Chapter 1: Search the Snow!
Chapter Text
Three boys trekked through the thin layer of snow. They were none other than Blaze, the fire elemental owner; Ais, the water/ice elemental user and Gopal, the molecule manipulator. A very odd combination. As the group dynamic would hint, Gopal warily moved along the snowy path while Blaze on the other hand, moved a bit sluggish—must be the cold getting to him—and Ais however, paid no mind to the road as if the chances of being ambushed was not a possibility.
Who would even be on this ice-cold planet anyways? Sure, if you have proper gear and clothes, (or in Ais’ case, an ice element) you’re all free to venture off! Or in some popular cases, hunt for power-spheres.
While most would not appreciate the low temperature, Ais loved it. He always had been a ‘polar bear’ as his twin would jokingly call him. Polar bear—that name has been stuck within his brothers’ and friends’ tongue ever since Api started calling him that out of friendly teasing. But of course, as always, Air got back at him, dubbing ‘fireball’. But in the end, it’s just harmless sibling banters.
The snow beneath his boots scattered away. The satisfying crunching sound of snow tore the boring silence. The peaceful—“EKKK!!” Hah.. spoke too soon.. Annoyingly there was another sound that shredded through the quiet atmosphere beside his energy high twin and the snow. Gopal. The teen has been jumpy ever since they were instructed to complete this task; and he clearly showed his unwillingness throughout the whole meeting. If Ais has to be completely honest, He was keen on the idea of Gopal bailing out.
Sadly, that wasn’t an option. Calmness is the key to success as Ais and his Atok would say but this particular boy is walking on thin ice. Both figuratively and literally. Apparently, the latter hadn’t noticed it. Good to know that the TAPOPS organization is prepared for these. They've gotten some new garments—like the boots they’re wearing now. Very useful when walking on ice.
But he wasn’t sure about his twin though. The fireball behind him left a very faint smeared boot-print with every step he took. How long until he melts through the ice and falls? Well, it depends whether or not the older boy would stop babbling. The constant self-reassurance isn’t quite needed. Last they checked, there weren't many life forms on this planet and the likely-hood of power-sphere hunters are low, too.
Here on this planet, the temperature was dangerously low with occasional bone-chilling breeze (for the others) rushing past in a blue blur. “Pstt—Dey! Blaze! Could you light another one of your fires?” Gopal requests, bringing his arms to hug himself, he motioned the other that he was freezing. “It’s getting chilly around here!” he nervously laughed.
Though the material they’ve gotten for this particular trek was warm, it was not warm. And so, Blaze’s here. To be their “personal portable heater” as Duri naturally teased.
But even with fire powers, it’s inevitable that the latter would catch a cold sooner or now.
“Sorry, dude! As much as I want to, can’t,” Blaze shrugged. Ais can understand. Having to summon fire after fire, only for it to be put out by the cold or an avalanche (as Ais would warn). Blaze hates to admit it but he is so going to catch a cold later. “But—but! You’re our only source of warmth and survival on this ice-cubed planet!” Gopal exclaimed.
Flinging his thick leather gloved hands to grab the other on the shoulders, shaking the boy. “We know Gopal! Stop! You're making me all dizzy!!" Blaze uttered with a voice crack. He slapped the hands away. Blaze’s own hand reached up to adjust his cap that had been crooked from the shaking. He looked like Halilitar with the tongue hanging low.
“Come on! Best friend~” Gopal stretched his words. “I promise to give you all the things you need when we get back!” the Indian boy winked at the playful boy, crossing his fingers that the other would waver. Ais too, crossed his own fingers. With the number of supplies that Gopal could supply Blaze and his other brothers.. SHIT. Please Api, whatever you’re going to do. DON’T.
“It is tempting..” Ais mentally cheered. “..but no Go—ACHOO!!” only for the latter’s refusal to be cut short by a sneeze. What a way to break the ice..
All three boys had to make a double take at the situation. They all stopped walking and stared at the fiery boy much to his embarrassment. Blaze stared down at his feet to avoid the looks the two were giving while Gopal stilled jaw-dropped—Ais however was impressed that his twin managed to hold up this long.
“Did—did you just sneezed!? THAT’S IT!! WE’RE GOING TO FREEZE UP AND DIE BOBOIBOY!! HUHU HUU!!” Gopal cried in a panic. Ais rolled his turquoise eyes at the other boy’s antics while Blaze stared deadpanned. Even after everything, the older boy would not drop the nickname. “No, we’re not. Blaze just caught a cold. That’s all,” Ais sighed as he took off his heavily fluffed and warm jacket. He draped it over his twin who emitted a small ‘oof’ at the weight of the wear.
“Catching a cold doesn’t render me useless either Gopal! It just makes things harder for all of us!” Blaze added his own argument. “You should know better after that one experience!”
