Chapter 4: (Carl) Wholesome Date Night - ❥

Summary:

Barley risked his life to get you together with Carl on a "fake" date as a dare. He knew you liked him, so of course he'd do this for you. Hopefully everything goes to plan...

Chapter Text

"I can't believe I got myself dragged into that, that childish game..." You grumbled to yourself as you put your earrings in. You were getting ready for a "fake" date with the angry little miner robot know as Carl, yes him of all robots.

Carl didn't seemed too pleased with the idea of the "fake" date either when Barley dared the both of you. Barley didn't mean no harm when he said it, but it left the both of you flustered. Everyone there saw it all as they all watched the both of you not knowing what to do with yourselves. Some chuckled while others whispered to one another. You were calm and accepting to the dare while Carl wasn't. You didn't think he'd care at all, but oh boy did he make a big deal out of it. Carl somehow got his pickaxe and went straight to Barley in a rush of anger and embarrassment. If it wasn't for Bull holding back he would have torn the poor bar tender robot into shreds. As Barley quickly hid behind the bar trembling in fear, you and Bull bring him outside to calm down. You told Barley he shouldn't have done a dare like that after that, but after all, he did that for you.

Barley was one of the few robots who knew of your liking for the angry robot. You knew right when you began to spill your feelings for the smaller robot you'd instantly regret it, but you took what just happened quite well. You were too good at hiding things sometimes. Since it was too late to lecture Barley about it you tried to move past it, but what did you expect when you told him? Not to try to set you up with Carl somehow? You trusted people too much with these secrets, but you knew that Barley knew you'd have to tell him sometime about how you feel in sometime of your life. Barley was right about many things and this was one of them.

As you finished putting in your earrings and started putting face powder on your face. You were only going to put a little on. You had to be somewhat dressed up even though this was a "fake" date. You wanted to have some fun with this. Speaking of the date, you heard heavy knocking downstairs at your door, scaring you in the process and dropping your face powder on the ground with an 'ahh'. You sigh in annoyance seeing a bit of the powder now on the rug. Great... you thought as you quickly cleaned up the mess cause of your clumsiness before running downstairs in a rush. When you unlocked the door and opened it to your surprise...

"...Greetings Y/N..."

It was Carl.

The feeling you felt before slowly faded when you looked down at the smaller robot as a noticeable smile grew on your face. You didn't think Carl would dress for the occasion, but it seemed like you weren't the only one wanting to get at least a bit dressed up. He was wearing a white suit with a black coloured bow tie and black shoes. To you he looked like a cute little butler, and the thought of that made you want to giggle, but you held it back as you let Carl in. You were afraid if you laughed or giggled even once he'd throw his pickaxe at you.

"H-Hello Carl, you ready for our date hm?." You teased as you walked toward the kitchen.

You could feel Carl glaring at you as you walked by to get the little dinner you made for yourself and warmed up some oil for Carl earlier. When you got what you needed you headed back to the kitchen table. You see Carl sitting on the left side grumbling to himself. His glare wasn't filled with anger even. It seemed like it was... fear? He seemed nervous, but why over a "fake" date? You were left confused as you approached the table to sit down. You pass over Carl's drink while you began to eat in silence. Yes it was awkward, but you didn't know what to say. Part way through your dinner you pondered the question of asking Carl what was wrong.

"H-Hey Carl?" You ask, putting down your fork. "You alright? You seem nervous. Remember this date was a dare after all, so it's not exactly like a 'real' date." You stated with a laugh, trying to ease the awkward silence a bit.

All Carl did was side eye you as he grumbled some more before sipping down a bit on some of the warm oil. He seemed to like it cause you saw his tensed posture began to loosen. You smile knowing this as you waited for him to answer you. Carl put down his drink before placing his hands on either side of his head, looking down on the table with a long sigh. You don't try to pester him thinking he was figuring out what to say so you leave him be and stayed silent as well.

"Yeah, no, I don't know Y/N. I just wish this didn't go this way at all. Barley had to ruin everything..." Carl admitted with a mutter as he turned his head to look at you with sad eyes.

"What do you mean by 'ruin?'"

Instead of responding Carl got off his chair and made his way to where you were and hugged you. It was unexpected so you tensed up then you relax in his cold metal touch.

"Well Y/N, I wanted to ask you personally on a date for a while. That's why I seemed angry about doing this dare in the first place." Carl said. "A-And I don't even know if you feel the same way I do for you, so take this as you will I guess..."

You were awestruck by his confession, leaning down to leave a kiss on his forehead.

"R-Really? I didn't think you thought of me that way. That's so sweet..."

As you spoke you didn't notice Carl was lifting himself slightly up so he could get closer to your face, specifically your lips. Inch by inch he got closer then finally his face was pressed up to yours. You heard him sigh happily against yours once his were pressed against your lips. Even if he didn't have any you kissed back willingly. The kiss was short but sweet, but memorable as Carl pulled away giggling. You couldn't help but giggle as well as you held him in your arms.

"I... honestly didn't except you to kiss me back ahah..." Carl stated quickly as he put his face on you chest. "A-Also you smell pretty and you're so beautiful. I-I love you Y/N."

You flush from the complements as you smile. You didn't think he was such a sweetheart hidden behind that angry attitude of his.

