Chapter 1: Prisoner

Chapter Text

“All hail king Dream!”

The festivities at the town square have started, people were flooding the area just to witness the important announcement that Dream had to his people. You were standing on stage with a bow in your hand and a sword attached to your hip. Dream’s most trusted warrior, you beamed at the crowd with pride.

These are your people, the people that you have had the honor of protecting, people that you have seen grow up over the years. These are your citizens just as much as they are Dream’s, citizens that you would do almost anything for.

“He’s coming!” The crowd calls out.

You watch as the crowd cheers, watching as the man walks out from the curtains. He is wearing his signature mask, no one but you knows what he really looks like, a green cape is attached to his back, coming around and clipping in the front of his neck, flowing behind him as he walks.

He wears no crown, he always rejected the idea of wearing a crown, he said he wanted to be seen as a normal man. Though, he is a king, so he wouldn’t be seen as a normal man no matter how hard he tries. He stands in the middle of the stage, tapping on the mic a few times to make sure it works. He clears his voice and greets the crowd.

“Welcome my loyal citizens.” The crowd cheers as you look around, seeing familiar faces mixed in with the crowd, including Tommy, looking at Dream with disgust.

“I have a great announcement to make!” Dream sweeps his arm across the crowd, you could feel the smile that was forming behind his mask. It makes you furrow your eyebrows, what announcement does Dream have that is making him so excited?

You hear the sound of shackles being dragged across the stage first before you see him, your eyes widen as he makes eye contact with you, tears welled up in them. His black wings were torn up, a large cut in the middle of his left wing, your eyes looked on in horror as the guard forced him to shuffle his way beside Dream.

“We have captured the king of the Antarctic Empire!” Dream boasts as the crowd cheers.

You look back at Tommy, who was looking on with pure hatred, his hands balled into fists as he watched Dream. You look frantically back at Dream, who is forcing Phil’s wings out to show the crowd. Phil winces in pain as the crowd looks on, ooo’s and ahh’s coming from their mouths.

You knew what this meant, Dream has started a war that he surely couldn't finish, and would expect you to help him. Even though he captured Tommy’s father and your father figure, he expects you to be committed to his side no matter the cost.

“Bring on the war!” Dream shouts, making you realize that he wasn’t the same Dream he used to be, the one that was kind and thoughtful when you two were kids.

The one who promised to never hurt you, the one who fought to protect you all of these years, was now ripping your heart right out of your chest.

Eventually, they take Phil back behind the curtains and the citizens start pouring back into their homes, leaving you, Dream and Tommy, You look at the man, dumbfounded, not expecting this to be the big announcement he was talking about for the last week and a half.

You quickly walk over to him and grab him by his arm, trying to get him to look at you through his mask, but he avoids even looking in your direction.

“You said you wouldn’t touch him!” You scream, tears of anger starting to make their way down your cheek. You are usually calm and collected, but this is about someone you care deeply for, and you weren’t going to let this man get away with what he’s done, even if you were in love with him. At least, you were in love with the old him.

“I did what had to be done.” He rips his arm away from you and lifts up his mask, looking into your eyes, no hint of remorse laid deep within them.

His eyes were emotionless, unlike the eyes full of warmth you fell in love with, now they just stared at you with a coldness that made you shiver.

You see Tommy approaching Dream from behind, slowly unsheathing his sword. You step in between them, making sure Tommy didn’t do anything that he would regret the rest of his life, trying to kill the king would suffer harsh consequences that Tommy wouldn’t be able to handle.

“You’ve stuck with me through everything, I know you can’t leave me now.” His mask is back on, as he lets out an almost evil-like laugh, and in a way he is right. You would have nowhere to go, nowhere for you to live.

The Antarctic Empire wouldn’t take so kindly as to take in a person who has killed so many of their own people, You would be trying to survive in the wild alone and with Tommy nevertheless, he wouldn’t be able to stay here. You will have to stay under Dream’s kingdom, and he knew that.

“You’re a bitch!” Tommy yells at Dream, making Dream chuckle to himself as he turns and walks away, but not before turning back at you and saying.

“You better get prepared, there’s going to be a war soon!”

You watch as he walks away, fire in your eyes, knowing there’s nothing you could do, you’d be fighting beside him, and will probably be dying beside him as well. You turn back to Tommy who has his hands balled into fists, shaking with rage as he stares daggers into Dream’s back.

“Tommy, I need you to do something for me.”

You gently grab him by the shoulders and look him in the eyes, he slowly slides his over to meet yours. You can see the tears that threaten to escape them, his eyes glossy and red, his skin hot to the touch with anger.

“You need to escape, get to the Antarctic Empire, you’ll be safer there.”

You knew he would protest, You knew he would refuse and would want to stick by your side. However, this was the best option for him, he wouldn’t be safe staying here with Dream. He will end up getting himself killed if he fights this war on Dream’s side, all you want is for him to be safe.

“What the hell? No, I won’t do that!”

He pulls himself away from you, looking at you with shock in his eyes. Surprised you would even recommend the fact that he should leave you behind, you were all he had when his family abandoned him to go live in the Antarctic Empire, and he felt as if he was abandoning you in the same way.

“It’s the only way to keep you safe, Tommy.”

You plead with him, your eyes starting to gloss over with tears as well as you look at him. You can’t leave this place, but he can, the Blood God would welcome him with open arms, he’s family after all.

“What about Phil? What about… What about you?”

Tears start flowing down both of your cheeks, you look at Tommy with pleading eyes, wishing he wasn’t so goddamned stubborn and would just leave. You knew you probably wouldn’t make it out alive, you’d be dying right beside Dream, fighting for a cause you didn’t even believe in, fighting with your newly sworn enemy who used to make you melt with his every touch.

You knew Phil probably wouldn’t make it out alive either, both of you were doomed. But, Tommy didn’t need to know that, you needed to make sure he actually left this damned place. So, you did the only thing that would get him to leave, you lied.

“I’ll get Phil out of here, we will see you again soon, but I need to make sure you’re safe first.”

You pull Tommy into your arms for one last time, knowing that the chance of seeing him again were slim to none. You tried to stay strong, holding in the tears that threatened to stain his shirt as he clutched onto you tightly.

You were happy to get the opportunity to raise him for so many years, but broken at the fact you won’t get to see him grow into the man he was always meant to be.

“I love you.” You say in almost a whisper as you both pull away from each other. Tommy gives a nod of his head and goes to collect his things, the Antarctic Empire isn’t too far away from here and he should be just fine walking. As long as Dream doesn’t notice him exiting the kingdom, but you are sure you can make a good enough distraction to give Tommy plenty of time.

You walk into the castle, seeing Sam standing guard at the door of Dream’s office, he must’ve shut himself away again. You walk to the door, your boots clicking against the cobblestone floor of the castle. Before you reach the door; however, Sam grabs ahold of your arm and stops you in your tracks.

“I suggest you don’t go in there, y/n, he hasn’t been himself lately.”

Sam looks down at you through his creeper mask, he was always one of the more gentler guards. But, maybe he was more gentle with you since he was your big brother, after all.

“Yeah, I’ve noticed.” You roll your eyes and start briskly walking away from where Sam stood. At least you won’t have to worry about a distraction, once Dream shuts himself away it’s usually for a few days.

Now, the only thing you have to figure out is a way to rescue Phil, preferably without getting either of you killed. Even though, deep inside, you knew that you probably wouldn’t make it out of this kingdom alive.

Chapter 2: Runaway

Chapter Text

It’s a day after the entire disaster that was Dream’s announcement at the town square, he is still locked up in his office and Tommy has probably reached the Antarctic Empire by now. As for you, you’re laying in your bed, eyes still watering from the breakdown of tears you had last night.

Unmotivated to get out of bed, why would you want to after all?

Your life as you knew it was crashing before your eyes, and there was nothing you could do about it.

You hear a light knock at your door, scaring you as you jump up and try to make yourself look presentable.

“I’m coming!” You yell at the person at your door, hoping that they don’t just make their way into your home. You really aren’t in the mood to be questioned right now, and the people here don’t know boundaries.

You eventually throw on some decent looking clothes,a pair of jeans and a shirt, and make your way to the door. You were a little surprised to see Sam on the other side of the door, holding a pie in his hands. His eyes look down at you with concern as he sets the pie gently in your hands.

“For you and Tommy.”

Before you  can say anything else, he makes his way into your home, sitting on the couch and setting his feet up on your coffee table.

You take the pie and set it on the kitchen counter, looking at the back of Sam’s head when he asks the question you were hoping he wouldn’t ask.

“Where’s the little man?” He picks up an apple from a bowl on the coffee table and takes a bite from it.

“Uh, he’s out for a walk right now.” You don’t trust Sam enough to tell him where Tommy really is, you don’t want Dream to know that Tommy is gone just yet, you still need some time to prepare for the pain you will face once he figures it out.

“You’re lying.” He sets the apple back down and looks at you, smirking as he takes off the creeper mask that covers most of his face. His green eyes looking back at you as he lifts one of his eyebrows in amusement.

“What do you mean?” Your voice comes out shaky, you were never good at hiding your distress. The wind knocked out of you at his statement, you feel weak in the knees.

Did he find Tommy?

Is Tommy rotting in one of the prison cells right now?

“I saw Tommy walking through the Shared Forest while I was out for my hunt.” He stands up from the couch and starts walking towards you. His diamond sword attached to his side, you wonder if Tommy’s blood is stained on it. The thought makes your eyes water.

But, Sam did something unexpected, he pulled you into a hug as your eyes started releasing the tears you’ve been holding back since he walked in.

Did he turn Tommy over and is now comforting you because they killed him?

The thought makes you push Sam away, glaring into his emerald green eyes.

“What did you do to him?” You sniffle, wiping your nose with the end of your t-shirt.

“I didn’t do anything, I gave him some supplies and let him on his way, I wouldn’t do that to you.” He pulls you back into a hug, running his fingers through your hair as you breathe a sigh of relief.

Sam has always acted his duty as the older, protective brother, he’s around ten years older than you and has helped you become the warrior you are now. He understands; however, that the strongest warriors have their weak moments sometimes.

“He’ll be okay.” He sets his chin on your head and gives your hair one last ruffle before breaking the hug, part of his shirt wet from your tears.

“Sorry.” You say in barely a whisper, he just nods his head and goes to pick his mask back up from the coffee table. Throwing away the apple he took in the process and making his way back to the door.

“I’ll be seeing you later tonight, we have training,” he opens the door and makes his way out before you can answer. You stand dumbfounded in your kitchen, your heart just finally recovering from the fear that Tommy might be dead somewhere in the kingdom

. At least you know now he is safe, you can finally take some time to relax before the war.The war that hasn’t even been declared yet, but you know it looms over you all, the Blood God will be coming for revenge, and you will be right in the middle of the fight.

You decide to take some time before training to unwind, you draw yourself a hot bubble bath and lay in it for as long as you possibly have the time for. Stepping out only when you realize you have half an hour to get ready, hurrying to scramble on your leggings and shirt, sheathing your diamond sword to your side and picking up your bow.

You just barely managed to get everything together when Sam knocks on the door yet again.

“You ready?” He asks as you fling open the door, hurriedly putting your shoes on before stepping out and slamming the door behind you. Sam slightly jumps at the sudden noise. You turn to him and laugh at his scared expression, but your happiness is quickly replaced by the reminder that you are going to train, training to fight in a war that you won’t even win.

Honestly, you didn’t even want to win anyway, while you still cared about your kingdom, you’d have to see winning against Tommy.

Tommy’s blood would be on your own hands if Dream’s Empire won this war.

You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t even notice Dream standing at the entrance of the training room door in the castle, his arms folded as he leaned against the doorway, observing you and Sam, who was able to hide his expression behind his creeper mask.

You, on the other hand, struggled with not showing the burning hatred for the man through your eyes.

“Look at that, my favorite soldiers.” Dream comes over and pulls you and Sam into an awkward group hug, patting you awkwardly on the back before pulling away.

“Just making sure you guys show up, I’ll get out of your hair!” He waves his hand and walks away. You knew exactly what he meant, if you didn’t show up, he would’ve been after you both. It’s happened before with an old guard who didn’t show up to training once, he disappeared, never to be heard of again.

You scoff at the fact that you used to be under Dream’s every beck and call, not questioning any of his decisions. Now, since he imprisoned the one man you told him not to, you realize that he truly doesn’t care about anyone.

But you secretly hope that’s not the case.

Admittedly, you were just as bad as he was by association, Tommy always told you that there was something off about him, that he wasn’t the Dream that he was when you two were teenagers, but you obviously didn’t listen until it was too late.

There’s still a little part of you that wants to trust that he still loves you, that he hasn’t shut off all of his emotions and acted like you two were never in love at one time.

“Come on silly, no time to get lost in thought now.” Sam grabs you gently by the arm and leads you into the training room, on the walls were several rows of iron swords and armor. New bows also line the walls while there are human targets to your right. You decide to use your own bow to aim at the targets, you didn’t feel comfortable using bows that you weren’t accustomed to.

“You know, Dream got a letter from the prince of the Antarctic Empire.”

Sam speaks to you as you pull out your bow.

“Oh, really?” You try to sound as uninterested as you could, you didn’t want him to know that you were curious about what the Antarctic Empire said to Dream.

“The Antarctic Prince isn’t happy, he declared war.” Sam takes a deep breath and starts sharpening one of the iron swords that were hanging on the wall.

You knew this was going to happen, that’s why you made Tommy leave when he could. But, you still couldn’t stop your stomach tying in knots at the words.

“He declared war,”

it is done, the kingdom is going to war, the blood of your people will be splattered across the Shared Forest. I mean, there’s no possible way for Dream’s kingdom to win, but you silently hoped his kingdom would lose anyway. The Blood God may be ruthless, but at least he would keep Tommy safe, plus, Dream deserved his karma. And in a way, so did you.

“Shit.” Is all you could reply with, an eerie silence falls over the both of you as you think about the fact you will have to go back out into the battlefield.

Never again did you think you’d have to watch your friends die by your side. You’re angry at Dream, for willingly risking his entire kingdom, his friends, the people who have stuck by his side through all of it, just to feed his fragile ego.

“Well, let’s get to work.” Sam tries to lighten the mood and picks up his own iron sword, handing one to you as he smirks.

“Let’s spar!”

You spend the rest of the evening sparring with Sam, blocking his blows and laughing when you end up kicking his feet out from under him. You both lay there for a minute, trying to catch your breath when you hear the sounds of boots walking across the training floor.

“What’s up, idiots”

You sit up to look at the man approaching you, laughing when you realize who it was.

“Skeppy, you here to spar with us?” You question him, giggling as he takes one of the iron swords from the walls and pretends to stab someone with it.

“Haha, no, you know I only spar with…” His voice trails off as he frowns and puts the sword back on the wall, rubbing his neck.

“I was just telling you guys that Dream has requested your presence.” He bows and turns around, walking out of the training room without looking back, you think you hear a little sniffle before he leaves.

“Well,” Sam sighs, and stands up, holding out his hand for you to grab ahold of.

“Guess we better get going.” You grab his hand and he pulls you up, dusting off his clothes that have traces of dust on them.

He leads you out the training door, standing on the cobblestone hallways of the castle. Nervously making your way towards Dream’s office, hoping he doesn’t go too insane on you two today.

Chapter Text

You slowly open the door to Dream’s office, he’s sitting in his chair, his feet propped up on his desk as he sips from a glass of water. His mask is set on the desk in front of him, his freckled face staring at the both of you with amusement.

“Nice of you to swing by,” he smirks. Setting his glass of water down and standing up, picking up his mask and attaching it back to his face.

“I need you two to go to the Shared Forest.” He explains, pacing around the room slowly.

“We have gotten some… rumors about spies from the Antarctic Empire in the Shared Forest-

and I think it would be a good idea for you two to go and… Show them how we roll” He demonstrates what he means by pretending to cut his own head off with a sword.

“Yessir,” Sam bows, not questioning Dream’s commands. It bothers you a little bit, after everything Dream just did to you and Tommy, he still comes to his every call.

“Miss?” Dream questions.

“Yessir,” you say, lazily bowing as your face turns into a small frown.

He knows the Antarctic Empire is cruel like no other, and he’s sending his two best warriors out there to practically be killed by them. He knows The Blood God would only send his best and most heartless men out to spy on Dream’s empire, in case anything went awry.

“There’s been reports of three of them, three that you’ve probably met in battle before.” He chuckles and flips over some papers on his desk.

“I want at least one of them back here alive.”

Your breath hitches in your throat, having to kill them is going to be a great feat, but being able to capture one and bring them back alive? It seems as if Dream is sending you on a death mission.

“I want that stupid pig back here alive.”

Dream laughs and sets his mask back on his face and sheaths his sword that was sitting on his desk.

“Guess you guys better get to work!” He shouts and walks out the office door, slamming it behind him. We listen quietly until his loud, commanding footsteps are nothing but a memory.

“We need to pack some supplies, and pray.” Sam sighs.

“You’re actually going to listen to him? It’s a deathwish!”

Sam tries to grab your arm as you storm out of the office. You know in your head that you have to do this, Dream has Phil and if you don’t listen to him, there’s a possibility you will never see Phil alive again.

You make a beeline out of the castle and towards the little place you call home, tears welling up in your eyes as the feeling of impending doom comes upon you.

You used to be so happy, Dream used to be the man you always dreamed of, but now you stand alone in your little house, heading towards your own demise.

Your door creaks open as Sam enters, his boots hitting against your wooden floor. You’re packing the necessities with tears in your eyes, silently saying your permanent goodbyes to Tommy and Phil because you’re sure neither of you are going to make it out alive.

“You ready to go?” Sam lightly touches your shoulder and turns you around to face him.

“We will be okay, let’s just do what he says so Phil doesn’t get punished for it.”

You nod your head and take Sam’s hand as he pulls you up, grabbing your bag for you. He sets his hand on the small of your back and lightly starts pushing you towards the door, your eyes still puffy and red from the crying.

___________________________________________________________________

You make it to the outskirts of the kingdom before taking a break, your nerves twisting in your stomach as you look towards the Shared Forest. Hoots of owls and the howling of wolves can be heard in the distance.

But, wolves aren’t the enemies that are making you nervous, it’s the gentle rustlings of the Antarctic Empire’s spies that are making you feel uneasy.

“We must get moving soon, I can hear them getting closer.” Sam whispers to you as he stands up and brushes off the dirt that accumulated on his pants.

You walk through the forest with Sam by your side, both of your swords unsheathed and thirsty for blood. The soft, quick footsteps of the spies can be heard surrounding you. They must have brought more than you thought.

“There’s at least eight of them.” You can hear Sa,’s voice quiver as he reiterates to you how many are out there. He is scared, and before you have the time to be scared, Sam is swept back from behind you. A loud thud fills the quiet air and a sword is on Sam’s throat.

“Tsk. Tsk, Tsk. Dream really screwed y’all, huh?” His red eyes meet yours as you start shaking, you are outnumbered. And while you know you could probably take down most of these spies single-handedly, you would be a fool to think you would be able to take down The Blood God himself.

The Blood God smiles, showing off the tusks that are usually just barely poking out from his bottom lip. He tilts his head as he shoves his sword deeper into Sam’s throat.

