Sapnap looked up at the “portal,” it was a frame of obsidian with some strange swirling purple in the middle. He’d watched days before as his friends wandered through it… none had returned.
He hadn’t been scared, don’t get him wrong, but he wasn’t comfortable enough to go through when his friends did. So he waited for them to come back so he could join them the next time they ventured through; but still after days they hadn’t been heard from. So he had steeled himself, he would go through and look around, and if he couldn’t find them then he’d come back for help; a fool proof plan in his opinion. So he prepared himself, wearing hoglin-leather armor, and armed with a blackstone axe, he went through the portal at just under a foot tall.
A violent chill met him on the other side, no residual heat wafted through the air from ever burning lava; and looking around he couldn’t see any lava at all. Strange materials were all around him, things he’d never seen; like brown wood, strange grey cobbled stone, and a strange see through material that lead to a impressively white outdoors. Stepping off the lip of the portals frame, he stumbled, vision blurring slightly at the nauseating travel from a different dimension and the cold. Carefully Sapnap steadied himself against the edge of the portal, trying to keep his breakfast down as he took in chilled air, he could’ve sworn frost was forming on his lips as he breathed; and he didn’t even know what frost was.
Axe in hand he made his way away from the portal, making sure to keep a mental marker of where it was; the hallway he went down was the same as the “portal room,” as he dubbed it, covered with material he’d never seen. Coming to a door Sapnap looked around before heading inside. Chests lined the walls, spread evenly and marked with item frames; whoever lived here was orderly to say the least. Carefully he made is way through the room, going through certain chest that interested him; the one marked with nertherack reminded him of home.
But eventually he made his way out of the room; turning back and leaving through the door he’d come in. He stopped every once in awhile to look through rooms as time went on, but he’d found nothing of interest in any of them; save for the strange fluffy thing in one room, it was green and soft to the touch, giving off the same energy as a charged respawn anchor. Strange. He ignored it, he wouldn’t need to log a respawn point, granted he didn’t have one at home either; he wouldn’t respawn without one, but it wasn’t like he was going to die out here.
He’d left that room awhile ago, and now he stood in front of the final door; hopefully his friends would be behind this one. Sapnap pushed against the door barely, and it gave a loud creak as it opened, revealing a cozy looking circular room.
That same brown wood as before, along with the grey cobbled stone, with some more of the soft green material; though it didn’t house his friends, it did have someone else. Sapnap looked to the large resting figure on one of the seats; white hair, pale skin dotted with green splotches, all wrapped up in white fluff. Beautiful, beyond beautiful in his opinion.
The figure was snuggled up by themself, eyes closed, and Sapnap assumed they were sleeping. So, carefully, he moved through the room, closing the door behind him as he stepped inside. He looked around for awhile, going through the few chests within the room, standing by the still lit fireplace, before finally going up to the person on the chair. Strangely as he got closer to them they seemed more scary than dashing, but Sapnap threw both of those feelings to the side, the main thing he need to do was ask them if they’d seen his friends; so he reached forwards, and shook their leg.
Their foot actually, they were curled up on the chair to high for him to get a hand to their leg, but nevertheless the reaction was the same, they slowly woke up. Sapnap watched as they squirmed lightly, then as they stretched; and he heard them yawn as well, the bottom half of their face covered by the lip of their sweater. Eyes still closed he heard as they clicked their mouth a couple times, disgustingly aware of the copious amounts of saliva in their mouth from the noise; he shuddered. Finally the person opened their eyes, they looked around for a short bit, before Sapnap called out and caught their attention.
He regrets getting that attention immediately as they reach down and grab him by the scruff of his shirt, pulling him up to be eye level with them. Almost instantly he tries to lash out with his axe, but the person easily grabs it with their other hand and tosses it aside. Carefully, or as carefully as they can while Sapnap struggles, they strip off his armor. They lean forward slightly and sniff at him, and Sapnap wriggles, still trying to get away, but not trying so hard as to not comment on what a weird thing to do that was.
That apparently makes the person pause, and after a few seconds they giggle out a wheeze; much to Sapnap’s weirded out delight. They laugh like that for a few minutes, enough to calm Sapnap down just a bit; definitely not just because their laugh is cute, definitely not. That calmness is instantly abandoned at the loud growling from beneath him; Sapnap squirming as they adjust the fluff covering their mouth.
Just as he looks up Sapnap feels sick, all around the person’s mouth are small hand shaped burns; perfectly sized for a magma cube of his, or his friends, stature. The growling below him gets louder. In an instant Sapnap is fighting even harder, kicking and screaming, begging, for them to just let him go. They don’t listen to him. Instead they let their tongue slip out from betwixt their lips, allowing it to curl around Sapnap’s legs.
Despite his trying the tongue stays tight on his legs, and he cries out as it begins to retract, pulling him along. Just like his friends, and possibly others before them, Sapnap presses his hands down onto the skin around the person’s mouth; allowing his hand to burn, and the smell of burnt frog fills the room. Not that Sapnap knows what that smells like.
Easily, seemingly easily, he’s pulled into their mouth; legs caught in the back of their throat. Sapnap tries his best to fight back, but the saliva he coated in is sticky, so sticky in fact that as he covered in it he can’t find himself able to move. And just as easily as he was dragged into the mouth, he’s swallowed down. He slips down their throat quickly, and before he knows it, Sapnap finds himself packed tightly into their stomach.
Said stomach gurgles lightly around him, it presses on him greedily; and he can feel as the person outside relaxes, can feel as they place a hand onto him. Air is stolen from him briefly as they belch, causing the stomach to mostly empty of static air; but also for the dull acids to rise and for the stomach walls themself to crush inwards onto him.
Time feels slow inside, the stomach around him softly, gently, churning and gurgling him away. Acid washing across Sapnap’s body, pulling of layer after layer of his flesh; strangely it doesn’t hurt. Sapnap finds himself reminded of home in a way; he could almost pretend he was under lava, it was hot and liquid-like, but the constant noise was enough to keep him grounded. Eventually though he gives in, was forced to give in, the liquid around him rising and rising; until finally it covered him completely, and it melted him down.
Easily taking his soft form and pressing it down, any energy was siphoned off of his fresh corpse, and any solid mess left over was easily compressed. Smushed together easily by the powerful stomach walls, until finally…
Dream woke up with a loud belch, and was greeted with a tightly pressed verdant froglight. They grabbed and pocketed it, putting it with the others in their inventory. Their stomach grumbled softly as they did so, but Dream just rolled their eyes, taking a few mouthfuls of soup to calm it before they snuggled back up. They were still tired.
Just as before they drifted off, Dream smiled; that one was the best tasting by far.