"Awe thank you sweetie, I love you too! Also you look dashing as ever my little butler." You teased patting his head.

Carl let out a groan when you said that as he gripped your sides feeling embarrassed. God he was too cute.

Well, this "fake" date certainly took a turn that's for sure. You were definitely going to thank Barley later after your guys date with a drink after everything he went through with Carl the day before. He did almost risked his life for you just for this to moment to happen after all. Of course it wasn't just going to be you and Barley, but with your new loving, angry robot boyfriend Carl.

Chapter 5: [Depressed] (Bull) Late-Night Car Drives - ✸ • ❥

Summary:

You notice your husband Bull not acting quite like his usual self, so you start feeling concerned about why he was so distant from you lately, until one night when you come home from a match you see Bull do something he hasn't done for so long. You puzzle the pieces together after that.

(God this is a bad summary but I'm tired asf so yeah)

Chapter Text

The amount of lives I ruined... the amount of people I've killed just for that little bit of money and fame that didn't even matta in the end... How I let Bibi go missing when we were young... Why am I still here with everything I've done? How can I live with myself knowing all this...?

Bull thought as he finished his third bottle of whiskey. Bull cringed feeling the burning sensation in his mouth then down his throat as sulked in bed, his head pounding from the amount of alcohol he drank and his dark past coming back to him.

Why the hell is Y/N still with a person like me...? A murder of all people? She could get hurt cause of me...

Bull held back the urge to cry as his vision blurred, the bottle he was holding dropped on the floor with a thud as he passed out.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇
7 hours later
◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"Bull honey it's me, you asleep?" You whispered, knocking on the door to your guys bedroom lightly.

You just came home from a match. You excepted Bull to come out of no where to bear hug you and spoil you with attention like he usually did. In secret he was a real softy, a real soft cuddly teddy bear of a rugged man he was. You found it to be a privilege in a way as he treated you different from everyone else. Everyone else found him intimidating and unapproachable by his height and demanding voice, but that didn't faze you one bit when you two met. All the brawlers warned you, but you being naïve and stubborn you didn't listen about keeping your distance from the big man. Back then when you were a couple years younger, you were more sarcastic and confident, but now you were more quite yet subtle. With age comes wisdom as well. If you would've met Bull at this age right now, you didn't think you'd ever even think about marrying a man like Bull, but here you were running Bull's restaurant and recently married.

But lately things have been different between the two of you. Bull grew distant as of late, and it's left you wondering if he regretted his choice in marrying you. He's always quite open with you, so that thought terrified you to no end. You began to rub your wedding ring on your four finger to calm your nerves as your heart started to sink in dread. The only way to get this awful thought out of your head was to discuss with Bull about your concerns, but you weren't sure if he was in the mood to deal with something as serious as that right now. Unfortunately for you, you were one of those people that were very attentive and empathetic, so you could feel other peoples emotions easily. Sometimes it's good, while other times it just caused more problems, but you couldn't help it. You cared about people too much, especially for your dear husband. The man you loved more then anything in the world. You've noticed quite quickly the past while that the emotion and atmosphere in the room grew cold and depressive whenever you were around Bull. Him distancing himself from you was a bad sign of depression, you feared.

You didn't hear anything from the other side of the room. No rustling or nothing. You thought he was out with his buds or something so you opened the door without no thought of being quiet. What you saw next when you entered scared you, tears now leaving your eyes. You didn't think Bull would fall back into his bad habits, but here he was surrounded by bottles of whiskey and passed out drunk. You quickly go to try to wake him up to make he was ok.

"Bull wake the fuck up, please wake up!"

After a few more shakes he woke up, his hands gripping your smaller wrists. He looked annoyed when he woke up, but then his vision cleared slightly. He saw it was you with tears dripping down your cheeks. Bull's eyes when from annoyed to feeling painfully ashamed. He let go of your wrists when he tried to sit up, but a surge of pain went through him as he let out a painful groan. You gasp as see him hold his head, quickly running to the kitchen to grab him a glass of water and food to eat. You come back in to see Bull sitting on the side of the bed now, his eyes puffy and red as you hand him the water first.

"Y/N I don't-"

"Don't you 'Y/N' me right now. Drink." You say as you shove the cup of water towards him.

Bull didn't like getting told what to do from nobody, but you were that only exception to that fact. Bull let out a puff of steam from his nose as he grabbed the cup of water from you. He glared at you before drinking all the water in one go, a sigh leaving his lips. Bull shoved the cup into your hand as he grabbed the plate of food from your other hand. Even though it wasn't a full blown meal, he began to eat it anyway. As Bull's gilt grew, he avoided eye contact with you as you sat beside him as he ate a tad quickly. You slap his arm lightly noticing this, leaning over to place the cup on the side table.

"Easy easy, you know what happens when you eat too fast." You mumble before shifting yourself a few more inches away from him.

You didn't feel angry at what he's done, but disappointed. Disappointed in Bull and yourself for not finding out how he's been feeling sooner. You were his wife for god sake! You grip the sheets at the thought, as you looked to the ground seeing the empty bottles of whiskey. The room reeked of alcohol, and it honestly began to make you feel dizzy. You may have been somewhat of a party animal when you were younger, but you realized after a while alcohol affected you worse then others so you went sober, but you weren't going to tell Bull when or when not to drink. He could do what he wanted, but drinking this much was life threatening. You hear the plate Bull was eating off of being put aside on the side table, then you feel Bull inch himself closer to you and you flinch.