“Please! Please don’t hurt him, he’s all I have!” You look at the pig and wonder how he can be so heartless and cruel.

It’s not your fault you were forced on this mission, it’s not your fault that his father was captured and tortured. Phil was like a father to you too! But here the pig is, holding a sword to the throat of the only person you have left.

And there’s nothing you could do about it, and you’ve never felt so weak.

Chapter Text

“Please, just let him go.” Tears start to well in your eyes as you beg the Blood God for Sam’s life.

“He was going to kill Phil if we didn’t do this, please.” You watch the Blood God’s eyes open in surprise.  You knew that was your key to living, Tommy told you all about his brother and how close he was to Phil.

“You know Phil?” His voice has a hint of emotion behind it, but his expression remains emotionless as he stares at you awaiting your reply.

“Y-Yeah of course I know Phil, everyone knows him.”

The Blood God sighs and after a moment, he takes the sword from Sam’s neck and pushes him on the ground, turning away from your curious eyes.

“Take her.” He speaks to his spies as they start to come furiously towards you. You take a deep breath and prepare yourself for a fight as the Blood God holds down Sam, who is furiously trying his best to escape from his grasp.

You analyze your competition, sheathing your sword by your side and bringing out your trusty bow, Steve.

The spies still approach you steadily, surrounding you and trying to enclose you into a tight circle.

You form your lips into a tight smile as you pull up your bow, aiming at the first spy and letting your sharp arrow fly through the air.

It hits the spy in the chest and they fall to the ground. You quickly turn and pull your bow up to shoot again, but before you could, you felt something sharp going into your neck.

_____________________________________________________________

You wake up on a cold stone floor, pain filling your head as you come to the realization of what just happened to you. You gasp and feel a hand press delicately against your forehead.

“You might have a fever for a while, they really need to find better ways to sedate people.”

You look up to see a tall ender-like creature towering over you, his green and red eyes looking at you with curiosity as he stands up and reaches out his hand to you.

“I’m Ranboo! I apologize that we are meeting over such circumstances.”

You look at the creature’s outstretched hand with confusion and roll your eyes.

“Where is Sam?” You say as you slap Ranboo’s hand away, he recoils in pain and looks at you with pitying eyes.

“I’m sorry, I-I’m not sure who that is.” The creature stutters a bit and rubs his forehead.

“To be honest, I don’t remember a lot.” He chuckles and puts his hands in his suit pockets.

“Where am I?” You ask, getting straight to the point. It’s obvious to you that Ranboo is young, and you aren’t really sure why The Blood God would send someone as innocent-looking and shy as him into a cell with one of Dream’s most feared warriors.

“Ranboo, you need to leave.” The bellowing voice of The Blood God rings out as Ranboo turns around to face him.

“Of course Techno, bye madam.”

Ranboo steps aside as The Blood God enters the cell. He leaves the cell without looking back, a big goofy smile on his face as he almost hits his head on the top of your cell door.

“Where’s Sam?” You get the courage to ask the pig, but he just looks at you with his menacing red eyes. He grunts and walks to the corner of the room, facing his back against the wall and folding his arms.

“How do you know Phil?” He asks.

“It doesn’t matter, you just got him killed by bringing me here!” You scream, you knew that you couldn’t leave Dream’s kingdom with Tommy without signing Phil and Sam’s death sentence.

“How do you know him?” The Blood God asks again, just as calm this time. His red eyes connect with yours, daring you to talk back to him again.

“Tommy introduced me to him. I know the Antarctic Empire and Dream’s Empire are enemies, but I couldn’t hate Tommy’s own father just because I was on the opposite side.”

You bring your knees up to your chest, breathing in and out slowly as that is what Phil taught you to do whenever you were feeling anxious.

“I didn’t know Phil was visiting the tyrants of Dream’s Kingdom.” The Blood God shakes his head, making his braided pink hair move along with it. He turns and walks out the cell door, shutting and locking it behind him.

You listen as his steps fade away, leaning your back against the hard wall. You don’t even know where Sam is and all you can hope is that he is safe.

A lump starts to well in your throat as you think about what your life used to be, you are the strongest warrior of all of Dream’s kingdom. Yet, you can barely hold back the tears that are threatening to streak your face yet again.

______________________________________________________________

It was a warm summer night, you were sitting in your living room cozying up with a movie while Tommy slept in the next room. You have training in the morning with Dream and your skills are improving everyday.

You listen as you hear a light knock at the door, a smile creeps on your face as you scurry over and open it. Dream stands in your doorway with a crooked smile and his mask being held lightly in his hand.

“Hey beautiful, may I come in?” He grabs your hand as you lead him into your living room. Smiles painted on both of your faces as you both sit on the couch.

This is the only time you get to spend together since Dream is busy running a kingdom and you are busy with your training.

“Thi is a nice night.” Dream says as he holds your hand delicately in his. His eyes glued onto yours as you watched each other with love.

If only you knew that his eyes showed no emotion, they were cold and hard. But, you saw the warmth in them, I mean, You loved him, every one of his flaws was justified by you as just being one of his cute quirks.

You guys cuddled up on your couch, listening to the light sounds of crickets outside and breathing in the summer air.

You spent the night watching movies and eating popcorn, eventually falling asleep in each other’s arms.

But nights like those ended very quickly, and eventually the love of your life turned into the very monster you are now afraid of.

Chapter Text

“Good morning, miss.” The light voice of Ranboo rang out into your cell, the smell of oatmeal lingered in your nose.

“I hope it’s okay, this is all I could get for you since, you know, you’re a prisoner and everything.”

The boy chuckles and stands awkwardly beside your bed as you take time to wake up. His tail swishes back and forth as he holds the hot bowl of oatmeal in his hands.

“Why did they bring me here?” You try to ask the monochrome creature, but he just stares at you blankly.

“I wouldn’t know, they don’t tell me anything around here.” He ruffles his hair and sits beside you on the bed.

You consider breaking his arm and forcing him to let you out of here, but you can tell he’s a child, and you don’t hurt children. Even if you are a little tempted to at times. You may not want to physically hurt him, but you might be able to manipulate him into letting you escape.

“I’m just worried about Phil, I don’t know what Dream will do to him now that I am gone.” You sigh and look into the green and red eyes of Ranboo, who looks back at you with sadness. His pointy ears droop and he looks away from you for a split second.

“Techno will save Phil.” He whispers to himself as he looks at you again.

“He wouldn’t ever let Phil die, especially by the hands of someone as vile as Dream.”

You open your mouth to defend the person that you loved so much. But shut it quickly, knowing that you can’t really defend him, not after everything he just did.

In a way; however, you still feel bitter over the fact that the Antarctic Empire always judged Dream as a ruthless person who showed no love to anybody. They don’t understand the love you used to have for each other and how caring he used to be. You can’t argue though, they would make fun of you for still holding onto the hope that Dream is the old Dream he used to be.

“Here, eat up, it’s the best I could get you.” Ranboo holds out the warm bowl of oatmeal to you and you eat it reluctantly. Worried that if you don’t eat it, you might make him cry.

You laugh internally to yourself about how you’re worried about hurting this creature’s feelings, but he reminds you of Tommy in a way.

Oh my god, Tommy.

“Uh, Ranboo, do you know if a boy named Tommy arrived here in the last few days?”

You hear the clank of your prison cell-door opening and boots hitting against the stone floor. You don’t even have to look to know who it is, his intimidating presence can be felt throughout the room.

You tense, but you notice that Ranboo relaxes and his ears perk up again. Maybe Ranboo is more loyal to The Blood God than you thought.

“Ranboo.” The Blood God says the creature's name and he stands up from your bed and exits the cell, leaving you alone with the pig.

“Tell me what you know about Dream.” He speaks in a flat, monotone voice.

“So you kidnap and imprison me and expect me to spill all my secrets to you?” You question him, while Dream isn’t exactly on your nice list right now. You will always be loyal to your kingdom, you are not a traitor.

The pig grunts and stares at you with his glowing red eyes, you can barely read the scowl that comes across his face due to the skull mask that covers the upper half of his face.

“Let’s see how loyal your kingdom is to you.” He says in his flat tone of voice as he again walks out of your prison cell. Your head fills with questions as you try to connect the dots.

Is he putting you up for ransom?

Is he going to kill you if Dream doesn’t give him money?

But, before you could question his monotone sentence any more, your head starts feeling cloudy.

_________________________________________________________

You wake up in a dimly-lit room, hearing the beeping of a camera in front of your face. Your hands are tied behind your back and you frustratingly pull on the knots that are keeping your hands bound.

However, before you could start to untie them, a tall woman walks into the room. She is also a pigman, except she has dark brown eyes, dark brown hair, and her ears are the same. Long tusks sticking out from her bottom lip, her tusks were longer than the Blood God’s. She had an olive skin complexion and she wore casual skinny jeans and a t-shirt. In her hand, was a clipboard and she wore a wicked smile on her face.

“Let’s get this started, shall we?” She asks in a mocking tone as she walks towards you. Punching you in the stomach when she got close, you doubled over in pain as you were not expecting such violence so soon.

“Nice to meet you too.” You croak out as you make eye contact with the pig-woman, you refuse to let yourself be intimidated by a woman who had to tie you up in order to hurt you.

“How about you untie me and fight me like a real woman you coward.” You scream at the woman, still slowly messing with the knots that are tying you to the chair.

“Just shut up and look at the camera.” The pig woman grabs you by the hair and faces you directly into the camera.

“Give us Phil, or your precious little soldier is dead!” The pig-woman looks wickedly into the camera and places a sword across your throat, making sure to nick your neck a little bit in order to draw blood. You guess it’s so she looks more threatening. She chuckles and punches you in the face before she runs to turn the camera off.

You finish untying the lousy knots that tied you to the chair, maybe the people here should learn how to tie proper knots. You walk up to the woman who is distracted by the camera. She may be taller and in-human, but you have taken down enemies far worse than her.

You stalk over to her and take out her legs by swiping yours under her, making her fall heavily to the ground. Before she knows it, you are on top of her, swinging with all of your might to make sure she can’t get back up when you go to escape. You grab the sword from her sheath and raise it above your head.

But before you could swing, you could feel the pressure of someone holding onto the other end of the sword, making you unable to bring it down on the pig-woman.

Chapter Text

You turn around to see what is keeping you from killing the pig-woman who assaulted you moments before. You are shocked when you see the Blood God’s furious eyes staring back at you through his bone mask. His lips turned into a scowl as he looked down at you.

“What do you think you’re doing, little one?” He speaks in a monotone, yet furious voice and you can’t help but laugh nervously.

“What did you expect me to do, not try to break free?” You say with a bitterness in your voice. You try to pull the sword out from his grasp, but it doesn’t move at all.

He just looks down at you with annoyance and boredom in his eyes. You eventually hear the shuffling of the woman getting back up, making sure to elbow you as she stands up.

“I see I underestimated you, human.” She says as she walks out, leaving you alone with The Blood God, who is still holding onto the sword you have above your head.

“You know, Dream won’t bargain with you, you signed Phil’s death wish when you brought me back here.” You tried to plead with The Blood God, a little nervous that he was going to just kill you here on the spot.

“Hmph.” He grunts and rips your hands from the sword, taking it and placing it across the room, walking back over to you as you stand up meekly.

One thing about being a good warrior is knowing not to provoke someone into killing you out of rage.

“I apologize for my general’s… almost harsh way of doing things,” he throws on a lopsided smile and explains with his hands.

“But, you are a valued member of Dream’s kingdom, and we need you in order to get Phil back.”

You roll your eyes at the fact everyone here thinks you’re the key to defeating Dream and getting their king back.

If only they knew how loyal Dream is to his throne, he would never give up his power just to get one of his soldiers back, he’d just train a new one and be on his way.

“Where’s Tommy?” You find the courage to ask the pigman. He sucks in a sharp breath, like he knows that Tommy and you know each other.

“He’s safe.” He says, running his hand nervously through his long, pink hair, preparing himself for the question that you will inevitably ask.

“Can I see him?” You are standing up now with a smile on your face and hope in your eyes. Tommy is alive and safe, at least all of this wasn’t for nothing, at least you will have someone to carry on your memory in case you die at the hands of the Antarctic Empire.

“I appreciate you taking care of him all of this time but…” The Blood God pauses and looks at you, his expression is unable to be read.

“You are still not to be trusted, and I won’t let you manipulate him into turning against his own family.”

Your heart drops to your stomach as the words flow out of his mouth, how dare him say he is Tommy’s family. He wasn’t the one who took care of him all of these years when he decided to stay in Dream’s kingdom in order to stay with his best friend Tubbo.

“I am his family! I took him in when you guys left, he’s like a son to me!” You beg.

The Blood God sighs and walks out the door, slamming the door behind him. You pound on it, waiting for someone to walk back into the door but no one comes.

Your last memory before you fall asleep is you sliding against the wall with tears threatening to come out of your eyes.

You might never get to say goodbye to Tommy again, he probably doesn’t even know you are here. That’s when you decide to make a pact with yourself, no matter how difficult, if you go down, you will take The Blood God down with you.

While it is an almost impossible task, you believe that your willpower will drive you to make it happen. The Antarctic Empire is just full of citizens who want to survive, just like Dream’s, but The Blood God is obviously a blood-thirsty beast who will end up killing you before you get to see the light of day again.

You must admit, you are also bitter that he refuses to let you see Tommy, how dare he call himself Tommy’s family when he wasn’t there for him when Tommy needed him most.

No matter what happens, you will make sure The Blood God pays for what he’s done to you and your family.

____________________________________________________________

You awake in a cold sweat, still in the room from the night before. You laugh at the fact no one came to check on you, you could just sneak quietly out of the room like a cat since the room is dark and the commotion of the day has died down.

The only sound that fills your ears is your breath and the light buzzing of some kind of machine in the dark room. Maybe this could be your chance to escape.

You press your hand around the cool metal of the door knob, twisting it to test if it was locked. To your surprise, it was unlocked and you swing it open, something in your gut telling you it’s all a trap and someone is going to slit your throat from the shadows.

You choose to step out into the dark hallway anyway, turning right, hoping that they possibly were too dumb to realzie that the door was unlocked.

“What are you doing little one?” A strong, monotone voice rings out from behind you. You freeze in your steps as you realize who the voice belongs to, letting out a groan and you roll your eyes as you face him. Tired of cowering in his presence.

_”Trying to leave this hell-hole, what do you think?” You sneer at the pig-man, only able to make out his tall silhouette towering over you.

The Blood God lets out a slight chuckle and inches closer to you, which makes you instinctively step back.

“You seriously want to go back there?” He questions you, like he knows how Dream really treats you.

“Tommy told me how he treated you two..” He lets his voice trail off and your breath hitches, Tommy told The Blood God about how Dream treated you two. While you’re sure there were good intentions behind it, Tommy doesn’t understand that he just betrayed you and your kingdom.

The way Dream treats you is none of The Blood God’s business, he doesn’t understand that Dream is just stressed out with having to be the king of a whole kingdom. He can’t handle the stress like The Blood God can, and while he fucked up kidnapping Phil, you know that deep inside, the Dream you once knew and loved is still in there.

“You don’t know anything.” You whisper harshly to the pig-man, trying to stare into his eyes fiercely even though you can’t even see them in the darkness of the night.

“Tommy is just a kid, he doesn’t understand how much Dream has helped us throughout the years, he’s just misunderstood.” You regret the words as soon as you say them, you’re defending the man who kidnapped and tortured Tommy’s own father, and here you are defending him.

Still thinking and hoping that this is all a big misunderstanding and that Dream will hold you in his arms the way he used to. That one day he will apologize and everything will go back to normal and you three will all be one big happy family.

The Blood God lets out an annoyed grunt and grabs ahold of your wrist lightly, like he’s afraid you might shatter if he grabs hold of you too hard. You try to rip his hand from your wrist but he squeezes it a little harder as a warning.

“I will not hurt you, please, come with me.”

So here you are, walking down the dark hallway while The Blood God grips on your wrist. Leading you to your death possibly? Who really knows, but it’s too late to turn back now, and soon he is standing in front of a door, turning the knob, and opening it. Gesturing for you to walk inside.

You walk inside the room, which is lit brightly, a table with four chairs surrounding it sit in the middle of the room. The walls are painted yellow and there are plants hanging from the ceiling, an artificial breeze blows throughout the room.

You hear The Blood God’s boots walk in from behind you as you examine the room closely, looking for any secret weapons that might take you out. Maybe this is a torture chambered disguised as a relaxing room so they can catch the prisoner off-guard.

“Please, sit in one of those chairs.” The Blood God says, still sounding annoyed and bored with your presence.

You listen to him and slowly walk over to sit in one of the chairs, The Blood God nods his head and walks out of the room, shutting and locking the door behind him. Leaving you clueless as to why he took you out of one room just to bring you to another room to sit in a hard chair.

You sit and wait for what feels like hours, picking at your fingernails as you cross your legs over and over again. Soon enough, the door opens and a blonde-haired boy walks in, followed by the large shadow of The Blood God.

“Tommy?” You whisper as tears start to fill your eyes.

Chapter Text

You waste no time to rush over to your son? Brother? You don’t really know how to explain the relationship with Tommy but all you know is that he is your family, even if it’s not by blood. Even if The Blood God doesn’t want you to see him anymore.

“You’re alive, you’re okay.” You cry as you wrap your arms around him, kissing the top of his head as tears flow from your eyes.

You lock onto The Blood God standing in the doorway, his posture still stiff and intimidating as he watches you embrace Tommy, a scowl on his face.

“What are you looking at, pig?” You can’t help but spit your bitter words his way, anger rising in your throat, he tried to keep Tommy away from you, and you aren’t sure if you could ever forgive him for that.

“Don’t insult him.” Tommy pulls away from your embrace and looks at you, tears still clinging to his eyes.

“He took me in, he’s on our side, he’s my brother, he cares about me.” Tommy went on, explaining how he’s his family and if you hate The Blood God then you essentially hate Tommy too. You don’t know who taught him to be emotionally manipulative like that, but you sigh and rub your temples.

“Him and his goons kidnapped me, Tommy and did something to my brother. I don’t want to be here.”

The pig-man grunts his disapproval and he motions for Tommy to come stand beside him, Tommy follows.

“Technoblade can protect us-”

“I never said I wanted to protect her-”

Tommy looks at The Blood God, mouthing for him to keep quiet.

“He did something to Sam, he hurt my family and is obviously trying to turn you against me!-”

“He took me away from my home, I don’t belong here, I belong in Dream’s Empire.”

You regret the words as soon as you say them, Tommy’s face falls and he looks at the floor.

“Why are you still so eager to go back to Dream? He hurt me! He hurt Phil! And you’re standing here wishing you could go back to him.”

You see the tears starting to flow from Tommy now as The Blood God (or Technoblade?) shifts his weight nervously. Your mouth is open in shock at the sudden hostility that came from Tommy, after everything you did for him, he’s taking a tyrant’s side.

“I stayed so I could help Phil! I told you that.” You snap back. Tommy laughs, but you could hear the hurt and break in his laughter.

“You said that, but I know it’s because you’re still in love with Dream, we both know you wouldn’t have done shit to help Phil! You would have left him to die so you could be with ‘the love of your life’.” He is screaming now, hatred filling his eyes as you are filled with confusion as to why Tommy suddenly felt so hostile towards you.

