Chapter 1: Prologue
Chapter Text
Dove smiled as his kids was running down the hallways. As he walked down the hallways, he slowly looked at the mirror and smiled as himself. So many adventures, so many tasks, oh how he misses them.
"Father! Father! Look!" the young cookie shouted as he held a picture of Pure Vanilla Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie, Dark Cacao Cookie, Dark Choco Cookie, Golden Cheese Cookie, and him, holding hands. He smiled happily and kneeled down to his eye level. "What a wonderful photo, my dear. Go and show it to Mama Holly."
He giggled as he rubbed his cheek then waddled down the hallway, making him adorably cute!
He walked into the room and saw Hollyberry Cookie, holding the young Huckleberry Cookie in her arms while cooking some dinner, dressed in the most cutest suit ever. He looked down at him and when he opened his eyes, oh, he was like an angel from heaven. Hollyberry offered Dove a taste of the juice and he licked his lips in delight as he loved it.
He walked over to Pure Vanilla Cookie who was also holding another baby in his arms, French Vanilla Cookie, who was suckling on some milk from a bottle. PV kissed Dove's cheek who giggled and hugged him. The baby squeaked and they laughed as they interrupted their moment. They gave him kisses on the cheek and the baby felt happy.
One child, was running around, playing with his other twin around PV and Dove. Choco Panda Cookie and Muddy Cookie laughed then Cacao picked them up. They tackled him and smothered him with tickles.
Dove couldn't stop giggling as he watched his boys. "Brother! Can we go and play around with the Chocolate Cake Monster?" they asked to Dark Choco Cookie who looked at them with a smile. "Fine but don't let Esterhazy get you two."
"Yay!" They said before leaving out the room. Golden Cheese Cookie was laughing while teaching Cottage Swirl Cookie how to fly. Oh how, it was such a delight to see her family then she slowly walked towards to White Lily Cookie, who was rocking another baby softly. Lotus Lily Cookie, the sweetheart of the family. Surrounded by the Garden of Lilies, it always gave him such happiness in the family and how it filled the Green House, it just gave him a feeling that he was in peace.
The Cookies all gathered in the living room, eating their dinner then Muddy Cookie asked, "Father...can you tell us of how Cookies were made?"
Dove smiled as he looked at the fireplace. He then nodded yes at Muddy. They looked at each other in excitement then gathered around Dove to hear the story. He slowly grabbed a book from the nearest bookshelf then sat in front of the kids and the parents. He slowly opened the book and that's where the story begins...
How did the first Cookies come to be?
There is a tale, as old as the world...
The tale of the First Kitchen.
Once upon a time,
a time no Cookie recalls,
lived Three Witches wise.
In their Kitchen, by the stove,
they kept a precious recipe,
the recipe for power and wisdom...
When the time came,
in the kitchen they gathered.
Colorful sugar crystals, silky butter,
moonlight, and mysterious whispers.
For four days and nights, they mixed and mixed
until they had a mountain of dough!
Only one ingredient left to add:
a small pinch of Life Powder.
The most potent ingredient
to bring any dessert to life!
When the first Cookies
came out of the oven baked,
they chirped at the witches
like little birds...
"Will you feed us? Will you feed us?"
"No."
"But instead, we will have you..."
"For dinner!"
Sweet little Cookies!
In fear they fled.
But the witches' legs were like pillars,
and like snares were their fingers.
And the Cookies were so small, so frail!
Only one Cookie, fast and tiny,
made it past the witches' grasp!
And so this Cookie ran and ran,
until their body crushed or crumbled,
until the very end!
...But was it truly the end?
No.
Many have forgotten that this story goes on...
The leftover dough from that fateful night,
discarded by the witches three,
baked to perfection under the hot sunlight!
And this is how...
the very land we live upon came to be!
Is this the truth or just a legend?
No Cookie is here to tell...
The kids oooed in awe then squealed. "Now we got to know how you guys finally met after the Dark Flour War!" Dove chuckled then looked at the Ancients. "Should we tell them, dears?" he asked as he was about to close to book. Hollyberry smirked. "Of course. Besides, they might not know the..." Hollyberry grabbed Dove's hand and twirled him around before dipping him. "Romance~" she cooed. Dove couldn't help but giggle as he was flustered. She kissed which made all the kids giggle softly at the moment. "Now H-Holly...not in f-front of the kids!"
"Oh, why not?" Cacao asked jokingly while walking towards us, slowly putting his arms around my waist. "Besides, it didn't take long for me to get my little bird to sing me song in the bedroom~" He slowly growled in his ear seductively and I yelped softly. "Now you two! Let me just tell them the story!" he shouted. They giggled then sat back with the others.
"Alright, allow me to tell you the story of what happened during the Dark Flour War and after the Dark Flour War."
The Kids nodded yes while getting excited. Dove smiled and then he started telling the story which is the story I'm about to tell you...right now!
Chapter 2: The Cookies of Darkness
Summary:
Ever since the Dark Flour War, Pure Vanilla Cookie used the last of the moon magic to put Dove Cookie into a crystal, in the center of Crispia. In the Vanilla Kingdom, it had said that the Cookies of Darkness made their base there in the throne room. Pomegranate Cookie, the leader, has been gathering up her plans to bring the Master back to consume the land in eternal darkness but...the way to do it is with the Prince's magic and cooperation. Without, half of the Master's powers will fail.
Of course, with a little bit of persuading, it was going to be easy. Oh how WRONG she was...
Chapter Text
Since the Dark Flour War ended, Prince Dove Cookie, was trapped in a Crystal that was buried deep within Earthbread in the center of Crispia. Cookies have been trying to look for him ever since but it was never found. Until a day like no other, when the full moon was high in the sky, at the center of the Crispia, it shined a light through the path to Prince Dove Cookie's burial and that is when the ground started to shake.
Cookies have said that when he flew up to the sky, it created a Silhouette of an Angel, calling him the Moon Angel.
That is when he was finally free from his torment and that is when he was captured by the Cookies of Darkness, followers of Dark Enchantress Cookie, and devotedly followed the orders of the Dark Master.
Cookies said that every thousand years all witches from near and far come together for the Night of the Witches. And on that very night, Dark Enchantress Cookie was born. A dose of concentrated dark magic and poisonous scarlet pomegranate syrup gives this Cookie a deliciously evil taste. Since the moment of her creation, Dark Enchantress Cookie was filled with sweet ambition, she brought chaos to the Night of the Witches gathering and escaped taking with it the secrecies of the witches.
After the Dark Flour War, she was no where to be found. The Cookies of Darkness are doing everything in her power to bring her back.
- Licorice Cookie
With a great portion of the blackest licorice extract in his dough and a grim-looking scythe, this Cookie is up to no good. From a young age, Licorice Cookie dreamed of becoming a wizard but never received the recognition he so rightfully deserved. Eventually, he turned to the forbidden arts of Black Magic. Black Magic draws upon the cosmic void that carries dangerous and destructive abilities, manipulating the very principles of nature. With time, Licorice Cookie assembled a small army of Chewy Licorice Servants raised to do his bidding. On his dark path, he met Dark Enchantress Cookie. The might of the sorceress astonished Licorice Cookie, and it didn't take long before he swore his allegiance. Now, the Cookie is working flat out to earn his new mistress's favor. And it seems Dark Enchantress Cookie is not easily pleased, as Licorice Cookie's diary filled with everyday rants and complaints could fill up a library.
- Poison Mushroom Cookie
He is one of his underlings, performing task given by either them or Pomegranate Cookie. He is always peaceful and he is always daydreaming. Like a child, he is playful and would love Licorice Cookie, since he always hangs around him a lot.
- Pomegranate Cookie
Dressed in scarlet ceremonial attire with glittering pomegranate drop decorations, Pomegranate Cookie was raised in the lands of powerful sorcerers as a young priestess to the Sacred Pomegranate Tree. But when she was foretold to follow a great darkness, she started to doubt her upbringing. When an unstoppable dark force overran her homeland, Pomegranate Cookie already know she had met her destiny, gladly joining her dark Master. With such boundless devotion, she believes that there is no such thing as true light, but only true darkness.
- Dark Choco Cookie
Long ago, this Cookie stepped into the world of Darkness to become a hero, but fate had a different plan: Dark Choco Cookie was unfortunate enough to happen the forbidden Strawberry Jam Sword. As soon as the would-be hero grasped the weapon, the dark power of the magic took over. From that moment on, Dark Choco Cookie's life changed forever. Now, dark clouds and thunderstorms follow this ill-fated Cookie, feared by all. it is said that Dark Choco Cookie is still fighting against the magic sword's control.
When the captured the Prince, they knew that with his power, they will finally bring their Master a fitting place to rule all over Earthbread, bringing chaos and destruction to the land. I wonder how it will end...
In where the meeting took place, in the fallen Vanilla Kingdom, the table of Crimson Red was at the center of the room. In a room full of nothing but darkness, it was a fitting place to hold a meeting. The three Cookies, Pomegranate, Licorice, and Mushroom were there, waiting for Dark Choco Cookie. When the door opened, Dark Choco Cookie walked in and Pomegranate crossed her arms.
"Late again, Dark Choco Cookie? How amusing..." she said.
"Seriously, how's it possible you're slower than Poison Mushroom Cookie? Even my Licorice Servants are speedier than a slowpoke like you." Licorice complained.
"Huuuuh? I'm faaaast...? Yaaay, I'm fast!" Poison Mushroom Cookie excitedly said.
(Okay, I'll admit, he is adorable! Comment down below to see if you agree)
"No! It means you're slow, too, OK?!"
Choco sighed in annoyance. "Fine."
"Dark Choco Cookie. I will not bar you from acting on your own, but your actions cannot interfere with the mesmerizing genius of our Master." she said. She got some pomegranate gems from her pocket and gave it to Choco. "Your orders are...simple. Plant pomegranate gems far and wide over Earthbread." she ordered Choco.
"And what happens next?" Licorice asked in excitement.
"If all goes according to plan, the culmination of our Master's plan!! Earthbread will be devoured by the Darkness." She slowly hid her smile with the sleeve of her ceremonial dress. And how that smile rose the fear of the Prince. "Imagine a world consumed by endless, rippling DARKNESS, thirsty for power...! A sublime and fitting landscape for our Master's return. Do you think the same...my dear Prince?"
She looked over to the table and there he was, trapped in the Pomegranate diamond-like crystal, formed by Pomegranate Cookie herself, to keep the Prince. No matter how many illusions and manipulations she put into his mind, the Prince never falls for them. For I shall say, he has seen way too many lies!
The Prince slowly opened his silver eyes and slowly looks at Pomegranate Cookie with a glare.
"Your plan is...much more crass than usual." Choco commented.
Pomegranate Cookie gasped then growled. "Such insolence! But now that our Master is awake, this plan cannot fail! All of you--everybody! Go where you are needed! NOW!" Pomegranate Cookie demanded. They all went to fulfill their duties. The Prince closed her eyes as he felt tired. The crystal he is in, is draining his energy, slowly turning into Black Magic, then transported into his system.
I have forgotten to tell you this but they are planning on turning the Prince into a Vessel of Darkness, the Black Raven. It was said that during a Blood Moon, every hundred of years, it will give any Cookie the power of a magic that was forgotten into this world and this magic was called Eclipse. Turning the moon into a Lunar Eclipse, it will turn red like the jam in the cookies' dough then...the whole world will be covered in Darkness. A black dome covered in black chocolate thorns that hardens and never breaks and then everything will turn black. Thank goodness it's not true! Unless...it is.
Licorice Cookie came back, tired, of course, but getting pretty tired.
"You've returned. Have you handled your task successfully?" she asked.
"Oh really? Here's a thought. YOU ARE NOT OUR MASTER, OKAY? 'Do this, do that, blah blah blooey!'" Licorice complained as he was up on Pomegranate Cookie's face. The Prince slowly opened her eyes and then slowly looked up at the both of them.
"It appears Dark Choco Cookie's grown a spine... Hmph. As long as he has completed his task, I care not."
"Yeah, he's a real piece of work... Always mouthing off, dragging us down... As if he has a plan... which he doesn't..."
The way that Licorice Cookie was talking about Dark Choco Cookie was making the Prince boil to the core. The anger that built up from his heart stirred inside. But he kept silent as he watched the two bickered.
"Silence! There's no need to wait. I will now begin casting the INCANTATION." She slowly closed her eyes and spoke the incantation then she slowly shook her bells. But...nothing happened. Licorice looked around and blinked. "Nothing's happening?"
"The incantation has failed! I do not understand... The spell was sure to succeed." Pomegranate Cookie thought on the matter, muttering to herself.
"Tough break! But anyhoo--I gotta know--Did Dark Choco Cookie mess up?" Licorice Cookie asked. And I would think he knew the answer. "Dark Choco Cookie... I knew he has yet to fully commit to our cause!"
"What else is new? He's always been like that! He betrayed his home. He ran away. Now he's doing the same thing to us!"
Before they could continue, the Prince slowly touched the crystal then it shattered into pieces. Their eyes widened in shock and then Licorice Cookie quickly bowed down as Pomegranate Cookie looked at him in shock. The Prince slowly levitated off the table
"I do not want to hear another word from the two of you." He said as he looked at both of them. He looked at Poison Mushroom Cookie and then slowly patted his head.
"I do not care for whatever thoughts reign in your mind. I never cared for such things until now and I despise your lack of empathy! I've loathed you from the very beginning and I want no words coming out of your tongue! He was never a cookie with such a reckless abandon... Cursed by the very sword he carries, he was blinded for what he truly is. I do not care if you think if he has an insolent bravado! NEVER DOES HE HAVE PETTY THOUGHTLESSNESS!!!" When his voice roared through the meeting room, it shook of where they stood, leaving them in a trembling mess as they stared at him. His eyes glared at them and he growled. "I shall say this once and take them lightly. Never...ever...talk such words about...MY SON!"
He stormed out of the meeting room and when the door slammed behind him, the table broke in two. They were shaking, they were terrified, they were completely...in fear. The first time that Pomegranate Cookie ever felt fear and it was something that she can never get away from.
After incident, Dove was holding Choco's hand since he was allowed to talk to him alone. They looked around the forest area to make sure they weren't being followed. Then they looked at each other. Choco dropped his sword and then he hugged Dove tightly, sniffling softly. Dove smiled as he does so.
"My son..." Dove said quietly as he used his magic to create the dome around the open part of the forest, so they wouldn't be seen and so they wouldn't be disturbed. Choco hugged tightly as his head was buried on his chest.
"It's alright..." Dove cooed as he stroked Choco's head. They both went to the shade of the three cherry blossom trees. He grabbed a basket then he started picking some flowers and peaches from the cherry blossom trees. Choco hesitatingly joined in.
"I am proud that you didn't plant the gem." I said looking at him. He slowly nodded yes but then he quickly hugged at Dove. "I n-never wanted to do such things..." Dove looked down and smiled. He stroked his head and then offered him a peach. "Of course, dear. I know this... I know you mean no harm to the Kingdom." Dove said as he kissed the top of his forehead.
He looked down then he sighed. Dove noticed this then sighed.
He suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and it's breaking his heart. He also has a depressive disorder which makes sense of his somber attitude and forlorn outlook on life.
"Are you sure we are going to escape from the Darkness?" He asked as he continued picking out flowers.
"Indeed. Look what it has done to you..." He said as he stroked Choco's cheek, looking at his wounded eye. "They have manipulated you into such terrible things that I can't even imagine how you put up with it..." Dove then sat down with him under the shade before they became baked in this hot weather then he felt Choco's head lay on his shoulder.
"We have to keep it a secret from Pomegranate Cookie, Licorice Cookie, and Poison Mushroom Cookie because they have the eyes and ears for the Master. You must keep diligent or unless Pomegranate will bring you to your illusions again...and I'm never going to let that happen."
Choco looked up at me and then a tear ran down his eye. Oh, how he was hiding these feelings so much that it was wonderful. He is finally showing the emotions around Dove, which he has the ability to let Cookies show their true feelings because he's known to be so gentle.
"You are still the Prince of the Dark Cacao Kingdom... Though Pomegranate Cookie might not say so, she is completely wrong. For she doesn't know what you're truly made of." Dove said as he looked into his eyes and hold his face, rubbing his cheeks. He couldn't help it. He squished Choco's cheeks and Choco let him do so since he didn't mind at all. Choco then put his hands on Dove's cheek, squishing them as well until he tackled Dove then looked into his eyes. "I can't take it anymore~!"
Dove's eyes widened when he became smothered in kisses and he yelped loudly then after a few minutes have passed. Dove panted softly while feeling himself in heat. He slowly tried to get up but Choco slowly grabbed his leg and pulled him back to him. "Son! For Pete sake--" "Come here~!"
Dove was smothered with kisses again and then he was pinned down. Choco looked into Dove's eyes and then Dove slowly blushed. Choco slowly kissed him, putting his hands on his cheeks with his eyes closed.
(This is going to be a Father/Son bonding time!... I think)
Choco moaned quietly in the kiss while wrapping Dove's legs around his waist. "Father..."
Dove slowly looked into his eyes while a deep red covered her cheeks. "S-Son..."
He smirked slowly and then started kissing all over his neck before going a bit lower to his chest. Choco slowly took off his cape and threw it to the side. He took off the upper part of his armor and those abs lord... Blessed with such happiness, it's something. "I am truly blessed~" Dove commented then he slowly looked up at him. Choco slowly kissed his forehead and they slowly started making out while holding each other.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in the Vanilla Kingdom, in the throne room, the two cookies were bickering: Pomegranate Cookie and Dark Choco Cookie. Oh, how it was annoying for the Prince as he watched from his chair.
"Your total incompetence has made re-do our work." She slowly smirked under the sleeve of her dress. "Don't you know hot to follow orders? Or right, as prince of a failed Kingdom, you wouldn't know HOW to listen, would you?" She asked tauntingly.
Choco's growled then stared right at Pomegranate Cookie.
"You can insult ME as much as you want... But you've crossed the line. You dare... to insult my homeland?! Trust me--you will live to regret it!" he insulted Pomegranate Cookie.
"N-N-Now just hold on, you two! Stop! Chill!" Licorice said, trying to break up the fight. Dove kept looking at the three as he slowly hid a frown as this was very much an intense situation for him. For many years since he was with Cacao, he has been the sweetest father to Choco but since the day he banished Choco, Dove could never forgive himself. As the father/mother of Choco, he has always watched over Choco when they trained. He has loved it when they would take walks in the snow and gather fruits from the trees. Though not much plant life was around, he showed Choco the process of life and it was wonderful. He would even try to make a sword that looks so similar to Dark Cacao's sword, which was adorable!