"Y/N... I..." Bull slurred as he tried to bring you close to him, but you sit up.

You look at him with teary eyes then you looked away with a sigh. You bring your hands to his redden cheeks, rubbing your thumbs against then softly.

"I don't want to hear it Bull. What's done is done. Nothing can change the past now." You bluntly stated, your hands now leaving his face. "Now lay down and rest. We can discuss this when you're sobered up." You say as you grabbed the cup and plate off the side table and head to the kitchen to wash them up before putting then in the cupboard.

You lean against the sink as you rubbed your temples with your hands. You were at your breaking point at blowing up at Bull, but you tried to calm your nerves before you talked to him anymore. Yelling never helped anyone. As you looked toward your guys bedroom door you see Bull try to walk out, which you run over to him and help him keep himself up.

"Bull what did I say? You're in no state to be walking about right now!" You spat out at your husband. You sounded controlling but you didn't want him walking around and ending up bruising his face if he fell down. You wouldn't be able to carry him either by how heavy he was.

Bull looked down at you with sad eyes, trying to keep his balance as he wobbled back to the bed dragging you along with him in his embrace with no response. You struggle against his grip, but then you realize you couldn't escape a man like Bull, so you gave up. Even though you were fairly tall for a woman as you were up to his shoulder in height, he still overpowered you with his strength. You feel Bull nuzzle your neck and something cold hitting your neck making you flinch.

"I-I'm such a coward Y/N. I-I'm sorry for..."

"Shh..." You hush him as you held him close as he let it all out as he cried. He didn't need to explain a thing as you already understood why he did what he did.

Bull didn't let out another peep as he quickly fell asleep yet again, leaving you in his hold. Even with the smell of alcohol plastering his mouth, you dealt with it as you held him. You grab the blanket from below you and Bull and pull it over the both of you. This was going to be a long, sleepless night for you for sure.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"Y/N... Y/N?"

You heard a muffled voice as you were just waking up, your eyes blinking slowly as you regained consciousness of your body. The bright, morning sun shining into the room making you squint as you covered the sunshine with the blanket with a groan. You hear a chuckle above you as you feel yourself being picked up bridal style and being placed on a lap. You grip the person shirt as you looked up, and it was your husband Bull. You glare at him for holding you like this. It was like when you two were younger. Bull held you like this all the time, and it always made you mad yet embarrassed being held by a big man like him. You place your face onto his chest with a sigh as he holds you bridal style, knowing you couldn't escaped this. Besides, it was a comforting thing to experience in the morning after... last night. Speaking of last night;

"Bull... about last night."

You feel Bull lean down to kiss your forehead before pulling away as he brought you closer to him. "What about it?"

You slap his chest with a sigh. "Oh right... you were plastered."

Bull looked away in shame. No wonder why he found multiple bottles on the ground this morning when he woke up. "Let's talk about this after breakfast sweet thing. My treat."

You shrug, still feeling upset about yesterday, but you couldn't say no to his offer. "Are you sure you're ok to walk-"

"Y/N I'm fine. Just 'a tad headache that's all, now stay here."

Bull put you down on the bed. You started missing him holding you, but you weren't going to say it out load obviously. You were still the same whenever it came to wanting affection, and it seemed like Bull could tell as he leaned down to kiss your lips, but you stop him.

"Bull I haven't even brushed my-"

Bull didn't care as he captured his lips on yours, leaving you vulnerable to his affection. His mouth tasted like shit, but you digressed as you kissed back. You pulled away after the short kiss, rolling your eyes, a chuckle leaving your lips as a hand moved to touch his face. Bull didn't smile too often, but whenever he did it made your heart flutter. The smile seemed genuine as Bull kissed your lips the final time before leaning his forehead against yours.

"Bull is ok alright?" Bull said before standing up, walking to the door. "You don't need to worry so much over a big guy like me." You see Bull thinking for a moment, looking behind him to look at you once last time before he headed out.

"I...I love ya Y/N. Don't forget that." Bull mumbled before heading to the kitchen.

Bull wasn't a words guy, so hearing this from him was rare, but whenever he did it was incredibly special for you. Too bad Bull didn't stay a little longer so you could tell him you loved him too.

"I love you too Bull... my husband." You whispered before getting up, stretching your back.

You sluggishly walked to your dresser to pick out the clothes you were going to wear today. An idea popped into your mind as you picked out what you were going to wear. A nice shower sounded nice and relaxing to you, so you headed towards the bathroom that connected to your and Bull's bedroom. As you turned the shower on and started talking off your clothes, you wondered if it was a good idea to talk about last night to Bull or not, but you were going to worry about it after breakfast. Right now you needed to get your mind off of it.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"I didn't know you were going to shower Y/N. If I woulda known that I woulda join ya." Bull teased, seeing your hair was now damp as you walked out of the bedroom.