“I would’ve helped him.” You say in a whisper.

“I had to do what Dream said, he would’ve punished Phil if I didn’t!” Your voice starts to rise again.

“I just needed time, I would’ve never betrayed you.”  You reach your hand out to Tommy and he pulls away from you, disgust in his eyes.

“Do what you want with her Techno, she’s a traitor.” And he storms out of the door, leaving you to crumple to your knees.

“What did you tell him?” You stare at The Blood God, stone-faced, not letting your emotions get the best of you and trying to intimidate him the best you can.

The Blood God shrugged.

“The truth.” He laughs.

“Now if you would excuse me, we have a war to prepare for.” You watch as he leaves, walking back into the dark hallway as the darkness swallows him. Six guards rush in to pick you up by your arms as you thrash around.

Trying desperately to escape from their grasps, you were so close, you could feel their grasp on your loosen as you fought. But yet again, you feel a prick come into your neck, and your entire world goes black. The last things on your mind are two questions, Why does Tommy hate you? And, what the fuck did they do to Sam?

______________________________________________________________

Tommy managed to find the Antarctic Empire, shivering against the cold as the snow pounded on him from the sky. Sam found him right before he exited the kingdom, his fear overwhelming him as the large man approached him. He was thankful when Sam just handed him a basket with more supplies and wished him good luck.

He shivers again from the cold and leaves a knocky rasp on the front door of Techno’s castle, his lips blue and numb.

What if Techno doesn’t let him in?

Afterall, his family was the one who abandoned him in the first place. Probably because they knew Tommy would’ve stayed with Tubbo.

He wonders what Tubbo could be up to right now, he didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye.

The door opens up hesitatingly, Techno stands on the other side wearing a white dress shirt and tight black pants, his royal cape drooping behind him. His long, pink hair is wild and free and he stares down at Tommy with his crimson red eyes.

“I knew you’d come back.” He smiles, his tusks fitting slightly over his upper lip.

“Come in little bro, I’ve been waiting for your company.” Tommy smiles at Techno’s voice, knowing there is real meaning behind it.

He remembers that Techno was generally not good with his emotions, using settling for a flat, monotone voice as he was always worried people could figure it out. However, it made Tommy feel at home when he noticed that Technoblade was happy to see him.

“But, I must ask, what brings you back?” He cocks his head to the side as Tommy steps into Techno’s kingdom, shutting the rusty iron door behind him.

He can feel the tears in his eyes as he remembers Dream’s public display of Phil and his wings. Tommy assumes that Techno probably knows exactly why he was there, he just wanted to hear it for himself.

“Phil. My.. Friend.. Told me to escape here… To keep me safe.” Tommy chokes out, trying to keep your name away from the conversation. Tommy still cared for you and he was unsure if Techno would like the fact he got so close with someone who was Dream’s right-hand woman.

“I know about Phil.” Techno folds his arms in front of his chest and looks down to the wooden floor, taking a deep breath before he speaks again.

“We will take care of that, war is on the horizon, Tommy.”

Techno snickers to himself as Tommy shivers. What if you die on the battlefield? Your mother-figure, dying for a cause she  doesn't even believe in.

“But, do not worry Tommy, you’re safe here, we will get Phil back.” Techno pats Tommy on the back, that’s as far as he will go with physical intimacy, even if it is with his own blood.

___________________________________________________________

It wasn’t that long until after Tommy arrived where he heard about the spies bringing back a prisoner, leaving the prisoner’s partner bleeding out in the Shared Forest.

Tommy anxiously twiddles his thumb, sitting on Techno’s couch waiting for the verdict. He is worried that it was you, he knows how brutal Techno can be when it comes to Dream’s people. Of course, Tommy was the only exception.

Ranboo walks into Techno’s castle, Tommy learns that Techno has been protecting Ranboo and they’ve grown closer over the time that Tommy was gone.

“What did she look like?” Tommy eagerly asked Ranboo.

He was shocked when Ranboo described you to a tee, even down to the grey sweatshirt that you wore everywhere you went. Tommy panicked and screamed at Ranboo to let him see you, but Ranboo refused, not wanting to get in trouble with Technoblade.

“I’m sorry Tommy, but Techno wouldn’t want you to see her, and I’m not betraying him.” Ranboo was firm in his decision and promised Tommy he would visit you in order to make sure you were okay.

But, Tommy’s relief was short lived when Techno walked into his castle one day, standing in front of Tommy while he laid on the soft couch, his nerves rising as Techno just stood there and looked down at him.

“I heard that a prisoner of ours is the friend you mentioned to me.”

Tommy’s heart stopped in his chest.

“Please, don’t hurt her.” Tommy begs, sitting up on the couch and looking straight into Technoblade’s eyes, which didn’t help him know exactly what Technoblade was thinking.

“She tried to kill me, to kill my people, all because Dream commanded her to.” He snarls in Tommy’s direction.

So she’s still listening to Dream? And she was going to kill.. Techno?

“Tommy I know she’s your friend, but her loyalties obviously lie elsewhere, I didn’t kill her for you, even if the voices wanted me to,  but I can’t let her go, she would probably betray us if I let her live here and… She’s too skilled and useful for Dream to just let her go back to him.” Techno explains himself to Tommy, Tommy is confused about all of it.

Why would she try to kill Techno?

Why is she trying to strip Tommy’s own family away from him?

“No, she isn’t like that, give me a chance to talk to her so you can see the real her, she would never choose Dream over me.” Tommy seems like he’s trying to convince himself, because he knows how much you loved Dream.

“Fine.” Techno grunts and Tommy can only hope that you switch to the Antarctic Empire’s side because if you don’t, you aren’t sure what could happen to you.

Chapter 8: Deal

Summary:

“You care more about that green teletubby than your own family.”

Chapter Text

“Goddamnit, they’ve drugged me yet again.”

You’re sitting on the creaky prison bed with your head in your hands, Ranboo stands over you nervously, his tail moving slowly back and forth as he holds out another bowl of oatmeal to you.

“I’m sorry..” He lets his voice trail off as he stares down at you, unsure of how to comfort you through these times. To Techno and now Tommy, you are a traitor, and Ranboo doesn’t want them to be disappointed in him.

“This will be the last time I visit you…” The monochrome creature says as he sets the bowl of oatmeal on a tiny table right beside your bed.

“They don’t want me around you anymore.” He fiddles with his hands and looks down to the ground, not wanting to look up at your disappointed gaze.

“So.. I won’t have visitors anymore?” You snicker

“Wow I’m so disappointed, I thought we could have been friends.” You slightly mock Ranboo, taking out your frustration and sadness on the boy who has taken care of you throughout this prison stay.

“I’m sorry.” He whispers and almost sprints out of the cell door, locking it behind him and walking away.

Your anger is at its peak now, you throw the bowl of oatmeal that Ranboo placed on the table, shattering the bowl against the wall as oatmeal sprays across the walls.

You take the small table and break the legs off across your knees, taking one of them and slamming it repeatedly against the stone wall until it’s nothing but a wooden stump.

“I’m impressed.” You hear a flat, monotone voice call out to you, the sound of clapping hands filling your ears.

“I would recruit you to my army if you weren’t so loyal to the green teletubby.” He smirks at you.

“I would never work for you.”

“Tsk. Tsk. Such a shame, you have potential.” He folds his arms and leans against the stone wall of your cell.

You stare daggers at him, but he just stares right back, leaving a small smirk on his face as his eyes light up from behind his mask.

“I was going to try to cut a deal with you, but if you want to rot in this cell forever, be my guest.” He snorts to himself as he turns to walk out of your cell, but his words pique your interest.

“What kind of deal?”

Technoblade stops in his tracks and tilts his head slightly to a side to look at you.

“Well, you said you’d never work for me, so I presumed the deal would be off the table.”

“Depends what the deal is.” You were curious and desperate, you wanted Tommy to trust you again, but didn’t want to betray your own kingdom.

You’re just asking what the deal is out of curiosity, nothing else, if it’s nothing bad then maybe you could work with The Blood God, even if you were enemies. Also, maybe being close to him will give you the right opportunity to stab him in the back later on.

“Well, I could bring your partner back here.. And maybe convince Tommy to trust you again.” He starts to walk over to you still sitting on the bed, towering over you as he stares, awaiting your answer with a small smirk on his face.

“You could.. Bring Sam back? I thought you killed him?” Your bewilderment shows on your face as you look up at The Blood God, confused.

“No, I wanted to, but Tommy made me promise if I came across either of you that I wouldn’t kill you two.” His eyes shift to the side and he rubs the bridge of his nose.

“So he’s alive!” You stand up from the bed and look back into The Blood God’s eyes, hope sparkling in yours as you breathe a sigh of relief. Your brother is alive, and that’s all that matters, at least one of you is safe and okay and alive.

“Well, maybe, he’s been tied up to a tree for the last couple days-“

“You tied him to a tree?” You yell and start pushing your body weight against The Blood God, hitting his chest until he reaches his hands out and grabs your wrists.

“Don’t. Touch. Me.” he leans down to you, his eyes glowing red behind his mask.

He drops your wrist as you sneer at him for his comment, how did he expect you not to be mad about the fact he tied your brother to a literal tree?

“You didn’t even let me finish my deal proposal..” He grumbles after your sudden outburst and turns away from you, walking towards the door.

“I will bring Sam to you, only if you train with me and my army, for the war.” He turns around to look back at you, standing in the doorway.

“I said I’d never work for you.” You repeated in a flat voice.

“So Tommy was right-“ He chuckles to himself.

“You care more about that green teletubby than your own family.”

“I never said that!” You protest back, rolling your eyes at the emotional manipulation The Blood God is trying to drag you into. Does he think you’re stupid?

“I mean, I could always go back and kill Sam, since there’s no reason to keep him alive if you wont work with me.” He huffs and starts to shut the cell door.

“No! wait. wait. wait.” You beg.

“I’ll work for you.” You sigh and put your head in your hands.

You’re now the traitor, Dream will find out sooner or later. He will come for you.

And you won't be able to hide.

“I’m pleased you’ve finally come to your senses.” The Blood God runs his hand through his long hair.

“And I’m sure Tommy will be pleased too-“

“Get some rest, tomorrow is a big day.” He turns around and locks the door behind him.

The least he could do is give you an actual room to stay in since you agreed to work with him.

You roll your eyes and moan as you lay on the uncomfortable bed, your dreams filled with what you are going to do when you see Sam again.

Hopefully he didn’t die in the forest..

Chapter 9: Training

Summary:

"Let's see if you can keep up with me, little one"

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

You awake to someone shaking you, your instincts kicking in as you widen your eyes and stand up in a fighting stance. Just to calm down when you realize it was The Blood God, presumably waking you up for training.

“Calm down, I’m here to tell you to get your ass ready, it’s training time.” He throws a heap of clothes at you and leaves for you to get dressed.

You hesitatingly get dressed, worried that the clothes would be something obscure or embarrassing, but to your pleasant surprise the outfit was just a simple pair of leggings and a light brown t-shirt with black boots that are a little too big for your feet.

You stand in the middle of the cell, unsure whether or not you are supposed to leave or stay right where you are when the woman whom you fought with the other day enters.

“Oh great, Miss Piggy is back!” You roll your eyes and start walking towards the door when she steps in the way.

“Don’t think I won’t snap your neck in half-” She leans closer to you.

“Just because we are utilizing your skills doesn’t mean that I won’t kill you if you anger me.” She huffs and steps out of the way as you walk out of the cell door, with her following close behind you. Barking directions at you in order to get to the training yard.

You step out into the training yard and realize you are the only one there, along with The Blood God who is sitting on a nearby bench with a book in his hand. Wearing a white dress shirt with black pants and boots, his sleeves rolled up past his forearm.

“Techno, I brought the human.” The woman pushes you towards The Blood God as he looks up from his book, taking off his glasses and sticking them in his breast pocket.

“Leave us.” He booms and motions for the woman to leave, she frowns at you before she turns and walks away.

“So, you’re good with a bow, correct?” He questions as he grabs an enchanted bow from the wooden rack that sits on the side of the yard.

“Correct.” You stand awkwardly and shift your weight, not really sure what to do as he hands you the enchanted bow along with a few arrows.

“Well, let’s see what you can do.” He grunts and points to a series of round targets.

“Shoot away.” He stands back and you run your fingers up and down the bow, thinking about your own that must’ve been taken away or destroyed by The Blood God when he captured you.

“I don’t have all day.” He groans.

You roll your eyes and settle the arrow on the bow, pulling it back and aiming at the center of one of the round targets.

You release and the arrow flies through the air, landing on one of the edges of the round target as you let out a frustrated sigh.

“Hmph.” The pig snorts.

“Guess you won’t be getting your brother back after all.”

Those words make anger rise in your throat as you put in another arrow, pulling the bow back and letting the arrow whip through the air yet again. The arrow makes its home right in the bullseye of the target.

You hurriedly pull out another arrow and let it fly through the air just like the arrow before it, splitting your previous arrow in half with a loud, splintering noise.

You spin behind you and prepare another arrow, aiming and letting it soar through the air as it also hits the bullseye.

You spin around to face The Blood God and raise your eyebrows.

“Is that good enough pig?” You spit at him, his eyes glow with anger at your words.

“My name is Technoblade-” He approaches you with bloodlust in his eyes.

“Call me by my name human, it’s basic respect.” He grunts again and takes the bow from your hand, hanging it back on the rack before turning back to you with a scowl on his face.

“You work for me now, so it’s time you respect me.”

You sneer back at him, maybe it isn’t the brightest idea to retaliate against someone who is nicknamed “The Blood God” but you simply can’t help yourself. Luckily for you, he ignores the sour look on your face and continues speaking.

“Now, how are you when it comes to a sword?” He grabs two iron swords from the rack, tossing one to you as he gets into a fighting stance.

“Let’s see if you can keep up with me, little one.”

You hate that nickname.

The first thirty seconds of your spar is you circling each other, trying to figure out each other’s weakness. He ends up striking first, his sword meeting yours with a ear piercing scratching sound.

Slashing at each other’s feet and clanging your swords together seems almost like a dance. You both twirl and spin to try to get an advantage over your opponent, you smirk at the fact that you are able to hold your own against The Blood God himself.

That is, until he gets his sword under your hands, flicking your sword up in the air as it lands on the ground.

In one swift motion, he kicks your feet out from under you, causing you to hit the ground with a hard thud.

He sticks the blade of his sword to your neck, his eyes blazing red as you stare at each other for a moment, your heavy breathing synced.

“First lesson: Don’t get too cocky.” He drops his sword to the ground and holds out his hand to you, which you decline.

You stand up slowly and dust off your pants, trying hard to keep ahold of your shattering pride as you look The Blood God in the face.

“I’m not really good at close combat.” You try to explain but you observe the judgment in the pigman’s eyes.

“Well, you should get good at it or you're no better than dead.” He shakes his head and picks up the two swords littered on the ground.

“I won't lie to you, you have potential-” He turns to look at you again.

“You’re incredibly skilled with a bow, but you need other skills to be a good warrior.”

The compliment takes you back a bit and it seems that he could tell because he continues speaking.

“I know you think I’m some asshole who took you away from your family but-”

“You need to realize that I also have people to protect.”

You huff and cross your arms at the sudden kindness from the man who has, quite literally, acted like the biggest asshole known to mankind ever since he threw you into a jail cell.

“You could’ve just let us go back to our home.”

He opens his mouth to reply, but instead closes it and shakes his head again, turning away from you.

“Anyway, training’s over for the day, we will work on your close combat skills tomorrow.”

He walks away from you without looking back, leaving you angry and confused on the training yard grass.

The thought that he might be trying to manipulate you into taking his side pops into your head, jokes on him, you would never actually help him on the battlefield. You just want to see Sam and Tommy again.

“Let’s go, human.” You feel your arms get pulled behind you and the cool metal of handcuffs wrap around your wrists as you’re led away from the training yard.

Chapter 10: Threats

Notes:

/// Slight strangulation, threats, emotional abuse

Chapter Text

“You aren’t moving fast enough.” Technoblade grunts as he stabs at your ankles, hitting them as you try to move back.

“Well, you try to sleep on one of those prison beds.” You place your hands on your lower back and stretch it.

“Enemies won’t care if your back hurts..” He grunts and throws his sword down on the ground, putting his head in his hands and huffing.

“You’re so difficult to work with.” He groans and picks up his sword from the ground again as you roll your eyes.

“I thought you were supposed to be Dream’s best warrior.” He grunts again and stares at you.

“I’m sorry I’m not as skilled as The Blood God himself.” You sneer and his face falls as his red eyes glow.

“I told you not to call me that.” His eyes shift to the side as his ears twitch.

“That’s what you are, a pig-man who has a severe lust for blood, or is it a blood kink?” You laugh as he still looks down at you with glowing red eyes.

You relax until you feel a big hand wrapping itself around your throat, making you gag as it tightens itself. Letting you gag for a few seconds before releasing the pressure on your throat, but keeping itself wrapped around your throat, threatening to tighten again if you retaliate.

You watch as The Blood God brings his face slowly down to yours, not breaking eye contact as his mouth turns into a twisted smile, his irises glowing to the point where they looked like they were popping out from behind his bone mask.

“Do you want to find out?” He says in a threatening tone as his smile fades from his face.

“I don’t think you do, little one. Quit calling me that, or I’ll put your head on a platter.”

He releases your neck from his grasp as you gasp for air, your head feeling foggy as the surprising mood swing takes you aback.

“Pick your goddamn sword up and let’s get back to business.” He barely gives you enough time to recover and scoop up your sword before your swords are clashing against each other again.

Sparks fly as you spin around each other, your fear turning into rage as you start throwing your sword viciously towards him, hoping to make contact with skin.

“You’re letting rage guide you little one.” He throws your sword from your hand again as you stand there, dumbfounded.

“Humans don’t do well when they let emotions guide them.” He runs his hand up and down the sword in his hand, staring at him with a look of content.

“Maybe I should’ve just killed you after all.”  He says blankly as he tilts his head to stare at you more.

“Are you sure Tommy would even let you do that?” His eyes stop glowing for a few seconds as his face contorts into sadness.

“Don’t you remember? He told me I could do whatever I wanted to you.” He snaps back into his intimidating aura, letting his eyes glow again as he tilts his head to the side, examining you.

“He just said that out of anger. You know it would destroy him if I actually died.” You don’t waiver as you make eye contact with him, you hope he can see right through your lie. Because, in all honesty, you don’t know if Tommy would actually be sad at your death, you’re just hoping he would be.

“I could just let you rot in prison for the rest of your life, then?”

“Is it that hard to not be an asshole?” You sigh at Technoblade.

“Yes.” He turns his mouth into a frown and sits his sword back on the wooden rack.

“Sadly, our training time is over, back to jail you go.” He sighs as he watches the pig-woman come to put you in handcuffs and drag you away. Keeping his eyes steadily on you the entire time, which makes you shiver a bit.

________________________________________________________

You hear the clank of the metal door to your cell opening as you sit facing the wall. Not even bother to look to see who it was as you hear light steps approaching you from behind.

“You agreed to join Techno, why?” The familiar voice startles you as your eyes widen.

“To see you again.” You whisper as you still face the wall, afraid this is all a dream and he will disappear from you again.