Now look at this, his son... Consumed by the Darkness... And fed by Pomegranate Cookie's lies, her illusions, and visions.
"SILENCE, Licorice Cookie! I wonder... I wonder just how high our 'noble prince's' anger can reach."
"H-Hey! What's up with you all of a sudden?"
"Weren't YOU the one who betrayed your kingdom? The past infects the present. Never forget your place." Pomegranate warned Choco.
"No! I didn't choose this path!"
"A 'Good Prince' to the end." She scoffed. "The question is, how long can you pull this off, I wonder?" She then smirked at Choco devilishly. "Need I remind you, you reduced your very own Kingdom to rubble. Has that painful grunt been permanently SEARED into your memories?" She taunted.
"ENOUGH!" He shouted. "I've not regrets or guilt... It was my will, my choice."
"Have some pride, Dark Choco Cookie. For now, I can only see that you lack the strength to accept your... 'terminal fate.'"
He growled very loudly. "You...! I say we end this. Right here, right now." He said as he raised his sword and pointed it at Pomegranate Cookie.
"You arrogance is adorable, amusing even... Will those you betrayed take you back with loving arms should you strike me down? Is that 'your plan'?" She asked, wanting to bring the anger inside of him.
The Prince anger rose as tears streamed down his cheeks. He was going to do everything right and it didn't matter how he'll do it, he will do EVERYTHING in his power to make everything right! His hands on his lap as he clenched his long skirt, his hands shaking a bit.
"Say one more word. I dare you... Don't you see? This is the only path that remains!"
"There are other paths! But you are too weak and ignorant to find them! Need you see it unfold before you?! Behold! The proof of your weakness!" Pomegranate Cookie said but then she was slapped on the face by the Prince.
She collapsed to the ground and then she slowly looked up at the Prince in shock who looked down at her with dark eyes.
"Don't you dare say such things to my SON! You, out of all the others, says that there is more than one path but you choose a lonely path as well. And that is following your Master's plan. And I remember you've said that one day that there is no such thing as true light...but only true darkness." Dove said as he walked towards Choco. He lowered his sword and then rubbed Choco's head who was trembling, keeping his sword in his arms.
"Never, ever, ever say such things. The things he encountered are the unbearable and you should never say such things. Since he first picked the Strawberry Jam Sword, he didn't know of the evilness inside and that was never his fault! For he only wanted to protect his Kingdom from harm and what do I hear? I hear him saying he ABANDONED his Kingdom and the burden he carries grows even more. He was forced as the sword he carries is bounded to his dough for all eternity and I mean it! HE WAS INNOCENT AND NO COOKIE BELIEVED HIM! I shall say this..."
His soul jam glowed and then he growled. "His place is in the DARK CACAO KINGDOM! His purpose is among the WALLS of the GREAT CHOCOLATE WALL! Never again... WILL HE BE CONSUMED BY DARKNESS!"
And then...everything went white.
As the sun shined upon the land, Dove slowly opened her eyes. Laying on the soft grass beside him was Choco, who was still unconscious. He slowly groaned then sat up as he rubbed his head. "W...What happened?" he asked as he looked around.
Dove sat up slowly and then smiled. "We're...finally free." he said as tears streamed down his cheeks.
Choco looked at him with shock. His eyes slowly widened then he slowly looked up to the sky. "Free...?" he asked.
Dove nodded as he took his hand and smiled. "Free..."
Choco slowly picked up his sword and then looked out to the horizon with Dove. "To adventure?"
Choco looked back at him and smiled for the first time and nodded yes. "To adventure."
He said then they both giggled and ran to the distance.
Another chapter, another adventure.

Chapter Text
When Dove and Choco escaped from Darkness's wrath, they decided to head to the Vanilla Kingdom or in this case, it was the Castle in the Sky. It was unknown of how the Castle was in the Sky but the answer could only point up Dark Enchantress Cookie.
When they entered the castle, tears streamed down the cheeks of the Prince who looked around. The Kingdom that he ruled with Pure Vanilla Cookie, for millennia, that was supposed to be a realm of peace, harmony, and healing, turns into a land filled with Wafflebots, strawberry jam, and great cookie crumbs, it fills him with tears. Choco slowly rubbed his shoulders as he looked around.
"How could she? Dark Enchantress Cookie..."
He sniffled as he wiped the tears off his cheeks. Choco helped Dove up and then walked with him down the hallway. Dove slowly giggled and smiled. "I remember that Vanilla and I went on a tour around the castle and I must say, it was quite wonderful. The architect did so well."
They passed through some portraits of the ancients and tears ran down his eyes even more when he looked at the ancients.
Pure Vanilla Cookie..
White Lily Cookie...
Hollyberry Cookie...
Dark Cacao Cookie...
And Golden Cheese Cookie...
And there was me, in the center of the star, holding my staff, kind of similar to White Lily Cookie's staff but it was white and had wings instead of leaves and I instead of a white lily flower, it was a white rose. "That staff... My staff..."
Choco looked at it in amazement then slowly looked at the necklace. It was a White Rose Soul Jam that was rose-like.
Memories of the past started to flood his mind as he remembered the day when he declared his oath to the land on his Coronation Day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone was here in the Vanilla Castle's Chamber of Audiences, where it was crowded as they were dressed in all of their best from every type of Kingdom. The Vanilla Kingdom, the Hollyberry Kingdom, the Dark Cacao Kingdom, and the Golden Cheese Kingdom. I felt so happy but nervous at the same time as I was behind the doors but I could hear every word that Vanilla said.
"We are gathered here today in celebration of a momentous occasion. Our dear friend and love, Dove Cookie, has done many extraordinary things since he has served his duty in Earthbread. He even helped us bring peace upon the land, like a Family, instead of pride. But today, he did something extraordinary. He brought Peace among the lands with not a single crumble in his body. He has always believed that peace will come without fighting and he has proved such greatness. He has proved to be Earthbread's Prince and the Ancient of all of Crispia. Ladies and Gentlecookies, may I present for the first time: Prince Dove Cookie, the Light of Peace."
The doors opened as I walked in with the choir behind me. I smiled softly as I walked down to the Altar. I saw the Ancients smiling and some of them were crying happy tears, including Cacao, which was adorable. The cookie bowed down as it held my crown on the soft pillow. I kneeled down and then Vanilla put my crown on my head, showing the symbols of the Kingdoms. I looked at Holly and the others and smiled happily. I turned around for everyone to see then opened my Angel Wings.
After that, we went to the balcony and waved to the denizens that were outside while standing with them. Vanilla whispered in my ear, "Say something, Prince."
"Oh..." He cleared his throat as the crowd silenced.
"A long time ago, I've been friends with the Ancients ever since. I've learned many things upon that time. From the Vanilla Kingdom, I've learned about the truth at heart, in the Hollyberry Kingdom, I've learned about the passion in light, in the Dark Cacao Kingdom, I've learned the resolution of the choices you have to make and in the Golden Cheese Kingdom, I've learned about the pride in all of it's glory. So here, in this Kingdom, I could honestly say: I wouldn't be here to stand before as a humble Prince but a cookie who will keep the Peace throughout all of Earthbread. No more jam shed on the fields, no more weapons will they carry upon the hands we stain, for we are, Earthbread, and my oath to you is to make the world safe and in peace. No fighting shall be held on my watch. So I thank you, everyone, for what you've done to keep the peace."
The Denizens applauded and cheered when they heard the words of the Prince. He smiled and felt all the Ancients hug him happily.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He giggled quietly as his feelings consumed him. They then walked down the corridor while he looks at memories, deep within his dough he felt lost as he didn't know what to do. Really. After a while, they encountered a little of cake hounds. They jumped onto their hind legs and barked at them. They smiled and picked some of them while snuggling softly.
He then heard footsteps coming from the corridor and from the shadows, a smiled appeared. He walked out of the shadows slowly and into the light, looking at the two cookies. He looked a lot like that Choco Werehound Brute that kept on chasing Dove because of how cute he is and mostly trying to smash. Not smash him with a hammer, but smash him until he can't walk lol. But anyway, the Werehound bowed down with a smile and kissed his hand like the gentleman he is.
"I have been awaiting your arrival, Dark Choco Cookie and Prince Dove Cookie." He said as he looked into my eyes and offered his arm for him to coddle. He slowly blushed a deep red and then took his arm. "Please, follow me. Your presence is requested elsewhere." he stated as he started walking down the corridor with Dove's arm around his.
"And why should we trust you?" Dark Choco asked, following him but they were very cautious.
"One of great power awaits you. If you would, please... This way."
Choco growled and then he sighed softly as he followed. Dove held Choco's hand while walking towards the dining room.
Choco growled as he got in front of Dove, holding his sword close to him as he looked at the Cookies of Darkness. On the right, there was Licorice Cookie and Pomegranate Cookie and on the left was Poison Mushroom Cookie and empty seat where Dark Choco Cookie is supposed to be. Then at the head of the table...was...Dark Enchantress Cookie.
"Welcome, our dear Princes. I must say, I am honored to be in the presence of his majesty." she said as she looked at me. Dove looked away as he felt humiliated. He does hate it when Dark Enchantress Cookie try to manipulate him because as soon as he is wrapped around her claws, he will be under her control.
"We're not going to be swayed by some food, you devil!" Choco growled out. Dove slowly hugged his arm as he looked at Dark Enchantress Cookie. A feeling developed inside his dough and he wished it was courage...but it was fear. It terrified him the most.
"May I help you with your belongings?" he asked. He slowly took off his coat and then let him hang it up. "Thank you sir. Now please, take your seat?" he asked kindly.
He sat right next to Choco as he looked away. "As I promised...I have been waiting at the top of a new world. You are the first Cookies to pass the gates--to first to be PERSONALLY welcomed into my fold. Come...let us have a heart-to-heart discussion."
Dove slowly rests his head onto Choco's shoulder, trembling while cutting the jelly steak in front of her. The littler of cake hounds behind me were whimpering softly under the presence of Dark Enchantress Cookie.
"I see you have produced a litter of cake hounds. How...adorable." She dared said as a small smile appear on her face, almost as if she was being forced to smile. "I merely looked upon them." She said as she looked at the litter, glaring at them with a menacing look. They hid behind me and Choco more. Dove eyed Dark Enchantress Cookie with a glare and hissed under his breath.
"Before we progress any further... I have a question for you, our 'esteemed' guests. Do you know the reason why we, Cookies, were created?" she asked thoroughly.
Choco and Dove stared at each other as they didn't know how to answer the question but it seems...it's time to tell you the truth of how Dove Cookie knows all about this...from a different perspective of when Dark Enchantress Cookie was born under the flames of the Oven and how he knew the secret to the Cookies...
He became the Prince of Peace so that they could live in peace... From the terrain of the Witches who created them and had them for dinner... And how Dark Enchantress Cookie ended it all in one strike, leaving Dove Cookie in sadness, grief, and fear.
Chapter 4: The Truth in the Tower of Sweet Chaos
Summary:
Dove Cookie has kept a secret from the Ancients ever since he went to the Tower of Sweet Chaos. He knew about the St. Pastry Order since they were his family. He has kept the secret since he was baked and hide it forever since. This part of the memory involves before the Dark Flour War came, during the time of when White Lily Cookie learned the truth about the Witches as you heard in the Prologue.
Chapter Text
A long time ago, after the Dark Flour War, he learned a very hard truth about where cookies were made and their true purpose was. And he felt despair for almost a decade. He has never told anyone about the things he's seen and he wishes he could forget them... But they can never be forgotten, thanks to those cursed cookies, Pomegranate Cookie and...Dark Enchantress Cookie...
He was in the Chamber of the Wise as he looked out the window. It was the westernmost tower of the Vanilla Castle that belongs to the Sages and wizards of the highest rank. The Chamber is where they conduct their research, where they partake in heated debates, and sometimes, where the old colorful smoke above the castle is coming from.
But anyway, he sits by window, reading a book about the Witches over and over again. His curiosity peaked when he wondered how the Witches made them and why did they make the cookies...
As the question lingeried into his mind, Vanilla slowly tapped on his shoulder with a smile. "Dovey, I didn't expect to find you here in the Chamber of the Wise. Is this where you mostly hide from all the worries of the Kingdom?" he asked with a chuckle. He sat right beside Dove as Dove smiled. "I'm sorry, Vanilla, I just have been wanting to read this book about the First Kitchen."
He looked at the book that he was reading and smiled his usually smile. "Dovey, you didn't have to hide from me from reading now." Dove slowly smiled but it turned into a frown when he slowly looked out the window again. Vanilla put his hands on his cheeks then turned his head to look into his eyes.
"Darling, what's wrong?" Vanilla asked.
"From the book, it said that the Witches made us...but why did they make us? That's all I'm trying to figure out."
Vanilla slowly let out a sigh and looked down as he moved a side of his hair to his ear. "Such worries need to vanish, my love. I don't want you to worry about something as such as this. Be grateful that our dough is as Crispy as the sun and the jam inside our dough flows without any hesitation."
Dove looked down and then snuggled against Vanilla's chest. Vanilla smiled and pecked Dove's forehead. "Now...we must rest for tonight."
Vanilla grabbed his hands and lead him down the stairs and into their bedroom. He put down his hat and took off his clothes. Dove took off his clothes as well then put on something comfortable to wear for the night. He snuggled under the frosting sheets as Vanilla did and then smiled. He put his arms around Dove and held him tighter against him and fell asleep. So did Dove but after a few hours Dove sneaked out to go to the Tower and when he got there, his eyes widened when he trembled lightly. "The Godly Cake Tower... The ancient holy place... It's as if the sky rested on its top! Just...how tall is it?" he asked himself. He walked down the path of the flaming oven, looking around. "Dozen of candles... Intricate cutlery and decorations... This goblet, these forks and knives! Everything is so gigantic... The Witches might have feasted here...for days..."
He slowly then got close to the oven that burned a roaring fire inside that he never dared to get any closer. "So ancient and eaten by the rust of old, how is it...burning hot?"
He slowly closed his eyes then screams when he saw the visions of cookies running. He fell to his knees and then pants heavily. He slowly stood up, shaking them hugged himself as he walked up the spiral staircase. "In this very place...the first Cookies took their first steps... Now, the air has been fouled with smoke and burnt butter, like an overbaked cake."
He sighed quietly as he continued his way up the spiral stairs. "Let's see what the Witches had to hide..."
A stray Cake Hound barked at me and it was so adorable of how it barked. He giggled and pet the cake hound. Then it pushed him gently because it wanted him to follow. "Alright, lead the way, dear friend." It barked while running away but not too far for him to follow.
The cake hound led to him to a place that was very different. It almost looked like a factory as he saw other cake monsters and then a certain type of cookie talked to the monsters hat worked with he batter and the dough. He had dark red skin with two toned eyes: one black with an ellipse-shaped sapphire pupil, the other sapphire-blue. His hair is black with red highlights; styled in a messy side part that's pulled back in a ponytail. He has a striped red and white cake arm with a white palm and backhand and a normal cookie arm, which holds his sword. He wears a red shirt and a dark red coat with a fluffy red and white fur collar. He also wears black boots with rubies on them, similar to the ruby on his sword.
"Knead the batter, my beasts! KNEAD HARDER! And make sure not to stick to it!" he demanded. The shaman nodded as he continued to work.
"Keep the bonfires burning! Throw in more wood! LET THE FLAMES BURN THE VERY SKY!" A clang was heard. As he watched from the distance, he ntoiced that they were making...more monsters--Like a whole army of them! "The time has come! PULL OUT THE TRAY!" he shouted out. When they did, a newborn Cake Hound rose from the Oven. Cripsy as ever and very very cute. He greeted the cake hound with a small pat while smiling before saying, "Welcome your new brethren..."
He saw another cookie to see to check the progress of how the cookies worked. "Working hard as always, Red Velvet Cookie." So his name was Red Velvet Cookie. "Now isn't that a surprise! Pomegranate Cookie, in the dough!" And the red cookie must be Pomegranate Cookie. "Did Dark Enchantress Cookie send you to watch over the preparations? Is she still reluctant to come in person?" he asked with a sort of tone while watching the monsters work.
She looked at Red Velvet with a glare. "...Don't you dare question the Master's ways! No matter the reason, my presence here will foster OUR progress. Tell me, have you made any progress?" she asked.
"Hmph. Our numbers are increasing by the day, with or without your pestering. See for yourself: twice as many soldiers in but a moon!" He said proudly as the monsters were in rows, depending on the type of cake monster that is.
"Twice? Hmm... Perhaps, I was too optimistic to hope you were capable enough to increase our forces tenfold."
He laughed as he stroked his hair. "Hah! Spill your poison as much as you want! There are limits to what I can achieve in current circumstances. The oven is eaten by ruse, and the batter is too stale! Most of the newborn Cakes don't make it."
"The tower is the scared ground of baking. All that is needed can be found here. Solve the problem. No matter what it takes."
"Easier said than done." He said as he put his sword behind his back while watching them work. A skelecake grunt quickly headed towards him and reported some news. "Rah! Gah!" For short: "The stray Cake Hound has found the Prince of Peace, Dove Cookie." His eyes widened then he smirked. "...So he has finally come. A new rank in our numbers. The Prince of Peace, the Cookie of Translucent Blessing."
Pomegranate Cookie crossed her arms and then thought for a moment. "Interesting... Bring her here for the Master. Oh, and try to come back before my tea goes cold."
His eyes widened when he notices that he has been spotted. He quickly ran as fast as he could to get out of there but no matter how hard she tried, these monsters would not stop and then everything went black.
When he slowly opened his eyes, he noticed that he was surrounded by cake monsters but how could he think that such monsters have such sweetest temptations. A cookie passed through the crowd and then looked down at him. His cake arm slowly supported his chin, making him look up and he trembled.
"Do my eyes deceive me? The Cookie of Translucent Blessing has come to gaze upon our beings. We are truly blessed for we didn't know such a cookie would be attracted to sweet things." He said as he looked down at him. What did he mean about Translucent Blessing? What does he mean by that?
"Dark Enchantress Cookie will be very pleased to see such a cookie in her presence. But Pomegranate Cookie must cleanse you...before...you are tainted by the lies of others. As we ask of you is to join us, join us with our cause. You are just tainted with lies that you can't understand the full truth of such wonderful things."
He asked quietly, "What...do you mean?"
He chuckled while stroking his chin then he thought for a moment. "You...don't know. Oh! Splendid! We have so much to tell you, to help you, not like those friends of yours."
He blinked in confusion. "What do you mean...'so much to catch up on'? What do you mean by this?"
"You will see..." He motioned the ferocious cake wolves to gentle push him along so he can follow.