In the past, the whole TAPOPS station experienced what it was like to have one no, two of the power-band wielders sick.
Gopal shivered with goosebumps at the little reminder. “Esh—don’t bring that up!! But I guess there isn’t really anything to worry about then, right team?” the teen broke out into a different mood, chest puffed up in confidence—definitely none existing before. Both Ais and Blaze shook their heads in disapproval—having been friends with the teen since 10, acts like these became the norm.
“Right, guys?—Oi! Wa-wait for me guys!!” Gopal called out, realizing that the twins were leaving without him.
About 15 minutes passed and there was no sign of their target (and Gopal hasn’t come to realize that they’re a few good feet up the group. Blaze and Ais silently made a conclusion that either one of them is going to point it out to the green jacketed teen). Power-sphere: EGGBOT, last seen on this blasted planet. Blaze doesn't know how much longer he would be able to stay here. Whenever he would summon his flames for warmth, his skin felt like it was a wound that had been rubbed with salt.
It's not fun coming in contact with ice cold temperature after igniting yourself.
A very cold breeze rushed past them and the fire-bender had to hold back a hiss. While Gopal jumped, Ais made no reaction what-so-ever. Being the holder of the ice element really numbed it.
Taufan: the wind element wielder; also, the second brother of the septuplets. The latter had tagged along with them to scout the area ahead. Standing crouched down on his signature hoverboard which was hovering 2-3 feet above ‘ground’ with an additional jumper with his iconic color pallet and a pair of goggles to avoid dust.
“You guys do realize that you’re walking on ice right?” he pointed out the obvious as he removed the goggles. Dreaded, Gopal clumsily looked down and true to the latter words and his horror, they were indeed walking on a path made out of ice. Gopal shrieked and clung on to the nearest person which happens to be Ais, he was not amused.
Same couldn’t be said for the other parties. Blaze snickered at the expected reaction while Taufan was hysterically laughing at the sight. If his brother doesn’t have any of his winds, he would be plumbing to the ground.
“HOW AND WHEN DID WE GET UP HERE!?” Gopal raised the question. He viciously shook Ais. The latter only groaned in annoyance at the behavior. He had planned on staying silent but knowing Gopal, his cries could be so loud that it could attract attention. Ais was not in the mood to fight just yet. Taufan didn’t even bother to help as he flew to Blaze’s side, exchanging words, snickering.
“Sigh.. since you were busy being paranoid which was unneeded, you didn’t realize that we started walking off ground,” Ais forced out an answer. Back then, they’d reached the edge of the mountain cliff. It was tiring to climb a hill or go around one, so the solution, create an ice path to venture on. It is quite easy with the planet’s conditions.
While that was happening, Taufan and Blaze were exchanging some words. “Ay, Blaze. Why are you wearing Ais’ jacket?” Taufan asked, his head tilted to the side, eyes going from Blaze to Ais. “Well—” Blaze started, “Blaze here had to catch a cold and now we don’t have any source of warmth anymore!” to which their companion cut him off. Rolling his eyes at the shortest boy which got a glare from both twins. “Would you stop cutting me off Gopal!?” Blaze said annoyed.
“Huh? Blaze you caught a cold?” Taufan worriedly asked, ignoring the banter. He hopped down from his hoverboard—to which it disappeared into thin air—and approached his sick twin. “How long?” the wind-bender asked the younger twin. “Approximately, 20 minutes or so,” Ais replied, cutting his twin off again with an annoyed grumble from the other. “Yeah no, You’re going back to the ship bud,” the current eldest twin declared as he ruffled the other’s capped head, crocking the hat in the process. A faint, “you guys are bullying me at this point..” was heard from the boy.
“I can still help though..” Blaze pouted; arms crossed. “We know you’re more than capable. But you need to go—if not, how are you going to join future missions?” Taufan pointed out the obvious. Gempa wouldn’t let the latter join. He would end up being cooped up in the ship or at home for a good week. Blaze sighed in defeat; feeling satisfied, Taufan switched on his watch communication and speed-dialed a familiar number.
No later, a holographic screen popped up from the watch and three faces greeted him. Ying was apparently on communication duty—Gempa and Duri can be seen talking in the background. “Hey Taufan!” Ying greeted eagerly—Gempa and Duri perked up from the conversation with the mention of their brother. “How are things going over there?” she asked in her fast spoken voice. “Not much but we need you to open a tele-portal to our location right away!” Taufan explained, scratching the back of his neck. “We’re sending Blaze back to the ship. He got a cold.”
“Ay? Blaze caught a cold?” Duri asked which his fellow prankster nodded back with a sheepish smile. “Right, I’ll go get Ochobot; be back in a jiffy!” the Chinese girl announced and sped off with a yellow and blue blur. “Thanks Ying!” Taufan thanked even though he knew the other wasn’t there anymore.