“Why can’t you just.. Live here… Join the Antarctic Empire for real, then we can be a family again.” You can hear his voice cracking now as it rises in pitch.

“Because, that’s not who I’m meant to be… Tommy” You turn to face him now as hot tears threaten to run down your eyes.

“They would never fully accept me here, I’m a human.”

“So am I! So are so many other people here! It might take time but…” He takes in shuttered breaths.

“Tommy, that pig wants me dead! He literally tried to strangle me today.”

Tommy's eyes widen as he processes what you just said, but they eventually fall back to normal and he speaks slowly.

“Techno… He.. Doesn’t deal with rage well. Due to his uh- voices.” He rubs the back of his neck and continues speaking.

“They’d learn to accept you, as long as you learn to accept them.” He folds his arms in front of him and kicks at the ground.

So, The Blood God can’t deal well with his anger issues, but you’re supposed to learn how to deal with yours?

“Tommy…” You don’t argue, because you know he wouldn’t listen. Maybe he’s right, if you stopped retaliating against Techno’s every move, they would be able to tolerate you more.

But, what about Sam?

Your rage caused you to form your own plan against the pig, but would it be worth it in the end?

He did promise to bring you Sam if you just worked for him, maybe you all could be happy under the protection of the Antarctic Empire.

So why are you still hesitant to accept the Antarctic Empire as your home?”

“You’re my home, Dream.”

“Just give me more time.” You whisper to no one in particular.

Tommy huffs and squats down so he’s at face-height to you.

“You know you’ve always been my mother figure-”

“And I have faith that you will realize that Dream isn’t good for you soon enough.” He stands back up and nods his head and smiles at you. Leaving the cell and shutting the door behind him as you watch him leave.

He has faith in you.

He believes you can change.

So why do you just refuse to?

___________________________________________________

“Why did you go see her, Tommy?” Techno paces around the room as he questions Tommy about his choice to come see you in the cell.

“Because, I wanted to see her. Bite me.” He shrugs.

“Why did you strangle her?” Tommy stares at him.

"She isn't going to trust any of us if you're running around hurting her, she's been through enough."

“Because she keeps calling me The Blood God, you know I don’t like that name.” He huffs and changes the subject quickly.

“Now she knows you still care about her, the leverage I had over her is gone!” He raises his voice slightly as Tommy scoffs.

“I think she’s going to change on her own, just give her some time.”

Despite Tommy’s outburst, he still had hope for you. He took some time to try to understand from your end, Dream was the love of your life and manipulated you into thinking he truly loved you back.

“One day, you’ll be calling me dad Tommy.” Dream laughs and grabs a hold on Tommy’s jaw, spitting in his face.

“And you’ll have to watch me destroy your mother figure slowly-” He leans towards Tommy’s ears.

“Just like how I’m going to destroy your father.”

Tommy shivers at the memory, drowning out Techno’s lecture about how Tommy should leave things in his hands.

He never told you about that moment, afraid that you wouldn’t believe him. Afraid that Dream would kill you or kill him for telling you.

He was just a terrified kid, it was really a lose-lose situation for the both of you.

“Tommy, are you even listening to me?” Techno stands over Tommy as Tommy looks at him with glossy eyes.

“Yeah, yeah I’m okay, sorry.” He sets his head in his hands as he feels a set of strong arms around him.

“Bad memory?” Techno asks as he awkwardly holds Tommy in his arms, trying his best to comfort him.

“Yeah.” Tommy sniffles as Technoblade pats his back. He laughs at the absurdity of Techno trying to comfort him, even though Techno doesn’t like close physical contact unless it’s fighting.

“Thank you for this, Techno.”

Chapter 11: Voices

Summary:

///implied physical abuse, emotional manipulation

Chapter Text

Every day is the same as the last. Wake up, train with Techno as he degrades you for being too slow or too dumb, then go back to your cell and go to sleep.

Tommy hasn’t visited you since he told you to accept the Antarctic Empire as your home, and Techno hasn’t told you any information about your brother Sam.

What if he was lying to you?

What if Tommy was lying?

Is this just all a plight to lead you on and then murder you when you least expect it?

Tommy and Technoblade seemed to have grown close to the point where you feel a bit intimidated. You feel as if he’s replacing you with someone who is so much better than you in every way.

“Food.” The pig-woman grunts and throws a plate of potatoes onto a table, walking out without giving you another glance.

You walk over and look down at the potatoes, they’re baked today and you sigh as they’ve been giving you nothing but potatoes for the past two weeks.

“You’re worthless.”

Get out of my head.

You smack the side of your head with your hand, trying to get the little voice in your head to stop.

But, the voices are your own thoughts, memories of someone who you loved and lost, telling you that you will never be good enough.

“I’m the only one who won’t leave you.”

You wonder what he’s thinking now, knowing that you got taken by the Antarctic Empire and won’t come back.

Shut up.

Shut up.

He doesn’t care about you, he was perfectly fine with you and Sam going out into your own deaths. You both knew deep inside you wouldn’t have been able to kill all of their spies plus kidnap one.

So, Dream must’ve known too.

He brushes his hand lightly through your hair, twirling it around his finger.

“You know I love you, right?” He snakes his hand around your waist and pulls you closer, making you squeal at his sudden, comforting contact.

“But, when you misbehave, it hurts me, you don’t want to hurt me, do you?”

You lean into his neck and shake your head, tears falling down your face.

“I didn’t mean to, I’m sorry Dream.”

“It’s okay, I promise, I won’t tell anyone about your crying, your reputation is safe with me.” He runs his hand through your hair again as you take in his cologne. He smells like pine and honey.

“… Am I disturbing you?” You feel pain shoot up your hand as you realize your fist lay in the mush of baked potatoes.

“What?”

“Oh, no, not at all.” You remove your fist from the potatoes and clasp your hands behind your back.

“I just wanted to check on you… Tommy and Techno said I was allowed to visit again.” Ranboo twiddles with his hands.

You’re slightly surprised that Ranboo would even want to visit you again, you haven’t been particularly nice to him during his visits.

You watch as he pulls out a notebook and frowns as he reads the page.

“What's your name again?” He scratches the side of his head and looks at you with concern.

“Uh.." You tell him your name.

“I-I’m sorry, I’m not good with- with remembering some things. That’s why I have this notebook!” He holds up his notebook with pride and smiles.

“I write things down here that I want to remember! Like your name.” He flips through some pages and shows your name that has been scribbled on an entire page of his notebook.

“That’s… Neat.” You smile as Ranboo blushes, his black and white cheeks turning red at your compliment.

His tail swings back and forth as he keeps a look of pensiveness on his face, almost like he is trying to think of something to say but keeps coming up short.

“How is it? Living in the Antarctic Empire?” Maybe now that you two are friendlier with each other you can get more information about how The Blood God runs things around here.

“It’s okay- Techno takes care of us but-” He sighs and looks down to the ground.

“Did you know Tubbo?” He looks at you with a glimmer in his eye.

“Yeah, he was Tommy’s best friend. Before he moved back here.”

Ranboo huffs and his tail swings around with more urgency as he takes in what you said.

“I wish the kingdom never separated, I miss him.” Ranboo sniffles as you stand dumbfounded, not really sure if you should give him comfort or not.

Eventually, your body starts to move and you pull the creature into your arms,  you chuckle as he has to bend down significantly in order to meet his head to your shoulder.

Why is everyone here so tall?

“I apologize for my outburst.” He quickly pulls his head away from your shoulder and steps back, looking back down at the floor as if he was embarrassed.

“No, I understand. The split was hard… For all of us.”

You briefly remember Sam’s emotional turmoil after the split since his first love, Ponk, decided to take the Antarctic Empire’s side, leaving Sam behind to pick up the pieces of his broken heart.

“What’s going on, Sam?”

Sam enters the house frantically as he rips off his creeper mask. Tears are running down his eyes as he begins to speak.

“The kingdom has split… And Ponk is leaving.”

“The kingdom?”

“Dream didn’t like Phil being in control so… They agreed to split the land in half.” Sam runs his hand through his green hair and huffs.

“Ponk. He’s… Going with Phil.” You can hear his voice crack slightly.

“Oh. Sam, I'm so sorry.” You rush over to him and pull him into a hug as you hear his quiet sobs fill the house, his head resting against your shoulder as his tears soak your shirt.

What are we going to do?

With the kingdom being split, there’s a strong chance that a war will happen between them. With you and Sam being a part of the military, you both will be right in the middle of it.

“We’ll get through this, I promise.” You pull away from Sam.

You hear a frantic banging on the door and sit Sam down before you go to open it.

“Tommy?”

Before he says a word he pulls you into a hug.

“They left me.”

“Tommy, Tubbo and I were good friends back before the kingdom split.” Ranboo’s voice pulls you out of your thoughts.

You think for a moment and don’t remember Tommy ever mentioning Ranboo, maybe he was afraid you wouldn’t accept him being friends with an enderman hybrid.

“I was hoping that when Tommy arrived-” He pauses and takes a deep breath.

“I was hoping Tubbo would’ve come with him.”

You didn’t want to tell him that you had no clue how Tubbo was doing. He was the last thing on your mind ever since Tommy had run away from Dream’s Kingdom.

But, now that you have a chance to think about it. You hope he’s okay, he’s able to handle himself pretty well, and he has Schlatt, but if someone like Dream was after him…

“I’m sorry, Ranboo. He would’ve brought Tubbo along if there was more time.”

“I’m positive Tubbo is alright.” You smile kindly at Ranboo and try to bring his nerves at ease. You could tell he was anxious about Tubbo’s fate now that Tommy wasn’t there anymore.

“Schlatt is taking care of him.” You try to reassure him.

“That drunk? He couldn’t take care of a fish.” He mumbles and you scratch your arm nervously, unsure of how to reply.

“I think I’m going to go-”

“Thanks for talking to me.” He mumbles again and leaves your cell, locking the door behind him again before he disappears into the darkness.

Schlatt has his downfalls, but you knew deep down, he was a nice guy.

No one really understood the ram-hybrid, but you knew he would never hurt a hair on Tubbo’s head.

Never.

Right?

Chapter 12: Sam

Chapter Text

Tommy sits on Techno’s couch, waiting for him to come home to tell you about the fate of your brother.

Tommy was never close to Sam, but he knew that you two had a very close relationship. You were family by blood after all, and Tommy has to respect the fact that you want to see Sam again. Even if he was most likely still loyal to Dream.

Tommy fiddles with his thumbs as he loses himself in thought.

“Soon, very soon, she will be all mine.”

Dream cackles as he walks around your little house, waiting for you to come home as Tommy listens to Dream’s villain talk through his bedroom door.

“I just have to get rid of those rats.”

Tommy hears a loud shattering noise and it makes him jump away from the door.

“Hahahahahaha” Dream’s laughter makes Tommy hug his knees to his chest and he rocks himself back and forth.

Please don’t come in here.

Please.

Tommy hears the door swing open and he sits up, maybe you’ve finally caught Dream in the act.

And you’re going to leave him, and your family is going to be okay.

Dream says your name with a certain coldness and it makes Tommy shiver.

“Dream? What happened here?”

“Oh… I was trying to fix your vase, I know it’s your favorite-”

“I just came in and realized it was broken on the floor.”

That liar, he’s lying.

But you wouldn’t believe him right?

You caught him red-handed, you wouldn’t let him manipulate you that bad.

Tommy never really understood why you were so fond of Dream.

When he first was introduced to Tommy, Tommy just knew there was something off about him. There was a certain coldness to his eyes and venom in his voice.

Even Sam talked to Tommy before about how he felt about Dream, but he said that you’d eventually have to figure it out for yourself.

Because Dream is the most manipulative person in this kingdom.

“It must’ve been Tommy.” You huff and Tommy can hear steps making his way towards his door.

Shit.

Now Dream knows that he’s here.

“Tommy, come out here right now!” Your fist pounds on the door and Tommy opens it, prepared to argue his case.

“I didn’t do it!” He automatically blurts out, which makes you cock your eyebrow in doubt.

“Tommy, it’s okay if you did-” You start.

“But, you need consequences for your actions.” Dream buts in.

Tommy looks at him as he sees the wicked smile on his face, his green eyes boring into him.

Tommy thinks he likes Dream better when he’s wearing that creepy ass mask.

The door slams and Tommy looks over to see Technoblade entering the room. His red cape flows behind him as he hangs his sword up on the wall.

“We found him.” He grunts and walks to the bathroom as Tommy hears the shower turn on.

Guess he’s not going to get any more information than that.

Tommy sighs and picks himself up from the couch, maybe he should pay you a visit to let you know.

But what if they found Sam dead?

Would it really be a good idea for Tommy to go down into your cell to tell you that Techno found Sam, but that’s all he could tell you?

He knew you’d press for more information, so he sat himself back on the couch and waited for Techno to get out of the shower.

__________________________________________________-

You perk up as you hear the sound of chains and shackles being dragged across the floor of the hallway.

You wonder who else they’ve decided to imprison. Probably wrongly as they seem to just imprison anybody around here.

You watch three shadowy figures pass by you, noticing that the prisoner seems to be a foot taller than the guards, which is impressive since the pigs here seem to be around six foot four at the smallest.

The prisoners head tilts towards you as they stop in their tracks, the guards end up running into their back at the sudden stopping of movement.

“Get moving.” One of the pigs snorts and the prisoner is moving again, not tilting their head away from you as they pass by your vision.

You hear a metal door opening and shutting as the guards pass by you again.

“Hello?” You shout once the guards are gone.

“Who are you?” You ask with no response.

“Uhm. You're not a talker I guess. That's okay!”

You hear a loud bang that makes you jump away from your prison bars.

Maybe they don’t want to talk.

You go back to your bed and sit on it, bringing yourself into a fetal position as you listen to the vicious thumping that’s going on in the prison cell next to yours.

“Can you please stop?” You shout, covering your ears with your hands.

There is silence, the prisoner doesn’t reply but they stop as soon as you ask them to.

Fuck.

You lean your head against the wall and close your eyes.

Maybe you just need to relax for a bit.

_________________________________________

Techno steps out of the bathroom wearing nothing but his signature pair of black pants and that bone mask he never takes off, Tommy gags.

“Dude, put on a shirt.”

Techno smiles and disappears into his bedroom to get dressed as Tommy waits patiently for him to come back out so he can ask him about Sam.

“You want to know if he’s alive, don’t you?” Techno steps out of his bedroom, wearing a white button up dress shirt.

Tommy nods his head and waits for Techno’s reply.

“Well, he’s for sure alive, but he’s a little bumped up.” Techno pulls his long pink hair into a ponytail as he shrugs.

“He’s down in the cells, I gave him a silencing potion so he couldn’t talk to her.”

Techno doesn’t really seem concerned about the situation at hand.

“Does she know?”

“No, they kept him in the dark so she wouldn’t see him-”

“Now, if you would excuse me, I don’t really have time for this conversation.”

He grabs his red robe and exits the house again, not even really bothering to tell Tommy goodbye.

While Techno has a soft spot for Tommy, Tommy knows it’s hard for him to really show any real emotions at all. That hug he got from him a few days ago is probably the most he’ll ever get from Techno.

But he was okay with that, because he knew Techno would protect him with his life if need be.

Tommy grabs his own coat, planning on heading down into the cells to talk to you. He hasn’t seen you for awhile and figured you could probably use some company.

His anger at you has pretty much decimated since you agreed to try to work with them, at least you’re trying to change. Even though he knows you still think about Dream and the empire from time to time.

Techno has warned him about trusting you too quickly, he assumes you only agreed to work with him in order to try and take Tommy away from the Antarctic Empire and throw him back into Dream’s.

But, you were the one who told him to leave in the first place. You might be a little confused on where your loyalty lies, but you would never force Tommy back into that place, he’s sure of it.

Tommy exits the castle and heads towards the area where the prisoners are held.

___________________________________________________

Your eyes shoot open as you can hear walking in the hallway. You immediately relax when you recognize that it is Tommy walking towards your cell, and he steps out of the darkness.

Before he could enter your cell, there’s wicked pounding on the door of the cell next to you.

Tommy looks towards the cell of the prisoner who is causing all of the ruckus and you can see his eyes and face fall with a sense of… pity?

Tommy unlocks your cell door and enters, cringing as the banging gets louder and louder.

It gets so loud that you can barely hear your own thoughts as you plug your ears with your fingers.

The banging stops as a harsh, familiar voice yells, which makes your heart start feeling like it’s going to explode out of your chest.

“Tommy! Get me out of here!”

Sam?

Chapter Text

“Tommy?”

Tommy freezes as he hears the voice ring through the hallway, he notices the surprised look on your face.

This isn’t going to be good.

“Sam?” You scream and run up to the bars of the cell that are holding you confined.

“Sam, are you okay?”

“Yeah, yeah I’m fine. Where- Where are we?”

“You’re in the Antarctic Empire.” Tommy answers.

“Oh.”

You both waited for him to continue, but he didn’t. Leaving room for a few minutes of awkward silence as you both tried to figure out what to say next.

“When do you think you’ll be ready.. To accept this place as your home?”

Tommy should’ve hit himself for asking such a stupid question, he needs to be patient with you. If you think he’s forcing you of anything, you might demolish all the progress you’ve made over the last couple of weeks.

But, then again, you are locked in a jail cell, Tommy isn’t sure if this is the best way to get you to join the Antarctic Empire.

But, he would never go against Techno’s demands, especially when he’s more on edge due to the incoming war.

“Uhm.” Tommy watches as you bite the side of your cheek in thought.

“Just give me some more time. Please?”

“Oh, yeah of course… I’m sorry.” Tommy rubs his arm nervously.

“Wait! You’re planning on converting her to join the Antarctic Empire?” Sam’s voice cuts through the silence of the night as Tommy sighs in frustration.

“It’s safer for her here.” He bites back.

“Dream can keep her safer than that pig ever could.”

“DONT talk about him.” Tommy’s words come out bitter as he raises his voice.

He hurt you.

He hurt him.

How does Sam even think that Dream could protect you better than Techno could?

Dream is a coward.

Techno is a little rough around the edges, but when he cares about somebody he would do anything for them.

“What do you know? You’re a child!”

“It doesn’t take an adult to understand that Dream is a manipulative little bitch!” Tommy is shaking now as he remembers everything he put you two through.

“I will ruin you.”

“It’s okay, baby. I forgive you, but don’t make me angry again.”

“Of course, Dream, I’m sorry.”

“I’m going to make her hate you Tommy.”

“You should face the consequences for your actions.”

“But, I didn’t break it! Please, you have to- believe me….”

“please.”

“You don’t know what you’re talking about, tell him.”

Sam’s voice comes out flat, Tommy still shivers with anger as he looks at you. Anticipating your response.

Come on.

Don’t be stupid.

“Well, Dream did kidnap Phil, that’s the whole reason why we’re in this situation in the first place.”

Thank god, Tommy could finally relax a little as he knew you were coming around.

Maybe it would be best if he convinced Techno to let you live in one of the houses. He feels like you won’t really get any farther if you constantly think you’re being punished even though you’ve been making progress.

But, what would they do with Sam? He doubts you would willingly join sides with the Antarctic Empire if you knew Sam was still being imprisoned down here.

He will figure it out later, for now, he has to enjoy the little progress you have made.