As they walked, he started to talk. "What you see is what you see: nothing more, nothing less. These sounds that you hear, my dear Cookie, is the Cake Factory working day and night." He saw cake monsters that worked on the batter, the decorations, the making of the dough was something that has been...surprisingly accurate but he's been afraid sometimes that they might fall into their own demise.
"Such...wonderfulness..." He said quietly.
He smiled and then he held his hand before leading him to...Pomegranate Cookie.
As he walked with him, the monsters he saw are something that has always caught his mind. He then looked back at me and then stroked his head.
"Such a cookie like you shouldn't be judge by the Fork of Judgement. I have heard about these things from Pastry Cookie. They say that the fallen creatures like...us cannot resist it. Such a consecrated weapon was forced by the praise of the Godly. But what they don't know is that it's not one's judgment to tell who to crumble or let live. It's such a laughable self-righteousness..."
He let him tot he Oven and then stared into it. "The same ingredients and the oven were used to bake the two kin, Cakes and Cookies! By a mere coincidence the former couldn't gain consciousness like they did! Well I say neither them, nor the Witches--NO ONE is in the right to take their lives, simply because they are different!"
He stared into the oven. He was right... Dove slowly rubbed Red Velvet's back and then hugged him. Red Velvet Cookie hugged Dove backed and then looked at him.
If you must know, he can change a persons POV by just giving them some love, like he did with Choco. He's the type of cookie like that lol.
They then noticed a cake hound barking at them happily while walking around them. He smiled and pet him. He jumped into his arms and giggled.
"Chiffon! There you are. I've been looking for since you've been known to run around." he smiled.
"Such a very loyal pet." he commented as he petted him. His thought about the cookies still stand but...he had had his doubts of what truly is the truth about how Cookies exist...of what the Cookies would have become instead of where we are now.
Pomegranate Cookie looked at us while holding his tea. "I began wondering what was taking you so long... My tea became as cold as ice." She said as she was warming her tea then when she noticed me, she slowly hide her smile, letting out an evil chuckle.
"Red Velvet Cookie... you were right. We are truly blessed with such a cookie. A translucent blessing I might say."
"I've told you my beasts saw her. As he even has the soul jam and eyes to prove it."
Dove looked at Pomegranate Cookie while holding the cake hound close to her. His eyelashes batted themselves as he stared into his eyes. "Pomegranate Cookie...was it?" he asked as he titled his head to the side. "Yes, that is correct. Welcome, dear cookie, to the Temple of Shadow, the Cake Tower!"
"The Temple...of Shadow?" His eyes slowly widened when he noticed the fine flour, the giant mold that looks like a cookie, and all of these ingredients to make the Cookies. This...was the Sacred Godly Pantry he heard about in the books, in the St. Pastry Order, they've all talked about this! But he just...didn't know...
"Of course...you have much to learn. The way of the Master. The true significance of this place is beyond all comprehension. For you see...this was the very place where our great Master, Dark Enchantress Cookie, was reborn... The first and the last place where a Cookie has surpassed her creators, the Witches!"
His eyes slowly widened then he slowly looked at her and then at him.
"Red Velvet Cookie, too, was created here..."
He become even more shocked as he slowly blushed a light red. So did Red Velvet Cookie. But we snapped out of it and blushed a very deep red. "What...has happened here?" I asked as I looked at Pomegranate Cookie.
"That...is what I am about to show you. The real truth of the Witches that the order follows..."
The visions slowly started to show. Showing the roaring fire! The crimson cackles! The cookies that were being...eaten...!
He gasped loudly that echoed the tower then he collapsed into Red Velvet's arms. "Let the cleansing...commence..."
That this part of the story, that I'm about to witness...is gonna get horrific!
He slowly opened my eyes and heard a voice. "The banquet is starting..."
He slowly noticed White Lily Cookie then his eyes widened when he remembered the dream he had.
"The Night of the Witches, held once in a thousand years... This is my only chance!"
He noticed that he was in the Banquet of the Gods.
"I shall meet the creators, the Witches! I must ask the question." she said to herself while coming towards the Oven. "I will ask them why... Why they created the Cookies... and myself. I must learn the truth!"
The determination in her eyes said everything. Dove quickly followed him as he wanted her to stop before the truth was truly revealed. As he did, he looked down at the purple water boiling in a hot cauldron. Then he looked above and heard voices from...the Witches.
"Well well well, it's been a thousand long years! Glad to see y'all!" The witch cackled. "And would you look at these! They look amazing! Y'all been working hard!"
The witch wiped her brow. "Phew! I baked a ton of cookies! Here, try one! You're gonna love it!"
Try one...? Love it...?!
He heard the crunching from the bare teeth of the Witches and his eyes widened when he looked at the sight of it. They...were...eating...cookies...
"Impossible...!" shouted out Lily
"The Witches... Our creators... Are... eating... Cookies!"
She looked at the other cookies and nudge one of them to wake up. "WAKE UP! PLEASE! WE HAVE TO RUN!"
They didn't say anything.
"YOU CAN'T STAY HERE...! LISTEN TO ME, WE MUST ESCAPE...!"
As they looked at the banquet of cookies, they were slowly dissolving from the chew bites.
"But why...why! Why are you smiling at me?! I must... I must tell someone about it! Oh... Oh! AAAAAAH!"
She fell into the ultimate dough for it was too late to catch him now. His eyes widened then he put his hands over his face as tears ran down his cheeks. All this time...they have...been eating us... The true reason that they live is because...they were destined...TO BE EATEN!
"No... Lily..." he said quietly then he hugged himself.
"Why... why did you do that...? Witches..."
White Lily Cookie was growling as she clenched her staff.
"The Witches deceived us... The Cookies... were created to... be eaten! But I was born... and lived... I have my will and consciousness... I can't accept this fate...!"
One of the Witches looked into the cauldron then rubbed her hands together in excitement. "Whose cookie is that? Look, it fell into the Ultimate Dough!"
"T'is alright! Let's just bake it and see what happens!" said the other Witch.
After she was baked, the Oven burst into red fire and out came the cake monsters and here was the birth of Dark Enchantress Cookie...
"Ha ha ha... MUA HA HA HA HA! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!" she cackled out, laughing evilly as she levitates above the Cookies.
"Who could have known it was so simple! NOW I understand! The Witches were wrong! I refuse this so-called 'destiny!'"
More tears streamed down his eyes as he looked as his friend. Of what she's become... Look what happened...
"I was reborn against anyone's will! A new body... How refreshing!"
All the witches screamed and ran away from her.
"Ha ha... But where are you going so soon? You left your cake in the oven! ARISE, FORSAKEN DESSERTS!"
A lone cake wolf roared. "RAH! RAH! HRAH! HRAH!"
"REJECT YOUR PITFUL FATES LIKE I HAVE REJECTED MINE!"
"Graaaaar! GRAA!" The Lone Cake Wolf roared in agreement.
"Oh great Witches... what have you done? What have you done as you tainted them by your truths? The truth of what you cannot take away..." he said quietly.
"THE WORLD DIVIDED INTO THOSE WHO EAT AND THOSE TO BE EATEN... WILL BURN! HEED ME, DESSERTS! IT IS TIME TO UNLEASH HELL ONTO THE WITCHES!"
The cake monsters howled to follow their leader. Dove Cookie sniffled and then hugged himself as he looked down. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he looked down as he sniffles softly. "I won't let this affect me... I know the truth now...but now...I don't know what I'm supposed to do.."
I slowly saw the little doughling coming out with a cake arm. It was...Red Velvet Cookie.
"Waaah... Dark Enchantress... Cookie...?"
"I hear you, child... Poor thing, have you lost your arm?" she asked as she looked at his arm. "There, there. I have a gift for you. I believe this will serve you well."
She gave him a cake arm striped in red and white. The doughling looked at it in amazement and slowly moved it.
"This arm will connect you with your brethren!"
"Hmm... I guess... yes..." He nodded in response.
She pointed her staff to the cupboard that showed a paper called the Ultimate Recipe. Dove slowly walked towards it and looked at it. This...was all the ingredients to make cake monsters and...COOKIES!
"That cupboard holds the Ultimate Recipe. And you are about to witness what it is capable of! Follow me, child. I will show you a better world."
Dove woke up in front of the Oven and looked around as he wiped the tears from his eyes, sniffling softly.
"Finally...cleansed from the lies! A sight truly to see!"
He winced softly as he looked down.
"Shush now. You are fortunate to witness our Master's magnificent past!"
Red Velvet Cookie and Pomegranate Cookie slowly helped him and then Pomegranate Cookie smiled at his face, full of tears but understanding
"You finally see the truth that is very different from the teachings of your guides that blind you."
"This...is not the sacred birthplace of Cookies... This...is a dungeon...of where the Cookies had their fate to behold from..." he said as he was shaking on his knees. The tears wouldn't stop as he trembles.
"Oh, my dear Prince, this is only the beginning. Tell me, my dear lovely Prince, do you believe in the 'Godly' now?"
He was silent and then just looked down. Pomegranate Cookie smiled and then rubbed his head.
"Join us..." Red Velvet Cookie asked.
"Join us into rebuilding the world. For the despaired and fallen... Those who they call "Monsters" also desire for a world to live in! And when the cookies meet their Godly creators, they will ask! Ask about their precious 'Order' that decrees pretty Cookies to live, and forsaken, burnt Cakes to be SLAIN!"
He gasped when Red Velvet Cookie took him to oven then a three headed, hound-like Cakeberus. With three thin, fiery tails. The first had has two strawberry ears and a small red horn with white stripes while also looking noticeably less aggressive then the other two heads, due to its wide eyes and hanging tongue. The second head has two straight red and white horns between two dollops of brown frosting in place of ears, its sharp teeth bared and eyes more narrowed than the first head. The third head has two curved horns in place of ears and wears a similar facial expression to the second, though looks slightly more amused and wears a bit of a grin.
"GLORIOUS CAKE LEGION! YOUR TIME HAS COME!"
The Frenzied Cake Wolf barked beside him. "Awooooo! Bark Bark!"
He looked around as he trembled as he looks at them.
"I...I must leave this place...!"
And so he did.
He would not stop for one second after that horrifying moment. All the time, he would have nightmares of such things and he doesn't let other people get worried but...that's the whole truth of how much he knows about this... He's been suffering ever since that time...

Chapter Text
She turned her head towards the Prince and smiled. She tilted her head in curiosity as it sparked a memory inside him. "Dear Prince, you remember our first meeting?" she asked kindly but those eyes showed anticipation. "You remember this question I asked you when we first met? Why we, Cookies, were created?... Hmm?"
She got closer but he turned his head away. She smirked.
"Look at yourself dear Princes, perfect fine pieces of dough instead of the other cookies..." She chuckled as she slowly raised her staff. "You have been tainted by such insolence." She gripped his hand and smiled devilishly at him, "I shall finally cleanse those who filled you with lies! Their crumbs will litter this table!"
Choco raised his blade then strike Dark Enchantress Cookie before yelling, "ENOUGH!! Don't you dare lay a hand on my FATHER!"
Dark Enchantress Cookie winced but then she scoffed while looking at the two Princes, who got out of their seats quickly and backed away slowly to the door. Dove was behind Choco as he stood protectively, holding his blade, pointing to the Cookies.
"Why MUST YOU BE SO...so...insolent?! What is it that keeps you going into the light?! Don't you understand my VISION?!"
Choco growled as Dove looked at her.
"I have been tainted by your lies but NO LONGER! There is always ways to find the light and nevermore shall I be consumed to the darkness. I will sacrifice everything to end this EVIL PATH I TAKE!"
She glared at Dove then growled, "YOU...!"
"Prince Dove Cookie! Where are you?!"
Dove's eyes widened when he heard Gingerbrave and his friends.
Dark Enchantress Cookie calmed down and then she smiled her usual smile, "Ah... It seems that we have some uninvited guests among us... But mark my words, Princes, you will understand my vision one way or another. Then I can finally claim the Soul Jams and bring the world into a new era!"
"And we will be here to end your vision, SORCERESS!"
She chuckled, "And that courage still runs through your veins, Dark Choco Cookie. Such a worthy cookie for my vision."
Pomegranate Cookie pointed at the two of them.
"You will join my Master's plan! For Fate will not be on your side tonight!"
They vanished without a trace and that's when Dove collapsed as he panted heavily. Choco quickly caught him and then hugged him, "Father? Father...?" He noticed that he rubbed his head.
He looked at Choco then quickly takes his hand before running out of the room with him. He was running towards the Solarium of Unity then he slowly looked around. Choco's eyes widened and looked at the people.
"This...is so beautiful...!" He said excitedly. "Five Ancient heroes, depicted on the glass itself!" He noticed Dove at the center then he looked at him, "Father...it's you..."
Dove nodded yes. He looked down as tears ran down his eyes as he walked to the center of the room and looked around with a question that bothered him.
If you had to choose between friends and your own...
What would you decide?
A memory showed him:
During of when the Vanilla Kingdom was established, all of the Ancients walked to the Solarium of Unity. Hollyberry was by his side. White Lily was walking behind Dove as Cacao walked by his side as well. Vanilla walked with White Lily as Golden Cheese Cookie was flying over head. He smiled as he looked on either side of him and walked towards the Solarium of Unity. They all gathered around and then placed their hands at the center. Their smiles made him smile. And that memory...brought him into tears...
The statues that showed the images of the Ancients and then he slowly put his hands to his chest and then looked down.
"So many years...have passed... Maybe if..."
He slowly touched his soul jam then a soft petal appeared on his hand. He hugged the petal and then a flurry of petals flew towards the statues of the heroes and then he slowly opened his wings as a magic seal appeared on the ground. "F-Father...?"
He panted softly as he spread his wings more as he looked up to the ceiling. Everything turned white as the glass shined like the soul jam.
"I know...how to find them... Pure Vanilla Cookie is here..."
Back to where Gingerbrave and his friends were, Healer Cookie started feeling something on his chest that glowed. From the ground he walked upon, it was all but grace and unity. "Dove... DOVE!"
He knows that voice that whispered from the horizon. He ran down the corridor in fast pace, trembling then when he saw Dove, his eyes widened and he jumped into Dove's arms. "Dove! DOVEY!"
Dove yelped and then giggled quietly as he cried happy tears.
"V-Vanilla...is that r-really you?"
"Yes, it's me... It's always been me..."
He put his hands on my cheeks as his disguise was no longer. He was like his regular self from when he was the Former King of the Vanilla Kingdom.
"I'm right here, dear... I'm right here..."
Dove Cookie smiled and Vanilla offered his hand to Dark Choco, who was cautious but he slowly joined the hug.
"Ever since we kept you in the crystal, I've been thinking of you ever since..."
Dove sniffled quietly and rubbed his eyes while looking at him. "You knew it was dangerous when you did the moon spell--Why did you do it?"
Vanilla looked down, "It was to protect you... But why did you dashed at Dark Enchantress Cookie?"
"Because I wanted no more for my friends to get hurt...for Pete sake--You all had lives to live. You wouldn't have met your descendent, Hollyberry would have never seen her grandchildren, Cacao would have never seen his son, Goldie would have not have protected her kingdom and kept us laughing with her parties, and White Lily Cookie would have carried the guilt in her heart. I have always forgiven you for when you put in the Crystal. It was for my own safety. But...please...don't ever do that again..."
Vanilla chuckled and then kissed his cheek before nuzzling his cheek against his. "I won't, dear. I promise."
And since their love grew, it helped defeat Dark Enchantress Cookie but he would have admit, it wouldn't be the last of her that they will see. And from so on, so forth, Dove and Dark Choco went to the Hollyberry Kingdom to find Hollyberry, of course, with the unexpected contest to become Princess or in this case, a Prince.
Chapter 6: The Hollyberry Palace
Summary:
Restoring the Kingdom to its glory gave the Prince a smile. It was wonderful to see all the cookies in peace again. The next destination was the Hollyberry Kingdom and boy, aren’t we in for quite a treat!
Plus I’m allowing the Prince to tell this part of the story because he always wanted to narrate!
Chapter Text
Since the Vanilla Kingdom was restored, I’ve decided to try and find Hollyberry since I know that Hollyberry is somewhere around the Hollyberry Kingdom and like I remembered…even the Pitaya Dragon has grown into a type of tantrum that is getting on my nerves greatly and how, I must say, does he seem to like me so much? The fighting was his glory, his passion, but now, I’m stuck in the Hollyberry Kingdom, having a no good timing time and I swear to you, if I haven’t had peace and didn’t strike, SO HELP ME, PITAYA WOULD HAVE A KNOCK DOWN OR TWO!
But… *ahem* Let's not get ahead. For I shall tell you the story of the Light of Passion and how Hollyberry Cookie reigns forever in our hearts and finally found her courage to fight again.
If I remember correctly, me and my Son came into the Hollyberry Palace with GingerBrave and his friends. And I must say, it was quite the extravagant experience to be back in the Hollyberry Kingdom.
“Phew! We’re inside. So, this is what the Hollyberry Palace is like, huh…!”
I jumped when Host Cookie popped up and it was into Choco’s arms as well. “Welcome to the grand Princess Contest! Take these number cards, please. Your numbers are 504 to…” He stopped when he looked at me then his eyes widened. “Could it be? The Prince of Peace has come to the Princess Contest to compete?!”
I blinked in confusion. “Princess Contest?” I asked in confusion.
“Compete?” Choco asked in confusion. We looked at each other as we blinked in confusion. Now, that’s new. I have never thought that they would hold a Princess Contest though I might say that Princess Cookie has returned so they couldn’t be a Princess Contest holding…right?
“Wow, so many Cookies passed the preliminaries…!” Strawberry exclaimed in surprisement as she looked around.
If you don’t know what the preliminarily is, it is something that precedes or is introductory or preparatory. Which I have questions about.
We looked around the Hollyberry Palace but I yelped when two guards raised me up and took me further into the Hollyberry Palace. “Now wait just a minute! If I could ask what is the meaning of this!” I shouted out then I was placed at the center of the room.
I blinked as I looked around and every Cookie was looking. Choco came after me and then kept me close as the crowd surrounded us.
“It can’t be…!” “It’s the Prince!” “He’s here!”
The crowd made way for Jungleberry Cookie and Royal Berry Cookie. They looked at me then their eyes widened. “It couldn’t be…”
Jungleberry walked towards me then looked into my eyes. “Hollyberry has been looking for you for so many years. And now you’re here…” She said as she slowly held my hands and looked at me with a smile. Choco slowly glared at the Shady Noble that was hiding from the crowd and in the darkness.
“So the rumors were true. If the Prince of Peace competes in a Princess Contest, then we might have the world in our favor. I must tell Cranberry Cookie at once. This WILL be our opportunity for the throne…” he whispered then he disappeared.