“We expected this much to happen,” Gempa shrugged. “But not to worry, we’ve prepared some hot chocolate and tea!” Both Gopal and Ais particularly brighten up at the mention of the treats while Blaze cheered. Taufan and Gempa chuckled at the sight of their usually stoic brother brightening up. “We’ll send them through as well. I’ll go get Yaya.” Gempa said and walked out of frame.
Taufan noticed his brother slowly huddling up with him. Must be the cold. Ais on the other hand was dozing off. Yeah, maybe a few treats will wake him back up. Gopal was seen munching on some candy. The teen probably turned some snow into sweets. He’ll ask for some later.
Realizing only Duri was left on screen, he struck up a topic. “Hey Duri. How’re things going on the ship?” Duri covered his laugh with a palm before answering. “The usual, Lar and Fang got into a bit of a disagreement. Now they’re having a spar in the training room—” “which they have to clean up later.” Yaya’s annoyed yet amused voice continued. Seems the girl tagged along with Gempa.
Ah, Taufan could imagine how the training room would look after that episode. Hopefully no obvious holes on the surfaces.. “Seems like you guys are having fun! Hi Yaya!” Blaze spoke in his usual loud demeanor.
“Partially,” Hali’s flat voice rang as he and Ying walked into frame with a floating Ochobot by their side. “Of course~” Taufan sang; the lightning bearer shot back a glare. Earning mixed reactions between amusement and expiration from the bystanders. Ignoring the two eldest twins’ banter, Blaze greeted their power-sphere friend. “Hi Ochobot!” the bot responded with a nod(?) (don’t know how that works) “Greetings to you, too guys!” its digital face turned to a more cheerful expression.
“I have the portal ready at the get go, please step aside!” it warned. Taufan pulled his brother by the wrist to the side and their previous spot was replaced with a portal. A while after, Duri bounced out of the portal—once he caught sight of his double jacketed brother (he stifled back a laugh), he tackled them into a warm embrace—almost toppling over Taufan.
“Geez.. Blaze, you’re stiff and cold as a popsicle!” An expected tease from the plant lover. Blaze let out an offended gasp as he grasped on the other tighter—with shaky arms Duri noted. “You try staying on an eternal winter planet!” “Sure, sure~” Duri cooed as he patted his shaking brother on the back.
Taufan felt a nudge at his right side and turned to see Gempa and Ais. “Here’s the goods we promised!” Gempa said as he put down a tote-bag. Ais wasted no time and swooped into the bag and pulled out a cup. Classic Ais.. “Don’t worry—there’s 2 for each!” Gempa softly patted the other’s back. Ais hummed in appreciation.
“Blaze!” the latter perked up at the call. “Come on, let's go, and give back Ais’ jacket.” Gempa beckoned. Blaze followed as he broke the hug and took off the jacket, tossing it back to his twin which the other miraculously caught.
If Ais had to be honest, the cold didn’t bother him one bit. He could stay jacketless the entire journey if he wished.
Duri slung his arm around the fiery boy’s shoulder and dragged him to the portal. “Good luck on the mission guys! If anything happens just call us—” only to be cut short when Yaya flew through the portal. Making both troublemakers jump. “Oops! Sorry guys!” the girl apologized. “You can go on ahead!” to which the two followed, waving one last time before disappearing into the portal.
“Yaya? What are you doing here?” Gempa asked, confused. “Are you here to switch duties with me?” Gopal shoved the earth-bender away from his spot—Ais caught him, asking enthusiastically, receiving deadpan expressions. Yaya cleared her throat.
“No, I’m just here to give a tray of my biscuits!” the girl swooped out one of her freshly baked infamous pastries. Everyone immediately skidded away. “Your biscuits!?” Gopal muffled a shout behind his hands. “They’re to go with the drinks! You would need something else to fill your hunger, right, right?” she beamed.
“Erh—thank you for your consideration Yaya! But! I think we have enough food trays with us!” Taufan tried to explain. Slipping on his own words. Even if he is one of those that can actually eat those treats, the taste is still there. “Yeah! I’ve just made some more food on the road!” Gopal added as he picked up some snow and transformed it into cotton-candy in demonstration and shoved it down his bag. “Uhm! And we also just ate some too!” Ais followed up. They all crossed their fingers.
“Aw.. but I’ve just made these for you..” Yaya sighed in disappointment. Then she realized Gempa. “What about you, Gempa? Would you like some of it?” she turned her attention to the teen much to his despair.
“Sorry, Yaya. But me and my brothers just drank some hot chocolate! And Tok Aba warned us to not eat anything more than that! Yeah!” Gempa nervously explained. Those words are true, the septuplets would go in a sugar rush if they were to eat more than their given limit. Especially Blaze.
“Bummer..” Yaya mumbled. Unknown to her, the rest of the twins here and on the ship signed out in relief. THANK YOU GEMPA!