Hopefully Sam doesn’t drag you down again, Tommy knows Sam cares about you. However, he seems to still be extremely loyal to Dream.

“Dream probably did it with good reason, you know that the Antarctic Empire always villainized him.”

Maybe it’s because he is a villain?

Tommy can’t help but let out a frustrated sigh at Sam’s words, how can he be this brainwashed?

How has Dream been able to brainwash so many people, even though they all knew deep down that Dream was a terrible king and person.

He’s the whole reason why the kingdom’s split anyway and why Sam lost Ponk.

It took Tommy everything he could muster to not blow up at Sam for even trying to convince you that Dream was possibly a good guy.

Did he not see the destruction Dream had caused?

Did he not realize it when his sister was withering away into a former shell of herself due to his manipulation?

How did Tommy, a fourteen year old boy at the time, understand that Dream was a manipulative bastard before Sam did?

He’s a grown man for fucks sake.

“Tommy, calm down.” He felt your hand on his arm as he realized he was shaking violently and his hands were clenched into tight fists.

“I’m sorry.”

Tommy pulls himself away from your grasp and walks towards the cell door, worried that if he stays longer he might say something he will regret.

And then you’ll be back at stage one again, and all he wants is for you to be happy.

Even if there is a war soon, even if you will probably have to participate in that war.

At least they can be happy for a little while, at least Dream’s grasp and manipulation can’t touch you anymore.

Because all Tommy has ever wanted is for you to be happy.

He wanted the woman who took care of him and loved him like she was his own back.

He just wanted you two to be a family again.

“I will be going now, I need to calm my head.”

“I love you.” He sniffs.

“I love you too Tommy.”

And with a satisfied smirk on his face, he exits your cell door and walks through the darkened hallway up into the light.

_________________________________________________

He approaches Technoblade with a bit of nervousness, trying to mentally prepare himself for the answer he might receive at his question.

“Techno, I have a question to ask.”

Techno looked away from the men he was talking to, they were all dressed in military style clothing as they looked down at Tommy, almost like they were annoyed with his presence.

“What is it, Tommy?” He sighs.

“I think we should move her into one of the common houses.”

_________________________________________________________

“You don’t actually think Dream is a bad guy, do you?” Sam seems bewildered at your previous statement.

“He hurt Phil Sam! He forced us on a death mission!” You fight back.

“You don’t actually think he didn’t know the Antarctic Empire would’ve slaughtered us as soon as they saw we were spying on them?”

Of course you loved Dream, love never goes away.

And while you’ve been blind for so long, you’ve started to open your eyes a little bit.

Dream was a bad person, that’s why he would hit you whenever he didn’t get his way.

That’s why Tommy constantly either shivered out of fear in his presence, or gave him the dirtiest of looks whenever he was around you.

While you want to support your kingdom as it is your pride and joy, how were you supposed to support it and hate Dream at the same time?

The problem confuses you, which is why you tried not to think about it much during your time here.

Whether you like it or not, you will be fighting against your own people, that’s what this entire training routine has been for.

You so desperately wish that things were how they used to be, when Dream wasn’t bat-shit crazy.

When he would hold you on cold nights and comfort you when you were sad.

When he wasn’t so obsessed with the idea of having power that he single-handedly split up the kingdom in order to be his own king.

Sam doesn’t answer your rebuttal, probably because he knew it was true.

Is this how bad you sounded when Tommy used to tell you Dream was manipulating you?

You just blew him off and marked it up to him being jealous that there was someone else that you gave attention to in your life.

But you never questioned why he never felt that way with Sam.

Looking back, you should’ve thought more critically about past events and circumstances.

How Tommy was a golden child unless Dream was around.

Dream always seemed to “catch him” breaking things or doing things he normally doesn’t do.

How many times have you punished Tommy for an act Dream did himself?

How many times has Tommy felt like you didn’t love him due to how much you chose Dream over him?

You just want to make things better.

And maybe joining the Antarctic Empire will be the right thing to do.

Sam isn’t dead, Tommy still wants to talk to you.

You’ll just have to suck it up and deal with that stupid pig and his minions.

Maybe Tommy will forgive you for all the mistakes if you just join them.

Even though, you get this sick feeling every time you think of slaughtering people from your own kingdom.

People who have entrusted you with their lives.

People who are really innocent in all of this, they are blind.

Like you.

You slam your head against the wall and a frustrated groan leaves your lips.

Where do your loyalties lie?

Chapter 14: House

Summary:

/// Talk of gore/violence (mild)

Chapter Text

The creak of the door at the end of the hallway makes you open your eyes wider.

“I’m awake.” You shout, waiting for the guards to come in and whisk you away out towards the training room.

But someone else approaches your cell and you lift your eyebrows in confusion and curiosity.

Why is Technoblade, The Blood God, here standing in your cell?  He hasn’t entered down here since the first time you started training with him.

He grunts as he unlocks your cell door with a key, lingering just inside of your door.

“Come with me.” He grumbles and barely gives you time to process what he just said before he turns and starts walking back into the dark hallway.

“Wait up!” You call after him as you can hear the sound of his boots hitting the floor fade out as he walks further into the hallway.

You rush after him, barely being able to make out the shape of your hands in the sickeningly dark hallway.

You realized you were close to him because you quite literally ran into him. Your nose hitting the hard metal of his iron chest-plate as you end up falling backwards in a daze.

You were sure you were going to hit the ground until you feel a strong arm wrapped around yours as you are moments away from falling loudly on the floor, pulling you upright as you grab onto your nose which has started bleeding profusely.

“Hmph. Pay more attention to where you’re going next time.” He looks at you through the darkness and the only thing you can make out is his tall frame and glowing red eyes.

“Well, it’s not like I can see, it’s pitch black in this hallway.” You mumble and run your hand through your hair.

“Right.” He turns from you and opens up the door that is above you, pulling down a ladder as he climbs up it.

I guess I’m supposed to climb up it too.

You make your way up the latter into the daylight, there is a slight chill in the air. Your shoes crunch in the snow as you wait for what Technoblade is going to tell you to do next.

“Follow me.”

Wow, he is a man of many words.

You struggle to keep up with the pig-man’s pace since he’s at least a head and a half taller than you, he could probably squash you with his foot if he tried hard enough.

At this point, your pants are wet from the deep snow as you trudge along after Technoblade, you’ve called after him multiple times to slow down, but he either never heard you or simply didn’t care that he was going faster than you could really keep up with.

You eventually end up in a town square, people bustling on the sidewalks, people riding their horses through the streets. There are townhouses and shops lined up around the little circle of town.

Dream’s kingdom has never been like this, it’s more dirt paths with the occasional shop here and there. The only paved area you had was at the place where Dream held his meetings, all houses were small cabins and made out of wood. They really could only fit a max of three people in them at a time, maybe four if you were lucky, but they were nowhere near as advanced as this place seems to be.

“We’ve worked very hard to get this place to where it’s at-”

“It would be a shame if your kingdom ruined it for us.”

He shakes his head as you roll your eyes, when is he ever going to stop blaming you for things Dream did on his own?

Just breathe.

Tommy did say that you still have to gain his trust first.

And apparently The Blood God isn’t exactly a very easy person to please.

“Let’s just keep walking,” You say through clenched teeth as he shrugs and you two continue your journey to god knows where.

You two eventually end up in front of a big cabin, further away from the rest of civilization and in the middle of a bunch of woods.

“What are we doing here? You aren’t planning on killing me out here, are you?” You try to sound as careless as possible, but you knew it could be a very real possibility.

“To my dismay, no.” He sighs and walks onto the porch of the cabin, opening the door and motioning for you to step inside.

You step inside and observe your surroundings with amazement, the ceiling reaches far above you. To your left is a living room area with leather couches, a table in the middle with a fireplace at the front, the embers giving off a light, orange glow.

“Tommy wanted to give you one of the common houses, but all of them are full.”

Technoblade approaches from behind you which makes you whip around startled, too focused on your own amusement to realize that the pig-man was still present.

“So, I agreed to give you one of my spare cottages instead-”

“But, don’t think this is an act of kindness or friendship.”

He brings his face closer to yours.

“I’m just trying to make Tommy feel better about you being a traitor.” He whispers in your ear before pulling away.

You flush at his words out of embarrassment, and to think you were actually going to thank him for this kind deed. You couldn’t even blow up at him and he most likely knew that, if you did he would throw you in the cells again and just make up an excuse to Tommy as to why he had to.

“Right, I know.” You turn away from him, hoping he would just turn around and leave but he lingers for a moment.

“Put this on.” He huffs and hands out an ankle monitor to you, which makes you scowl in disgust.

“You don’t actually expect me to wear that thing?”

“You actually think I’m just going to risk the chance of you escaping?”

“Freedom comes with a price, little one.” He squats down and grabs ahold of your ankle, making you squeal and struggle against his grasp.

“I’ll put it on my damn self!” You yelp and he hands it to you as you angrily clasp the ankle monitor around your ankle.

“What’s this even supposed to be for anyway?”

“It tracks where you are at all times, it’s just to make sure you don't escape-”

“Also, don’t even think about trying to take it off, it has a curse of binding on it.”

Your eyes widen, a curse of binding means that you can’t take this off unless you die.

“So, I have to keep this on for as long as I live?” You question as you rub the smooth, cold surface of the ankle monitor.

“There’s a way of breaking the curse, but of course I won’t tell you.” He rolls his eyes and inches closer to the door.

“Now, can I please leave, I don’t actually find value in standing in here with you.”

“Wow, you really know how to make a girl swoon.” You say sarcastically.

He just grunts and walks out the door, slamming the door behind him which causes you to jump at the noise.

“Brute.” You sigh and decide to explore the cabin a bit more, shrieking in excitement at the master side bedroom and the queen sized bed.

Maybe Technoblade still hates you, but at least you get to have an actual bed to sleep in.

_________________________________________________________________

Tommy knew Techno wouldn’t exactly be happy with his request, his eyes narrowing and glowing slightly as his question. However, with some convincing Techno agreed to give her one of his personal cottages which satisfied Tommy.

“Sooo, how’s her progress!” Tommy asked Techno as soon as he walked through the door, sitting on the edge of his seat.

He just wants Techno to accept you.

Maybe you two could become friends.

“Well, she didn’t try to tear me apart so I guess she’s doing alright.” Techno hangs his red cape up on a rack as he pulls out a tea-bag.

“So, you and her could be friends one day, right?”

At the question, Techno sets down the tea bag and the mug he was holding to turn around and look at Tommy.

“Don’t push it, I still find her annoying.”

Tommy smiles at his answer, at least he didn’t say anything violent, like when he told him he was going to gut Dream like a deer and eat his insides.

Maybe Techno is a little insane.

But he can’t help it, the voices just take over his thoughts sometimes. He’s trying to be better, but Tommy definitely wouldn’t want to be on his bad side.

“I got a letter… From Dream’s Empire.”

Techno sets his glass of tea on the table and sits beside Tommy, crosses his legs into a pretzel as he holds a letter in his hand.

“He knows you three are here.” Tommy holds in a breath, of course he would know. He didn’t find them dead in the woods so where else would you guys be?

Techno takes in a shaky breath before he begins to speak again.

“And he’s sent me a bloody feather from one of Phil’s wings.”

Chapter 15: Bad Choices

Summary:

///emotional manipulation, slight physical abuse

Chapter Text

Tommy sits in sickening silence as Techno paces around the room, punching the walls as hard as he can. Tommy is somewhat shocked that the stone stayed standing.

“I am going to kill him.” Techno’s voice turns into a low growl as he stands in the middle of the room, fists clenched and his breath heavy.

“I can’t even use that girl against him, he doesn’t even care about her!” He yells.

Tommy cringes at that, he wouldn’t let Techno use you in that way anyway. Isn’t it enough that you agreed to fight alongside Techno in the incoming war?

“We’ll find a way to save Phil.” Tommy tried to, shittily might I add, reassurance Techno.

Even though neither of them knew if they could actually save the man, Techno might permanently become king, and his father would have an unhonorable death by being killed by Dream.

“We need to start acting fast, and we need to start acting now.” Technoblade’s voice was hollow and it made Tommy shiver.

He hated when Techno went all “Blood God” mode on him, because when he is in this state, his movements are unpredictable. His voices control his every move and any one little thing could send him in a violent spiral.

So, Tommy opted to not say anything as Techno went on and on about the unique ways he was going to make Dream suffer.

“I can’t wait any longer, I’m going to send my soldiers  out tomorrow.”

Wait.

“Wait, what?” Tommy asked, surprised, both of them knew that was a terrible idea, they still needed more resources and training before they all went out to fight against Dream.

Technoblade might be stronger than him single-handedly, but Tommy knows Dream is well-prepared when it comes to a possible war.

What makes Techno think that he could send his soldiers in there blind and hope to come out victorious?

“It’s not like Dream is an all powerful being or anything, I could probably kill him in a one-on-one.” Techno tries to rationalize with Tommy, but Tommy knows better.

“Yeah, you might do well in a one-on-one with Dream, but there are other people that are going to be there too!”

“Well, considering how your mom or whatever and her brother were that easy to capture, I’d say we have a pretty good chance.”

You and Sam weren’t a part of Dream’s main army though, you two were skilled, yes, but you guys were more of his ‘personal assistants’ as he just gave you the missions that no one else wanted.

You would never believe Tommy if he told you that though, and it’s okay, he wouldn’t want to shatter your confidence in shambles.

“They weren’t, apart of his main army though-” Tommy tries to explain before he decides to leave it at that.

Even though Technoblade could be leading the Antarctic Empire to its demise due to his emotional outbursts.

Maybe Tommy shouldn’t stay quiet.

“I’m not saying the Antarctic Empire isn’t strong, but if we send your soldiers in blind,  we could suffer a big loss, even if we end up winning.”

Tommy watches as Techno stares at him and nods his head.

“You’re right, Tommy.” He sighs and Tommy takes a breath of relief.

“I just don’t know what to do, what if we don’t get there on time?” His voice cracks as he speaks, but he immediately clears his throat and fixes his posture.

Techno might have a rough outer shell, but deep inside, he still has feelings. He’s only four years older than Tommy and has all this weight on his shoulders, he was a natural-born leader but even leaders have their weak moments.

“We will get through this Techno, I promise.”

___________________________________________________________________

The ankle monitor beeps persistently anytime you try to step off of the cottage’s porch making you freeze and look around, expecting to see Technoblade running at you with full force to stab you.

Maybe you could take a run for it?

However, you don’t think Technoblade would be dumb enough to just put on an ankle monitor that just beeps if you step foot off of the porch. He probably has some precautions in place to make sure you don’t run away.

Plus, where would you even go? Dream would probably murder you as soon as you walked into the kingdom’s doors, he probably knows that you’re a traitor now.

You turn around and go back into the little cottage, at least you were now trapped in a comfortable house with food and a nice bed rather than a small prison cell.

Sam is still down there.

Maybe you could convince them to let Sam come up to live with you, there’s two bedrooms and Sam would listen to you.

Sam isn’t a bad guy, he just was like you when you first arrived here. Loyal to Dream and his kingdom because it’s all you ever knew.

All you learned was that the Antarctic Empire was cruel and mean and would throw you two out if you decided to try and double-cross Dream and go join them.

Sam is a lot scarier than you, though he's at least seven-foot tall and is nothing but pure muscle mass, you were kind of surprised that they were able to take him down in the first place. Even Dream was afraid of him, which is why he made sure that Sam would take his side, so he had one less person to worry about.

You hear the door open and turn around to see who it was.

“Tommy.”

“Yeah, hi, I just have a few things to tell you from Techno then i’ll be on my way!” He waves at you as he comes and stands by the couch.

“Why can’t you stay awhile?”

“Oh.. Uh.” He shifts nervously.

“Are you avoiding me, Tommy?” Your brows furrow.

“Not exactly.. There’s just been- A lot on my plate.” Tommy looks down and rubs his elbow.

Don’t blow up at him.

It’ll just make you look worse and drive Tommy further away.

“Oh, yeah that makes sense, I'm sorry.”

Your words seem to calm Tommy a bit as his shoulders relax and his posture straightens as he continues talking.

“Techno wanted me to tell you that you will be meeting with the other soldiers in the morning.”

“He’ll come get you when it’s time.” He smiles at you and you nod your head in acceptance.

“So, I must be going now, goodbye.” He turns around without another look back at you and you watch him as he leaves.

What is his problem?

You exhale and decide to take a nap, shutting your eyes and placing your head on the arm rest.

“How could you do something like this? The kingdom was stronger together!” You grab ahold of Dream’s arm but he pulls it away from your grasp.

“They wouldn’t listen to me…”

“If they would have just listened, we’d all still be one big happy family!” He takes one of the picture frames from his shelf and breaks it onto the floor. Making you jump from the sudden act of anger.

“Phil is like- one-hundred years old, he knows how to run a kingdom better than you ever would!”

You retaliate back, which makes Dream turn his mouth into a frown as he approaches you, grabbing ahold of your arm roughly which makes you yelp.

“If you think that, then why don’t you just go with the Antarctic Empire then?” He brings his face close to yours, his cool breath hitting your face.

“You know I wouldn’t do that.” You whisper and bring your lips up to his, hoping it would calm him down.

His lips taste like honey and you can’t help but melt yourself into them. His lips move slowly and carefully against yours as you take a fistful of his green sweatshirt into your hands.

He coils his arm around your waist, settling his hand on the side and pulling you against his chest. The kiss stays slow and cautious as you try to press yours harder into his, wanting to pick up the pace a bit.

Yet, he pulls away from you as you whine and he removes his hand from your waist and pries your hand from his sweatshirt. Stepping back away from you and adjusting his clothes before looking at you again.

“Don’t try to distract me.” He talks in a low growl.

“I know you don’t actually love me-”

“You’re just here because you’re afraid to leave Sam and Tommy behind.” His eyes widen and his mouth curves into a sick smile as he laughs.

“What do you mean?” Your voice cracks and you can feel the fear settling in your stomach.

“I love you Dream,I’ve sacrificed almost everything to be with you!” You shout and tears start welling up into your eyes.

Dream just smiles at you.

“Liar.” He says before pointing his finger towards the door.

“Now get the fuck out of my house, or I’ll drag you out of it.” He sneers and you run for the door, shutting it behind you as you step out into the cool, autumn air.

You cry as you make your way home.

Why is he acting out this way?

What happened to him?

You convince yourself it’s okay; though, he is just having a rough patch. The last few weeks have been stressful for him and, you did insult him, he had every right to be mad at you.

Maybe you’ll bake him a pie in the morning.

You know how much he likes your pies.

You can save him from drowning in this pool of self-hatred.

You’ll rescue him.

He just needs someone there to love and care for him.

And you’ll be there.

For as long as it takes.

Chapter 16: Meeting

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

You jump up from the couch when you hear the door slam open and the heavy boots Technoblade wears hitting against the wooden floors.

“It’s go time!” He shouts as you rub your eyes.

“Wait, but we were supposed to meet tomorrow morning?” You exclaim, confused as to why Technoblade is standing in your house this late in the evening, it has to be at least nine by now.

“Uh. Yeah.” He snickers.

“It is the morning, it’s currently-” He checks his watch.

“Six thirty.”

Oh.

So, you slept the entire night then.

Guess you must’ve really needed that nap after all.

