Chapter Text
The loud beeping noise echoed throughout the empty mansion. Chad stirred, slowly waking up. As usual, The alpha had set his alarm to 1am. It was so that he could start working as early as he could, early to rise early to grind as his late mother used to say. She wasn't physically dead, but she was dead to him (She was a beta). Chad sighed, getting up to turn off the noisy device.
“..I need some coffee…” He said, stretching slightly as he got up to walk to his kitchen.
The mansion was almost all empty, with the only decoration being the numerous trophies Chad has won throughout the years. Walking past the washroom, he had finally reached the kitchen. He slowly grabbed the coffee pot and started making his coffee. Sitting down at the table, Chad checked the watch.
“..Wait a minute.. Im.. I'M LATE!” The alpha exclaimed, quickly getting up, forgetting his coffee. Chad ran out the door, heading to his destination; the gym. That place was his home in a way, it was more comfortable than his nearly empty mansion. While he was panicking about being late, he had not noticed someone who was right in front of him. The two collided. Chad fell slightly on top, pinning the other to the ground.
“Oh, I apologize- wait.. Ben?” Chad asked, his eyes widening in surprise. This was his ex, Ben Shapiro. The two had broken up many years ago after Chad found out that Ben lied about being an alpha male. Chad quickly got up, backing away slightly.
“Oh, uh, Hey Chaddy- sorry, Chad.” Ben said, blushing slightly at seeing his ex like this.
They shared an awkward silence with each other, neither knowing what to say.
“I should go.. I'm already late to the gym-”
“Can I go with you?” Ben Shapiro said, interrupting Chad.
As much as he knew it was rude, Ben couldn't help but say it. He knew he messed up lying to Chad in the past, but he wanted to fix his mistake.. and fix his relationship with him. As much as it pained him to admit it, Ben still loved the Alpha.
Chad took a second, but soon nodded. He didn't hate Ben, and maybe going to the gym together could help them become friends again… or possibly more. Chad blushed at the idea, shaking the thought off. There was no way that that could happen.
“I wouldn't mind you coming with me,” Chad said, to Ben’s relief.
The two walked together, in an awkward yet comfortable silence. Soon enough, they made it to the gym. Ben sighed, looking at Chad. He remembered all those times they used to work out together. Like how Chad had to teach Ben to do a pushup, because he had been doing it wrong the entire time.
“..Are you just going to stand there, or are you coming inside?” Chad asked, breaking Ben out of his thoughts.
“Aha, right.. Sorry, it's just been a while since I've last been here.” Ben Shapiro said, looking away quickly. The two men walk into the building together, with Chad going over to the weights first. Ben looked around, there weren't many people here at 2;00 AM. Perhaps that's why Chad loved going at this time of the morning. He shook his head again, trying to focus his thoughts on the treadmill, not his hot ex that was working out right next to him.
After a few hours, Chad wiped the sweat off his brow. He gathered his things to leave. As much as he wanted to stay with Ben Shapiro, his job working as the CEO of SuperCoolConstruction was in an hour.
“I have to go.. Uh, do you mind if we do this more often? It’s nice to have someone with me to exercise with '' Chad asked, nervous of being rejected. It wasn't like he was asking Ben out, no not at all. He still didn't particularly like Ben for what he had done.. But it felt like something was telling him to ask, like he had to have Ben near him again.
Ben blinked, not expecting to be asked that. Without thinking, the man shouted “YES!.. Oh, uh, sorry. I mean, I would like that” Chad gave Ben a small smile, before leaving the gym to go to his job.