Host Cookie came in and smiled while the camera was on him. “Terrific news, great Cookies, the Prince of Peace, Prince Dove Cookie has decided to compete in the Princess Contest. Instead of a Princess , we could have a Prince!”
I stared at Host Cookie. “Now WAIT just a minute!”
As I was trying to get to Host Cookie, he disappeared. Jungleberry followed along and smiled. “You must compete in the Princess Contest since you were the lover of Hollyberry Cookie. Come now, let me introduce you to…a guest of ours.”
I blinked then shared a look with Choco Cookie. “I swear, if it’s someone I think of who it is, stay beside me, son.” He nodded as he followed.
First they had to dress me up and I feel…absolutely…humiliated. It was completely similar to Royal Berry Cookie’s clothing and I have a few complaints about this but mostly what I don’t like…is the bow. I HAVE TO WEAR THE STINKIN’ BOW!
I stared at the mirror as I had a straight face on and I felt so humiliated. I looked beside me and I saw Dark Choco Cookie, dressed like Bumbleberry Cookie.
“Do not…say…a…word.” he muttered in embarrassment.
I only giggled. “Darling, it will be only for today. Besides, we do have to look presentable for our guests.”
“But Father, do I have to wear this? It is similarly unfit for me and it feels tight in this outfit. Too much layer of…frosting.” he complained as he tried to straighten the collar on his shirt and the sleeves.
“Well look at me. I have to wear a doggone bow and a fluffy cape with the symbol of the Hollyberry Kingdom and I feel humiliated!” I said with a pout as I crossed my arms. Choco kissed my cheek and nuzzled his cheek against mine.
“But we do need to find Hollyberry Cookie and stop this Princess Contest. The Cookie I know is filled with strength and wisdom–filled with a fierce passion that can be recognized by the shield… I know she can do it since I felt the Soul Jam grow dimmer and dimmer by the day. I will not have any Cookie worthy of the shield, whether it’s Princess Cookie or any other Cookie, I will not have it!”
I said as I sniffled softly. Choco hugged me then kissed my cheek. “We’ll find Auntie Hollyberry Cookie… Whether she’s here or somewhere, waiting, we’ll find her.” he said, reassuringly. I smiled at him and giggled. “That’s why I have the best son in the entire world.”
He giggled and nuzzled against me and I laughed as he picked me up and swung me around. “Now come, Jungleberry Cookie has promised me to introduce us to a guest. And also, if you see any visitors wandering around the palace grounds…” I whispered in his ear to keep it secret.”...You know exactly where the ‘treasure’ is secured.”
He nodded then held my hand as we walked out of the room back to the ballroom. As soon as I entered the room, I was already surrounded by Cookies, asking me questions of where I was and how some Cookies were wooing over Dark Choco Cookie because of his muscular stature.
We got through the ground and then we looked Jungleberry who led us to a certain dragon named Pitaya Dragon Cookie.
“Oh. It’sss you again. And here I thought one worthy of a fight would visit… You sssee, you have this… wild, primal energy within you that reminds of that spirit of… HERSSS!”
“Please, have some patience. Someone with the passion as bright as hers shall appear to face you. But anyway, I have brought Prince Dove Cookie to you…as you wished.”
AS YOU WISHED?! I beg your pardon but did she just lure me in here for this DRAGON?! Ooooooooooo, if I haven’t the peace in my soul, so HELP ME…!
“Asss I expected…the Prince of Peace. So…tell me…what type of sssoul do you have? Isss it as bright as hersss?” he asked with a smirk, circling me.
“Now see here, I am not what you think I am. Hollyberry Cookie would fight you another time for pete sake, but a cookie could be–”
He laughed. “You think you can find a cookie as bright as HERSSS?! I would not get my hopesss up if I were you! Need I remind you what I will do if I am disappointed…?” he whispered in my ear as his hot breath was against my neck, letting him wrap his talons around me and lick my neck out of lust.
“Now don’t you dare! I will not allow you to burn this kingdom down with its Cookies.” I said as I looked at him. I pushed him away from me as I glared into his eyes. “And keep your talons to yourself.” I turned my head away with a hmph.
“Besides, it will only take a day, no, perhaps even less to bring you a Cookie that can hold their own against you.” I reassured him as I turned my body away from him. He smirked and then hissed in my ear, giving me shivers down my spine.
“Oh I know, dear Princes. I shall look forward to it. I just want sssome fun, that’s all.”
He bit my earlobe and growled quietly while purring. I yelped and tried to push him away. He kept his arms wrapped around me and Jungleberry Cookie was doing her very best to keep Choco Cookie from attacking Pitaya.
Pitaya laughed as he saw me squirm in his arms, making such a smile that made his eyes glow. “Ha ha ha! I can’t stop imagining you in my arms while I take your virginity away from you! Just the thought of it is making my ssscales tingle! Come, join me for a lovely drink!”
He demanded while biting my neck. I yelped every time. “Now I shall join for a drink but keep your HANDS off of me! SOMEBODY GIVE HIM SOME JUICE BEFORE HE DEVOURS ME!”
Pitaya giggled and then smothered me in bites and hickeys. “I BEG YOUR PARDON, WILL YOU–!” He giggled even more and kept on biting all over my neck in such excitement. He then finished then licked his lips. “So delicious~”
Dove trembled while trying to get up. Choco and Jungleberry helped him as he was completely spinning so much. “I…I think I…”
“It’s alright, Father, I’ve got you…”
After he finally relaxed, letting himself cool down and settled in. “Dear Prince, we are so glad to have you for the Princess Contest. We have more fun prepared for the day just for you. Come, please, to the Princess’s Corner!”
Dove was sent to the Princess Corner and he relaxed lightly as he looked away. Choco was rubbing his back as he let him do so. There was the Shady Noble again.
“Wonderful. This is our chance. Everybody move out! Blend in and take the Prince, make sure no Cookie stands in your way!”
Dove relaxed in Choco’s arms as he was relaxing herself. This was the first time Dove Cookie was shaken by a dragon. The way he attacked, the way he touched, Dove remembers the day…he was assaulted by Dark Enchantress Cookie. It was such a terrible time…and it brought him so much discouragement that he grew stronger and stronger from that day.
“Contestants, the clock is ticking! Please standby! I’ll be explaining the next event now!”
He noticed other cookies coming in then he groaned. “Oi! You lot over there! Hurry up! Time’s almost over!”
Dove stood up and walked with the crowd as he smiled softly.
“As you are all aware, the Hollyberry Kingdom consists of many noble houses! Each house is famous for its berries, and oh-so-brightful so! Our berries are fresh, plump, and juicy! Now it’s only natural that our berry juices made from these rich berries are the finest in all of Earthbread! Which is why the next event is related to our famed berry juice! Drumroll, please!”
The drumroll started playing and Dove couldn’t help but feel excited.
“Maybe it’s a blind taste test. I was number one in the Hollyberry Kingdom during the Festival. I always loved berry juice!”
Choco was shaking while I was shaking him as well, giggling in excitement.
“The grrraceful, Barrel Run!”
Choco and Dove’s eyes widened then they started squealing in excitement.
“I love barrel running!”
“It was so fun when I was little!”
“There’s nothing sadder than throwing away your hard-worked berry juice because it went bad! That’s why you gotta roll the barrel regularly to mix up the juice from time to time! Which is why… every Hollyberry Princess and Prince is required to run atop the rolling barrels with royal race and noble prowess! Now, contestants! Please get up on the berry barrels! If you fall, you’ll be disqualified!”
I giggled then grabbed Choco’s hand and ran over to our barrels. I got on the barrels as Choco did and with a little bit of practice, we were masters!
“Cookies on barrels, 2 o’clock. Go get ‘em!”
“Hyahhh!”
“Eyahhh!”
Meddlers started attacking us but me and my son smirked, giving each other a look before grabbing each other’s hands and then starting to dance.
“Want a dance practice, son?”
“Sure, father.”
He took out his sword and then slashed the meddlers and I was so happy when he did it gracefully. When a meddler tried to grab me, I did a split on the barrel and then dodged them while smiling. “Oh what a lovely day for a contestant!”
Choco chuckled before swirling his sword into the air. He did a handstand on the barrel and swirled, making a tornado of fights then landed on the barrel gracefully.
“That’s my son!” I said as I sipped on some Peach Tea, very delicious. Which is why they always love my peachy breath.
“Father! Look! A bunch of them are coming this way! And it’s not just the meddlers, but other contestants are coming at us too!”
I raised an eyebrow then put my tea down while keeping my balance then stretched a little bit. “Alright son, remember the strategy. Ziggy zag. Ziggy Zag.”
And that’s what we did, the Zig-Zag and avoided all the contestants and smiled at each other. “I remember doing this with Holly and she wouldn’t stop!”
We continued on rolling then made it to the finishing line with a smile.
“And that’s it, folks! How many standing contestants do we have?”
I landed gracefully to the ground and smiled as I helped Dark Choco down.
“Even though this suit is tight, it is nice to have some fun.”
I giggled softly then Choco kissed my cheek. My face brightened up in delight as I smiled and rubbed my forehead against his.
“Awwwww, they are so adorable!” Princess Cookie looked in delight as we ere huddled together.
“Phew, I’ve worked up a sweat just by looking at you all work! Just who is going to be the winner of this contest? Let’s move on to the next trial, shall we? Which is… a dance party!”
My eyes turned to stars as I giggled in delight. “A wonderful dance party!”
“Ho ho! Finally! My type of trial!” Cranberry Cookie confidently said.
“But wait, there’s more! Don’t tell me… None of you actually thought this world would be a breeze because it’s a dance party, right? Yes, the dance parties in the Hollyberry Kingdom are indeed full of laughter and fun! But unfortunately… not all participants come to boogie! To some, it is the window of opportunity to sneak in and hurt our dear princess or prince!”
The Shadow Assassin gasped when Host Cookie said their plan. And it looked a little bit from the House of Cranberry.
“But as the princess of Hollyberry Kingdom, they must always be jolly, even in the face of danger. Ha ha! Sounds pretty simple, yes? But let’s see about that! Queue music, please!”
As the music started playing, I led Dark Choco to the dance floor and smiled. We were about to intertwine our hands but we’ve decided on something a bit more romantic. He wrapped his arm around me while holding my hand. It reminded me so much of the wedding that me and Holly had.
The royal chef brought me to the kitchen to try his Berry Tarts. I tasted it and I smiled as it was delicious. The next hour, I was in the dressing room, wearing a beautiful wedding dress in Hollyberrian colors. I gasped and then smiled softly as I looked at the dress from the mirror. I’ve met the singing choir and birds who were on me while singing the sweetest melody. In the Ballroom, I giggled as I was dancing with Jungleberry Cookie gracefully, the music was extraordinary and wonderful! And then it was time for the wedding.
My bridesmaids and my maid of honor: Jungleberry Cookie, were standing on either side of the Altar. Holly was standing while nervously breathing. Vanilla fixed her dress that was a bit wrinkled and smiled at Holly. White Lily then instructed the choir and birds to sing the Wedding March. The guards opened the door as the flower girls scattered flowers onto the floor. I then started walking as the birds lifted my veil from behind so it didn’t drag. Hollyberry looked at me in happiness as tears was running down her eyes. I smiled and looked at the other Ancients as I was coming up on the stairs then Hollyberry took my hand. We made contact with each other and then looked at the Priest.
“Ladies and Gentlecookies, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Prince Dove Cookie and Queen Hollyberry Cookie. The strength of their commitment is clear. The power of their love is undeniable. May we have the rings please?”
The ring bearer showed the rings on the pillow then Hollyberry picked one up and held my hand. “With this ring, I bring you happiness. For you will never be filled with sorrows, no rainy days will make you soggy. And so I ask you to be mine.”
She put the ring on my finger and I smiled. I took the ring and said the same vows as he did and then put the ring on her middle finger.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Hollyberry dipped me and I giggled as everyone applauded. She kissed me lovingly and looked at the ground with one eye open after the kiss. We walked to the balcony and waved at the Denizens of the Hollyberry Kingdom, giggling softly.
After the party, it was night and we were on the dance floor. Hollyberry gave me a twirl then put her head on my shoulder. I slowly giggled quietly as she danced lovingly then the music changed into a song:
Love is in Bloom
A beautiful bride
A handsome groom
Two hearts becoming one
A bond that can not be undone
Love is in Bloom
A beautiful Bride
A handsome groom
Love is in Bloom
You’re starting a life while making room for us
I smiled and then hugged my friends. “None of this would have been possible without you guys. Ooooooh, I love you all…”
“We love you too, Dovey!”
I smiled as that memory lingered. I then looked at Choco and saw him enjoying himself while having his sword behind him but this time, this wasn’t the Strawberry Jam Sword, this was a sword that I handcrafted myself. The Dark Embrace. Suited for his stature and gloominess which is adorable.
“I have never danced in so long that I never thought that I would feel like this…”
I giggled as he dipped me. “Oh dear, you’re just like your Father. Even if you look like your Father. But even though it is a dance party, meddlers will be around from the shadows so keep your guard up.”
Choco chuckled before twirling me around and then whispered in my ear.
“I have been guarding you this whole time, what do you mean, Father?”
I yelped softly when he spun me around and around while slashing the arrows of the meddler Archer. I laughed softly and then looked up at him as he grabbed my waist and kissed my forehead.
“Um, dear, there might be some–”
“I’ve got it!”
He threw me into the air and I made a double flip, dodging the meddlers and laughed softly when he caught me, I wrapped my legs around him and then smiled while looking at him. “I never thought you were such a good dancer.”
“Same to you, Father!”
Every cookie was just surprised by our dance moves, with such graceful posture.
“I must capture the Prince!”
The Shadow Assassin dashed right towards us but then I grabbed a fencing sword and then pointed it to him. Choco’s sword was pointing towards him as well, glaring at the Assassin. We then kicked him away from the dance floor and then went back to dancing. “Now excuse me darlings, stabbing me behind the back will be dishonorable!”
“Indeed!” My son agreed before swinging the sword and attacking the meddlers while dancing gracefully.
“Here’s the thing–I’ve noticed that it isn’t just a contest, it’s like an arena but with dancing!”
Choco chuckled as we were back to back then we smirked at each other. We grabbed each other’s hands and then he swirled me around and my legs kicked all the meddlers away before throwing me into the air. Then as the final move, Choco catched me and then dipped me again as the music ended. We panted heavily and looked at each other.
“That will be all!”
We touched foreheads and then bowed down at everyone who applauded.
“Now… it’s been a while since y’all hit the dance floor! I see some are exhausted from all that dancing!”
“Huff… Huff… Huff… Huff…” Choco Werehound Princess panted heavily. I giggled and looked at Chooc Werehound Princess. “Such a wonderful Princess.”
I pecked Choco Werehound’s cheek and then smiled. He blushed very deeply and looked at the Prince. If you can tell, he can have a bit of second thoughts of being an underling to Licorice Cookie.
“Oh Licorice Cookie, you are doing so well with protecting the Princess. Besides, your magic is for good use. Dark Enchantress Cookie doesn’t see the potential that you have.”
A little bit of honesty is the best policy.
“Hmm, that’s quite a lot of disqualified contestants! Righty-O, everyone still dancing has passed this round!”
“I did it! Oh dear, I can’t believe I did it!”
“Those crude, unrefined batches of dough… have passed!?”
I glared at Cranberry Cookie who trembled and cleared her throat. “A-Apologies.”
“Everyone has done their best. It means that everyone is a winner. Including you Licorice Cookie. You too, Blueberry Cookie, you are so adorable and cute!”
Blueberry Cookie giggled while smiling.
“I can’t believe I’m being treated the same as some barbarians! House Cranberry will not stand this nonsense!”
“How… How could anyone say something so harsh?!”
I giggled before looking at Cranberry Cookie.
“Now Cranberry Cookie…do we have to discuss some terms about our allies with House Cranberry or are you going to stick it up and be a good Princess?”
Cranberry Cookie gulped then smiled nervously, “Y-Yes, your Majesty.”
“Oh dear, Cookies, please refrain from mentioning your families in this fair contest.” Host Cookie said worryingly.
“Come on, everyone! It doesn’t matter what kind of moves someone had as long as they had fun!” Princess Cookie commented. I patted Princess Cookie’s back and smiled. Licorice Cookie thought for a moment before twirling his fingers.
“Princess Cookie is right! I got so far fair and square! Know that your insults will not make me turn back now…!”
I giggled while clapping my hands in excitement.
“And you won’t be able to ridicule me once you get a taste of my HAMMER! BRING IT!” I patted Choco Werehound’s hand while smiling.
“Calm down, dear. Now let us calm down! No need to turn to violence but let me just say, you are perfect just the way you are. Don’t let yourself be caught into their lies. You’ve got to think of such wonderful things, like how you were able to wear the dress, how you were able to dance with such poise.”
Choco Werehound felt flustered. “I…I truly believed that cookies wouldn’t like me for who I am…”
I shushed him and then brought Bat-Rat over and Licorice Cookie into the hug.
“Licorice Cookie, you were competent enough and that’s what it means to encourage your fellow underlings! And Bat-Rat, you were as fast as lightning! And you are wonderful!”
Choco Werehound was almost in tears. “Oh! Prince Dove Cookie! Can we…stay with you? Back in the place, it’s not as good as I thought it would be. And Dark Enchantress Cookie is always…mean…”
“Yeah… I always thought that she saw potential in me but…she couldn’t because of how I act… So…”
I nodded yes and Dark Choco Cookie smiled then they pounced on me and hugged me while crying happy tears. “Oh darlings!”
We all laughed and everyone felt heartfelt. Only Wizard Cookie was confused.
“...If you ask me, I don’t know what to think anymore.”
“Now, dear Host Cookie, will you kindly please tell us about the next contest.”
(Yep, like I said, he can change people’s minds. And I mean the mind of cookies for pete sake–Changing the paths of others—whatcha gonna do player!)
“Let’s see… Oh! No more than 10 contestants left! Looks like this’ll be the final round! And the final trail is nothing else but… HUH?”
“L-look!” Gingerbrave pointed up to the Dragon.
A crash was heard from the ballroom and there was the dragon, Pitaya COOKIE!
Wizard Cookie shouted, “DRAGON!!!”
“I see. The judge will personally oversee this trial! So be it, I shall show everyone what House Raspberry is capable of!”
“What?! Wait a minute! The dragon’s gonna attack! Everyone, TAKE COVER!”
He roared and shot a fireball at the contestants. I gasped and then pushed the people out of the way and summoned my protective shield.
“Wahhh!”
“Watch out! That building is… Gone.”
I shushed Strawberry Cookie and then I glanced at Pitaya Cookie.
“PITAYA DRAGON!!!”
I looked at him and then put my shield down.