“Don’t get too down, Yaya! We can still keep them for the trip back home!” Taufan tried to encourage his friend which sort of worked. No later, she bounced back to her bubbly nature. “You’re right! I’ll keep these warm for later!” she said excitedly and skipped back into the portal.
SIGH.. they all huffed out a breath. That was something.
“Remember to be careful out here, okay?” Gempa reminded the team yet again, putting aside what had happened. “Yes, yes, Gem. We heard you the last time on board,” Taufan giggled as he pushed the other towards the portal. “Let us take care of it from here! Kay?”
“Yeah—sure.” Gempa playfully rolled his eyes. Giving one last wave the latter walked through the tele-portal and it closed itself a moment later.
“Alright! Now that’s out of the way; onwards!” Taufan turned back to the team with his usual cheerful demeanor. He dug through the tote-bag and took his share then jumped off the bridge which can give an ordinary person a heart attack and floated back up with his hoverboard. The reactions were a hum from Ais and a groan from Gopal. Very eager!
5 minutes passed and the current duo moved through the snow. No sign of power-sphere: EGGBOT. Gopal started doubting if there even was a power-sphere on this planet. If only their trackers worked in all this snow and blizzard. The signal is very faint making it hard to track its location but if you were to argue with “what about look for something shiny?” Well, they might as well be running on bad luck because the snow made everything shiny.
It's ridiculous.
Fortunately, the rain of bad luck was about to end. Taufan sped back to the duo—looking rather annoyed. “Good news!” “I found the power-sphere!” Taufan waved his arms in the air. THAT’S GREAT! Now, Boboiboy only needs to swoop in and grab it! But—why doesn’t he have it with him!?
“Bad news?” Ais raised a brow. Esh—of course, there is a bad side. Gopal grumbled. “It’s stuck underneath a.. uhm.. a giant penguin-whale like creature! And man~ it’s huge! Hah!” that sounded too cheerful.
STILL. A giant penguin-whale-like creature? What does it look like? Hm.. a penguin as big as a whale? Or a whale with features of a penguin? That’s freaky. What to expect when you’re on a different planet from Earth? Anything could be possible. Like this hybrid beast!
“Well, can’t you just get in and out of there?” Gopal asked what’s been bugging him. “Of course, I can! But trust me, you don’t want to get chased by that hybrid!” Taufan shrugged with a chuckle. “Give it a try then,” the plump boy jokingly said. “You think he hadn’t?” only to be deadpanned by Ais.
“Lead the way, Abang.” The last part was spoken in a hushed voice but not inaudible enough to bypass the wind. A smirk quivered up the latter’s face. “This way!”
“You got the plan?” Taufan triple checked the eldest. At this point, he’s taunting the teen for his lack of enthusiasm. “For the third time! YES! And drop it,” Gopal frowned. “Just making sure~” Taufan laughed at the response.
Ais sighed in exasperation at the antic. Securing the backpack with a prototype egg—Gopal manifested, he backtracked the rocky wall.
Hopping off the wall, he came eye to eye with the beast. Taufan’s description would be the acute of what it's like. Walking around the side, he looked for the trapped power-sphere.
And there it was, stuck under its tail. It was hiding in its shell. Ais kicked the snow at his foot to grab its attention. And sure enough, the bot’s head(?) perked up—its digital screen lit up at the sight of the teen.
Quietly, the element wielder walked towards it and placed the egg on the snow. With a grunt, he lifted up the tail subtly. The power-sphere rolled out then it pushed the replacement in its previous spot. Ais slowly dropped the tail.
EGGBOT nudged his leg, “Thank you,” it beeped. Ais patted its hard metallic shell, “No problem.” Setting his backpack down, he motioned the bot to get in. EGGBOT happily hopped in. Ais stood back up and slung the bag on his back. Securing it, he steadily climbed up the wall to meet up with the rest.
While advancing upward, he found himself being pushed by another body. He luckily managed to grab a hold of a ledge. Spotting a bright green and yellow, he glared at Gopal. He then froze when he spotted a very familiar item in the other teen’s hand. Ais felt his eye twitch. “Gopal! What are you thinking!?” he yelled quietly enough to not wake the beast below.
“What? This is going to be my supper!—” he gave the egg a quick kiss, “—You want some? I’m generous enough to share~” he offered. Ais only gave the latter a judging face. “NO! You put that back, Gopal!” he reprimanded.
“Esh—if you’re going to be like that don’t expect a share!” Gopal stated. Ais grew impatient as he tried to reach for the egg which the latter tried to prevent by extending his arm.
“Are you looking for trouble, Gopal!? Put it back!”
“For the last time! No! We can make it through and get a good supper at the same time!”
The bickering was put to an end when the elder teen yelped. “GAH! My supper!” and before they knew it, he dropped the egg. And bloody hell. It hatched.