You knew he said that just to make you laugh, and it worked as you sat down and blushed. You leaned against your hand as you looked at the outside. It was the usual desert being blown by the wind. Bull's restaurant was located a little ways away from the big city of Retropolis, which brought in lots of customers hungrily eager to eat after a long car drive. Bull might be a bonehead when it comes to somethings, but he sure knew this particular location would bring in customers. A smart marketing decision on his part, you always thought.

Thinking about all that left you daydreaming, which Bull noticed. Bull put down his and your plate of food in their appropriate sides, sitting down. Bull smirked as he admired you, his beautiful wife. After all these years you still captured his heart, even with other woman trying to seduce him, he just... became stuck to you. And it was the same for you. Multiple men have come up to you, but your heart always belonged to Bull, even before you figured out you had feelings for him. You guys went from enemies, to friends, to best friends, and then to lovers.

Your guys lives with each other has been a wild ride, but in the end you had each other no matter what. Bull was still impressed you still wanted to be around him, even wanting to marry him was shocking. He still thought to himself you deserved better after what he's done, but you saw past that after he's changed his was, well... some ways anyway. He didn't think he'd ever break down crying in happy tears when you said yes to being his wife, but he did as everyone watched in awe. Bibi being the sister she was, she cheered the both of them on when that happened. It was embarrassing, but that had to be the happiest day of his life, well one of them anyway. You coming into his life and finding his sister, Bibi, where also other moments he cherished most.

As you were still long in thought, an idea came into mind as you smiled, and Bull noticed, his hand traveling to yours as his fingers glided across your wedding ring.

"What's with the big smile on ya face doll?"

You look down to see his hand on yours, then you look up to meet his eyes, They looked way better now then last night thank god, and less painful you hoped. You felt Bull rub your hand with his, a blush forming on your face. Bull chuckled at this as he began to eat. A simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, and buttered toast. It may have been simple, but damn was he a talented chief. A big plus for you since you loved cooking as much as he did. You move your hand from his as you began to eat as well, only stopping to answer his question.

"Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you yeah?" You said with a smirk. You see Bull stop himself from eating his toast to look at you.

"You know Bull is impatient when it comes to surprises, sweetheart." Bull said before munching on his toast, making you giggle.

"I know, but I promise it will be worth our while. After work I'll show you."

Bull nodded, rolling his eyes, but you could see a little smile on his face when you spoke about a surprise as he continued on eating. You knew he loved surprises, but he wouldn't admit it to anyone but you.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

You sigh as you washed your hands after cleaning up the restaurant. Today was busier then usual as you scurried around helping Bull cook and take orders. Bull should really consider hiring more employees for extra help, and that he should've took the day off cause of his hangover, but of course he was stubborn and said he was fine. You were still on the fence about talking about last night or not, which distracted you most of the day. You were going to tell him after breakfast, but you were too hesitant to do so. As you were thinking about it, you heard the door being opened and a long yawn. You feel big, muscular arms finding themselves around your waist, and a chin being placed on top of your head. The familiar smell of Bull's cologne hit your nostrils as you leaned back onto him, a pleased smile forming on your face.

"Finally it's closing time. Great work as always doll." Bull muffled, his face buried in your hair as he relaxed himself against you. You rolled your eyes at his compliment. He always did more work then you, yet he praised you for the most minimal things you do.

"Bull for god sake, you know what happens when you lean against me like this. I'll fall over like those other times." You said turning the tap off on the sink. "And you damn well know you do more then me. After all these years you should know that by now." You tried to say as Bull leaned down to your neck leaving little pecks, and you couldn't help but giggle as his lips tickled against your skin.

"Bull s-stop." You stuttered against his touch, You could feel him smile against your neck as he began to sway the both of you side to side.

"You know as well as Bull does that you love being praised, and that's why Bull says it." You bite your lip knowing he wasn't lying. He knew you more then anybody as your face and ears flushed a red hue. "Besides what you do for Bull helps me a lot. Don't put yourself down like that."

Even though what he said before got you flustered, your heart swooned when he complimented you. He could make you feel all sort of emotions just like that.

"Hey boss I gotta tell ya-"

You and Bull heard a familiar voice from the door, Bull letting go of you.

"Oh h-hey Y/N, B-Boss, was I interrupting-"

Bull stomped his way to the small bird human hybrid, clenching his fist.

"Get outta here ya stupid bird or-"

"Bull don't." You say, running up between the two of them so Bull wouldn't do anything to Crow. You heard Bull sigh above you, looking down at you as his nose blew steam. You saw he was starting to get pissed, but he would never hurt you.

You hear Crow sigh in relief. You and Crow were good friends, so of course you'd help him out. You turn to face Crow. Even though he's been threatened by Bull many times before he still got scared out of his mind, poor thing. Crow closed his eyes as he headed out of the kitchen area to the front. You sigh, heading out the door not before giving your husband a glare as he followed along. You knew he'd never try to harm his family in any way, but this was a bit over the top you thought. As Crow was about to leave, you shout out;

"Hey wait!" You shout, putting your hands on the bar area. "Crow what is it that you wanted to say?" You asked, still feeling a tad embarrassed. This wasn't the first time you and Bull have been caught cuddling or being affectionate to each other, but out of the two of you, you handled it better then Bull did.