“Oh. Right, well, let me go get dressed.” You scurry off into the bedroom and open the closet door, unsure of what would be good attire to wear for a meeting with Technoblade and all of his best soldiers.

You decided to opt for your usual training wear, leggings and a t-shirt with black leather boots, maybe he’ll think you’re trying too hard if you dress any differently.

Except, you noticed that he was in a large, red cape this morning and he actually had a crown on his head, sitting right above his bone mask.

So, should you maybe wear something fancier?

He wouldn’t expect you to have anything fancy, right?

Wait, why are you even worrying about what Technoblade, The Blood God, thinks of your attire?

Who cares what you wear, it’s not like it’s going to be the end of the world if The Blood God himself doesn’t like your outfit.

So you look at yourself in the mirror with a smile on your face, heading back out into the living room and secretly hoping your outfit annoys him. It’s always funny to see when you’re able to get the upper hand.

You know Technoblade wouldn’t kill you, not as long as Tommy wants you around. Hopefully, he’ll have a different reason to keep you around because he’ll think you’ll be useful for the kingdom, then you won't have to tiptoe around him all the time.

Technoblade just grunts and moves towards the door, opening it and gesturing for you to go first.

“Wow Technoblade, I didn’t know you could be such a gentleman!” You mock on your way out.

“Shut it.” You hear him grumble and you start to follow him to wherever you’re supposed to meet with these other pigs that Tommy was talking about.

To your amusement, they all looked like Technoblade but with different colors, some had blonde hair, others had brunette or even black. All of them had dark, almost black eyes that also seemed to glow in an eerie way.  It made you realize that there must not be a pig out there that looks like Technoblade except Technoblade himself.

Which is kind of funny because aren’t all pigs pink?

They all had one thing in common; however, and it was their height, they were all at least six foot three and leanly built, not at all how you’d think pig hybrids would look.

“Oh, did you bring us target practice?” A pig-man with long black hair and black pig ears looks at you, his fangs sticking out of his bottom lip as his grin widens.

“Calm down, don’t hurt our new guest before she even has time to introduce herself.” A woman with blonde hair hits the man on the arm, causing him to wince.

“Can you all stop being idiots for once?” Technoblade growls at the two pig-hybrids.

They both stop and stand straight up as you look around the small crowd. There are only four other pig-hybrids here with them, two boys and two girls.

Is this really their entire army?

“Now that you’ve all stopped acting like idiots.”

“This is your new brother… or sister. In arms.” He gestures to you who is still looking around, observing the pig-hybrids.

“You’re letting a human join us in battle?”

“Wasn’t she one of Dream’s pets before this?”

“What’s to say she isn’t going to betray us?”

“She’s weak, she would just be an extra body on the battlefield.”

“Silence.”  His booming voice raises over them all and they fall quiet.

“This decision is final .” He says and looks down at you with a slight smirk on his lips.

“I wouldn’t risk your lives if I didn’t have faith in her to be strong enough to keep us with us.” He turns back to the pigs and you’re shocked by the sudden compliment.

“She’s extremely skilled with a bow, plus she was one of their own, she’d be able to give us intel about security systems inside of Dream’s kingdom.”

The sentence makes you realize why Technoblade really complimented you. It’s not that he has faith that you won’t die in battle or that he trusts you enough to put people’s lives in your hands. He just wants insider information, so he might have realized he has to be as nice to you as possible if you were ever going to hand over information.

You hardly listen as Technoblade explains his plan on how he’s going to slaughter Dream and his entire kingdom. Not ever taking time to think about the fact that not everyone there is bad, people are just there out of convenience.

Dream’s kingdom isn’t an arctic wasteland, and while Dream is for sure batshit crazy, he isn’t a bloodthirsty beast who kills anyone who even looks at him the wrong way. But, with the way things are going now, you wouldn’t be surprised if he got to that point sometime soon.

“Maybe we don’t have to kill everyone.” You laugh uncomfortably as all the pigs look at you with annoyance.

“And you think she’s ready to fight with us?” The blonde one scoffs.

“She probably couldn’t kill a fly.” All the pigs laugh at her comment as you feel anger and embarrassment rise to your cheeks.

“I could outshoot you any day Miss Piggy.” You say the words without thinking and instantly let your hand fly to your mouth as you can see Technoblade look at you from the corner of your eye.

“Oh really?” She approaches you as you look at her, her eyes glowing with rage and amusement.

“I think so.” You keep your chin up as you stare at each other, her nostrils flaring.

“Okay, how about you meet me at the training yard tomorrow? Bright and early.” She sneers and smiles, showing off her tusks as she lowers her face to yours.

“Don’t be late.” She steps on your foot which makes you tense in pain and walks back to where she was standing in the group.

“Idiots.” You hear Technoblade mumble under his breath.

“Just don’t kill each other, the more people the better.”

The pig woman nods and you nod also, making contact with her as she traces her thumb across her neck.

“Where the hell is my general?” Technoblade changes the subject and you spend the rest of the meeting pretending to listen to whatever battle plan they had.

_________________________________________________

“You’re really going to let her get under your skin?”

You hear a woman’s voice as everyone else stood around talking to each other.

“Are you talking to me?” You look at the woman, her brown ears poking out of her long, chestnut brown hair. She looks like everyone else, with teeth poking out of her bottom lip and black eyes that are glowing dimly.

She giggles.

“Who else would I be talking to?”

You ignore her sarcastic answer and respond to her original question instead.

“I’m a little hot-headed I guess.” You shrug.

“Listen, Karma is a bitch really, none of us really like her.”

“You honestly should just ignore her, she thinks she’s the baddest bitch and all that.” The woman snorts.

“Right. Well, I just don’t like when people doubt me.” You bite at your lip awaiting the woman’s answer.

“I get that, but you seriously shouldn’t let her get under your skin, there’s a reason why Technoblade chose you to fight with us.” She clasps her hands together and looks at him.

“He really is a good man if you get to know him, I know he’s probably been a dick to you lately, but you should just give him some time to warm up.”

Him just being a dick is an understatement. I mean, he did kidnap and imprison you, then forced you to work for him if you ever wanted to see your own son again.

“Im sure.” Is all you say, trying to sound as unsarcastic as possible as you don’t need her down your throat trying to convince you that Technoblade, The Blood God, is actually a good man with good morals.

He literally just suggested they kill every person in Dream’s kingdom.

How are those words of a good man?

Maybe everyone here is being gaslit and brainwashed by Technoblade.

Luckily, the woman just nods her head and pats your back, making you shiver a bit at the sudden physical contact.

“I’ll see you later, there’s fried chicken calling my name.”

Soon, everybody scatters around, leaving you and Technoblade standing on the concrete.

“I need to talk to you.” He says before he turns around and grabs you by the elbow, leading you through the roads.

You are stumbling as he keeps a hold of your elbow, practically running through the streets as you yell at him to release you yet, he doesn’t.

Eventually, you’re in the front of his castle and he opens the door and pushes you inside before looking around and closing it behind him.

“Now, why the fuck would you do that?”

Chapter Text

“What do you mean?” You try to act as if you had no idea what his question meant.

What do I mean?!”  He growls and approaches you, making you flinch when he is only mere inches from your face.

I mean, I’m trying to help you but I can’t do that when you’re running around pissing all of my soldiers off.” He says as you feel his cool breath against your skin.

“You’re already at a disadvantage for being a human, don’t make it worse for yourself then it already is.” He scowls and pulls away from your face, you swore you saw him briefly look at your lips before making eye contact with you again.

“She was the one who started it.” You grumble and fold your arms across your chest.

“I would have kept them in line, you challenging her is probably the worst idea you could have come up with.” He sighs.

“I can beat her.” You stick up your chin and look into Technoblade’s eyes, trying to look as confident as possible.

He laughs which makes you cringe a bit in embarrassment.

“How many six foot, professionally trained pig-hybrids have you fought?”  He smirks and folds his arms in front of him.

“I am professionally trained too, you seem to forget I was one of Dream’s best.”

“Listen, I am not trying to offend you-” His voice softens a bit.

“But I am sure the training Dream gave you is nothing compared to the training I give my soldiers.”

If only Technoblade knew.

You tilt your head in confusion, you have been training with Technoblade for the last couple of weeks and besides him beating you in every sparring match you’ve had with each other, it didn’t seem that bad.

“I know what you’re thinking.” He sets his hands on his hips.

“I’ve been going easy with you, soon you’ll be training just like the rest of my soldiers, and I assure you, little one.” He leans closer to you, his red eyes glowing as they stare into yours.

“It will be nothing like you ever experienced before.” He smirks and pulls away from you.

“You’ve seemed to not mention the fact that your ankle monitor hasnt beeped since you tried to leave the porch yesterday.”  He chuckles as you look down at the monitor still wrapped around your ankle under your pants.

To be honest, you forgot it was even on your ankle until now.

“It won’t beep as long as I’m around.” He runs his hands through his loose, pink hair.

“So, I guess we will have to spend more time together if you ever want to leave the cottage.” He smirks again as you roll your eyes.

“I’d rather rot in the cottage.” Before Technoblade could answer, he glides his eyes over to his door as you hear it open and shut.

“Oh… Am I- Interrupting something.” You hear kissing sounds from behind you and whip around to see Tommy making a kissy face towards you and Technoblade.

“I don’t kiss pigs.” You say the words without really thinking about them and can hear Technoblade take in a sharp breath as Tommy promptly stops and lowers his eyes to the floor.

“I’m taking you home.” Technoblade grabs ahold of your elbow and practically drags you out of the house, refusing to talk to you as you yell at him to let you go as he drags you back through the town's roads.

Eventually, you make it to the cottage and Technoblade doesn’t say a word as he opens the door and drags you inside.

“What has gotten into you?” You manage to twist your elbow from his grasp as he makes his way towards the door.

“Call me anything but Technoblade again and I will have your head.” He tilts his head enough to give you a slight side-eye.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, get some sleep, you’ll need it.” He says cooly before opening the door and slamming it with such strong force that it shook the cottage.

_______________________________________________________

“Dream, my feet are literally bleeding!” You shout as you step across the hot coals that sear your feet, making a crackling sound as they burned your flesh.

He cackles as he watches you cringe at the searing pain that spreads across your feet.

“A real soldier knows how to deal with these situations, I’m just trying to help you baby, don’t you want to be one of the best?”

You wanted to make him proud.

You wanted to be the strongest soldier he’s ever had.

Even though he hasn’t trained you very much with hand to hand combat.

He will get there eventually.

He just wants to make sure you have a high pain tolerance so you can handle anything that comes your way.

“Move faster baby, enemies could catch up to you with the way your moving.” He cackles again and you wipe your tears.

He went through this also.

That’s how he became so powerful.

Don’t you want to be as powerful as him?

How do you expect to be his queen if you can’t go through the pain he’s gone through?

You push through the almost unbearable pain and make it to the other side.

To Dream.

To your other half.

And he embraces you and wipes away your tears.

He gives you a healing potion and whispers sweet nothings in your ear as you cry into his arms.

“It’s okay baby.”

“You’re stronger now.”

_____________________________________________________

You wake up in a cold sweat, the moonlight illuminating into the room from the uncovered window. Your heart beats rapidly as you briefly remembering the scorching pain of the hot coals and you rub your feet.

You never really doubted what Dream would tell you, no matter how outlandish it was, he was just trying to protect you.

He wanted to make you stronger.

Yet, he hurt you and claimed it was for your own benefit.

Is that what Technoblade is going to do to you?

You did it for Dream because you loved him and wanted to share the pain he went through.

But, you loathed Technoblade so how does he expect you to go through so much pain for him?

You stand up from the bed and look out the window, staring at the moon.

“No matter where we are in the world, baby, we will always be under the same moon.”

You shut the blinds.

You don’t want to be under the same moon as him anymore.

Chapter Text

The light creeps in through the blinds as you lay awake on the mattress. You haven’t been able to sleep since your dream last night and your eyelids feel heavy.

You take in a quick breath as you jump out of bed, realizing you were supposed to mean the pig-woman first thing in the morning.

You take a sigh of relief as you check the alarm clock on the bedside table which showed it was about six-thirty in the morning. Hopefully this is what they consider as the first thing in the morning.

You make your way over to the small closet and rummage through the clothes Technoblade had his minions give you.

You aren’t exactly well-prepared, with no weapon of your own you’d just have to take the old ones that are set up on the rack in the training yard.

Hopefully, the pig woman doesn’t bring an enchanted bow of her own and also opts for the things that hang in the training yard.

But, you didn’t establish rules about this shoot off, she could bring a knife and stab you in the throat for all you know.

Your hands feel clammy as you throw on the most comfortable clothes that you can find at the time.

You hear a harsh knock on the door just as you finished tying the black boots you decided to wear.

It must be Technoblade, and you hesitate, not really wanting to face him after his outburst from last night and from Tommy’s mocking.

“Open this door or I’ll just have to forcibly open it myself.” His monotone voice rings through the cottage, prompting you to run to open the door.

“Damn, you don’t always have to resort to violence, yanno?” You roll your eyes at him as you hold open the door.

His eyes shift to the side as he grunts.

“Maybe if you didn’t take three years to open the damn door.”  He mumbles and steps aside as you push your way past him.

“Hurry up pi- I mean… Technoblade.” You catch yourself before you end up angering Technoblade again.

You’re surprised when Technoblade says nothing and wastes no time to walk ahead of you, not even looking back your way as he automatically expected you to follow.

He leads you again through the twists and turns of the Antarctic Empire, even though it was early in the morning, there were a good amount of people parading through the streets.

Eventually, you end up at the training yard. You shiver as you see the soldiers from yesterday along with at least one-hundred more standing around the yard. Laughing and joking with each other.

“Are you positive you want to do this, little one?” Technoblade leans closer so you can hear him through the talking and laughter of the other soldiers.

You swallow and continue to stare at the soldiers as you answer.

“I have to be.”

________________________________________________

“Well, well, well, would you look at that, the human actually showed up.” She snickers as you two approach, the other soldiers snicker with her but stop when Technoblade raises his hand.

“Remember, what happens here today stays here.”

“I do not want my soldiers bickering and fighting like children.”  He lowers his hand and folds his arms across his chest.

“If either one of you fight after this, I will have both of your heads.”

He seemed to like to threaten that a lot.

You both nod as you go to grab a bow from the rack, you briefly think about what must’ve happened to Steve before you pull one of the cracked and old bows from the rack.

You feel relief when the pig-woman does the same thing, at least now you know it will be an equal playing field.

And you have to win.

I didn’t train you to be a loser.

“So, what are we shootin’ for?” The pig-woman approaches you.

“Money? Bragging rights?” She shrugs her shoulders.

You don’t respond and run your fingers along the cracks of the wooden bow. You didn’t really want to do this for any physical reward, you just wanted to prove to these people that you’re better than they might think.

“So bragging rights? Got it.” She snorts.

She steps away from you and grabs two quivers filled with arrows, handing one to you before speaking again.

“You see those targets over there?” She points to a set of round targets that are about fifty yards away from the place you’re standing.

You nod your head to acknowledge her question.

“How about we both throw three arrows at the targets and whoever has the highest score wins?” She leans down to you and paints a mocking smile on her face.

You swallow and nod your head again, not wanting to speak and possibly embarrass yourself as you’re sure your voice would come out hoarse and shaky.

“Great! How about you take the first shot.” You watch the other soldiers shuffle closer to you two as she motions her arm towards the targets.

You catch Technoblade’s eyes for a second and he nods his head.

You take a deep breath and pull an arrow out of the quiver, setting it on the bow and pulling back, trying to stay steady as you aim at the target. An uncomfortable silence fills the training yard as everyone watches you with jeering eyes, expecting you to fail miserably.

You take another breath before releasing the arrow, it whips through the air and hits the target with an off-putting crack. Settling in the middle of the target.

“Bullseye!” One of the soldiers yell.

“Damn, Karma, you might be getting beat by a human today.” The soldier's laughter fills the courtyard again and you are filled with a sense of pride.

But, the battle isn’t over yet.

Karma sneers and grabs an arrow from the quiver, taking no time at all to shoot the arrow through the air into the middle of the target.

The soldiers clapped.

No one clapped for you.

You feel a little pit in your stomach before you pull out another arrow from the quiver, a mix of anger and anxiety causing you to clench your teeth together as you line the arrow up with another one of the circular targets.

You release the arrow and again, it whips in the air, finding its way into the middle of the target again.

Bullseye.

There are a few gasps and ooos from the other soldiers in the crowd and you are tempted to look back to see Technoblade’s reaction, he’s been doubting you from the beginning and here you were, keeping up with one of his “professionally trained” soldiers.

You smirk as you watch the pig-woman pull another arrow from the quiver with an unemotional and bored look on her face.

Again, with one swift motion she pulls the bow back and sends the arrow flying through the air. You think you can feel your heart beating out of your chest as you watch the arrow hit the middle of the target and everyone cheers.

Bullseye.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe you ever thought you could be as good as me!”

“You’re nothing, you wouldn’t even be good with a bow if it wasn’t for me!”

“You’re shit. You’re so shit at everything you do. It makes me so sad baby, do you want me to be sad?”

Your hands shake as you grab for another arrow in the quiver.

What if you both tie?

You guess that’s better than if you completely embarrassed yourself and lost.

What if you lose?

You’ll be shunned, Dream always told you that no one likes a loser.

You have to win, or at least tie with her.

“No one likes a loser, baby.”

You take your time as you line up the arrow with the target, your hands feel clammy and your heart beats rapidly.

You let go of the arrow and it flies through the air, seeming to take hours to reach the target even though it took a mere second.

You heart drops to your feet and your head pounds.

Nine.

Not a bullseye, you got a nine.

You hear a few snickers from the crowd and you wish you could just shrink back into Technoblade’s cottage never to be heard of again.

You didn’t even react when the pig-woman got another bullseye and everyone cheered for her.

You didn’t even react when she reached her hand out to you and you shook it out of respect as you could swear you could see a mocking glimmer in her eyes.

You didn’t react when you could feel Technoblade’s presence behind you and could hear his voice calling to you from what seemed to be a distant place.

You lost.

“You’re a fucking loser.”

Notes:

I was on the fence on whether or not I was gonna let my dear character win.

Chapter Text

How did you lose?

You’re one of the best, Dream told you that himself.

“You may be shit, but you’re one of the best soldiers I’ve ever had.”

You’re one of the best so how could you have lost?

You can still feel Technoblade’s presence as you watch the soldiers file out from the courtyard, bickering about how sad a human you are and how it was so funny that you really thought you could beat her. The woman you talked to yesterday throws you a pitying glance as she walks out with the rest of the soldiers.

“It’s okay to lose sometimes, little one, you put up a good fight.”

You turn around and look up at him, his mouth is formed into a stiff, straight lined and his red robe flows behind him as a light wind blows through the air.

“I am not a loser.” you say harshly, trying to convince yourself more than Technoblade.

“Of course you’re not, but winners have to lose sometimes.” He snickers.

“Unless you’re me, of course.” His comment makes you roll your eyes and he smirks.

You can feel the tears welling up into your eyes as you try to stay composed.

You’ve lost. You’re a loser.

Everyone knows that now and Technoblade will have you executed because you’re just a loser who fucking sucks at everything.

You hear a light grunt as you are pulled out of your own self-hatred. You watch Technoblade ruffle his hand through his hair.

