Work Text:

The fire flares up once again, and he’s helpless to stop it! Screaming, it all suddenly crumbles apart before Wu Xie’s very eyes…

Pang Zi has stopped snoring, and Wu Xie is staring out into the darkness, trying to calm himself down. He’s on his side, feeling both sweaty and cold.

The bed moves as Pang Zi turns over, and then one of those big, warm hands brushes his hip.

“You having nightmares again, Tianzhen?” his voice is sleep-drunk and gruff.

“It’s fine,” Wu Xie says lowly, “Just go back to sleep.”

“How can I when you won’t?” he says, and he presses up against his back. Pang Zi is a blessing in the winter, warmer than any comforter. Wu Xie finds himself meeting him, trying to remind himself that this is real. This matters.

"I could distract you a little?" Pang Zi’s hand travels over his stomach in suggestion. He’s chuckling in that way that makes Wu Xie smile.

And he wants to be distracted. He hates the nightmare, hates the repetition of it and how it makes his curiosity gnaw at him. It always seems to be there, a little buzz in the back of his head, even when he’s just trying to enjoy their time together. They are common-law husbands according to Pang Zi. Isn’t it time he started settling down?

“You’re tired.” he says finally, trying to show some modesty.

“Sure I am. But let’s make sure I can really sleep, eh?”

And suddenly his hands are everywhere, stroking and pinching. Wu Xie sighs as Pang Zi starts kissing his shoulders and neck. He leans his head back, biting his lip when Pang Zi’s hand passes his hip and tugs at him a few times.

And then, slowly, he enters him. Pang Zi grabs a firm hold of his hair, keeping him in place. Wu Xie makes a small noise, but Pang Zi knows how much he can take, and he knows he isn’t hurting him, so he just kisses his neck and thrusts slowly. Too slowly. In fact, Wu Xie gets impatient and moves against him.

“Little brat…” Pang Zi chuckles, “Thought you’d want me to go easy on ya…”

Then he grabs a hold of Wu Xie’s thigh and lifts it. He can only imagine how obscene he must look. Especially when Pang Zi starts getting rough. His eyes are half-lidded as he moans and gasps.

“Harder… please go harder!”

Two of Pang Zi’s fingers end up in his mouth, and he sucks dutifully before he even has time to command him. And he does go harder. The sound of skin on skin echoes in their room.

“As you wish, Tianzhen.”

Pang Zi is resting his forehead against the back of his neck, barely even grunting as he picks up the pace. Wu Xie keeps wondering if he’s going to split down the middle, but right now, he knows he wouldn’t exactly mind. It just feels too good.

His body tightens up before release washes over him, and he sinks down like he is boneless. Pang Zi comes inside him with a groan, and he realizes there’s nothing in his mouth anymore, and he’s been holding his other hand. They’re so still for a moment that he thinks they’ll fall asleep like this, entangled and connected.

But then it’s over.

He pinches his eyes shut when Pang Zi turns the light on, grabs a couple of napkins and cleans them up.

“We’ll have a bath tomorrow morning, huh? Don’t think I wanna change the bed right now…”

Wu Xie doesn’t answer, but when Pang Xie lies down again under the blankets, he grabs him and curls up around him like he’s hadn’t had physical contact in years.

“I’m not going anywhere.” Pang Zi chuckles, ruffling his hair. Wu Xie doesn’t let go. He doesn’t let go until the sun has come up and Pang Zi kisses him good morning, and all the nightmares are washed away.