Crow turned around to face you, and he saw Bull from the corner of his eye crossing his arms as he stared him down. His expression and body language was telling him to 'get the fuck out we can talk about this later' vibe. Crow shock his head, waving goodbye to you before heading out the door.

"Ah nothing Boss lady. I'll tell ya both later. Have a good weekend you two, adios love birds." Crow teased, winking at the both of you before he ran for his life away from Bull. You could practically see the red rising up on his face as he was about to chase Crow down.

"You little-"

Before Bull could say another word, you grab his jacket and shove your lips on his to shut him up, and bingo it worked. Bull kissed back quite harsh, his hands finding themselves on your waist. You rolled your eyes as your hand traveled up to his soft, raven hair, you find your fingers getting tangled in it. You hear Bull sigh in the kiss before pulling away, a blush plastering his face as he looked away from you. You smirk seeing him blush, your confidence growing bigger just by seeing him like this. Even thought you guys have been together for a while he still got blushie and embarrassed whenever you took the initiative to show him affection.

"Awe look at my cute tuff Bull blushing." You teased, patting his back.

What Bull did was unexcepted, but he grabbed you and pushed you against the wall harshly. Your eyes widened, seeing that he hasn't done anything like this in sometime now. You bite your lip seeing that you hit a nerve. Bull looked at you before leaning down to your ear. He chuckled against your ear, feeling a grin on his lips.

"Be lucky that I love ya Y/N. You'd be dead meat by now if you were anyone else." Bull said before leaning away, seeing that you were stunned by what he just did. "Anyway let's get going. I'm getting pretty tired." Bull said, a yawn leaving his lips as he grabbed your hand gently and tugged you along.

"But Bull, your surprise!" Bull stopped walking, a light grin appearing on his face.

"Oh... I forgot hehe."

You rolled your eyes at him, grabbing his hand to head upstairs to your guys 'home' "After a shower and some food."

You see Bull grin as you guys headed out. You hoped your plan, aka Bull's 'surprise' would cheer him up somehow.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"Wait, so you're telling me we have to go out somewhere for this 'surprise'."

"W-Well at this point now that I think about it, it's not totally a surprise but-"

"Y/N maybe another time. Bull isn't feeling that great. Maybe anotha time." You nod, feeling slightly disappointed, but he did have to get out sometime this month.

"Bull it's been a while since we've been out, aside from the occasional battle and getting groceries" You mentioned, grabbing his hand. "Besides, it's been a while since we've went on a late night drive and just..."

You lean against him, your emotions seeming to get to you. "Just spending time with ourselves and having fun, you know? I hate seeing you all cooped up at home like this..."

No response came from Bull as he continued watching T.V, cueing he didn't change his mind after what he said. You sit up, letting go of his hand. "Just let me know if you ever change your mind ok? I'll be in the bedroom. Goodnight honey." You whispered, leaning down to leave a kiss on his cheek before you left him be.

When you were out of the room, Bull let out a huff. He started feeling bad now, but he had a lot on his mind again. His past. Bull began to have the urge to binge drink again, but earlier he started to remember the events that happened the night before, how worried you were and took care of him, so he tried to ignore the urge. Bull knew you were only trying to cheer him up, and that's why he loved you so much, but he didn't want to burden you yet again with his past. You had a lot deal with so much already, even though Bull was aware he had to tell you sometime or else a moment like last night would happen more frequently.

Fuck it Bull thought as he sat up. He hated seeing you like this as he walked to your guys bedroom. Bull opened the door to see you on the phone with someone.

"Oh, uh Rosa could you give me a minute?"

"Of course!"

You held the phone to your collar bone and looked at Bull.

"Hey what's-"

"Let's get going. I changed my mind."

Bull seeing you get excited when you saw he changed his mind was... oddly cute, even at your guys age you were still precious in his eyes. He couldn't help but smile a little.

"Oh- I-" You stutter before moving your phone to your ear, your smile practically sparking. "I got to go Rosa, Bull changed his mind I'll talk to you later!"

"How sweet, Have a fun time love birds!"

"S-Shush we will, bye-"

You end the phone call, quickly getting up to throw yourself at Bull, but of course it didn't throw him off any as he hugged you back. You pull away by a bit with the biggest smile on your face.

"Just let me get one thing before we go! I'll meet you outside." You said quickly before heading to your guys closet. Bull chuckled at your enthusiasm as he made his way outside to his car.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"Took ya long enough."

"It wasn't that long, now let me drive-"

"There's no way I'm letting ya-"

"You have before Bull, and you wouldn't even know where to go anyway if you drove."

Bull gripped the wheel of his vehicle, getting out with a huff. "Fine, but if you dare leave a scratch on her I'll-" You walked to the other side of his car to Bull, standing on your tippy toes by a tad to leave a peck on his lips, which caught him off guard, stopping him mid sentence stunned as you got in the drivers side. You see Bull hands turn into a fist, making you hold back a laugh.

"STOP DOING THAT-"

"Oh be quiet. You know you love it, now get in." You teased, patting the side of the car. Bull complied, grumbling to himself as he got on the passenger side, knowing you were right.

With that you press on the brake and turn the key to start the car, a purr coming out of it. Bull's car was still running like new. He really treated it like his treasure (of course you too, but that ain't the point.)