“E-everyone! Evacuate! Go! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! S-s-s-tay c-c-c-c-alm!”
“Evacuate? What do you mean “EVACUTE”? What about my contest?!”
“How about this Princess Cookie? If we want to show our worth, we’ve got to defeat this dragon from terrorizing all over the Kingdom.”
She jumped as she saw me being serious then she squealed in excitement and then panted softly.
“The audacity… to attack the heart of our kingdom… Absolutely unacceptable! That BEAST will get a taste of my blade!”
“Run you fools! That pillar is gonna fall!”
I whistled for Choco Werehound Brute to keep the pillar stable.
“EVERYONE GET BACK! This building will collapse any minute!”
“It looks like I have my work cut out for me. Princess Cookie! Your Highness! I will evacuate the other Cookies! In the meantime, you’d better show that lizard the spirit of the Hollyberry Kingdom!”
“Licorice Cookie! Bat-Cat! Join Raspberry Cookie!” They nodded then started transporting everyone out of the ballroom. Then it was time to fight!
I panted heavily as I looked at the dragon and then looked at him.
“Now excuse me, will you be so kind as to not destroy the Hollyberry Palace?”
I yelped and dodged the tail. Dark Choco Cookie was holding me while avoiding the tail. “Father, forgive me for intruding but–” He gasped. “WATCH OUT!”
Choco Werehound Brute grabbed both of them and pounced up to avoid the tail and landed back gracefully to the ground.
“Ha ha! Funny bissscuitsss, aren’t you?! You’ve got the NERVE to talk to each other while facing ME!? Let’s sssee if you can laugh THIS off…!”
I used a protective shield around us and blocked his fire power.
“Oh lord, PRINCESS COOKIE! KNIGHT COOKIE!”
Bat-Rat grabbed Princess Cookie, away from the fire power and Licorice used a force field to protect Knight Cookie. He was struggling as he used this type of magic: Light Magic to be precise. We panted heavily as the fight was getting nowhere.
“Wow, that cake monster saved my life!”
“Ahem, your Highnesses, it looks like all the other Cookies have successfully evacuated.”
“Now what? It doesn’t seem like us Cookies can defeat the dragon alone!”
I slowly smiled when I heard footsteps coming.
“It pains me to say so, but our strength is just not enough… It may be better to go and stay clear of their way!”
“But..” Princess Cookie looked down. “If the Princess runs away, then who’s gonna protect this kingdom? Running away is not an option. I can’t… I won’t!”
We heard a thump then looked behind to see the unnamed Huntress. “Woah! Are you okay?!”
“Princess Cookie? Why are you still here? You should’ve joined the others…”
“Ha ha! Assure, I alssso enjoy a good chase. But is it just me… or have you grown… WEAK? What happened to you?”
“Seriously, when did you become such a chatterbox?! You must be getting old, lizard! Fight now, talk later! Get back, you two!”
I looked at Pitaya Dragon and glared at him.
“Oh, I ssseee! You’re trying to protect those Cookies! I can take care of that. Let us fight without any hindrance!”
The dragon was coming over here and I hissed softly.
“The dragon is coming this way! Take cover, your Highness! I will fend off the beast!”
“Oof! That slimy lizard… You’ve grown old AND cranky!”
Jungleberry Cookie gave me the shield and then I threw it towards Hollyberry.
“HOLLY!”
She grabbed it and blocked Ptiaya’s attack. She changed from her disguise to her regular outfit.
“Whaaat?! Hollyberry Cookie?!”
I smiled softly and giggled while looking at Hollyberry Cookie.
“HOLLYBERRY COOKIE!”
“Hello, my darling dove! Let us save the pleasantries for later! Now, when I give you guys the signal, give that lizard all you got! Understood?!”
I giggled and looked at my friends and Princess Cookie and Knight Cookie then let out a soft smug.
“Don’t worry: her shield will protect us from any attack!”
The Pitaya Dragon roared loudly and then I smiled softly.
“NOW! The dragon’s out of breath! Go straight for the head!”
We dashed towards the head and gave him the head bonk he deserved. He transformed back to his Cookie form while growling.
“Krgh… No, that doesss not count! Come one by one!”
“Hah! Now that felt just like the good old days! But you went too far this time! If you wanted to spar, you should’ve left my kingdom be! Silly old lizard.”
I walked towards the dragon then booped his nose.
“Hmph, you’re alwaysss like that! We exchange a few hitsss, and then you disappear!”
“That’s because she had a Kingdom to run. It is hard to be Queen of the Kingdom! Now, Mr. Dragon, yes I know your name is Pitaya. We can let bygones be bygones if you don’t come back to the Kingdom anymore and try to destroy it.”
“Cute… Fine. I don’t feel like fighting anyway. I ssshall come back later! But next time, I WILL burn the whole palace down! HA HA HA!”
He opened his wings and left the palace through the hole he made.
“Why I oughta…!”
I smiled and hugged Hollyberry from behind.
“HOLLY!”
She giggled softly and hugged me back, squeezing me. She then blinked and looked at me, looking at my body.
“Are you alright?! No crumbs? Cracks?!”
“Holly, dear, I’m fine!”
Jungleberry Cookie and Royal Berry Cookie looked at me and Holly then their eyes widened. Holly noticed and laughed.
“You’re lookin’ the same as ever!”
“M-mother?! Is that really you?! I-I’m not imagining things, am I?!”
Royal Berry Cookie was in shock.
“Darling, this really is Hollyberry Cookie, in the dough. She helped Princess Cookie and Prince Dove Cookie and drove out the dragon.”
Hollyberry Cookie looked at Jungleberry with a smile.
“Jungleberry Cookie! Perfect timing you had there! If you didn’t give Dove the shield, it would’ve been a pickle! I see that you two held up the fort pre-tty well!”
Jungleberry Cookie giggled. “You’re too kind. I have so much to learn.”
“Ha ha! Look at you, talking all proper! Let’s see if you have honed your hunting skills as well!”
I tapped Holly’s shoulder and smiled, “I would hope that you’d like to meet my son.”
Holly’s eyes widened when he looked at Choco, who shyly looked at her, rubbing the side of his arm. She hugged him tightly and laughed.
“My nephew! Oh, look at you! Just like your father but exceptionally brighter!”
Choco blushesd and smiled while hugging his Auntie. I couldn’t help but cry a little bit. A small tear running down my eye when it fell to the ground, the Hollyberry Palace was back to its former glory.
“Mama! A-and… Grandmama?”
“Aw kid, I didn’t do enough to be called that! Just call me Hollyberry Cookie!”
Dove giggles then Princess Cookie jumped on.
“Which means you must be my Grandpapa!”
I chuckled out a laugh and hugged Princess Cookie. “Indeed I am, my beautiful Granddaughter!”
“…Princess Cookie, I see that you’ve made good friends, other than Knight Cookie.”
“Oh, you saw everything? I… I thought you were inside the palace the whole time…”
“You’re my daughter. Of course I saw everything. I knew the minute you set foot on these lands. I needed to know if you were willing to walk this path. Whether you had the strength to endure everything and if you had reliable friends to help you on your journey.”
Princess Cookie looked down. “How am I supposed to know that?! I thought you didn’t care about me at all!”
“I’m sorry, dear child… But please know that I stood back because I had faith in you. Look at you now. You’ve grown so much.”
“Ooh does that mean I can go on adventures again?!”
“As long as you don’t disappear without a single word, I don’t see why not. Wouldn’t you agree, Hollyberry Cookie?”
Hollyberry Cookie laughed sheepishly.
“Hey, easy there! I get it, I get it!”
Princess Cookie giggles while hugging the both of us. “You too, Hollyberry Cookie? Looks like we have something in common!”
Jungleberry Cookie sighed while shaking her head.
“Did you have to take after that one particular quality? Hold on, now. Before you two leave again, let me get you something for the road.”
And so, we went on our adventures. I had to leave Hollyberry Cookie and Princess Cookie to settle some matters in the Dark Cacao Kingdom, and thank goodness we’ve got here in time. Let me say this… NO ONE MESSES WITH MY KING!!

“Oh, wow, what’s this? There are Jack-o-lanterns everywhere!” Custard Cookie the Third said excitedly. “And everyone is dressed up! …Oh, I know! They’re all dressed up because they’re throwing me a part for being an awesome, great, and generous king! Yay!”
Dove rubbed Custard’s cheek and rubbed his cheek. “No no no, dear Custard, they are celebrating Hallow’s Eve which for short, it’s called Halloween!”
“Everyone’s wearing scary costumes! And there’s someone in a Bear Jelly mask! Look!” Pancake Cookie flew in place as he looked at the Cookies in scary costumes.
“Yeah, this time of year… Cookies dress up as ghosts and wander the streets of the Kingdom…”
“Ah, Strawberry Cookie, I’m surprised that you are here. Usually, I thought you wouldn’t be into this type of excitement.”
“Uncle Dovey, why are they all dressed up like this?” Dove chuckled and smiled as Dark Choco held his hand and looked at the others who were dressed up in Halloween costumes.
“They say that ghosts like to play tricks on Cookies so if you dress up as one, the ghosts won’t know and just pass you by.”
“Awesome! That sounds so cool! I wanna dress up too!” Pancake Cookie eagerly said.
“How about we head over to the Mont Blanc Boutique? I heard everyone got their costumes done there and I believe that my costume should be ready.” He gave a wink to Choco who blushed.
“SAY NO MORE! I MUST make a royal appearance as well! Since I’m a king, I’m gonna request a truly kingly outfit: the finest and grandest of them all!”
“Er, sure, I can join you guys if you want.”
“Of course, dear Strawberry Cookie!” He pecked Strawberry’s forehead and then walked towards the Mont Blanc Boutique. Pancake Cookie was flying as Custard Cookie was humming then he giggled as he knocked on the door. “Hee hee! Trick or treat! Or should I say… TRICK OR COSTUME? Ha ha!”
Mont Blanc Cookie opened the door and smiled at the cookies. “Welcome, welcome! You’re in the right place if you’ve come for clothes!”
Pancake Cookie squealed as he looked at all the costumes. “Yay! I want the cutest and scariest costume!”
“And I, I want the grandest and most glorious outfit! Something a scary king would wear, yes!”
Mont Blanc Cookie and Dove Cookie did air kisses on each of their cheeks as a meet-and-greet. “Oh, darling! It’s been so long since I’ve seen you. You are making the finest costumes and clothing in all of Earthbread.”
“Oh, you are too kind, your highness! And dear gentle-Cookies, I shall make you the costumes that you desire! And what can I get the lady in strawberry goodness and the Prince of Dark Chocolate?”
“Um, I’m fine, thanks. I don’t need one…” Strawberry Cookie said shyly.
“I think…maybe a costume that suits my son’s stature will be fine. Like the Prince of Chocolate Goodness! Like delicious chocolate lattes!” Dove said while giving a kiss on Choco’s cheek. He started becoming flustered but he couldn’t resist kissing Dove’s cheek again while smiling. Dove giggled as he blushed shyly and yelped softly when Choco started smothering his face in kisses. “Choco! Choco! Choco!” Dove yelled out while giggling. “Not in front of the kids!”
“C’mon, Strawberry Cookie! You HAVE to join us!” Pancake Cookie begged.
“Yes! Your king wishes so! You shall be the second scariest Cookie! Obviously, I’m gonna be the scariest! But we can be ghost buddies!”
“B-but I…!”
“Of course, of course! The Halloween Ghost would be excited to meet you all!”
Dove stopped Choco before happily putting a kiss on his forehead. Pancake Cookie gulped and hid behind Dove.
“The Halloween… Ghost?!”
“Oh yes, the Halloween Ghost. I’ve heard this story since I was a young cookie. On the night of Halloween, when the full moon appears on the pitch black sky with not even a single cloud to be seen…comes a very special guest. This guest moves so silently, you can’t even hear their footsteps. But you’ll know they’re here once you hear them knock on your door three times… They take the form of a harmless, adorable Cookie who harbors a great dark secret…”
Strawberry Cookie gulped. “And the secret is…?”
Dove and Choco smirked at each other until the door knocked and it was exactly three times. “OH NO! It’s the Halloween Ghost!” Custard panicked.
“OH REALLY? So cool! I’ll get the door! Whee!” Pancake Cookie flew towards the door and slowly opened it. Latte Cookie came in and greeted the Cookies.
“Oh, how nice to see you all here– Oh my. Why does everyone, well…almost everyone, look like they’ve seen a ghost?”
“We… were talking about one, actually. Will you be going to the party, Latte Cookie?”
“Ha ha, why yes! I came here right before the party so that I could keep my costume a surprise… Didn’t expect to be in the spotlight just yet!”
Strawberry Cookie giggled, “I hear you…”
“Wait, just before the party? Oh dear, I should finish things up now! Here, take a look, everyone! Go ahead, try it on!”
When Mont Blanc Cookie gave them their costumes, they all tried it on and how Dove looked was absolutely fantastic! Choco’s eyes were closed as he was excited to see what Dove looked like.
“Alright dear, open your eyes.”
Choco opened her eyes and then his eyes widened as he blushed a very deep red. Dove’s hair was a long curled ponytail that sticks up a little bit. His outfit did emulate the uniforms of medieval squires, with the elements of feminine Victorian fashion. He wore a black detailed gown consisting of a floor-length A-line skirt, a black corset adorned with sparkles and the chest shaped into a sweetheart neckline with lace fabric, and a pair of black gloves with a red ribbon hanging from one of the wrists. Of course, he wears a black top hat on his head. The skirt sprouts from the corset and is colored with translucent layers with sparkles with a dark red ribbon that composes each strap on the sleeve and wraps around the navel. The cape he wears is a black cape with a dull purple and orange gradient inside. Drawn in it is a black scenery composed of bats, spooky trees, crosses, buildings, and glowing faces and lights. A chain holds the cape shut at the neck with a similar charm hanging from the right corner. His shoes were black pumps with an ankle strap and lace design on the hell. Sewn to the foot is a fluffy, dark red accent. Comes with black stockings that have a pattern of small, dark red bats on the upper leg. For his earrings, a tiny pair of red, gold, and black earrings that are shaped like wrapped candies. Behind his back was black devil wings with dark red colored skin flaps.
“Father, you’re adorable!”
“Oh thank you, dear. Thanks to Mont Blanc Cookie, she really outdid herself.”
Choco kissed Dove’s cheek and he giggled before pecking his cheeks back.
“Ahem! How do I look?” Custard Cookie asked while happy about his new costume. He looked at Pancake Cookie as he cheered. “What about me?! Look at me! I look way cuter!” Dove giggled softly then pecked Custard and Pancake’s cheek
“You both look cuter than ever, dears. You two, Strawberry Cookie. That color looks so cute. Thank you so much, Mont Blanc Cookie.”
“The pleasure is all mine! Please visit the Mont Blanc Boutique again for any of your stylish needs!”
They waved goodbye to Mont Blanc Cookie and then walked around the part of the Kingdom, seeing all the other Cookies getting treats. Dove was holding Choco’s hand as he smiled softly. Gingerbrave called out, “There you are! C’mon! The party just started!”
“... And the best-dressed Cookie will be announced at the end of the party. Until then, please enjoy yourselves! And don’t forget to have fun!”
Dove looked at Choco giggled as he led Choco to the dance floor. Chooc blushed and then he slowly intertwined his hand with Dove’s and then rested his forehead against Dove’s. “I didn’t know parities could be…this exciting…”
Choco quietly said as he smiled at Dove. Dove smiled back while giggling. “Of course. All alone from the darkness within, you didn’t realize how cold you were… Remember when I had talked to you through the void? You were so sad, so cold, so lost that you didn’t know where to go.”
Choco looked down as a tear ran down his eye. Dove put his hand on his cheek, looking at him through the eyes of his soul. The healed eye seemed to be doing well since Dove healed him.
“Look at you now… Safe from the grasp of Darkness and now, a wonderful Prince.” Dove let out a soft smile as Choco smiled back, chuckling almost before twirling him around slowly. He pulled Dove back gently and looked into his eyes as he does so. Then Dove noticed the Cookie dressed up as a gigantic pumpkin.
“Oh goodness, it’s… he’s humongous.”
Choco turned around and then blinked, “Well that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a Cookie in a pumpkin Costume or…is that even a Cookie.”
“Oh!” Dove chuckled, “I think I might know who that is. Pompon?”
The Pumpkin turned his head and when he looked at Dove, his eyes slowly turned into heart eyes and then smiled, “My little Dove~”
He said out before walking towards them. The ground shook from the large stomps then Pompon picked Dove up and nuzzled his face against his.
“Oh my Dear Pompon, how are you?”
“I am wonderful, my dear Dove. I’ve missed you for so long. Pumpkin was right that we're going to meet you today.”
Pumpkin Pie Cookie appeared right behind Choco, “Your costume is very wonderful! He he!”
Choco slightly jumped and looked down at the Cookie.
“ACK! Oh… sorry. You startled me! Goodness…um, excuse me of my manners but I’m Dark Choco Cookie. What’s yours?”
“I’m Pumpkin Pie Cookie. Do you not like parties?”
“Pumpkin dear…” Dove called out. She looked back at Dove and giggled. “Father!” Pumpkin jumped into Dove’s arms and nuzzled her face in Dove’s embrace. “Hello, my wonderful Pumpkin Pie.”
Pumpkin Pie Cookie giggled before looking back at Choco. “Do you not like parties, Dark Choco Cookie?”
“Oh no no no, it’s not that. It’s just that it’s the first time that I’ve ever celebrated something festive like this since…my…birthday.”
Choco looked down then Pumpkin Pie Cookie noticed it. She thought for a moment then she smiled, “Then we can celebrate today. On this day, on Hallow’s Eve, we can think of happy thoughts. I always want every Cookie I meet to be happy.”
“That… That would be nice…”
Choco felt a certain feeling that he felt a bit calm and at ease.
“Then… Why don’t you play with us today?”
Choco nodded then Pumpkin Pie Cookie giggled and took his hand, leading him further into the party. “Hello, Dove! Are you here to show off your moves as well?” Gingerbrave asked while excited to dance.
“Hey! I was waiting in line to dance with Pompon!”
“That would be nice little one but I want to dance with my darling Prince.”
Dove giggled while blushing shyly. “Would you like to dance with me, brother?” Pumpkin Pie Cookie asked Choco. He nodded yes. He offered his hand to Pumpkin Pie Cookie as he bowed down and she took it, going to the Dance Floor. Pompon did the same then Dove took his hand and then looked at Pompon lovingly.
(The music:
Halloween Music – Vampire Waltz
)
As they danced, Choco slowly twirled Pumpkin Pie Cookie around as the dance as Pompon dipped Dove Cookie a little bit then looked into his eyes.