Chapter 2: Mama
Notes:
Creative title, I know :)
I honestly didn't expect myself continuing to write this...
Note: I had to scrap this multiple times. I kept making the characters act OOC. Even though I’m running the plot with my own head-canons..

Chapter Text
The egg cracked, and call it bad luck because a baby hatched along with it. Ais had to hold back the urge to freeze the older boy to the side of the mountain.
The newly hatched (un-welcomed) baby looked around in confusion. It made eye contact with both teen, well mostly with Gopal, before making a sound akin to a hiccup. Oh no.. Why is this reminding the foodie of a very specific first mission off planet?
The continuous sounds of hiccups snapped the teens out of their frustration and confusion. Déjà vu struck and Gopal hurriedly tried to sooth the now frantically crying pup—wait.. can you call it a pup? He’ll think about that later. Right now, they—he has a more challenging task at hand! The ice-user didn’t even try to help in the slightest and slowly slipped away from this madness as he continued to scale up the wall.
“Shush! Shush!! Mama’s not home! She’s gone to work!”
Now that he thinks about it.. the latter is choosing the better choice by evading the soon to be trouble.
But still! At least tell me that you have a plan!
Coming to the conclusion that the pup wouldn’t stop crying any time soon, Gopal fearfully climbed up the wall. He looked downwards to check if it stopped crying due to its now inaudible wailing. Bad decision.. He came eye to eye with the mother of the pup.
The mother growled..? Looking for something—probably for her pup—the second time they made eye contact, Gopal froze in place and swallowed a lump that was stuck in his throat. His arm subconsciously tried to grab onto the other’s—arm or leg or something! To anchor him down.
The beast stood up all four before getting into a stance. Like a bull, and like a bull, it moved to ram the teens into the wall. Silently accepting his faith or in some miracle, for Ais to help him out, he closed his eyes and let out a scream.
The screaming drowned out most of his surroundings. Gopal couldn’t tell if he had passed on or was alive. The sound of fingers snapping and a call of his name soon evolved his senses and he opened his eyes—still screaming but slowly calming down.
The wind-user must have swiped them out in time before they could have turned history.
Taufan ‘stood’ afloat between him and Ais. “OUCH!!” the wind-user pinched him on his arm. “Dude, you good now?” He asked, concerned. “I think I’m going to pass out..” Gopal exhaled tiredly.
“Well, I hope you have some energy left in you. Because mama is not happy in the slightest!” the flying boy pointed to the ground.
Underneath his dangling feet, the mother pulled itself out of the wall—leaving an obvious dent. It let out noise akin to a groan from the impact and looked up. WHY DID IT HAVE TO LOOK UP!? Gopal had to wonder.
And soon enough, it went back to its previous position and leaped into the air. Seeing the display of aggression, Taufan stabilized his winds. “Hold on guys! Play time is not over yet!” With that, the boy bent his winds to dodge its attack.
To no surprise, the mother didn’t stop there as it continued to do the same attack from whatever surface it lands on, which the wind-user carefully avoided. At about its 8th try, the mother managed to get close enough to them to knock Taufan. The wind around them that was holding them up disappeared and the non-wind-users began to plummet to the ground.
“MAMA!! PAPA!! HELPPP!!” Gopal cried out.
In a haste, Ais manifested the same ice path they used while falling, catching both and additionally turning into a slide that allowed them to keep a safe distance from it. Gopal felt something metal hit his stomach to see EGGBOT now in his clutches. It appears that the straps of the backpack had broken off. *1
Meanwhile, on other side.. A green box headed alien eyed the power-sphere in Gopal’s arms. He laughed to himself. “Well done Kokotiam! You do all the heavy lifting for me?” “—And we’ll gladly swoop in to grab the prize!” beside the alien, his purple robot assistant ‘Probe’ added.
Adu-du turned to face the robot with a grin. “Let’s go Probe! Transform now!!” He commanded to which his ever so loyal comrade complied, “ Aye! Aye! Mister Boss! Mode: Robot-copter!”
“Heh! We’ve lost her!” Gopal cheered in relief.
Realizing that he couldn’t feel the weight of a metal robot, Ais turned to look around in panic before settling down once he caught sight of it in Gopal’s arms. Good. Now he can focus on where to go— “AIS HEADS UP!!”
A mountain behind them cracked and pieces of debris and rocks began flying at them with the mother behind the barrage of stone with Taufan slowing it down without hurting it.
When slowing down the creature became fruitless, Taufan sped up and got in between the downpour of rocks and the other two. Concentrating his energy, he created a ‘hurricane wind’ or a ‘wind shield’ to block or crush as many rocks as he could. Some slipped through while in his lag and came crashing down on the ice slide.
The path started to fall apart and Ais tried to outdo the path in order to keep their speed but came to an end when they found themselves falling from the air for the second time that day.
“AIR!! GOPAL!!” they managed to catch a shout in the muffled winds.