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

You and Bull's drive was... a tad awkward. You sensed Bull wanted to tell you something, seeing how every time he wanted you ask you something he scratched his cheek. It took you a bit bit to pick up on signs like that, but it got easier as you got older. You then clear your throat, catching Bull's attention.

"So... I have a feeling there's something you want to talk about?"

You waited patiently for him to answer as you continued driving. It was a calm night and with perfect weather. It reminded you of that night Bull confessed to you years ago. You smile at the thought, seeing from the corner of your eye Bull was looking at you. "Well... no."

"You don't sound so sure honey. It's got to be something. Talk to me I'm here to listen every time." You say, concern coving your voice as your hand found his, gripping it lightly.

Bull hesitated, but nodded. He couldn't keep this in forever, especially from you, his entire life. You then felt Bull grip your hand, his fingers messing with your wedding ring as he let out a sigh. He took his time before he spoke, watching the environment around him as you continued driving down the highway.

"Bull just... doesn't like burdening you with his problems you know? And it's things Bull told ya already." Bull explained, unsure if he should continue. All you do is let out a hum.

"Go on. It doesn't matter if it's things you told me already. By the sounds of things, it's still bothering you if it's making you... depressed... and drink heavily again."

Bull could hear you holding back a voice crack as you continued drinking. He didn't think it was a good idea to talk about this while you drove. "Let's talk about it when you take us to wherever you're taking us. Bull can see it's upsetting ya."

You wanted to argue about it, but Bull wouldn't talk till you got there, so you nod as you continued having a watchful eye on the road.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

After a while of driving you two make it out on the outskirts of Retropolis and to your destination, and Bull seemed to recognize the area you two where in.

"Wait... this is." Bull paused looking around. You on the other hand find a place to park before shutting everything off. It was a view of the whole city of Retropolis, the place where Bull confessed to you many years ago when you were younger.

"Why are we here? What is all this?" Bull asked, and all you do is smirk as you turn around to get something from the back. You pull out a bag of goodies and music tapes. Bull's favourite music tapes. You hear him gasp as you hand him the bags so you could get the tapes. You put them between the empathy space of the car seats before pulling your chair back to relax.

"Well..." You began. "I miss this place, and I've been thinking about coming here again for a while. Brings back good memories and relax, you know?" You say, reaching for the bag Bull was holding to grab a chocolate bar. "And I thought I'd cheer you up, I mean, this was our usual hang out spot when we were young after all."

Bull nodded, putting the bag of goodies between the two of you. He was speechless as he began to tear up. "Bull?" You asked, lifting your chair back up so you could sit straight. Bull didn't notice he was crying till he heard you say his name. He tried to look away from you, but you held his face in your hands. "Honey-"

Bull cut you off as he pulled you close to him, mashing his lips to yours with all his might into a passionate kiss. Bull was freaking out right now at how grateful he had to have you, and how the past few days have went for the two of you, he knew now you were truly the only one for him. Bull knew now he made the right choice in marrying you after everything that had happened between the both of you. You happily kiss him back with the same amount of passion for the man, pulling him closer to you by his hair.

You both pull away to breathe, both of you feeling breathless. You chuckle as you wiped Bull's remaining tears off his cheeks. Bull tilted his head so he could kiss your palm as you starred in awe. This is the most venerable Bull has ever been in front of you, so you knew right there that what he was keeping inside was quite serious. After Bull calmed himself down, for the first time you've known him, he looked... at peace.

"Y/N?" Bull asked with a sniffle.

"Y-Yes?"

As Bull prepared himself to let all of his worries out to you, he patted his leg. You grow confused on what he wanted until he practically dragged you to lay on him, his arms securely around you. You felt like you were covered in a blanket in his hold, patting his chest lightly. Once Bull got comfortable he explained about how his past was coming back to haunt him, and that's what lead him to drink to try to drown the thoughts out of his head. All you do is nod as you continued to listen. You knew he wasn't the man anymore that you met those many years ago, but he's changed for the better more ways then none. Bull explained of all his guilt as he held you while holding onto like you'd disappear any minute out of his arms.

"Oh Bull..." You mumbled against his chest, your hand finding it's way to his cheek. "You know you're a better man now then you once were. I know you fear you'll go back to that phase in your life, but I've seen so much good change in you I don't think that's possible."

You feel Bull rub your back for comfort as he sighed. "Bull knows, but he's afraid..."

"Don't be. Your family and I will be here for you every step of the way. I know things won't be totally ok at first, but with your friends and my support I surely know you'll feel better eventually. I love you Bull. There's a reason why I wanted to marry you after all. I've always seen the good in you despite what you've done."

You hear Bull chuckle as he left a kiss on the top of your head as he cradled you in his hold. "You've always had such a way with words Y/N, but wow, Bull just can't believe he has someone like ya. Thank ya doll face. Bull loves ya too, and same with ya. Bull will be willing to listen to whatever is bothering you."

"Why thank you, I try, and I appreciate that..." You chuckled, feeling yourself relax in his hold as you began to feel sleepy.

Those were the last few words you exchanged with the love of your life as you both enjoyed each others presence and warmth both of you provided for each other. Even though people couldn't see this real kind side of Bull (excepting Bibi to a certain extent,) You knew Bull had a kind heart behind his rugged demeanor all along, but it was just hard to spot for most people. You were just one of the lucky ones to see it somehow.