“You look lovely dear. Do you remember our Hallow’s Eve Wedding?”
“Of course, how can I forget?”
(If you have noticed, Pompon is a supernatural being in a form of a doll and for pete sake, yes, he does talk like a gentleman but if you want to know, while in his huge form, he met Prince Dove Cookie two days before last Halloween and fell in love and so did Dove and so they got married, on Halloween…)
On the day of Halloween, every ghost, every witch, every goblin, every cake monster gathered around the Haunted Manor. As Dove looked at the mirror, the ghostly maiden, Blackberry Cookie, looked at his stature and the type of makeup to apply to. Pompon took deep breaths as a cake monster minion put the ruby jam gem on his suit. Blackberry Cookie gently stroked the brush of red against his lips, wiping the remains of it as it dripped. A bold red lipstick. Replacing the buttons on his suit as the maid put the ruby earrings on his ears. Pompon looked at the mirror and smiled as he closed his eyes, quietly saying, “I will have everything I deserve…”
As the doors opened, the corridor was decorated as the large chandelier hangs from the ceiling. The rose petals slowly started to fall as Dove walked down the red carpet. He looked at the Cookies, drinking Berry Juice as they looked at the bride-to-be. He smiled under the veil as he looked at Pompon, who smiled back at his glorious stature. When he reached Pompon, they looked at each other and smiled before looking at the ghostly priest.
“Dearly Beloved and distinguished guests, the damned and the cursed. The holy and the blessed. As we witness Pompon and Dove, their souls and their very beings, to be united on this Hallows Haunted Day, a sacred vow forever love to stay, for true love is like a ghost, often mentioned by rarely seen.”
The Bride and Groom turned to each other and then held each other’s hands. Dove couldn’t help but let out a small giggle as he looked up at Pompon.
“Pompon and Dove. It is believed that the veil between this word and the next is thinnest on Halloween night. This makes tonight the perfect time to join two souls in matrimony lasting not only in this life but also the next.
Dear Ones, it's now the haunting time, the moon so luminous will shine with stars embedded in the sky ye shall rise up from yonder nigh. As you journey together for a lifetime on earth beware, for below your feet is the Devil’s turf. Forever and ever as you marry on this day and united together, your souls will stay.”
He looked at Pompon and said, “Pompon, will you have Dove to be your husband, to live with him, respect him, to love him, to haunt and howl at the moon together as long as you both shall live?”
“I will.” Pompon responded.
He turned to Dove. “Prince Dove Cookie, will you have Pompon to be your husband, to live with him respect him, to love him, and t haunt and howl at the moon together as long as you both shall live?”
“I will.” Dove responded.
“Now that you have declared your ghastly intentions, I invite you to share your vows with one another. Pompon, repeat to Prince Dove after me these words:
I will stand by your side,
Hunt at your back
And fly within your Soul.
I will stand between you
And all which would harm you
I will shield you from the Light of Day with my dough
I will never betray you,
For you are my Heart, my Soul, and my LIfe.
You take mas your husband
And I take you as my bride.”
And so Pompon did. Dove did the same as well, a vanilla tear running down his cheeks. “May we now have the rings.”
The ringbearer, Pumpkin Pie Cookie, handed them the rings.
“These rings you take are not to bind but to show that you are of the same mind. To have and hold from this night, in madness and in raging fun. Take these now and show the throng how love of each has made you strong.”
Pompon takes a ring and gently holds Dove’s hand. The Ghostly Priest looked at Pompon. “Pompon, will you take this ring and place it upon the left dough of Dove’s hand, as you do, repeat after me, these words:
Dove, I give you this ring
As a symbol of our linked hearts
And the covenant of undying faithfulness
Which we make today and seal with our vows.”
Dove took the ring and did the same as he looked at the Pompon, which now it was time for the handfasting, traditionally using a cloth or cord to use as a chain, or plastic faux chain for a Halloween or Goth look. In this cause, it’s Halloween so…yeah! This is what they’ve chosen, truly.
“Pompon and Prince Dove have chosen to seal their union traditional handfasting and wine ceremony. Now I bid you look into one another’s eyes and hearts. I ask you now to cross your hands over each, and take on other’s hands. Stars shine like eyes, the black night sighs. From the night we come, to the night we go. Cursed or blessed to walk the Moonlight alone. Sometimes another soul walks our path, then two become one, in love everlasting. Within each other, these two are found, bear witness as their souls are bound.”
They bind their wrists together with the red cloth a doblet on their right hands was placed. This wasn’t regular Berry Juice, this…was Nightshade Berry Juice. Filled with the darkest berries you’ve ever seen (blueberries), the Souls of the Damned, and just a tiny drop of their secret ingredient: Blood Jam.
“Stand now as ye will stand forever, like this chain your hearts are tethered, the goblet’s wine is your jam of devotion, so sip from this, the dedication potion.”
The couple took turns drinking from the goblet with their right hands. The Priest was handed the sissorers.
“The final sealing with a kiss in death as well as in this life, I now declare you husband and wife.”
He cut the cord, removing it from their right hands, saying, “The knots of this binding are not formed by these chords but instead by your vows. Either of you may drop the chords, for as always, you hold in your hands the making or breaking of this union. You may kiss the bride!”
Pompon picked up Dove gently then kissed him lovingly. Dove kissed back as he placed his hand on Pompon's cheek.
“Dearly beloved, the cursed and blessed, vampires and werewolves, ghouls, goblins and all the souls in unrest… It is with great pleasure to present to you, King Pompon and Prince Dove Cookie!”
Pompon chuckled and then after a while, they were sitting at their table as a small cake hound was speaking through the microphone. Tears streamed down his eyes as he found the speech so sweet. Dove was handed a tissue and smiled.
“Such kind words from you, small one. Thank you.”
Dove nodded, then Pompon and Dove carefully cut a piece of Haunted Berry Cake and smiled while looking at how the chocolate was oozing out. They ate a piece of it and then he licked his lips as Dove blushed very deeply.
Then a few minutes later, they started dancing with the other guests. They were looking at each other lovingly while dancing. He was happy when the Ancients (his best friends) were watching happily.
Pompon then twirled Dove around while dancing the Waltz and before you knew it, they were upside down, dancing on the ceiling.
“Is it everything you like, my beautiful poisonberry?” Pompon asked and Dove nodded as he hugged Pompon. “It is wonderful! I can’t believe that I am married! I’ve just noticed that I’m polynomial.” Pompon chuckled.
“I can’t wait to have younglings of our own. Oh how beautiful they will look from the most beautiful cookie in all of Earthbread.”
“So…Pumpkin Pie Cookie will have another Father. Two to be exact.”
Pompon giggled softly and then he pecked his lips. “She loves you as well. Like I love you, my beautiful Dovey~”
“I love you too, my Pumpkin King!”
Oh the memories! It filled him with delight.
“Pompon, you’re such a good dancer! Isn’t it hard to move in that gigantic pumpkin costume?” Custard asked, amazed by how well Dove and Pompon are performing.
“You might be surprised at how easy it is.”
Pancake Cookie thought for a moment then shouted out, “Wait, I get it! That’s not a gigantic costume! Pompon’s just a really big cookie!”
“A handsome cookie at that!” Dove added while dancing with Pompon.
“Darling, if you keep on saying such sweet words then I might have to scoop you up.”
Dove giggled as he poked his nose. “Oh you stop, you charmer!”
“Y’know, big cookies are just too crispy and hard for hugs. But you’re different, Pompon! You’re so FLUFFY! He he!” Pancake Cookie giggled as he hugged Pompon.
He chuckled. “Such wonderful children you are.”
They stopped once the microphone feedback was heard.
“Mic cheek, one-two, one-two… Ladies and gentlemen! I hope you’re all having a good time! And now, the moment you have all been waiting for! “Who are the best-dressed Cookies”!?” Sparkling Cookie laughed, “Ha ha, the judges want you all to know that it was incredibly difficult to choose the winner–everyone looked absolutely dazzling in their great costumes! Let’s get started, shall we? It’ll start from number five and move up! The fifth place goes to…”
He opened the envelope and looked inside.
“Wa ha ha! I know I’m gonna take first place!” Custard Cookie proclaimed proudly. Oh how cute he was when he’s like that. It’s always adorable for Dove to see.
“Do you get Acorn Jellies if you win first place?” Pancake Cookie excitedly asked.
“I’m not sure but I do have some spare acorn jellies if you want.” Dove suggested as he lifted his basket full of acorn jellies. Pancake’s eyes widened then he nibbled on the Acorn Jellies, making Dove giggle at Pancake’s stuffed face.
“Now come on, they’re going to announce who came in third place.”
“Madeleine Cookie! Always know the way to a Cookie’s heart, don’t ya! Come on up here!”
As he did, instead of his usual colors, he was dressed in black and red. The Dark Knight.
“Ha ha! Perhaps everyone has taken a “shine” to myself! Hope I will continue to illuminate this lovely kingdom!” Madeleine Cookie jokingly replied.
“And in second place…is our favorite teacher with always a smile on her face! Looks like she took the time to prepare for our little exam here…and absolutely NAILED IT! It’s Latte Cookie!”
She came up on stage and she looked like a Witchy fellow which made Dove giggle and wave at Latte Cookie who waved back.
“Aww, thanks everyone! I’m so glad you all like my new look! But don’t worry, I’ll be back to my usual self tomorrow! He he.” Latte Cookie let out a soft giggle.
“Now… It looks like we only have first place left! I’d like to just add that it has been an incredible honor to present this award…”
He raised a trophy for first place called “The Hallows Eve Costume of the Year”
“For these Cookies had us floored with their snazzy moves! Every Cookie wanted to dance with them but their love grew from their dance! Ladies and Gentlemen, the best-dressed Cookie award goes to…King Pompon, Prince Dove Cookie, Dark Choco Cookie, and Pumpkin Pie Cookie!”
Dove gasped softly then cheered in delight when he heard the announcement. Pumpkin Pie Cookie laughed as she hugged Dark Choco Cookie in delight. They waved at the Cookies once they got on stage and raised the trophy up high for them to see.
“Thank you everyone! I mean, this trophy is nothing since all Cookies are winners because of your wonderful costumes! You are fantastic on the dance floor and it was a total blast hanging out with you all! And of course, I had so much fun dancing with my son, my daughter, and my husband this Halloween Night! Let the Haunts and Spirits roam and forever be scared for this is the time for a Nightmare Night to rise! Happy HALLOWS EVE!”
“HAPPY HALLOWS EVE!” The crowd shouted while applauding.
“That’s it, folks! We’re going to end the party with our best-dressed Cookies’ dance! Pompon, Choco, please dazzle us with your dance moves once again! Thank you, everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic night!”
The next day, Dove yawned softly as he stretched and then greeted the neighbors and other Cookies. He noticed Pompon talking to Pumpkin Pie Cookie then when he turned his head, he smiled and hugged Dove Cookie.
“Good morning, love.”
“Good morning, my dear.”
They nuzzled their heads together. Choco and Pumpkin joined in the hug while smiling softly. “That party has taken a toll on me. It reminds me of the time when we hosted balls and parties.”
“And how you will always wake up bright and early in the morning without any wink of tiredness.”
Dove giggled, “Oh I assure you, I was pretty tired but with hosting so many parties and balls, it hasn’t bothered me ever since.”
Pompon kissed his cheek and then rested his head on top of Dove’s.
“But the year is not over yet for…you might say, this Halloween Night has just…begun…”
Dove chuckled as Pompon said that then broke the fourth wall. Their eyes glowed a bright orange. So did Pumpkin’s but Chico’s glowed red as they broke the fourth wall.
“Happy Halloween…”
Chapter 8: Snow on the Black Wall
Summary:
After the fight from the Legendary Greenish-Dragon and reclaiming his part as Prince of the Hollyberry Kingdom, Dove, Choco, Licorice, and the others went to the Dark Cacao Kingdom. It was located on the edge of the Giant Icing Ridge, as the snow never stops falling high up on the mountains on the east most edge of Crispia.
There he notices that his King has grown sorrowful, and it leads him to worry and suspicion.
Chapter Text
Every time when the wind blows, he could feel a shiver down his spine. Journeying through the mountains was long as it was cold. He looked down as he rubbed the side of his arms, quivering a little bit. He then looked outside through the window and then noticed a Young Snow Cooking knocking at the gates.
"Hello...? Guard! Is anyone there? Open the gates! Please! Let me in!" she said as she banged on the gates.
"Leave at once. The castle's gates open for no one!" Gatekeeper Cookie shouted.
"I must meet King Dark Cacao Cookie and Prince Dove! Our village... is in danger..."
The gates opened when she said that. Dove slowly walked from gates of the Black Citadel as Affogato Cookie was behind him, and then looked down at the Young Snow Cookie, who was catching her breath almost. Dove slowly kneeled down and looked into her eyes as his neck was covered in cotton fluff to keep him warm as the sleeves of his kimono kept his hands warm.
"Did you say that your village is in danger?" Dove asked, in a soft tone.
"Our village has been starving for days! Things are so desperate; the adults are stealing things! And... wild beasts keep attacking everyone! We need your help! Please, send the Watchers!"
"This is ill news indeed... That is, if you speak the truth." Affogato Cookie suspiciously looked at the Cookie. Dove stood up and glared at Affogato with a raised eyebrow, "Why would you think she would be lying?"
"Well, my Prince, we've received word of villages on the outskirts disappearing one by one. But such rumors are easily exaggerated, even distorted."
"I'm not lying!" The young cookie shouted. "The king must come and see for himself! Please, dear Prince, come and see for yourself!"
Dove sighed quietly when he heard this.
"Their Majesties are occupied elsewhere. If you seek aid, you will not find it-"
He raised his hand and cut him off. "Guards, send two of some of the watchers to check the villages. And make sure that this matter is taken care of. Speak nothing of this to the King."
The Gateskeeper Cookie nodded and quickly was sent to carry the message. Dove slowly patted his head and then he walked back into the Black Citadel. Affogato Cookie brought him inside as the gates closed behind them. I looked back as a sorrow filled his eyes. What has my King become...?
In the throne room, Dove stood beside Cacao as he stood in front of his throne, his arm wrapped around Dove's waist as his hand was on the side of his waist. His sleeve hid part of his face as he looked down, thinking about what the Young Snow Cookie said.
"My King. My Prince. Another bothersome petitioner came seeking your presence. The prince took care of them, just like the others..." he proudly said.
Cacao groaned, resting his head against Dove's who blushed but patted his head. It seems that he was tired as Dove was tired as well.
Dove looked at Cacao then glared at Affogato Cookie, who backed away a little bit.
”Your Majesties, I believe they find it odd that the castel’s gates are locked. There are… voices of dissent as well.”
He sighed. “The burdens that weigh heavily upon my shoulders… There are none who understand…except for my love…”
Dove looked back at Cacao and patted his head before looking back at Affogato. “Dear, it was never your fault. Will you be ridden of the guilt that lies in your soul?”
”But we must not falter. It is imperative that our defense be bolstered, as per the plan…”
Dove glared at Cacao and for Pete sake, he was really about to unleash her Mother-side. Almost like a Grandmother.
“ My lieges…! Your humble servant stands in awe before your wisdom.” Affogate happily said.
“With your blessing, I shall oversee the day to day undertakings so that Your Majesty may strength our walls without—“
I stopped him with a hand raised.
“I shall oversee the undertakings, Affogate Cookie. You must be patient and not overstep the boundaries of your power.”
Cacao nodded in agreement.
“These walls are the only defenses between our lands and the Licorice Sea. We must remain vigilant, for those foul beasts may strike at any moment. For now, we continue to fortify our defense and keep a wary eye towards the sea. This entire contient’s fate is at stake…”
I nodded, then I looked down.
“May we be alone, Affogate Cookie? I need to speak to my husband about…personal matters.”
He nodded and then left the throne room. Dove then looked at Cacao then Cacao looked at Dove, then Dove bonked his head.
“I swear to you upon Fortuna if you don’t take a break—!”
”But the Kingdom might be in—“
Dove slowly cracked his knuckles and then tackled Cacao then wrestled him. “I said take a break! Before I make you!”
”You temptress! Don’t you dare!”
“Oh yes I will!!” They both continued wrestling until Cacao pinned Dove to the floor and looked into his eyes, panting heavily from the wrestling match. They looked at each other and then Cacao blushed and then started dragging Dove to their chambers.
“Hey hey! What did I just say?! Don’t you dare!”
“Don’t make me use my sword for this!”
“You wouldn’t dare!”
Cacao smirked evilly down at Dove then Dove’s cheeks blushes and grabbed a pillar.
”Now I said don’t you dare! Don’t you dare!”
”Alright, the sword it is.”
Cacao chuckled teasingly while heading over to the chambers. “No! No! No!”
Cacao stretched a bit while putting his hair in a nice ponytail. He put his cape away then smiled softly at Dove who was on the bed, blushing shyly, then Cacao crawled towards Dove and slowly turned him around so he can see his face.
“Next time if you wanted some alone time, just tell me~”
Dove giggles quietly but then they were interrupted when Affogato Cookie wanted to have a meeting to talk about Caramel Arrow Cookie. Cacao groaned and answered, “We’ll be there in a minute.”
Cacao looked back at Dove before smothering his face with kisses. Dove giggled quietly and then nuzzles her cheek against his.
”Remember the day when we were married? And when you become a Ruler by my side?”
Dove smiled as he looked up at Cacao. “Indeed I do love… Oh it was wonderful…” He remembered it like it was yesterday…
As he walked towards their chambers, there was Dove, sitting on their bed with a veil over his head. The maids stood up and he smiled as he looked at Dove directly into the eyes.
“Your Majesty, the dragon horn lift. It’s time to lift the veil.”
He was given the dragon horn lift then he gently lifted the veil off Dove who smiled back at Cacao. “Sit to receive blessings.”
Dove slowly moved to the side, letting him sit right beside him then held his hand as they looked at the servants.
“Drink the Berry Wine.”
The Eunuch motioned the two maidens, Dove’s right hand maidens, walked towards them and then poured the wine in their cups.
“Your Majesty, Your Highness, please drink the Berry Wine.”
When they finished pouring, they kneeled in front of the two and talked in union, “Wishing Emperor and Prince go be harmonious for a hundred years.”
They took the wine then looked at each other. They took turns into drinking the wine from the same cup.
“And have many children and grandchildren.”
They took the wine then served them a piece of Jelly Dumplings. They both ate together then Dove blinked when he exclaimed when it tasted so good. Ever since he was Prince, there were more foods that satisfied the denizens of the Dark Cacao Kingdom. FINALLY!! They took away their food and then smiled as they all bowed down in front of them.