“How about I take you to go see Tommy, heh?”

“Would that make you feel better?”

He lowers his eyes to yours and you can tell that he tries to soften his facial expressions behind his bone mask.

You realize that everyone here sees you as a child. You’re twenty-two, literally a grown ass woman and they all treat you like you’re Tommy’s age.

But, you nod your head because you do really want to see Tommy right now and-

“What are you guys going to do with Sam?”  You try to keep up with Technoblade’s pace as you both head towards the exit, you can see his jaw slightly tensing at the question.

He lets out a long, deep sigh and stutters for a bit before answering.

“I don’t know what to do with your brother yet-”

“He’s more dangerous than you so, I’m not sure if we can risk-”

“Letting him go.” You finish his sentence for him and he nods his head.

You can feel your face flushing with anger but you try your best to control it. A part of you understands what he means but another part hates him for taking you both from your home and then expecting you both to be loyal to him like little puppies.

He seems to notice your anger and walks ahead of you so he can stop in front of you and look at you with a stern expression.

“Look, I’m not trying to rip your perfect little family apart or whatever you think I’m doing.” He huffs.

“I have been trying to be nice to you and your brother because I know Tommy cares deeply for you but-” You fold your arms in front of you and scowl.

“I also have a kingdom to protect, you’re the one who agreed to work with us. If you really want me to, I can throw you both out into the forest again and leave you to die because god knows Dream won’t take you back!”

The mention of Dream makes you freeze for a second as memories start flooding into your brain again.

“I love you, please don’t leave me baby.” He runs up and throws himself into your arms as you drop your packed bags.

“The Antarctic Empire would never accept you like I have, you’re too weak for them.”

“As soon as they know you’re associated with me, they’ll throw you right back here.”

You can feel your body trembling at the memories. Memories that you pushed at the very back of your mind so you didn’t have to think about them again.

You’ve just thought of the nice things Dream has done for you so long.

And now that state of ignorance and bliss is cracking the longer you stay here.

You just wanted him to love you.

And he did, he had to. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have done all those nice things when you were younger.

But, maybe somewhere along the way his thirst for power overtook his love for you.

“I’m sorry, you’re right.”

You just didn’t want people to be mad at you anymore. It makes you tired and makes you feel useless and you hate feeling useless. Dream taught you that useless people are people who don’t deserve to live and enjoy life.

You don’t want to be useless.

“Just… At least try to be cooperative, I promise, I’m trying to be as nice as I can even though I really just want to rip-” He shakes his head.

“Nevermind, let’s just go see Tommy.”

He turns around and continues walking and you slowly follow.

_____________________________________________________

Tommy hears the door creak open and expects just Techno to be walking through the door. His eyes widen in surprise when you walk in, a defeated look on your face.

He says your name with surprise as he slowly gets off from the couch, walking towards you as he pulls you into a hug.

Techno pushes past him and disappears in his bedroom, his footsteps seem to be more heavy and frustrated than usual. He should probably check on him later.

Right now, he had to focus on you as you cry into his shoulder. He wasn’t sure what to do considering you were usually the one comforting him as he was the crier, not you.

“What’s wrong?” He had an idea, he knew you were doing that shoot-off thing today. He thought it was kind of dumb, you shouldn’t feel the need to prove yourself, you’ve already had.

“I lost.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I let you down, I lost, I’m a loser.”

Tommy let you sob into his shoulder, his hands clenched into fists as he knows exactly why you are crying. It’s all because of that green teletubby bitch and Techno is going to make him pay. Or else Tommy will do it himself.

“You’re not a loser.”

He pats your head awkwardly as you continue to sob on his shoulder.

“I know I’m kind of a little pussy when it comes to this whole physical comfort thing.”

Please laugh.

Tommy calms down a bit when you let out a light chuckle and pull away from him. He might not be very good at… Virtually everything but he knows how to make people laugh.

“Thank you, Tommy.”

He watches you wipe your eyes and smile, but it instantly turns back into a frown as you cross your arms in front of you.

“I just feel like I let you down.” You sniffle.

“You’re trying and that’s all that matters to me.” Tommy pats your back.

“I know you feel like you constantly have to exhaust yourself in order to keep me safe but you don’t have to do that anymore.”

He wraps you in another hug in order to reassure you. He still loves you even after everything, you were the only one there to take care of him for awhile and he just wants to be able to repay you.

“I just wish I was capable enough to be the only person who needs to protect you.”

You pull away from his hug again and turn towards the door.

“Technoblade, I’m ready to go back.” You shout and Tommy can hear Techno’s heavy boots coming from his bedroom.

Tommy says your name and you don’t turn around to look at him, and he watches Techno open up the door. You look to the side to glance at Tommy before walking out the door with Techno following.

Tommy just desperately hopes you heard the last words he said to you before you walked out the door because you are his family and you always meant so much to him ever since you volunteered to take him in. He just wants you to be okay.

“Goodbye, I love you..”

Chapter Text

Tommy slowly watched the light in your eyes fade as time went on. He heard the fights with Dream, the screaming, tearful fights and he wished he wasn’t just a scared little kid. Worried that Dream might’ve hurt him or would’ve taken him away from you if he would have said anything.

Tommy heard the name calling and was confused when you both pretended like everything was okay, convincing Tommy to come out after your screaming matches and he was met with smiles and sad eyes.

“Tommy, would you like to go on a nice walk with us?”

He really didn’t want to go, the energy during your walks were always tense and uncomfortable but Tommy always went anyway because he didn’t want you to be mad at him. Even though Dream looks at him with a murderous rage whenever you aren’t looking, making him believe that Dream might sneak into your house and kill him in his sleep one day.

However, Tommy refused to abandon you, even on the day that Techno met him at the Shared Forest and begged him to come to the Antarctic Empire with him.

“Tommy, it isn’t safe for you there.”  Techno grabs a hold of Tommy’s shoulders.

“I understand you wanted to stay because of Tubbo, but you will get hurt if you don’t leave with me today.”

Tommy was surprised when Techno didn’t drag him by his hair when he refused, not even explaining why he didn’t want to leave in the first place. Tommy felt Techno wouldn’t be happy about Tommy’s new found family and he doubted he would take both him and you in.

Maybe it was his own self-destruction that caused the both of you to have to suffer for longer than you would have had to if Tommy would have just asked.

But, Tommy was just a kid, he didn’t really know what to do. He couldn’t take on the responsibility of getting both of you out safe and alive.

So, he never escaped to the Antarctic Empire even if he had the chance to because he didn’t want to leave you behind.

So he would go on those terrible and awkward walks with you and Dream, and he would deal with Dream’s taunting if that meant that he could make sure Dream didn’t hurt you.

But he failed.

Maybe you would be different… Happier if he tried to convince Techno to take you with the both of them.

_____________________________________________

You’re still recovering from the loss last night, you no longer want to show your face around any of them. They’ll all laugh at you and make fun of you and convince Technoblade to execute you.

“Oh my god, quit being a fucking baby and get your ass up.” Technoblade grunts as you lay on the couch.

You groan as you roll off the couch, standing up and folding your arms in front of your stomach, shrinking into yourself.

“Seriously, I’ve never seen such a sore loser.”

You remove your arms from your stomach and straighten up out of spite, you may feel like shit but you’re not going to let him get to you.

“See, now was that so hard.” He rolls his eyes and throws you a jacket that was hanging on the rack.

“Now, put this jacket on and some shoes, we still have work to do.”

He turns and leaves the little cottage as you search for shoes. Your head is still pounding from the crying you did the night before and you honestly just wish you could curl up in a ball and never speak or interact with anyone again.

You trudge over to the door and open it, a breeze of air hitting your face as you shiver.

You also didn’t appreciate having to live in such a cold climate all of the time, there was at least a little bit of snow on the ground at all times.

“We don’t have all day, little one.”

Technoblade calls from the end of the porch and you shut the door and make your way to him, still moving at snails pace. You kind of hope he realizes and just sends you back inside the house.

“I know what you’re doing and it’s not going to work.”

He faces away from you and starts walking, which causes you to have to walk faster in order to keep up with him.

“Why can’t I just take a break for today.” You huff.

“Winners don’t take breaks.”

Good thing you were a loser then.

You already proved that when you lost to Karma in the training yard yesterday so you don’t understand why he refers to you as a winner.

“I’m not a winner.” You mumble and he doesn’t bother to respond.

You soon end up at the training yard again and hesitate to go inside, the wound of your loss yesterday all too fresh.

“It’s just you and I today, relax little one.”

You follow Technoblade through the training yard and are hit with confusion when he sits down on one of the picnic benches, tapping the place beside him, indicating for you to go and sit down with him.

You listen and sit down beside him, shivering as the cold, Antarctic air picks up a little bit.

“I’m sorry about my outburst yesterday.”

You were surprised when he spoke, and apologized.

“You’re actually not that bad, but you are definitely frustrating at times.”

He rubs his chin and looks out into the training yard, his pink hair blowing back out of his face.

“I lost”

Maybe it was dumb of you to still be hung up on the fact that you lost, if they didn’t think you were a little kid then, they probably definitely thought you were one now.

But they didn’t understand how truly detrimental to you it was.

Because in your head, you let your whole family down.

In your head, you were useless and Technoblade was going to execute you any second.

And no one really understood that, you barely understood it yourself.

“Yeah, you’re right.”

“But, even I lost at one point, it happens.”

You furrow your eyebrows as you don’t understand what he would be getting out of this conversation. He told you yesterday he only deals with you because of Tommy, so why is he getting all sappy now?

You just shrug your shoulders and slouch, you don’t really want to have another conversation about how it’s okay to lose and yadda yadda yadda.

“I mean, you lost against me many times, why is it any different with Karma?”

You know he’s right and you never really considered it before.

Was it because people were watching?

Was it because you didn’t automatically know you were going to lose?

Did you feel like you had something to prove to Technoblade?

But, why should you care about what he thinks? He doesn’t care about you or what you think, he’s just using you to have more people in his army.

You don’t care about what he thinks.

“I don’t care about what you think.”

“Never said you did or had to, little one-”

“But, there’s obviously a reason behind why you were so crushed by your loss.”

He turns his head to face you.

“I didn’t know you were my therapist.” You murmur under your breath and he lets out a short laugh.

“I didn’t mean to pry.” He absent-mindedly runs his hand through his hair and looks off into the distance.

You have some time to study his features, which you’ve never really done a lot before as you were afraid of looking him in the eyes.

The top half of his face was still covered with the bone mask, but you could still see the bottom half and a little sliver of his cheek poking out from his mask.

He had a surprisingly sharp jawline for a man that’s supposed to be a pig hybrid and you swear you can see the lightest of freckles dotting the small piece of his cheek that isn’t covered with his mask.

Soon, he’s looking back at you and you realize he caught you studying him and you look away quickly. Feeling nervous as you can still see him looking in your direction from the corner of your eye.

“Now, come on.”

He grunts as he stands up from the picnic table, his towering frame now standing over you as he reaches his hand out to you.

“Let’s practice a bit, eh?”

Notes:

It is currently one thirty in the morning but I had a sudden rush of motivation and here we are.

Chapter 21: Emotionless

Chapter Text

You actually enjoyed the training time you had with Technoblade, but you could tell that something was bothering him as he would sometimes disassociate in the middle of practicing.

You were so focused on making him like you and gaining Tommy’s trust back that you forgot what you are actually going to war for.

Phil is still imprisoned, he most likely is still being tortured and it would be all your fault because you, Tommy, and Sam left. Now, he would have more of a reason to hurt Phil because he could no longer take his anger out on you.

And you were antagonizing him for weeks whenever he was probably struggling with the fact that his father was being tortured and he had to prepare for a war that could potentially cost him his empire.

“What are you thinking about?”

You both sit on one of the wooden benches in the courtyard, it’s warm and the sun is shining and today was perfect except it probably was another torturous day for Phil and everyone probably hates you.

“I’m sorry about Phil.”

He takes a deep breath and turns himself away from you, an awkward silence falling between the both of you before he stands himself up and wipes the dirt off of his black pants.

“We should get going.”

He doesn’t even turn to look at you as he starts walking away from the bench, away from you and you must’ve made him mad. Your life is in his hands and you made him mad and he’s going to execute you because you made him mad.

“I’m sorry-”

“Get moving.”

You nod your head and hurry after him, making sure to stay a couple feet behind him so you don’t make him more uncomfortable. You two were making so much progress, you were managing to work with him and he genuinely didn’t seem that bad. Even if he is kind of emotionally distant and intimidating ninety percent of the time.

You follow behind him, the only sound being the crunch of the snow underneath your feet as you make your way back into town, watching people laugh and joke and ignore the fact that there is a war on the horizon. Maybe they don’t even know they might potentially lose their lives?

Technoblade doesn’t talk to you the rest of the way to the little cottage that you called your home and the ankle monitor started to feel heavy against your ankle again. You almost forgot it was there, but every time you get pushed back into the cottage, you realize that you’re still just a prisoner of the Antarctic Empire.

You walk onto the porch and Technoblade opens the door for you. You’re unable to read the emotions on his face due to the hog skull he was wearing, but his mouth was formed into a straight line and his red eyes glowed from underneath the skull.

“You know the drill.”

It’s the first words he’s spoken to you since you left the training yard and you enter into the cottage, hoping he would follow you in so you could apologize properly because you don’t want him to be mad at you because you didn’t want to die.

However, he just shuts the door immediately after you step inside and you realized you ruined everything again. You were trying to make things better because you wanted Tommy to trust you and you wanted Technoblade to not execute you.

You turn on the fireplace and listen to it crackle as you throw yourself onto the couch face first. You’re nervous and frustrated and scared and you slightly wish things went back to how they used to be even though they weren’t exactly ideal. At least you weren’t worried about dying all the time and at least Phil wasn’t being tortured and Sam wasn’t thrown down in a cell to be forgotten about.

You just wanted to be useful, but you weren’t useful because your ex-boyfriend caused pain for a lot of people. Yet, you stood by his side through all of it and couldn’t realize how much he was hurting people for his own gain.

Being here started to open your eyes but it also made you realize how terrible of a person you were for standing by his side for so long and even now, you were wishing you were in his arms because he was an amazing boyfriend when he wasn’t angry and thirsting for power.

You just wanted everything to be okay again but you knew things would never go back to normal. You could ask Techno to take you back to the Shared Forest and walk your ass back to Dream’s kingdom but you knew he’d never accept you again.

Maybe you deserve to be executed, Dream has always said useless people don’t deserve to live. It wouldn’t be hard to believe that Technoblade feels the same, his soldiers are well-trained and you’re just some adult child that cried because she lost once.

You thought for a second that maybe you could be accepted here, start anew and possibly give Tommy the life he deserved. But, you don't belong anywhere, no one wants you because you’re useless and no one likes useless people.

You just wanted to belong somewhere again.

__________________________________________________________

Tommy furrowed his brow as Technoblade came through the door, making small sniffling noises as he stood in the doorway, not acknowledging Tommy sitting on the couch next to him.

“Are you okay, Techno?”

Techno doesn’t answer and just disappears into his bedroom.

Tommy knew there was something wrong then and he knew that you two were together. He just hopes that you didn’t piss off Techno to the point where he considered executing you again. Techno was just starting to tolerate you and Tommy really hopes you didn’t ruin that.

“Techno! You can talk to me.”

He calls out to his brother again, when Technoblade shuts down it’s bad for everyone. Last time, he almost sent out his entire army for slaughter and Tommy didn’t want him making rash decisions like that again so he needed to talk to him.

“It’s okay to need to talk to someone.”

Tommy can hear heavy footsteps walking out of Techno’s bedroom and he appears, his mouth pulled into a frown as his head hangs low and he stares at the ground.

“It’s not okay for someone like me to be weak, Tommy.”

He speaks with a low voice as Tommy approaches him, pulling him into a brotherly hug as Techno remains stoic, trying his best to stay void of emotion.

“It’s okay to be weak sometimes, Techno.”

His father was kidnapped, the responsibility of keeping the kingdom afloat now fell onto his shoulders. Even though Techno was stoic and liked to pretend he never felt stressed or scared, it was only natural for him to feel this way after having such a big weight put onto him.

“Let go of me, Tommy.”

His voice is emotionless and Tommy doesn’t want to bother Techno too much so he pulls away. He knows that trying to force Techno to be affectionate won’t get him anywhere, he has trouble expressing his emotions and Tommy doesn’t want to cause him to lash out more.

“I’m sorry, I just need some time to myself.”

Techno disappears in his bedroom again and Tommy is left worrying about what he could do.

Hopefully the voices stay at bay.

Chapter Text

It’s been three days.

No one has been back to the small cottage and you think you’re about to go insane.

Usually Techno is here every morning to take you to training but he hasn’t shown up in three days and you can’t leave because of the ankle monitor.

You have tried everything to get it off, even taking a saw to it at one point and almost cutting your ankle off along with it.

Maybe cutting your ankle off wouldn’t be so bad at this rate.

But, it’s been three days and Technoblade is probably planning your execution as you sit here like a duck. Waiting for your untimely future as your mental health deteriorates along with your hope of staying alive.

He slams the closet door shut and you can hear the scrape of a chair.

“Dream, don’t do this, please, don’t leave me alone in here.”

You try to twist the knob but it doesn’t budge, he must’ve set the chair against it so it wouldn’t open no matter how hard you tried.

Tears streamed down your face as you felt the walls closing in on you, causing your heart to beat rapidly. Your chest hurts and you think you’re going to die. The walls are going to crush you and you’re going to die.

“Please, Dream I can’t do this.”

“Shh baby, you need to do this.”

You hear his footsteps fade away as the bedroom door slams shut and it just makes your panic more real. He just left and you’re going to die here and he’s going to let you die.

“Dream! Please, please, I can’t die here, not now.”

You can barely breathe as you pound on the closet door, begging and pleading for your life because you don’t want to die now. What about Tommy? He won’t be able to survive this place without you, he needs you.

You need him.

“Fuck. What did I do.”

You open your eyes and feel strong arms wrapped around you, rocking you back and forth.

His head is in your hair and you can feel the cool mask that Dream always wears settled against your shoulder.

“I’m so sorry, I love you, I’m sorry.”

Your head still pounded and you were just appreciating the attention.

Maybe if you were thinking straight that day, the pain that followed that night wouldn’t have happened.

Maybe you wouldn’t be so fucked up now.

But, you loved him and he was sorry and he loved you and that's all that mattered.

He made an honest mistake.

Everybody makes mistakes sometimes.

Everybody makes mistakes.

_____________________________________________________________

Tommy doesn’t know what to do, Techno hasn’t come out of his room for three days and he occasionally hears the sound of Techno’s fist hitting the wall. Sometimes he can hear him talking, presumably to the voices, he’s going crazy again and Tommy doesn’t know what to do about it.

“Techno, you need to stop this, there’s still a war to prepare for.”

Tommy yells against Techno’s door, not daring to enter in case he gets beat up or something.

I will kill all of them”

“I will rip out their hearts and eat it in front of their family.”

Techno speaks with a flat voice.

“Okaaay buddy, let me know when you stop being all ominous and creepy.”

Tommy sighs and steps away from Techno’s door, he must be letting his voices take over again and that’s never good. The only person who could help him control them was Phil, and he isn’t here.

