Chapter Text
Nicole Parker-Forbes was on her way home, after graduating from collage. She had told her mother and sister that she would be coming home in a week which was a lie, but she was actually coming home early to surprise them.
Driving up the familiar road, the brunette's smile widened when she saw her family home. Parking her car in the driveway, Nicole quickly got out and knocked on the front door.
"Pizza delivery" She said with a deep voice. When the door opened, she was welcomed with the face of her younger sister. When the blonde noticed it was actually Nicole, the teen let out an excited squeal and leapt into her arms.
"Nicky, you're finally home!!" The two girls hugged each other like their life depended on it, both of them wearing massive grins on their faces. Caroline was the first to pull away, and slapped the older girl on the arm making her let out a yelp.
"Why didn't you tell us you were coming home early?!" She questioned, glaring playfully at Nicole who was pouting.
"There's no need for violence, Care-bear. And i just wanted to surprise you and mum" She answered, shrugging innocently. Caroline rolled her eyes, but pulled her sister into another tight hug.
"I really missed you, Nicky" The blonde whispered. Nicole frowned slightly, noticing the slight sadness in her voice but decided to question it later.
"I missed you too, Care. Now, is mum home?" The blonde nodded her head, and lead the girl inside the house and into the living room where Liz was sitting.
"Mum, look who decided to surprise us with their presence?" Caroline said, making the woman look up with a curious look which quickly turned into one of surprise and happiness.
"Oh, my baby Nicky! You're finally home" She laughed happily, as she pulled her oldest daughter into a very tight hug. Nicole couldn't hug her back seen as her arms where trapped at her sides, and looked to Caroline with a pleading look. The girl just laughed and stayed where she was standing.
"I kinda need to breath, Ma" Nicole wheezed out, making the woman pull away with a sheepish smile.
"I'm sorry, but i'm just so happy you're home. Tell me, how are you? Are you moving back home?" Liz rushed out, making Nicole's eyes widen at the questions.
"Mum, calm down. I'm doing fine, and if it's okay with you i would like to move back home" The girl jumped when both her mum and sister squealed loudly, as they wrapped their arms around her.

After catching up with her mother, Caroline and Nicole decided to head over to the Grill for some food. The two sat at a table near the window, just as Matt walked over to them.
"Hey, Nicole. Good to see that you're home. Do you want your usual?" He asked, not even glancing at Caroline.
"Yeah, thanks Matt. Do you have any cupcakes though?" Nicole asked with a bright smile, making the blonde boy shake his head with a smile on his face.
"We have your favourite, red velvet" Nicole grinned excitedly, clapping her hands together. Caroline and Matt smiled at the girl, not surprised by how excited she got over cupcakes.
Ever since she was little, Nicole has loved cupcakes. Malachai would go out to the local bakery, and would always buy her a red velvet cupcake. The two siblings would always stuff their faces with the sweet treats, neither of them caring about the mess on their faces.
Once Matt left, the sisters started a conversation.
"So, you and Matt still not on talking terms?" Nicole asked, as she sipped on her ice tea.
"No. It's all complicated, but let's not talk about that. Tell me, did you find yourself a fella when you were in New York?" Caroline asked.
"No, I didn't. You know me, I was too focused on collage to date anyone" She shrugged, gaining a dramatic groan from her sister.
"Seriously! In the four years you were at collage, you didn't date once?" The blonde exclaimed. Instead of answering, the brunette shrugged innocently. Matt soon came over with their food, which they dug into quickly.
While they ate, Nicole found herself stuck in her thoughts which Caroline soon noticed and gained the girls attention.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Nicole shook her head, and looked into Caroline's blue eyes. She wasn't sure if she should tell her sister, but they always told each other everything.
"Okay, when i tell you this you can't judge me" Nicole said, making the blonde nod her head.
"A few months ago, i started having these weird dreams" She started to say but paused, biting her lip nervously.
"About what or who?"
"They're dreams of this family from what looked to be the Viking era. But that's not the weird thing. I've been seeing myself in these dreams, dressed in old looking dresses and not to mention my name in the dream is Saskia. And that's not the only thing, these aren't just any kind of dreams. They feel more like memories, like---like they're of me in a past life or something" Nicole explained.
"W-Wow, that's---weird. Who are these people that you see? What are their names?" Caroline stammered.
"That's the thing, i don't know their names or what their faces look like. I can only see everything else, but their faces" She said, her tone sounding slightly annoyed. Nicole had spent months having those weird dreams or memories, and not once has she been able to see their faces or know what their names are.
"There's also something else" The brunette mumbled, making Caroline's eyes widen.
"There's more?"
"Yeah. There's one person in the dream that i feel connected to. The Saskia girl and this guy were really close, i think they were even married. But whenever i hear his voice, i wake up feeling happy and almost like i have this need to want to know him, even though i know that he is more than likely dead" As Nicole spoke of this one person, the familiar feeling of need filled her chest. She never liked sleeping much but after the dreams started, she was always excited to go to sleep.
"I--uh--wow, i don't know what to say" Caroline breathed out, honestly shocked at what her sister was telling her. As the two moved onto another topic, neither of them noticing a certain blonde male Mikaelson walking into the Grill.
The Mikaelson saw Caroline sitting with an unfamiliar brunette, and decided to make his presence known.
"Hello, love" Caroline's head snapped up to look at the male, her eyes turning into slits.
"Klaus" She hissed. Nicole frowned slightly, and looked to the man standing at their table. When their eyes met, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head but played it off. The man on the other hand nearly fainted, if he could of course.
"Saskia?" He whispered, his face pale and his blue eyes widened. While Caroline frowned, Nicole's eyes widened and her breathe hitched. He just called her the name of the girl that she sees in her dreams.
"N-No, my name is Nicole. I'm Caroline's older sister, and you are?" The girl outstretched her hand for him to take, her eyes still glued to his.
"My apologies, you just--you just remind me of someone. I'm N-Niklaus, but you can call me Klaus or Nik" Caroline watched the two in shock, she was in shock at how Klaus was acting. She had never seen him act so shocked, until now.
"It's lovely to meet you. Well, i best be off. It was good seeing you Caroline, and you Nicole" With that said, the hybrid was basically running out the door. Caroline looked to her sister, seeing the dazed and somewhat pained look on her face.
"Nicky, are you okay? And why did he call you Saskia? Do you think he's one of the people from your dreams?" She questioned, watching as Nicole scrunched her face up in pain as she rubbed her head.
"I--I need a minute" She quickly said, quickly getting up from her seat and ran to the bathroom.