“Congratulations, Your Majesty and Your Highness on your happy occasion.”
They bowed down before standing up then closing the curtains. Dove and Cacao shared a look then giggled softly before they started taking off their clothing to be more comfortable. Well, not all of it--Mostly Cacao taking off his crown and fluffy cape and Dove taking off the earrings and the crown.
"I've forgotten how exhausting these preparations can be."
He fanned himself with a fan and relaxed next to Dove. Dove sighed happily and rubbed his eyes.
"Cacao, I'm exhausted from today." Dove said as he started laying down and eating some jelly dumplings. Cacao climbed onto the bed, grabbed Dove's hand and pulled him in close.
Dove giggled and felt kisses on his cheek a lot. They nuzzled each other through the night and closed their eyes.
Cacao stood on his throne as Dove was beside him, looking down at Affogato Cookie and the Council. From so many years, he might act strict and extremely protective of the Dark Cacao Kingdom and knowing to be very very very protective of Dove but he is a loving husband and a loving father. Of course, he has a soft spot for both of them but you know Dove, he can be...very serious during times like this.
You could tell it from his face that his eyes are always half closed and he never did smile but only smiled privately like in the chambers or when no one is around.
"Your Majesties, a little bird has told me that the First Watcher has been shirking her duties and lollygagging at the villages, handing our rations most likely stolen from the citadel's pantries."
Dove titled his head as he glared at Affogato Cookie.
"That is funny cause I seem to have heard that a little bird was watching Caramel Arrow Cookie give away her rations to the poor. For I have not seen her steal from the citadel's pantries."
Affogato Cookie's eyes widened as he gulped quietly.
"There is not truth to Affogato's claims. It was my own rations that I decided to share and my own time I've invested in order to keep our lands safe!"
Affogato Cookie huffed. "How impetuous! Are you accusing this humble court of failing to serve our Cookies? Are you implying that His Majesty's aides are selfish, greedy, and conniving?"
"Affogato Cookie, watch your tongue!" He jumped when Dove shouted out.
"My lord, a young cookie came to the citadel to ask for aid. I acted accordingly to guard the Tribes and follow the young cookie to her tribe. They have taken care of it, I believed."
Caramel Arrow Cookie answered, "You have twisted my words and their intent!"
"If loitering outside these walls is what you enjoy, why not be repositioned as First Snow Plower? My Liege, I believe it wise that this lackadaisical Cookie before you be banished from our stalwart citadel."
Dove stomped his foot on the throne and growled as he was close to his breaking point.
"Excuse me, Affogato Cookie! You BETTER WATCH YOUR TONGUE! You're lucky that I am being generous because I would have you banished from the stalwart citadel. From the lies you have spilled in this Kingdom, I would have imprisoned you in the dungeons! But...I am...not that type of Prince-"
He stopped when he smelled something from the side. He looked at the side of the throne and noticed that it was one of Affogato's "medicines".
Dove's eyes widened when he winced softly as it made his hurt his head. He then growled and then kicked the medicine off the throne room. Cacao's eyes widened then quickly grabbed Dove.
"Dove, what's wrong? What's wrong?"
Dove squirmed and looked at Affogato Cookie with a growl. Cacao kept on holding him then he looked at Affogato Cookie with a glare. "What did you do?"
Affogato Cookie stuttered as he smiled nervously.
"How...DARE YOU!! HOW DARE YOU!"
Dove threw the other medicine away and saw the purple smoke fading. Dove then stared down at Affogato Cookie, then summoned his Bow of Light and pointed the arrow at Affogato Cookie. Cacao quickly stopped him.
"DOVE! Calm down, think about the babies... Calm down, think about the babies..." Cacao put his hand on his cheeks but Dove started crying.
"How dare you harm my King, Affogato... They never gave aid to the King... They given him MADNESS!!" Dove shouted out as Dove cried on Cacao's chest. Cacao shushed and stroked Dove's head while holding me close. He looked down at Dove' stomach and rubbed it to try and calm him down.
The court was bowing down, pleading.
"I'm right here, my love... I'm right here..."
Dove then shouted out to Affogato Cookie, "YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO COME INTO THIS COURT AND SAY YOU SHALL HELP IN OUR STRUGGLES BUT WITH YOUR LIES AND WITCHCRAFT, YOU HAVE DONE ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!!"
Cacao looked back at the medicine and hugged Dove tightly as he continued comforting him. Caramel Arrow Cookie pointed her weapon at Affogato Cookie.
"Think about the babies... Think about the babies..."
He stood up and glared at Affogato Cookie.
"Affogato Cookie. Heed my words. You need not return. You have caused harm in my kingdom and brought nothing but pain and disorder amongst my court, including to my beloved. May you be banished to the frostridden mountains. Nor will I ever be able to see a sight from your cape or the smile that you carry on your face. BEGONE!"
The Cookie Guards started dragging him out of the Citadel with only the shouting and yelling of his pleas echoing the halls. Cacao breathed heavily then looked down at Dove, who passed out because of the emotions and well...of what he carried inside his stomach.
Dove was sleeping peacefully on in their chambers as the maidens kept him warm. Dove has gotten a cold since his time in the Dark Cacao Kingdom because of well, mostly of trying to make sure the denizens were fed and taken care for.
Even though Cacao said not to, he did it anyway. So now, he's got a cold!
Dove slowly opened his eyes, only half open as soggy bags was under his eyes. Dove...hasn't slept in days. And even though he has a cold, he also carries other diseases: Bronchitis, Severe Hypothermia, and Frostbite. Because Dove's skin is almost white and the dough is insensitive to the touch. It's a deep Frostbite so...it's sensitive to the touch.
As Cacao held Dove tightly in his arms, keeping him warm as a worried look appears on his face as a small tear ran down his cheek. "My love..." he whispered. Dove looked up at Cacao who sniffled quietly and kissed the top of his forehead.
"Please get better soon..."
He was received news about the Dark Chocolate Wall.
"These fortifications were ordered to be bolstered weeks ago, but it is proceeding at a sugar snail's pace. Quarry more cocoa and bring more syrup! Coat the walls in thick layers of chocolate to reinforce them!"
"By your command, my king!"
Dove gently put his hand on Cacao's cheek and quietly soothed him with a small smile before it faded away to a soft frown. Closing his eyes, he snuggled into Cacao's chest a bit more. Cacao sighed quietly and rested his head on top of Dove's. And now, it seems that Dove's soft sweet voice as turned into a raspy voice from coughing so much.
"Dear, you are overworking the soldiers... Our kingdom's coffers cannot sustain these efforts. Please...use great caution... Because the more we use rainbow jellies...the kitchen would have to use plain jellies..."
Dove coughed quietly and felt Cacao pull the heavy sheets closer.
"But there won't be any meals at all if our kingdom is to fall."
Dove gripped tightly to Cacao's chin and stared right into Cacao's eyes.
"This Kingdom is going to fall in starvation with you focusing on the Wall! The soldiers are growing weary as you are! As King of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, you must pace yourself..."
He coughed harshly and quickly went to the trashcan. Cacao quickly patted his back as Dove threw up. Cacao was panicking a bit when Dove was throwing up. Cacao thought for a moment and then he looked at the messenger.
"Tell the workers to stop the construction and bring resources to the Tribe."
He nodded and quickly sent in through the message.
"I'll be back, my love. I need to get you some soup!"
Cacao laid Dove down after he was finished and wiped his face. As he was away, Dove demanded for the members of the Court to come to the chambers.
"The court must be convened. All ministers, present yourselves at the Hall of Dignity."
Cube Choco Cookie bowed down and asked, "Forgive me for this question, my lord, but what is the meaning of this summons when we should be focusing on our king's commands?"
Dove looked down as I coughed softly.
"For so long I have wished that there was peace but I’ve learned many years ago that there is no such thing as peace…without suffering."
"And there are those who must pay that price for the sake of others. You all know that in all of Earthbread there is the harshest edge that lies a blizzard-ridden Kingdom of Warriors on the Giant Icing Ridge of Crispia. Here, the Cookies are born in battle. Their iron Will is forged from the fires of rigorous training and combat."
"You all know me as Prince Dove Cookie, Prince of the Four Kingdoms, the husbands of the Kings and Queens of the Kingdoms but mostly, the ruler of this warrior nation. You, Dark Cacao Warriors, have guarded along the Great Chocolate Wall to defend this continent from any threat, whether it be monsters from the Licorice Sea or the dragons of the North and South. You, Dark Cacao Warriors, forged in steel and honor among your dough, I ask you but one simple thing: To BANISH any threat to the peace of our lands and show them the might of the Dark Cacao Kingdom! Don’t let the Great Chocolate Wall stand in your way for helping the other Kingdoms! Become allies! Forge your stories! Show you the greatness of what the Dark Cacao Kingdom truly means in the eyes of the cookies! NO MORE shall we be in solitude, NO MORE shall we be locked away by this wall, no more I say... Let the darkness begone! Let the world see your might! For it is time…to not look through the past. The time has finally come… For...the Kingdom..."
Dove closed his eyes before going passing out. The Court Members panicked almost when Dove passed out.
"Quickly, get some fresh MILK AND RESOURCES FOR THE PRINCE!"
They all ran out then after a few minutes, Choco secretly came from the window and sat on the side of the bed. "I'm back, Father."
Dove opened his eyes and smiled weakly at Choco. "My son... How was your journey?" He quietly hugged Dove and wrapped a nice quilt blanket around Dove. "It was good. I've made this for you."
Dove looked down at the quilt and he smiled softly. "You've made this for me? It's so wonderful..."
Choco smiled then he looked down. "I was wondering...if I could speak to Father, at the top of the tallest wall."
Dove looked at Choco and reassured him with a kiss on the cheek. "Of course. He has wished to see you since the day...you were banished from the Kingdom. And he has regretted it ever since."
Choco's eyes widened before looking down as tears streamed down his eyes "But...will he believe me that I have shown good? For the memories still haunt my mind and I hate it so... He must know that I come here for forgiveness. For I have come of news that the Dark Armies will come and lay waste to this entire land."
Dove's eyes widened in shock then his anger started to boil but he kept his calm.
"He will listen... He has longed to see you since that day. If you say that Dark Enchantress Cookie is bring destruction to this Citadel, then we must act quickly." Dove stood up with the help of Choco and walked towards the window, looking directly at the Dark Chocolate Wall. "If they get their hands on the soul jam then all hope will falter."
"And I have heard that Affogato Cookie is trying to claim the throne from Father, and I am worried what it will bring to this world."
Dove and Choco looked into each other's eyes and then nodded. "Let us warn the King...together..."
They held each other's hand then set up a plan. When Cacao came back, Dove slowly smiled as he walked towards him. He then grabbed Cacao's hand and started leading him to the tallest wall.
"I have...something to show you that requires your presence." He told Cacao. "It's a surprise for you."
"A surprise? What surprise?"
"I promise you won't be disappointed. Because...there is a certain cookie who has finally come home..."
Cacao's eyes squinted in confusion before his eyes widened. He quickly started to run up the stairs to the Tallest Wall then panted heavily. The door slammed open and when he saw Choco, his eyes widened from shock.
Choco was looking down as he looked away shyly.
"I...I know what you're going to say, F...Father... I shouldn't h-have come here. I know I've stayed away...all those years ago. I came back t-to...make ends m-meet. Well, what s-sign did I have that I could c-come back, Father? That I...w-was allowed to come back h-home?"
Cacao was still shocked as he doesn't say anything through all of this. He was slowly moving closer to Choco.
"I h-have regretted ever s-since I...I stormed t-the Citadel..."
Dove came up and looked back at Choco. Choco's tears streamed down his cheeks.
"I k-know that I have d-done wrong in the past...and I thought that you'd be better off without me. A-And I w-was wrong... I s-see t-t-t-that now, b-but..." He nervously backed up against the wall as Cacao came even more. Choco was on the verge of tears.
"Oh...stop being so stoic, Father. Go on... SHOUT, SCREAM, SAY SOMETHING!"
Cacao touched Choco's cheek as he stares at him in fear. Cacao was also in the verge of tears as he smiled at Choco.
"I have missed you so much, Dark Chocolate..."
Choco quietly weeps in relief then Cacao hugged Choco. Cacao was smiling his brightest smile as he looked down at Choco.
He spoke softly, "I'm not going anywhere and I'm never going to lose you again, Dark Chocolate... My beautiful son..."
Choco giggled quietly as his cheeks were being rubbed.
"Look at your wonderful smile!"
Choco continued giggling at Cacao's compliment. Dove approached them and joined in the hug. But then Dove whimpered quietly as his legs trembled as his water broke. His eyes widened when he winced softly.
“T…The babies… T-The b-b-babies…are c-coming…”
They looked at each other then panicked. Choco picked up Dove while yelling out: “My siblings are coming! THEY’RE COMING!”
“CHOCO, CALM DOWN! JUST DON’T DROP HIM!”
They were running down the Dark Chocolate Stairs and you should have seen them, it’s was so funny!
“Oh jeezus oh jeez oh jeezus—Great Fortuna!” Choco slipped and started tripping down the stairs. Cacao caught me and tried to catch Choco. “Son! For Pete sake! Why do you have to be this goofy?!”
Dove was laughing loudly as he saw them trying to run down the stairs. Dove slowly got down and giggled quietly but winced softly. Well, that was something to make sure the pain goes away. They both fell on the frosting and looked groaned in annoyance.
“THE BABIES!” They shouted in unison before grabbed Dove then running into the Citadel.
“SOMEBODY GIVE ME SOME WARM COTTON TOWELS AND SOME BOILING CHOCOLATE SYRUP!! AND GET THE SOUP FOR PETE SAKE!” Cacao demanded as he was looking around the chambers. Dove was on the bed and he couldn’t stop giggling. The maidens quickly went to the kitchen and prepared for the deliver. They brought in the Deluxe Spicy Stew, Chilly Soup, Bubbly Magical Rainbow Bubble, Jam Chops—All his favorites.
Choco opened his endless space bag and started looking around.
”I’ve got Tea, I’ve got syringes, I’ve got Strawberry boba, onesies, baby sleepers and sacks, baby socks, newborn hats for the summer, winter, fall, and spring--breastfeeding supplies even though we don't really need them--Wait!"
Choco looked back at Dove and then checked his nipples. Dove screamed and bonked Choco's head. "What's the big idea of checking my chest?!"
"Well excuse me for having a Doctor's degree in the Academy, I've got experienced to see if you're breathing." Choco stuck his tongue out and then looked back in his bag. Cacao and Dove blinked in confusion.
"You mean back in College you had a Bachelor Degree for a doctor?"
"Yep!"
Cacao scratched his head and blinked while making Dove's plate in a quick pace. "No wonder you were so well in treating the injured."
Choco winked and then continued looking through his bag.
"I've got a nursing pillow, baby nail clippers, a special blanket that I've made, some outfits that the twins can wear, a rattle--Very cute one, just got at the store in the Hollyberry Kingdom and yes, they have baby rattles and pacifiers."
Cacao offered Dove some soup as Dove was wincing softly. Cacao then spreads his legs and checked.
"Okay, you're in labor so the babies are not coming yet but you are just have some contractions."
Dove nodded. He whimpered softly as he buried his face on the pillow.
"Come on, sweetie, sit up for me."
Dove whimpered softly as he sat up. Some of the maidens propped up his pillow and squeezed his hands. Cacao rubbed Dove's stomach as he was in pain.
"Goodness gracious, oh it hurts, it hurts so much!"
"I know I know--"
"Oh Great Fortuna, THEY'RE COMING!" Dove screamed as he started to be in labor. He panted heavily as sweat was running down his face.
"Oh great dragons, SON, GET ME TOWELS!"
Choco fumbled and then he grabbed the towels and surrounded them around Dove's legs.
"Alright, Father, I can see the head. I want you to push in three...two...one."
Dove yelled out, gripping tightly to Cacao's hand while shaking. "Fortuna...oh g-g-great f-fortuna..."
He stopped for a moment, taking a breather. He looked down at Choco.
"H-How are...t-they?"
"Well, I see a head with a little bit of a white and chocolate frosting on the top, how about that?"
"Like..."
Choco winked while spreading to make sure it was successful.
"A little panda."
Dove smiled while giggling but screamed loudly as he gripped tightly to the bed sheets. Cacao smiled while holding Dove's hand. "Choco Panda Cookie...?"
Dove looked up at Cacao with a smile on her face but with a strained face. "Choco...Panda COOOKKKKKKIIIIIEEEEEEE!"
And that's when the first twin came out and Dove panted heavily, exhausted. He tried so hard not to faint so he looked down at the baby who cried. Cacao's eyes widened in delight when a tear streamed down his eye, looking down at the small baby.
Choco wrapped a blanket around the baby and smiled while the baby cried.
"Come here, my little Panda..."
Dove cooed and looked at his eyes. She found it so adorable when once of them was white and once of them was brown. Cacao held the baby and looked at the baby.
"Hello, my beautiful son... Choco Panda Cookie..."
Dove winced softly while looking at him happily but then he put his hand over his mouth, making sure not to scream. "LORD OF THE GREAT FORTUNA! SWEET CRANBERRY WITCHES!"
Choco couldn't help but laugh at that. Dove threw a pillow at Choco while laughing but he then screamed when the last baby came out.
Dove then panted heavily when he heard another cry then he opened her eyes and Choco cut the cord and sealed it up. Cacao and Choco put the twins on Dove's chest and Dove smiled at the twins.
"My beautiful babies..."
Choco Panda Cookie had a dark dough with specks of white around his body. And ears looked so cute! They were like panda ears of black and white. Panda cooed and nuzzled softly on Dove.
"Look at Panda...he's so adorable..."
Dove giggled quietly then he looked at the other twin.
"Your name shall be...Muddy Cookie."
His dough was chocolate brown and his caramel frosting was combed down with peanut candies sparkled around his frosting hair. "Hello, Muddy Cookie..."
Muddy turned his head and cooed while looking at Choco. He stuck his tongue out and Muddy did the same.
Dove gave birth to two beautiful twins, Choco Panda Cookie and Muddy Cookie and they are as beautiful as ever.
"My beautiful darlings... I promise you that you are going to live and wonderful life and learn about the world... I love both of you..."
Cacao and Choco rested their heads on Dove's and then closed their eyes as they slowly fell asleep.
Well...not for long!

Chapter Text
At the end of the Great Wall, Pomegranate Cookie smiled underneath her sleeve.
"The Great Wall is finally falling... I have looked forward to this moment. Finally, we can bring back the Master thanks to the Licorice Sea. When we finally take Dark Cacao Cookie's Soul Jam, our Master will truly embrace the darkness."
Pomegranate Cookie giggled as she looked through her mirror.