Ais felt the ground tremble. Slipping back into his consciousness, he opened his eyes. His vision blurred; white edges colored his sight. His hand reached to sooth his forehead. They must have fallen flat on their faces. How embarrassing!
Regaining focus, he realized that they were in a cave. The cave he led them to hide after Gopal turned the rest of the rocks into.. pizza? He could assume it was pizza from the scattered toppings. He felt his face ache from the impact.
A groan rang from behind and he turned to find Gopal, which the latter landed with less grace than he did. The teen landed on stomach first on the metallic ball. That’s going to be there for a while. The older boy slipped off the power-sphere to the more comfortable ground and curled up into a ball.
Ais shuffled towards the latter to check up on him. Is he still unconscious? He thought as he nudged his shoulders. No later, the other woke up screaming. “AHHHHHh—” “SHUSH!!” an iced hand snaked around his neck and slapped over his mouth. Ais held up a finger to his mouth in a sign to keep quiet.
Meanwhile outside of the cave entrance, a shadow of the creature moved steadily. Scanning the area for our two cadets. And just as they thought it was about to leave, it turned around and rammed its head into the entrance, making the cave shake; pieces of icicles began to fall.
Before Ais could make a shield or manipulate the projectiles, Gopal beat him to it with a loud shout of “FOOD TRANSFORMATION!!” and turned the onslaught of spikes into everyday food. *2
“Shush! Keep quiet Gopal!” Ais yanked the other behind a rock that was big enough to hide them. Although Ais does appreciate the help, he would prefer it if it was handled quietly. Gopal breathed in a big breath and held the ice-user tight. “The mother is right outside, Boboiboy!! How are we supposed to get out!?” he cried.
“First, stop calling us from that nickname—second, we’ll think of something..” Ais thought for a moment. He felt a nudge at his foot and looked down to meet with EGGBOT. “I know!” it cheerfully chirped. “We can go out the way we came in from! Look!” its eyes darted up to the exposed part of the roof.
The option of getting out safe is still there! Gopal cheered. “Dey! You’re pretty helpful EGGBOT!”
The power-sphere bashfully hid itself in its shell. “Well, it’s the least I can do after you guys helped me!” Ais patted the bot’s head. “Alright! I will create a stairway up and we’ll regroup with Taufan. Let’s go!”
Ais turned around to do his plan but stopped when he came face to face with the pup. The pup tilted its head in awe at the people standing in front of it. “Dey! What you’re doing here aren’t you supposed to be with your mama?” Gopal motioned towards the cave entrance and reprimanded the pup. Ais left out an exasperated sigh. He could feel the trouble stirring up.
“Now.. Shoo! Shoo! Go back to your mama!” Gopal encouraged with a wave. And next thing you know, the baby chomped onto the latter’s arm, up until his elbow. “OUCH!! Wah!! NOT AGAIN!” Gopal wailed as he violently shook his hand in an attempt to shake off the pup.
“Wait! Calm down and hold still Gopal!” Ais called out trying to help which the older boy listened. Ais tried to pull the pup off but became a hassle when the pup continued to swallow the arm. Resulting with Gopal crying in panic, Ais again tried to calm the situation but the other had already run out of the cave.. Meeting with a bigger doom.
The realization hit Gopal and he nervously wheezed out, “How was work mama?” He waved with his half-consumed hand.
Sadly, the mother had no energy to deal with his antics as it started attacking him instead.
“Ach.. Gopal.. Come on EGGBOT, we need to go help him—huh? EGGBOT!?” A robotic scream echoed from the cave and Ais snapped his head back, ice ready to use at his command. He then caught sight of the power-sphere now being taken away from a claw from a very familiar purple robot/ship. Probe and Adu-du!
The alien let out a villainous laugh. “We got it Probe! Let’s go!!” he commanded, which Probe obeyed as it began to fly away. “Aye! Aye! Mister boss!” It replied with its own laugh.
Ais listened as the voices began to fade. As he was going to follow the green-box-headed alien, a scream from Gopal let him know how much of a pickle he was in. “Ugh!”
Go after Adu-du and risk getting Gopal eaten or let Adu-du get away and help Gopal? He doesn’t mind which option he chooses but it would hinder their mission one way or another.
With a cool head, he turned to help Gopal but before he could take a step, he felt a body drop behind him. Ais spun around and grabbed the intruder on the shoulder with a glare. “Is that a new way to greet your brother?” Duri asked in all smiles. *3
“Duri?” Ais asked as he dropped his defenses. “Mhm! The one and only!” The twin dressed in black and neon beamed.
“Taufan called?” Ais raised a brow.
The older twin giggled. “Yup! Just a while ago, too! And don’t worry, Hali and Taufan are taking care of Adu-du!”
“I see..” Ais stared at the roof—now, spotting the vine attached on the ceiling.