As you watched the sunset go down with Bull, you see some of the stars start peaking out in the darkness of the night. This moment was honestly another life changing event for the both of you. Just because of this, you both felt you grew closer to one another. You knew you had each others backs no matter what, and no matter what you've guys have done in the past. It doesn't define you unless you let it to continuously affect you and your lively hood.

Chapter 6: (Darryl) Exploration - ❥ [Request]

Chapter Text

"Alright Y/N. You sure you got everything on the ship?" You look towards Darryl, slinging one of your bags over your shoulder. "Of course I do." You responded, feeling confident that you have, and you certainly haven't forgotten anything. Not at all.

"Are you positive?" Darryl asks, putting a box onto the ship. "Are you absolutely positive?" You gave Darryl a look of annoyance, slapping his barrel body lightly. "Yes I have."

Darryl's expression went from cheerful to a monotone look, shaking his head at you. He then turned around, getting into his barrel form spinning towards the shore, leaving you confused.

"Darryl where are you going?! Hey!" You yell, cupping your hands around your mouth. You sighed, feeling dumb for even thinking he'd listen to you from that far, and that he'd respond to you. You decided to then sit down on the dock as you waited for him.

Some time passed before he came back, he had a few more bags of yours when his body popped out of his barrel body. You saw him have a now sarcastic look on his face, making you roll your eyes.

"I knew you forgotten a bag." Darryl said sarcastically, looking at the two bags. "Or should I say two bags!" Darryl exclaimed, well knowing you usually forget a few things sometimes. This wasn't the first time this has happened. He knew you too too well.

"Yeah yeah ok. I'm pretty sure those are the last few bags." You explain, running towards the plank of the ship "Let's get going already though! I'm too excited to wait any longer." Darryl's eye squinted at you, showing that he seemed happy as he trolled along to you. You were always so cute when you got excited. It affected him in a good way. He can't help but be as jolly and happy as you!

"Of course! Everyone else is ready to go and are ok the ship." Darryl says, walking up the plank. You follow suit, leaning down to hug your friend after you two got on board. His body jumped at the gesture as his barrel body bouncing a little. "I'm so so happy you invited me along again. You didn't have to though" You were cut off by Darryl as he turned around, dropping your bags, and hugged you bag.

"Aye, It's the least I can do for my most favourite member of my crew." Darryl says bashfully. You didn't think he meant it, but he truly did. Darryl then leaned up close to your ear, making you tense up. "Don't tell anyone I said that. Especially Penny. She'll get extremely upset." Darryl whispered. He was clearly joking, so you didn't take any offence to it that he said something like that.

"Oh shush, now let's get this ship moving, yar!" You say letting go of him, pumping your fist up in the air.

Darryl's arms dangled in front of him, leaning toward, feeling himself cringe, but at the same time he thought it was cute. He slapped a hand on his face, chuckling to himself.

"You still need to work on that Y/N, now let's head up to the front!" Darryl began walking towards the ships wheel. You grabbed your bags and started following him. You then remembered you should put your bags away so they won't be in anyone's way. Or the worst thing that could happen would be your bags getting knocked off the ship somehow. That's something you wanted to avoid. You then change directions to head to the door that goes to the bottom of the ship.

"I'll catch you later Darryl I got to put these bags away. See you in a bit!" You say before heading downstairs. Darryl was a tad disappointed. It was more fun starting adventures when you were with him, but never the less he had a job to do. "Ay!" Darryl replied, walking up the stairs.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"Wow it's so beautiful here Darryl, but this location isn't quite familiar to me. We're heading somewhere new aren't we?" You ask, lowering your binoculars, looking beside you to look at Darryl. He chuckled at you, pulling you close to him by your waist.

"Aye Ay Y/N. It's a surprise!" Darryl says, his singular eye locking onto the see. You two were at the poop deck while Penny was taking control of the ship. Tick was at the top looking around to see if he could see anything. You were about to ask where you guys were heading, but Darryl beat you to it.

"Don't ask were we're heading! That's the point of a surprise is for you to not know." Darryl joked as his body shock as he chuckled. You pout at him as he laughed at you, feeling your cheeks darken. "I'm just impatient ok?" You say, sticking your tongue out at him. During your little moment with Darryl, you guys heard Tick make a frantic noise, making you guys look up at him.

"What is it Tick?" You ask, seeing why he was freaking out so much. Tick looked down at the two of you, pointing his cannon... hand things in front of him. You turned around, quickly moving your binoculars in front of your eyes to see what he was looking at, and then you saw it. Sarada. You were heading to a city called Sarada for your vacation. A place you've always wanted to visit for the longest time.

You put down your binoculars from your eyes in shock, your mouth slightly opened. Darryl couldn't help but chuckle more at your expression, rubbing his robotic arm with his claw. You looked down at him in shock, quickly crouching  down to put your binoculars to the side. You slowly moved your hands to Darryl's shoulders, then quickly grabbed them to shake him a little.

"Darryl- I- what- how did you know?!" You stuttered, feeling your heart beat against your chest. Darryl moved his claws to your wrists lightly, looking to the side. "W-Well aye little parrot told me you've always wanted to come here, and well..." Darryl went on, but stopped cause he started feeling his whole body start heating up. Your expression and how happy you were was making him happy but embarrassed.