"You will finally come back." She turned and looked at the monsters of the Black Licorice Sea. "Find the Soul Jam and raze the castle to the ground before sunrise."
The monsters groaned and then started charging to the Citadel.
Pomegranate Cookie couldn't stop hiding her cruel smile. Her eyes glowed red as she looked directly at the Citadel and through her mirror, she saw Prince Dove Cookie.
Pomegranate Cookie...was going...insane...!
"Dark Enchantress Cookie was merely a pawn in the game. A second in command. I will find your deepest and darkest secrets Prince Dove Cookie and I assure you...you will be mine. In return, I shall give the Dark Cacao Kingdom a cold and heartless end befitting it."
Dove, Choco, and Cacao was running down the corridor when they heard that Affogato Cookie controlled the Council and now proclaimed himself as the Ruler of the Dark Cacao Kingdom. But...what's a King without a Queen, am I right?
"You there! Give us the Prince!"
Dove whimpered quietly while holding the twins in his arms. Cacao and Choco got in front of Dove protectively.
"You will not lay a hand on the Prince! Including my Sons!"
The Disciple chuckled. "Where are you going to go? How will you pass through the walls? The castle walls are made of reinforced 100% cacao able to withstand any attack! You will never leave this Kingdom!"
"Oh we will leave this place!"
Cacao growled then dashed before laying an attack on the Disciple. Choco followed with and then Dove looked around for a weapon. He found a spear and then held the babies tightly into his arms. The Disciple dodged and threw a batch of Affogato's concoctions to the floor, like a bomb.
Dove gasped loudly and then planted a force field for the both of them. "Run, DOVE!"
Dove nodded then started running past the fight in such a fast pace. Dove passed through the throne room then his eyes widened when he stopped and looked up to see Affogato Cookie.
"Aha ha ha! Let us raise our cups! A day like this deserves no less than the finest! I even took the liberty of adding five sugar cubes to each cup of coffee! What do you think?"
The Second Disciple took a sip and smiled. "I have to say, this is the most sweet and soft! But...shouldn't this feast be for the Prince?"
Affogato Cookie laughed and smiled as he looked around.
"My my, do not fret! My darling Prince will come to this glorious feast. Of course, it's in the honor of him. Because from this day forward, this castle, and all the lands around it, belong to me. Including Dark Cacao Cookie's consort."
Dove was so close to gagging. One of the babies stuck their tongue out at Affogato Cookie because they didn't like him either. "Dark Cacao Cookie as retired from his role as King and I assume that he will finally rest in peace. We will respect the Dark Cacao King. In his honor, he asked me to be the new ruler! Ha ha ha!"
"Thanks to your political genius, we can enjoy even more delights! But tell us, how did you manage to prepare all this food?"
"Let's just say there was some spare coin in the royal treasury."
Dove was at his boiling point because he WORKED VERY HARD TO MAKE SURE THAT THE ROYAL TREASURY WAS FILLED WITH TREASURES FOR MILES!
"The late king was too stingy when it came to spending. That is one of the many improvements the Dark Cacao Kingdom will see under my rule. Through wise and benevolent policies, I will make all Cookies in this kingdom able to spend their days happy and free."
"But will the Cookies be able to accept that? They are known for their rigidness and austerity."
"Then, those who disagree will be banished to the Giant Icing Ridge."
Dove growled and then shot an arrow at Affogato Cookie who jumped. Then he looked down and saw Dove Cookie.
"What did you say about my King?!"
Affogato Cookie chuckled quietly and looked at Dove.
"My darling, you came to me... I will make you forget about Dark Cacao Cookie since you meant the King, as in me."
Dove's eye twitched and then growled.
"You will leave the Dark Cacao Kingdom and you will leave that throne to my husband!"
Affogato Cookie laughed from the threat and then smiled.
"Now now...we don't want anything to happen to your friends now, would we?"
Dove raised an eyebrow and then his eyes widened. "GingerBrave..."
"GET RID OF THEM!" Affogato Cookie demanded.
"No!"
The guards stopped and looked at the Prince. "Don't you dare take another step."
"Mmmm...I'll give you a little deal. If you become my beloved, then I'll leave your friends alone. If not...then I shall see their crumbs scattered in the Black Citadel."
Dove's anger started to rise then he shot an arrow at the ground, creating a smoke bomb. When he vanished, Affogato Cookie growled and then yelled out, "FIND HIM!"
Out of the Black Citadel, Dark Cacao Cookie breathed heavily while gathering his strength. Choco huffed and collapsed.
"...Mmh." Cacao groaned as he rubbed his head. "Son, you were wonderful... I remembered when you first fought the Wolf, I was so proud of you."
Caramel Arrow Cookie noticed the two cookies then gasped, "Your majesties! You're alright!"
Dove appeared from the horizon and gasped, "Darlings!"
Cacao and Choco stood up and hugged Dove as he came to embrace them. "You two are alright? How did you escape?"
"Let's just say that that Cookie was a hard-headed fellow..."
Dove looked at Caramel Arrow Cookie. "Oh, dear Caramel." Dove said as he put his hand on Caramel's cheek.
"I'm alright, Father Dove... I've seen your message and I have come to your aid. As soon as I saw the Great Wall crumble, I ran as fast as my body allowed to the Citadel. Aside as a scar on your cheek, I'm relieved to see you all are unharmed."
Dove smiled and then looked back at the Citadel.
(Everyone called him Father Dove in the Dark Cacao Kingdom because he always raised them like their were his own children. Which you'll be surprised of how many cookies he adopted.) Tears streamed down his eyes as he looked at the Black Citadel. As the cold wind blew, he remembered from when Choco was just freshly baked, Cacao was teaching him how fight with a sword. Dove will watch under the Shelter of Solitude, drinking lovely dark chocolate milk.
"All the memories... They will vanish because of the Licorice Sea... No...No, I refuse to believe so-"
Dove gasped loudly as he grabbed his head, wincing softly as he was starting to have a headache.
"Father Dove! Don't overexert yourself!"
Dove panted quietly as tears continued streaming down his eyes. Caramel helped Dove up and looked at the Citadel.
"For so long, I've tried to protect my babies from harm. And I just hope I can free the Denizens that are in the grasp of Affogato Cookie."
"Indeed, our kingdom is in chaos. Many of your once-loyal Cookies are free from the grasp of Affogato Cookie, but..."
Dove looked at Caramel Arrow Cookie and gently lifted her chin and asked, "You've remembered the days of old, don't you?"
She shook her head yes and responded, "I remember you two leading the vanguard to protect the Cookies from the monsters of the Great Ridge. The resolve in your eyes has ever remained the same, Your Majesties. I believe that you can restore our kingdom's former glory!"
Dove chuckled as he looks down at his two children as he thought about how he and Cacao were fighting together and never in his life has he ever given up. He could even see it in his children as he softly smiled then he sighed.
"...There's only one way left to protect the kingdom." Cacao nodded in agreement as he thought for himself and then he said, "...I must fix the errors of my past. After all...the responsibility for a son's sins lies upon the shoulders of his father."
Choco looked down as he slowly placed his hand on Cacao's shoulder. "I will amend for my sins, Father. Though I have failed as a son...it's my turn to right my wrongs. I don't want nobody else to get hurt after what happened...because of me."
Dove shook his head no as a soft tear ran down his cheek. "...It wasn't your fault, Choco... You never knew of the dangers of the sword. You were controlled... Controlled by those whispers." Dove held Choco's hand. "...You were lost..."
Cacao shook his head yes in agreement then he just thought of an idea. "...We must get to the Black Citadel right away..."
Dove's eyes widened when he realized what he meant then said, "Follow me."
He then starts running towards the other side of the Black Citadel, opening a secret passageway for them to get into thee Catacombs (I think those were the Catacombs of the Fallen Heroes, but hey, whatcha gonna do?). When the entered, on the stone throne, there was Dark Cacao's sword.
"To think these large halls existed beneath the Citadel... Even after my time here, I had no idea." Caramel exclaimed in awe as they walked into the Catacombs. Dove, approaching the altar, looked at it while holding her children. The twins looked and softly blinked while cooing. Dove smiled sadly as he thought about this altar.
"This is where the spirits of fallen Dark Cacao Warriors are preserved. The warriors who kept these lands safe by any means necessary."
"...The same determination that made me bar the castle gates." Cacao added as they both looked at the Altar. Slowly, the two held hands as a soft tear ran down Dove's cheek. "To make the kingdom into a giant fortress, the last bastion to stop our foes... That was my plan."
"What do you mean?" Choco asked, a bit confused.
"Cacao thought it was the only way to protect our continent and for Pete sake, I told him..." He sighs softly as he rubs his face. "Beyond this Kingdom lies the Licorice Sea, nothing but sharp mountain peaks surround our harsh land."
"You cannot wish for a better battlefield to defend against monsters rising up from the dark waters!"
Dove bonked Cacao's head and shouted, "CACAO!! You know. for the sake of Fortuna, that it would not be possible as you believe those warriors have fought an honorable death! Fighting against the Licorice Sea Monsters, making sure they never step into the greater world... You may say it's honorable but I say that I wished for it to never happened and wished they'd live for a better future!" Tears began to ran down his cheeks as the emotions came pouring in. "I wished those warriors died of a death not by the Licorice Sea but by the honorable battles of the wars maybe! And I would dare not let you be buried here as a sign of you being worthy - You are worthy of such righteousness." Dove placed his hands on Cacao's cheeks as he slowly gave him a kiss on the forehead and then Cacao hugged him lovingly as he looks at the kids and then he looks at his son.
"I know, my love. You have always been good to me, as you have as well, my son. This is why I sent Caramel Arrow Cookie outside the Black Citadel's walls. I knew I could trust her to aid the villagers should the Citadel fall. But I underestimated her fealty. I could not foresee she would stop at nothing to return here and come to our side."
"You know she will never stop at nothing till the King is safe..." Dove said as he softly sniffled. "I didn't believe the rumors for one second about you being such a paragon...of honor. I would rather crumble...than live in dishonor of my husband."
Cacao blushed as he heard such words, turning his head away as he softly smirked. He chuckled as he dipped Dove, leaving a small yelp from Dove's lips. Dove blushed as he looks at Cacao as he whispered close to his ear. "You were always my pillar of strength when it comes to such sweet words, you feisty vixen~"
Dove giggles as he playfully and gently pushed Cacao's head away. "Oh you stop, we're in a crisis and now you're trying to flirt?" He chuckles bashfully as he looks away. "Kids are present here!"
Cacao chuckled playfully as he pulls Dove closer and threw him into his arms. "Don't be so modest, my winged Dove!"
Dove smirked as he looked into his eyes and responded, "What? When we have a Citadel to take back? I beg your pardon!"
Choco blushed as he looked away as Caramel couldn't help but hide her giggle.
As Dove and Cacao looked into each other's eyes, there was the light shining. Peace and Resolution. No other light shines as bright as theirs. Dove then whispered, "There's the Dark Cacao King I remember!"
"And there's the Winged Warrior I adore~..." Cacao responded with a soft chuckle.
"Now..." Dove turns his head towards Cacao's sword and said, "...Someone who is the King and Founder of this Kingdom, should wield the treasure and the mark of a hero; your Soul Jam."
Cacao noticed the sword, hesitate but he slowly looks at Dove and asked, "...Will you...do this with me?"
Dove's eyes widened as he looks at Cacao and then he softly smiled and responded, "Of course."
Holding Cacao's hand, they walked up to where his sword is. Wrapping their hands around it, they looked at each other for confirmation. Choco, the twins, and Caramel watched in anticipation as the couple exchanged glances. Slowly pulling the sword out, instead of Cacao's original clothing, he was now in his armor. Dove closed his eyes and then dark chocolate armor surrounded his body as he holds his sword and his eyes glowed purple as he softly growled.
"The time has come..." Dove said as he looks down at his children then he looks at his husband beside him.
"Let's get our Citadel back."
With a soft crash, they stormed into the throne room and he growled as he glares at Affogato Cookie.
"Well, well, look who it is. My beloved has--" He paused when he noticed Cacao and Choco as well as Caramel Arrow Cookie holding the kids. They had cute little swords which was incredibly adorable! "How...is this possible?"
"It doesn't matter!" Dove snapped. "If the walls fail, this castle is doomed and you will be the cause of this."
"Yeah!" Gingerbrave added as they stormed in here as well. Dove smirked. "It's been a long time, Gingerbrave."
"Same to you, your Majesty!"
Affogato Cookie scoffed. "It was taken care of when Dark Choco Cookie disposed of him!"
"And now he is with us so would you kindly step down from the throne or do we have to force you?!"
"...Do your worst...!"
Dove summons his legendary bow and then starts shooting at the Apostles, dodging their attacks as Dark Cacao and Dark Choco slashed them with their swords. Caramel Arrow Cookie shoots bows while passing the children towards Dove. Kicking one of the soldiers at the face, he does a flip and held Choco Panda and Muddy Cookie while dashing past the soldiers and knocking them out. A soldier was about to do an upper kick until Dove dodged and kicked his legs, and shoot the edge of his outfit to pin him to the wall. He huffed and then glares at the others before knocking them out as well with his family and others. He then slowly glared at Affogato Cookie and snarled. Cacao's eyes glowed bright as he snarled.
"I can't believe this... How can some random Cookies just turn up and defeat me? Have you any idea... what I have gone through to claim this castle? This power, I've gained through my own strength, my own labor! I will never give it up!"
Dove heard the wall crashed then his eyes widened when he noticed the Licorice Monsters starting to invade the kingdom.
"What in the world is that?!" Affogato Cookie asked.
"The monsters who razed the wall are about to get inside the Citadel! They're almost upon us!"
"And it's all your fault!" Cacao voice boomed as the Licorice Monsters came close then Affogato Cookie panicked and ran away.
"He's running away! I'll run after him and take care of him!"
Dove shook his head no towards Caramel Arrow Cookie. "Leave him. We have important matters on hand. Gingerbrave, you tried to find off the monsters as best as you can as we try to find the ones who have sneaked up here!"
Before they could move, Cacao felt a sudden jolt in his soul. He collapsed as he held his sword. Dove quickly went to his side and then he looks at his soul jam and noticed it was tainted by crimson magic. Which could only meant...
"Finally, the time has come. Affogato Cookie has failed his mission. Because of that, I had no choice but to force it into my hand. I had to take care of what he couldn't..." Pomegranate Cookie said with a soft smirk as she hid it with her hand. Dove's eyes widened as he held Cacao's head as he glares at Pomegranate Cookie. "What have you done...?" He whispered quietly. "You will NEVER HAVE HIM. Release him now!" A gust of energy burst from Cacao's sword, sending a wave of the soul jam's strength. It sent everybody flying, including Dove as he held his children in his arms. When he looked back, his eyes widened then tears ran down his cheeks. "Husband! Come back to your senses! BE RELEASED FROM THIS EVIL SORCERY!"
He struggled to get up as he summoned his Bow of Light and shot at him but he dodged. The power of the soul jam slowly turned him into a powerful entity of Berserk. It covered the entire throne room, hearing the Mighty Roar of the King. Dove slowly lowered his bow as he couldn't dare harm his husband. Placing his children down, he slowly breathed in and out as he quietly said to the children, "Stay right here... Everything will be alright..."
As Dove kissed the twins on their foreheads, he slowly turned his head towards Berserk Cacao then he whispers, "...I have to talk some sense...in your father..."
Slowly walking away, the twins watch in worry as Dove continues to approach the Berserk Dark Cacao. As he did, he slowly sang:
영원히 살 수 있기를
영원한 사랑
Always and forever
In this heart of mine
Once the Berserk Cacao heard his voice, he turned his head towards him as soft tears ran down Dove's cheek. His monstrous hand slowly reaches towards Dove as his Berserk form slowly started to vanish, singing;
영원히 살 수 있기를
영원한 사랑
Always and forever in this heart of mine
Dove softly smiled as he kneels down and helps Cacao up, softly holding him tight as he sniffles quietly, singing with Cacao.
Longer than the heavens
And the stars that shine
참을 수 없는 상사병
너와 함께 있고 싶어
I am yours, I am yours forever
Dove placed a soft hand on Cacao's cheek, wiping a soft tear from his as he slowly embraces him. Cacao slowly collapsed in his arms as he stifled a sniffle, feeling Dove caress him comfortingly.
Pomegranate Cookie thought to herself; Dark Cacao Cookie is out of strength! This is our chance! We have to claim his Soul Jam!
As Dove was comforting Cacao, Dark Choco noticed his sword and he murmured, "The sword... commands me... to attack my father...?! No more...! I will be the sword's thrall no longer...!" He then glared at Pomegranate Cookie who was about to attack Dove and Cacao and shouted, "Pomegranate Cookie... That's ENOUGH!"
Dove looked back and gasped as he noticed Pomegranate Cookie, shielding her from Cacao, Choco stepped in and slashed at Pomegranate Cookie, making her stumble across the floor.
"AGH!" She opened her eyes and glares Dark Choco Cookie. "How dare you?! I should have known you would attack..."
"I've understood so long ago...about the times I've struggled to march on.... Despite the path that tormented me more and more with each step.Strength can bring no good if it's born from the suffering of others. I have noticed that this...power...that I've sought for all my life...can never fill this voice in my heart... It can bring only sorrow and suffering spiraling over and over again."
As Dove heard Choco, he softly smiled from the words of Choco, knowing it took a long while for him to realize. Cacao smiled weakly as his song as he breathes heavily, holding onto Dove tightly.
"All this time, I was blinded by this lust of power for it lead me astray... Led me far off the path shown to me by my father whom I once adored so greatly..."
"I take it you do not care if the reports of tonight's events reach Dark Enchantress Cookie? You will profoundly regret your...choice." Pomegranate Cookie exclaimed in malice.
"I do not care... My vision is now clearer now. The Darkness has... lost its grip on my soul. I have no need of this cursed sword anymore." Dove's eyes widened when Dark Choco slowly raised his sword and destroyed the gem. A burst of energy exploded in the Citadel, leaving only red smoke. Dove shook his head he coughed then he notices a figure. "Dark Choco...? He called out but once a large hand appeared on Dove's hand when he reached out for him. His eyes slowly widened as he notices how rough it is. Cacao noticed the figure and his eyes widened when he noticed it was familiar.
"Not Choco...." A head slowly came closer, glaring down at Dove as the red eyes slowly started to glow. Why did he sound a lot like Cacao but...a bit deeper. Why did he look like him but bigger too...?
"I am Dark Strawberry Cookie... Brother of Dark Cacao Cookie and founder of the Dark Strawberry Sword..."
Dove's eyes widened when he looked at his face when the smoke cleared, then he whispered, "Cacao's...brother...?"