“AHHHHH!! What are you waiting for!? Help!!” Gopal scream snapped the twins out of their daze. “Ehehee.. Coming! Sorry Gopal!” Duri apologized as he and Ais jogged forwards.
Thornless vines and sharp ice grew on the mother’s legs and pulled it back gently to not cause even the minimum damage. “Please calm down, ma’am! It’s just a big misunderstanding!” Duri reasoned which went to deaf ears as the creatures continued to pounce on the Indian teen.
With the creature put to place, Gopal tried to crawl out of its sight. Seeing the teen tried to hide away, angered the beast and it tugged harshly against its restraints. A big chunk of ice fell apart and with it, enough for the creature to pounce on the teen in front of it, but this time, with its mouth open to swallow the boy whole.
Frozen in place, Gopal raised his arms to miraculously shield himself from the attack. The pressure in the air changed and he hesitantly opened his eyes to see the creature now glowing in a pink hue. That could only mean.. Yaya!
And so, behind him in the sky was Yaya with her hands emitting a pink hue as she held back the mother. “Hah.. Thank you Yaya!” Gopal rasps out.
“Hehe—you’re welcome, Gopal! Sorry for being late! The weather is too cold to fly at full speed!” Yaya muttered out her own train of apology.
Two arms went under him and Gopal found himself being lifted and carried to a wall. The two twins made him sit up as the twin in green gently removed the pup that had attached itself to his arm. Gopal let out a gasp of relief.
“Next time—Don’t go around eating people’s hands!” Duri scolded the baby in his arms. It pouted.
Harsh air blew as the boss and assistant duo flew through the bright daylight. They were now in a tight chase between Halilintar and Taufan. The lightning bearer sped through the snow leaving heavy footprints and a red neon glow as he went while the wind-user flew from above. Time to time, the flying boy would jump down from the sky and drop onto the Robot-copter—almost kicking the green alien out of the piloting seat. Though, Probe doesn’t really need a pilot.
“Let go of me!!” the power-sphere cried as it wiggled its body to wrestle out of the claw. “Oh, be quiet will you!?” Adu-du took the steering wheel, making the copter sway side to side. “Mister boss! We’re almost there!!” Probe informed his master with its cheery voice when spotting their gray and dull-purple spaceship that was parked up on the side of a mountain.
“Ahahah! Mission well done Probe!” Adu-du praised as he patted the surface of the cockpit, a visible blush adorns the robot for a second. If Adu-du had hair, they would be standing up when a thunderbolt went flying by his head. He felt like cursing at the lightning-user but kept a cool head as he turned to taunt the teen instead.
“Farewell, Halilintar!! See you never again, older partner!!”
Even from this high up in the sky, you could still see the deepening scowl of the teen. It seemed to have pissed the latter off even more.
The sound of engines made Adu-du turn to face upfront. There from the canyon, came another spaceship whereas this particular one was painted in red and blue. The newcomer's spaceship blocked their path.
In fast reaction, the alien held a pair of levers and pulled it hard. “Hit the break Probe!!” He ordered, “NOWW!!” the engines of the Robot-copter reversed and came to a harsh stop. Now they came face to face with a name tag which read— “Huh? MYS Justice?”
A screech rang and a pair of speakers opened. “HAHAH!!” the voice laughed. “You may be able to run and escape from your ex..” the captain of the ship dabbed rather dramatically, “but you cannot escape from justice!!” Papa Zola’s eyes narrowed at the sight of the antagonists. “OCHOBOT!!” the man signaled the power-sphere. “Okay!” The bot hummed and pulled a lever in front.
The hanger in front of our antagonist duo opened up and an ominous smoke flowed out with glowing purple eyes amongst it. A figure slowly emerged from the shadows and there stood a spiky raven-head humanoid alien. A pair of fingers pushed up his glasses and with a hum, the smoke from before dissipated and stood a group of shadow animals.
From shadow gorilla, snake to a shadow mouse.
“Erh? What are you trying to do? Open a zoo?” to the opposite of what one would feel, Adu-du only deadpans at the display. “Hey! Do kids like mister boss get a free entry?” His assistant jokingly asked. Only to receive a pout and a hard smack on the head.
While distracted from their own banter, they didn’t spot the increasing distance of a yellow blur. Ying came running off of a cliff as a ramp and snatched the captured power-sphere from the claw. Her laughter echoed in the canyon as she run up the wall of the cliff and into the hanger.
Angered that he got deceived, “Hey! That power-sphere belongs to me!” he shouted as his finger pointed at the robot in the girl’s hand. “Is that what you think?” Ying asked in a taunting tone to which Fang took it as an initiation to unleash his animals. “ATTACKKK!”
No later, the shadow animals followed through their master’s orders as they all leaped out of the ship and pounced on the duo.
“OW!! OW!! OUCH!!”
