Work Text:
Tony- Remember how he said that the Avenger’s Tower looked like Christmas but with more him? Well now it’s the other way around. Pepper made Rhodey follow him around when they were getting a tree so that he wouldn’t get a hundred foot tall one and try to put it in the lobby.
Steve- Having grown up in the Great Depression, he doesn’t really understand what all the fuss is about. Honestly all he wants is for them to get a day off.
Bruce- Is actually really good at baking, it helps him relax. As such he’s responsible for most of the cookies and cakes made during the season.
Clint- Is just enjoying having his family with him for the holidays. Cooper, Lila, Peter, Sam's nephews, and Shuri hit it off immediately, though, and he’s mildly worried about what trouble they’re going to get into.
Natasha- Somehow manages to get the perfect present for everyone without spending more than fifty dollars. Seriously, how does she do it?
Thor- Had to have the whole concept of Christmas explained to him, but as soon as he figured it out he was all in. I mean come on, it’s all about friends and food, right?
Bucky- Same as Steve, as well as the fact that he hasn’t had a normal Christmas in about 100 years. He still has some PTSD from a particularly terrible mission on a Christmas Eve sometime in the sixties, and is trying his best to stay out of the way.
Rhodey- Like it said above, his whole job this year is to make sure Tony doesn’t go too overboard. (No, Tony, we can not fit a gigantic stuffed animal for every single Avenger in the tower)
Peter- Has been pestering Loki all night. “Obviously it wasn’t cool that you tried to take over the world, but your whole look was amazing. I mean, you can just create an entire outfit out of thin air, it took me like a month to make my first costume, and it still looked terrible. Of course, you have magic, which is awesome by the way-”
Loki- Got dragged to the Christmas Eve party by Thor. He’s pretending to be sulking in the corner, but finds Peter’s antics endearing not entirely intolerable.
Scott- During the Christmas talent show he sang a surprisingly good rendition of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ with Cassie. Hope caught it all on video, and it’s definitely the highlight of the night.
Hope- Is helping Wanda with photographing and videotaping everything for later. Obviously she didn’t have many home videos growing up, so she’s making up for lost time.
Wanda- Like Hope, she didn’t have many good Christmases after she was about ten, so this is very therapeutic for her.
Vision- Like Thor, he’s a bit confused about the point of Christmas, (You mean to tell me that 93% of Americans celebrate a holiday based around a religious figure that only 70% believe in?) but if Wanda’s happy, he’s happy.
Carol- Has been a bit sad since nobody really celebrates Christmas in space, so she definitely wasn’t going to miss this one. (All the villain people she can send a message to now have very scary threats against them if they interrupt)
Quill- Like Carol, he hasn’t celebrated since he was on Earth. He had tried to explain to the other Guardians once or twice, but gave up after Drax asked him why everyone simultaneously decided to allow a creepy fat stranger to enter their house while they were sleeping.
Drax- Still doesn’t get most of the traditions (But why do you hang flammable clothing items above fire? Do all Earth people have death wishes?)
Gamora- Is mostly just keeping an eye on Rocket, she can’t trust him around this many gifts temptations.
Nebula- Is bonding with Loki about always being in their older siblings' shadow. And their love of daggers.
Mantis- Is a bit overwhelmed by all the joy and excitement she keeps feeling whenever she accidentally brushes up against someone. She doesn't mind too much; there are much worse emotions to feel.
Rocket- Has been trying to lose Gamora all week. It's surprisingly hard.
Groot- Loves all the pretty lights, although he was considerably annoyed when Quill tried to string some on him.
T’Challa- Gave up trying to watch Shuri a long time ago. Now he's just enjoying the party with Natasha, Clint and Bruce.
Sam- Is torn between wanting to join in on whatever the kids's shenanigans are, or pulling his nephews out so Tony doesn't yell at him when the fallout inevitably happens.
Pietro- Apparently they didn’t learn their lesson at Halloween, with the sugar Pietro has consumed he says he can hear colors.
Stephen- Is a bit of a Grinch in public, but privately he's already bought all the Avengers presents and is currently hiding them under his massive bed.
Shuri- Has somehow roped the rest of the younger people into a prank of massive proportions. Everyone is a bit apprehensive of whenever they get back together.