At the Mikaelson mansion, Klaus nearly broke the door down he slammed it open so hard. The ruckus caused his siblings to jump and turn to see their brother looking rather pale.
"What happened now? Did someone try to kill you or did they take your bone?" Kol snickered, but stopped when he saw the look on his brother's face.
"You won't believe who i saw at the Grill today" He breathed out, looking at each of his siblings.
"Let me guess, blonde, blue eyes, has an attitude problem" Rebekah hummed, not looking away from her nails. Klaus didn't even roll his eyes at the blonde, which didn't go unnoticed by the others. The hybrid looked to Finn, who frowned at him.
"I--I saw Saskia" The others were definitely paying attention now, all of them frozen in shock.
"What do you mean you saw Saskia?" The eldest Mikaelson questioned, feeling his dead heart beat faster.
"Well, it wasn't actually Saskia. Her name is Nicole, she is Caroline's older sister but she looks exactly like Saskia" He explained, but let out a grunt when he was roughly pushed against a wall by a very angry Finn.
"You're lying!" He hissed, his vampire face showing as he tightened his hold on Klaus' neck.
"F-Finn, please be-believe me when i say that--that she re-really does look li-like her" Klaus choked out, grasping Finn's hand to try and get it away from his neck but it was no use.
"Brother, let Niklaus go" Elijah said calmly, carefully placing his hands on Finn's shoulders but he got a growl in response from the angry vampire.
"L-Look into my mind. Yo-You'll see that I'm right" The hybrid placed a hand on the side of Finn's head, and he was pulled into Klaus' mind.
When Finn saw what he wanted, he pulled away with a gasp and tears in his eyes. He couldn't believe what he saw. Klaus really was telling the truth, she looked exactly like his first and last love. His Saskia.
"Th-That's impossible" Finn stammered, feeling the tears fall down his face and his breathing started to escalate.
"Wait, you're actually serious? This---this girl looks like Saskia?" Elijah said, his face showing a look of shock.
"I swear it, Elijah. She was an exact replica" Klaus replied, looking to each sibling.
"What does this even mean? I mean, she can't be a doppelganger so is she possibly a...reincarnation?" Kol questioned seriously. Never in his life has he ever been this serious, but if there is a woman that looks like our best friend and Finn's ex-wife, then he was going to be serious.

Back at the Grill, Nicole was in the bathroom trying not to collapse from the pain in her head. It almost seemed like she was trying to remember something
Her memory
"Nik, where are you?" Saskia called out, as she walked into the woods. The woman was looking around for her best friend, after his father had beaten him up.
"Nik?" She yelled out, but stopped when she saw familiar blonde hair sticking out from behind a tree. Walking over to the young teen, Saskia saw that the blonde huddling on the floor crying to himself. Crouching down to his level, the girl placed a hand on his shoulder causing him to jump and turn to her.
"Kia? What are you doing out here?" He asked, quickly trying to wipe away his tears but was stopped by his best friend.
"You're my best friend, Nik. I promised to be by your side always, and that is never going to change" She smiled, causing the blonde to let out a sob and collapsed into her awaiting arms.
End of memory
Nicole gasped, as she opened her eyes after seeing what played in her mind. The Nik in her dream was the same person she just saw. Before she could think much of it, the bathroom door opened and a hand was placed on her shoulder.
"Are you okay, Nicky?" It was Caroline. Nicole turned to her sister, a shocked look on her face.
"Klaus. I--he was one of the people in my memories. When I saw his face, it triggered a memory and i finally saw his face. He's the Nik in my dreams" She stammered, starting to feel overwhelmed by what was happening.
"So your past self---knew Klaus before he was a vampire?" Caroline exclaimed.
"I think so, yeah" Nicole was now even more confused and alarmed by what was going on, and she needed answers. But where is she meant to get said answers.