“THAT HURTSS!!”
“PLEASE STOP HURTING ME MISTER GORILLA!!” Probe scream ended with an echo as the two dropped onto the snowy ground, exhausted.
“Please don’t hurt us anymore..” Adu-du pleaded. “We won’t do it again!” Probe followed up.
“You don’t have to worry about me!” the girl said with a knowing smile. She eyed the increasingly approaching red glow and the blue boy landing beside her. “But I don’t know about Halilintar~” Taufan continued the teasing.
“Halilintar?” The boss and assistant asked in a daze. Their view then got blocked by a pair of night black boots rigged with red electricity. And with it, they looked up to meet Halilintar with the deepest scowl you could ever muster. The teen raised his arm and manifested a twin blade sword. “Take this!” and then before they could react, the teen as set off a reaction that soon knock them out of their feet and sent them flying into the sky.
“Gopal! Are you okay now?” Yaya asked concerned as she approached her friend, his shoulders shaking from how much he’s been breathing, he replied “I’m okay! Again, thanks Yaya!”
The pink hijabed girl nodded as she slowly lowered down the mother. It landed on the dirt with a thump. Spotting its mother, the pup began to squeal and wiggle itself out of Duri’s hold—which the green cladded teen didn’t mind—Duri gently set the pup on the ground as they watched it run towards its mama.
The mother, also spotting the baby, ran towards it. The teens minus Yaya are experiencing an earthquake. The plant lover and Yaya cooed at the reunion. “Aww!”
And just as the pup was about to reach the mother, a pair of bodies fell flat on the pup and crushed it. The mother stopped dead in her tracks.
Gopal began to slowly back away.
The dust cleared and it revealed a green box headed alien and a purple robot. “Ow!! That hurt!” cried Probe. “Huh? That’s a nice cushion you got there, mister boss! Where did you get it?” Probe’s naïve question puzzled the alien. Last he checked: they didn’t have any cushion!
Adu-du looked down to see a whale-like-penguin underneath him.
A dark shadow overcast them, and the ground trembled with each step it took. They looked up to meet with a bigger version of the creature Adu-du was sitting on, the atmosphere became heavy. Its throat rumbled before it let out a menacing roar.
“AHHHHHHHH!!!!” and another round of beating begins.
A spaceship hovered behind them and Ying’s voice rang. “EGGBOT, safe and sound! Now, let’s get out of here!” Gempa walked out of the hangar and came down to assist Gopal—Duri ran as Ais chased him onto the ship. Fang nodded as he opened a communication channel. “Captain Papa—everyone’s on board!” he informed. The man huffed and began to pull away from the dock.
The doors to the hanger slowly began to close as Yaya slipped in.
Gempa led the stumbling Gopal onto the ship, his thoughts drifting back to Adu-du and Probe’s cries. Gempa stared symbiotically at the two while Gopal wheezed out in relief. “I wouldn’t want to be in their place!” Duri peaked at the scene. His face winching at the brutal beatings.
Knowing what his friends were thinking, Fang reprimanded them. “What are you doing? Let’s go, everyone!” The attention soon turned to where the screams were coming. Gopal looked at Gempa in the eyes which the other didn’t re-approach.
“Gempa you’re not thinking what I’m thinking, you’re going to do, right?” Yaya gripped the boy’s right shoulder.
“I sort of feel bad..” Duri piped up while Halilintar grumbled at the situation. It was cleared that they all wanted to help the alien. Ais looked back and forth between Gempa and Fang. The lance corporal wasn’t in the pros of helping the other two.
“Hish.. you bring Gopal inside!” Gempa requested as he handed his friend to Fang. “Gempa! Where are you going?” Fang asked bewildered. “Sorry! But I can’t just leave them like that!” the earth manipulator apologized.
“Gempa, are you out of your mind?” Gopal protested. “You’re going to help a power-sphere hunter here! The very thing that we work against!” Fang added.
Gempa looked down at his feet in defeat.
Halilintar sighed. His brothers were too kind for their own good. “Leave it Fang,” the brother dressed in red spoke up. “No harm done in helping them. If it helps you sleep at night, we’ll tie them down with something to at least sever as a punishment.” He gazed at the nature manipulator to receive a nod and a devious grin from the wind-user behind.
“Hish—You got 5 minutes.” Fang gave in.
As soon as the permission has been granted, Gempa hugged his brother in appreciation which the latter returned by patting their back. “5 minutes, Gempa.”
“Right. Let’s go!” And thanks Abang.
Notes:
Halilintar is soft for his brothers <3
*1 – the straps broke due to Angin’s wind. When Ais and Gopal were falling, Taufan tried to catch them but missed so it cut the straps instead.
*2 – head-canon: The Kokotiam say their power moves out loud when panicked.
*3 – Yes, Ais grabbed Duri’s shoulder pad that’s covered with spikes..