Tommy will deal with him tonight, right now he needs to see you because you’re probably freaking out about the fact that no one has come for you in three days. You never really did well with being alone for long periods of time, really only ever being alone when you were sleeping most of the time.

Sam has also not been fed for three days because Techno is usually the one to give him food but since he’s going batshit crazy, he hasn’t exactly been available.

If Technoblade doesn’t get his head out of his ass then Tommy is going to have to take over, and Tommy taking over would probably be the single-handedly worst idea that ever existed for this empire.

Tommy is still just a kid and he really doesn’t know what to do if Technoblade doesn’t recover from this, he will just end up slaughtering everyone who doesn’t feel the way he feels and that’s not the way they should do things anymore.

Tommy is worried, really worried, he feels like everything's falling apart again. He is trying his best to look at the positive side of things, at least you aren’t under Dream’s control anymore, but you might be if Technoblade doesn’t get his head on straight again.

Tommy grabs his coat off of the rack and heads out the door, beads of sweat builds on his forehead even in the rigid air.

He makes his way to the little cottage you resided in, nerves building up from his stomach into his throat as he was afraid you were going to be angry with him.

You didn’t do well alone for longer than a few hours. One day you were okay with being alone, even going out camping by yourself for a couple days every once in awhile. The next, you were sitting with Tommy in his room for as long as you possibly could. He could see your face drop whenever he mentioned that he had somewhere to go.

He just wants you and Techno to be alright again. He was now having to manage to comfort him both and it was hard for him. He felt bad as he couldn’t help either of you that much, but he is trying his best.

He takes a deep breath when he comes face to face with your door and raises his hand to lightly knock on it.

______________________________________________

You jump when you hear a light rasp at the door.

This is it.

This is Technoblade coming to lead you to your execution.

Well, you aren’t going to go down without a fight.

You stand up and pick up a lampshade that sits on a table beside the couch, walking over to the door and preparing to swing it as you toss open the door.

“Hi- What the fu-”

You smash the lamp over Technoblade’s head and hear a grunt of pain as you stare at the man.

He seems shorter.

“Oh my god, Tommy I’m so sorry I thought-”

He rubs the top of his head and grits his teeth as he lifts up his other hand and stumbles inside the cottage.

“Shit-Ow fuck, what the fuck was that for!?”

He squeals and rubs his head again.

“I’m sorry Tommy, I thought you were Technoblade.”

You take his arm and lead him to the couch as he continues wincing and rubbing his head.

“Did you think you’d be able to actually knock him out with a fucking lamp?”

Tommy smiles as you both settle down on the couch.

“I don’t know, I thought I was about to get executed since I haven’t seen anyone in three days.”

You cross your arms and notice Tommy is still absently rubbing his head, you stand up and grab a frozen bag of broccoli from the fridge.

“Sorry about that, Techno’s been… Not so sane recently.”

You pause in thought because that man was never sane. His nickname is The Blood God, how could he get any crazier?

“Hm. I see. What’s wrong with him?” You question.

You probably shouldn’t care, I mean he’s your enemy so that’s what you want right? You want him to suffer and not be able to murder all of the people of your kingdom.

Except, you started seeing him more and more as a real person and you know there’s a lot on his plate with having to take control of an entire kingdom. Dream dug his own grave by kidnapping the king of the Antarctic.

The people of your kingdom are innocent; however, they’re just following Dream because they know no other way. You were the same when you first came here, blindly following the man that led you and your brother out to the Shared Forest knowing you would probably die. They’re just people with families, people who want to be safe. They’re still your people even if you are currently working for the enemy.

They don’t deserve to die.

“Well, you know..” Tommy sets down the frozen broccoli and slaps his knees with his hands.

“He’s just not feeling well. Heh-”

That’s definitely code for ‘there’s something going on that you cant know about.’ Tommy must think you’re stupid, but you drop the subject immediately and nod your head in acceptance.

“Is he still taking care of Sam?”

Tommy sighs and shifts his eyes to the side, refusing to make eye contact with you.

“I’ll take that as a no.” You huff.

“I’m sorry, he’s been the one feeding him but he hasn’t come out of his room for days.”

Of course, the conversation had to swing right back to Technoblade and how he is mentally deteriorating. Not even considering the fact that your brother is also probably deteriorating and now starving in the cell that they put him in.

“Why can’t you guys just release him? He won’t hurt anybody.”

He wouldn’t.

He would listen to you. He’d never hurt anyone unless it was for good reason. You could convince him to join forces with Technoblade too and they would have nothing to worry about.

“We can’t do that-”

“Says who? I know him better than anyone else, leaving him down in that cell to rot isn’t doing him any good!”

“I knew you would do this.”

He mumbles and gets off of the couch, storming over to the door.

“I don’t know what you expect me to do about it. This shit is hard on me too, my brother is going insane and I can’t talk to you without you yelling at me over some bullshit I can’t control.”

His hand is on the doorknob as you look at each other and you realize neither of you understand each other anymore. He doesn’t understand how difficult being here is for you and you don’t understand how hard it is for him to constantly have to take care of the adults that are supposed to take care of him.

He is just following the rules because he loves his brother and his father. He thinks he is doing right by you by trying to force you to accept the things that are happening to you and Sam. He doesn’t understand why you don’t want to follow the rules.

You aren’t following the rules because you don’t trust Technoblade and don’t trust this kingdom. You want the best for Tommy, but aren’t sure if this is the best for him or not. You also want the best for yourself and Sam and being here and doing this doesn’t seem like the best option for you two anymore.

“Tommy, I-”

And the door slams before you could even apologize.

Chapter Text

“Techno, you need to snap out of it, this place needs you.”

Tommy starts shaking the knob to Technoblade’s door, he wouldn’t do this normally but he really needed Techno to start becoming the leader he needs to be again. Even if he gets mad at Tommy for a little while, he will no longer let his wallow in his own self-pity anymore.

“Go away Tommy.”

Tommy takes a quarter and sticks it in between the cracks of the lock, turning it slowly so Techno doesn’t notice.

His hand shakes as he grabs ahold of the doorknob, slicking it with his sweat as he turns it slowly, his heart racing and threatening to burst out of his chest.

He slowly rolls the doorknob, thinking that the slower and the quieter he enters Techno’s room, the less likely he would be to attack him for not leaving him alone like he requested.

“Techno..”

Tommy hesitates slightly as he walks into Techno’s room, he notices shards of glass littering the hardwood floor from the mirror that used to stand on Techno’s dresser.

Technoblade sits on his bed, facing his back to Tommy as he slouches, sighing whenever he hears Tommy’s voice ring through his room.

“I thought I told you to leave me alone.”

Techno doesn’t bother to look at Tommy, instead opting to just stare straight ahead at the plain wall that faces him.

“Stop being a little bitch and actually get up and be the leader you need to be!”

Tommy might’ve just signed his own death wish by the hands of Technoblade by talking to him like that, but there is no other way to get through to him. He refuses to continue to watch his brother deteriorate into a blood thirsty, stupid beast who will end up killing anyone he sees as a threat.

“You don’t understand, Tommy.”

“You just don’t get it.” Techno says through clenched teeth, his hands shaking as he tries to calm himself down.

“Then help me understand, but what you’re doing right now is no good for anybody.”

Tommy walks over and sits lightly beside Techno, remaining stiff in fear that one wrong move might set him off again.

“Tommy, leave.”

“I will rip your throat out if you don’t leave.”

Tommy gulps at the threat and hurries to stand up and make his way over to the open door.

This is bad.

This is so so bad.

What is he supposed to do when the only man that can save everyone is going through his emo teen years when he’s needed the most?

He’s still just a kid, he would step up if he knew what to do but he doesn’t. His mother figure is rotting in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, Sam is starving to death in a cell, Phil is doing god knows what, and Techno refuses to come out of his room. What is he supposed to do?

“Fine. But Phil’s blood is on your hands.”

Tommy slams the door behind him, his eyes and soul filled with anger because he thought things were finally going to change. Techno would kill Dream and he would be able to see Tubbo again. You would be able to be happy and safe with him in the Antarctic Empire, no longer having to worry about Dream’s constant manipulation and abuse. Phil wouldn’t die and everything would be okay, that’s how it was supposed to be.

Now, everything is going to shit like it always does and Tommy doesn’t know what to do about it. He can’t go back to Dream’s Empire, dealing with Techno’s mood swings  would be better than going back there. He needs a way to get Techno out of his own head, without getting slaughtered in the process.

“Do you think Phil is dead Tommy?”

Tommy hears a sniffle behind him, realizing he was too lost in his anger and didn’t hear the creak of Technoblade’s door opening. Tears poke themselves out from the corner of his eyes and he bats them away quickly.

“We would know if he was dead.”

“They wouldn’t kill him, not yet.”

Tommy heaves a big sigh and looks down at the ground, watching his feet shift back and forth as an uncomfortable silence fills the air.

“Do you think we can save him?”

Techno’s voice comes out strained as if he’s holding back a cry.

“I know we can Techno, but I can’t do it without you bro.”

“Am I the villain, Tommy?”

Techno looks down at Tommy, his eyes glowing red through the bone mask as he tilts his head to the side, strands of his long hair falling into his face.

“Of course not, you’re going to save us all.”

“But I’ve killed people Tommy, I locked up the only family you had left.”

….

“Why don’t you hate me, Tommy?”

His voice is stoic, almost like he was genuinely curious rather than getting emotional about the things he has done wrong. Tommy felt a shiver go up his spine as he wasn’t sure how to answer him. Maybe he should hate Techno, maybe he should hate everyone here, but he doesn’t. He knows that Techno is just struggling against his voices right now, and he doesn’t want to abandon him when he needs him most.

“You’ve never shed blood without reason, Techno.”

Technoblade threw back his head and laughed.

“There’s no good reason to kill somebody Tommy.”

Tommy cringes as Techno pats his head on the top of Tommy’s head.

“It’s either kill or be killed out here Techno, you know that. It’s not like you’ve hurt innocent people.”

“I’ve hurt y/n and her brother, aren’t they innocent?”

Not exactly, no. You both have slaughtered people that didn’t deserve it, using the excuse that they were against Dream and would have ruined the kingdom. You weren’t completely innocent, even if Tommy gaslights himself sometimes to believe so.

Sam was so much worse than you; though, murdering anyone that got in his kings way, you just didn’t know about the countless people your brother as slaughtered in the name of “keeping the kingdom safe.” Tommy had watched Sam murder a homeless man because he believed that they were a plague to the kingdom, a waste to Dream’s big plan.

It always confused Tommy, Sam was a nice man, even gave him supplies when he was escaping. Just when it came to protecting the kingdom, he became ruthless and blood-thirsty, he was no longer the Sam that would bring them pies at night so that they wouldn’t go hungry. It was like something possessed him as he slaughtered anyone and everyone he didn’t see fit enough to live in the kingdom.

“Sam deserves what’s happening to him.” Tommy mutters.

“And her?”

“She doesn’t understand it now, but you’re helping her more rather than hurting her.”

Techno huffs and takes the bone mask off of his face, throwing it to the ground.

“Would she still want my help if she saw me like this?”

Tommy examines the various scars that run across the upper half of Techno’s face, some of them are faded and barely visible while others are still pink. They run across the bridge of his nose, across his forehead and there is even one that goes vertical across one of his eyes.

“I’m a monster, Tommy. The bad guy! You can’t change that.”

Tommy doesn’t speak, instead he pulls Techno into a hug to reassure him the best he can. Words might not work on him, but something has to and it was the only thing Tommy could think of doing at the moment. He feels as Techno tenses up as he keeps his arms in the air.

“You can’t just hug your way through everything.” He grunts.

“Yeah, but I can try.”

Notes:

Sorry it's been awhile! I was graduating highschool and stuff + had writers block for a period of time.

This chapter I guess could be considered a "filler", but I think it was important to progress Techno and Tommy's relationship and I also love writing the duo as brothers who have soft spots for each other.

Chapter 24: Blood God

Summary:

///tw: mentions of blood

Chapter Text

The door to the cabin swings open with a loud bang, you jump at the sudden noise as you were dozing off on the couch since you didn’t have anything better to do.

“Get up, it’s training time.”

The monotone voice of Technoblade filled the room, which came as a shocker to you considering what Tommy had told you three days ago. Suddenly he’s better now and ready to train? That didn’t really sit right with you, Tommy didn’t go into explicit detail about what was happening with him, but you’re sure it wasn’t good.

“Wow, nice to see you again too.” You mumble, standing up from the couch.

“I need to get changed first.” You sleepily scratch your scalp as Technoblade looks at you with annoyance.

“I thought I told you to always be ready.” He grunts.

You roll your eyes at him, you haven’t trained for six days and you pretty much assumed he was never coming back. Of course you wouldn’t be fully decked out in your training clothes, you stopped getting ready ever since Tommy came to your house to tell you Techno wasn’t doing very well.

“I haven’t seen you for six days, I apologize for assuming you weren’t coming back.”

You stand in front of the couch with your arms folded as he stares at you with a pensive expression, you notice the netherite ax that is sheathed on his hip.

“I forgot you had such an attitude.” He huffs and rubs the back of his neck, looking defeated as you refuse to move.

“Listen, I’m sorry, okay.” He takes a step towards you.

“Can’t believe I just said that.” He shifts his eyes to the side, sighing again as he makes a clicking sound with his tongue. Your eyes widen at the sudden apology, knowing that it probably took a lot for him to actually apologize to anyone.

“I guess I accept your apology.” You roll your eyes again and release your arms to your side.

“But I seriously need to get dressed.” He nods his head at your statement and you take off into the bedroom, when you’re finished, you rush out to see Technoblade walking around, observing the inside of the cottage as if he’s never seen it before.

“You know, I put these floors down myself.” He chuckles as he turns around to face you, his hands rest on his hips.

“Wow, maybe you should teach me the way of putting down floors one day.” You say sarcastically, but you can’t help the slight smile that creeps onto your face.

He snorts and walks back to the door, opening it and gesturing for you to step out before him. Following closely behind you once you step out into the open air, the first air you’ve gotten in six days. You feel the bitter wind on your face and for once, relish in the cold air because you haven’t been outside in what felt like forever.

You two make the same walk you have countless times before towards the training yard, you can feel people staring at you and Technoblade as you pass through the town. Probably because they haven’t seen either one of you in days, whispers of rumors fill your ears when you pass people.

“I heard he went crazy.”

“I thought he would’ve killed her already.”

“What king goes rogue for six days and magically shows up to pretend everything is fine.”

You side-eye Technoblade to see his reaction, he doesn’t seem bothered with the comments at all, only looking ahead with a wicked smile on his face, his tusks sticking up over his top lip. It’s almost as if he likes the gossip.

“Don’t they bother you?”

“Hm?” He side-eyes you as you both continue walking.

“You know, aren’t you afraid they’ll lose respect for you and rebel or something?” You ask.

“Hmph. Not really, no.” He smiles again, starting to walk a bit faster so he’s slightly ahead of you as you have to practically run after him.

“Why not?” You say when you catch up to him, he’s still walking at a normal pace while you’re jogging in order to keep up with him.

“Story for later.” His mouth turns into a straight line and you decide not to keep pushing him about it. It’s probably best, he did just have a breakdown where he refused to do anything for six days and you’d prefer not to be the one who sent him back to that phase.

“Fine.” You mumble.

The rest of the walk was quiet, you spent the time looking around and appreciating the nature of the Antarctic Empire. You furrow your brows when you see a big polar bear tied to a fence post, Techno seems to notice the movement in your face because he answers the question before you could even ask.

“That’s Steve, my polar bear.” He points to the polar bear, which is rolling in the snow.

“Ah.”  Like your bow. You watch the polar bear with intense eyes, wondering why they keep it on a rope. It's a wild animal, it deserves to be free. However, you won’t start an argument about it now, no matter how much you want to.

You eventually make it to the training yard, you quickly run over and run your fingers against one of the wooden bows. You haven’t gone this long without having the thrill of shooting a bow, even when you were still in Dream’s empire, you shot your bow everyday.

“What did you guys do to Steve?” You turn to Techno.

“My.. Polar bear?” His eyes narrow a bit in confusion.

“No.. Uhm, my bow? The one I had with me when you kidnapped me?” Maybe that was a poor choice of words since technically, he could’ve killed you instead of taking you to the Antarctic and training you to become a warrior. But, that is what he essentially did, it’s not like you would’ve willingly went with him if given the choice.

“Oh.. That.” He rubs the back of his head and his mouth twitches into a frown.

“It may have been burned.” He smiles awkwardly and you huff in frustration.

“Of course it was.” You pout, folding your arms again.

That bow meant a lot to you, Tommy made it for you one day when he was learning how to make tools. It was a shitty looking bow, but god could it shoot. Plus, it had a lot of sentimental value since Tommy made it for you, but now it’s just… Gone.

“You’re not getting more than one sorry out of me today.”  He tries to joke, but he can tell that you’re not in the mood for his bantering.

“How about we continue close combat today.” He quickly changes the subject, grabbing one of the wooden swords that hang from the rack.

“Yeah sure.” You reach up to grab one of the wooden swords, not realizing how sharp the wood is.

“Ow. Shit” A splintering piece of wood cuts the inside of your hand, leaving some blood to come spilling out onto your palm.

“Damn.” You say, looking at Technoblade who is staring at the bloody spot on your hand, suddenly, his red eyes go dark against his mask and a low growl escapes his lips.

“Technoblade?” You furrow your brows as you watch his body tremble, a low hum coming from his chest as he doesn’t release his eyes from the pool of blood forming on your palms.

“You need to run.” He whispers in a growl as your eyes widen in shock.

“You need to leave.” He covers his mouth with his hand and turns away from you.

“What are you talking about?” You approach the tall man cautiously.

“You said it yourself, I can’t be more than a few feet away from you or else my ankle thing will go off.” Techno is huffing now, biting onto his arm as he tries his best to stay calm.

“It’ll just make some really loud noise, but you need to go… Get Tommy.”

“Techno, you’re scaring me.” He leaves off a sickening laugh as he turns around to face you again, his hair falling into his face, you can’t even see his pupils anymore due to his eyes darkening to the point that they're black.

“Good.” He smiles.

Chapter 25: Authors Note.

Chapter Text

Hi, I'm sure most of you have read plenty of these and have heard the news about Technoblade's passing.

Due to these circumstances, I will be putting this story on a hiatus, whether or not I will be able to continue writing it is up in the air right now and I apologize to the people who have been reading from the beginning. I would love to possibly be able to continue writing it as I still have a story to tell; however, with the way I'm feeling right now, it'll probably take a bit if I do decide to continue it.

Technoblade was definitely my favorite content creator, and while this story is about a "Different" Technoblade in a sense, you can't really think about his character and how is character acts without also associating him with the content creator. I would drop everything I was doing to watch his livestreams and he influenced me a lot more than I thought he would. He's an inspiration to many.

No matter what I decide to do, I hope my decision will be respected. I do believe that his character needs to continue to live on whether it's through writing or fanart or any other kind of work. I would love to be able to write Technoblade content again, but right now I think I definitely have to take a break from it and step away to decide what I think is best for the story.

Thank you for the support! Donate to the Sarcoma Foundation if you can!

Remember to drink water, take a break, and long live Techno the Blade!