"Land ayo captain!" Penny shouted out, making you guys snap out of yet another sweet moment. Darryl let go of you, quickly trotting to the ships wheel.

"Excellent! Get ready to anchor Penny. Tick get the plank ready to be pulled down!" Darryl commanded, putting his claw up in the air. "Aye!" Penny replied, running down towards the anchor. Tick made a happy noise, indicating he heard him well, sliding himself down the rope.

You honestly found it adorable how everyone worked together. You sort of felt out of place because of it. Before Darryl made it any further to the ship's wheel, he stopped and turned around to face you, pointing at you.

"As for you Y/N." Darryl paused, his singular eye went left then right quickly. It was shaking slightly. "Do anything you want!" Darryl said quickly before running off to the ship's wheel, making you giggle. You found his behaviour odd, but it was cute.

"Aye ie captain!" You giggled, walking towards the door to the bottom of the ship.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

Darryl and his crew (including you of course) decided to stay for five weeks, and oh lord did you buy too much already. Everything you saw was just a fever dream of beauty. You just had to buy things there. The clothes, the culture, the food, and the people were just a pure joy to experience. Experiencing it all with your closest friends added to that factor as well. It was honestly a good ass vacation so far. You bought some souvenirs for some friends back home, including for yourself.

You guys were approaching your time to leave soon, which was in three days. Yes it was disappointing cause you loved this city so much, but you had a home to back to, including your family of brawlers. The rest of them were enjoying their vacations too, but of course they all went elsewhere to different places. You couldn't wait to see them all again. They were the family you never had.

Thinking about it all made you smile honestly, moving to Brawllage was the best thing you've ever done for yourself and your mental health. You're the best you you've ever been, as crazy as that sounds. Especially meeting Darryl and his crew was such a treat for you. You were more close to them they any other group of brawlers, especially Darryl. You two played off each other so perfectly it seemed unreal, but it wasn't. Your guys friendship was real, including a festering crush on your dear friend. It wasn't taboo around were you lived now for a human and a robot to date, but you still had a hesitant thought about it. You weren't even sure how Darryl felt about it either. You were too nervous to ever ask him about it cause he might get the hint you like him, or find you weird.

Now shoving that thought in the back of your mind, you let the wind of the sea blow against your skin, closing your eyes as it calmed you. After a moment you felt better. The ocean has always calmed you no matter where you were. As scary as it was, it was beautiful yet dangerous. That's what fascinated you so much about it, even Darryl agreed to it. That's how you guys connected so well the first time you met him. You still remember that fond memory, giggling to yourself before heading down to your room. He was so cheerful and friendly. Of course he's toned down once you got to know him better, but still cheerful yet joyful.

You yawned as you walked down the hallway, heading to your room. You stretched your arms as you made your way there. As you were about to open the door, you felt yourself stop in the spot. Your hand was on the handle, but something was holding you back. You had a feeling you should see Darryl, but you didn't know why. He was probably busy doing things by now, so you tried to think about something else, but your gut was telling you to go. You groaned in frustration, feeling annoyed with yourself and your heart not shutting the fuck up. You start heading towards Darryl's captains quarters in a huff, feeling a blush crawl up your face.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

You made it to Darryl's quarters, but you hesitate to knock on the door. Your fingers trembling. You knew why you were nervous, but it was annoying you. You never had a problem like this until now.

Ok I'm going to knock on the count of three. One, two, three-

As you were about to knock, the door opened slightly. You stood there awkwardly with your fist up and your eyes closed. You opened one of your eyes to see Darryl looking up at you, seeming surprised. He chuckled seeing your position though.

"A-Aye Y/N. I wasn't expecting you." Darryl said, looking away shyly. He seemed to be... nervous? He also looked a bit troubled, making you worry. You drop your hand to the side, thinking you interrupted him with something. He wasn't his normal, cherry self so you knew something was wrong.

"Y-Yeah. Hey Darryl. Is this a good time or am I bothering you?" You ask, running your arm. Darryl closed his eye, grilling the door handle. You kept quiet, seeing as he was thinking hard about something. You hoped nothing was horribly wrong. After some time, Darryl opened his eye slowly, still looking at the wooden planks that formed the floor. You heard him sigh as his robotic pupil looked at you.

"No not at all! I..." Darryl paused, opening the door fully, walking to the side to let you in, extending his arm. "I was actually going to come talk to you, but I thought you went to sleep already, so I didn't. I'm glad you're here. Come in." Darryl said in what seemed like a whisper. You do as he says, feeling an odd sadness in the room.

Darryl closes the door after you come in. He leans down before standing straight again, shifting his body to look at you. He walks up to you to grab your hand, dragging you to his bed. You sit down beside him, not used to this type of atmosphere.

"What's been wrong Darryl?" You ask curiously, hovering your hand over his claw. "Did someone steal your gold again?" You hear Darryl chuckle, shaking his head. "Nay. It's something else lassy."

You nod, not pressuring to tell you. In time you saw him sink his whole body into his barrel body. You let out a huff cause of how he grew quiet and stubborn, but you didn't bother him with it. You waited a bit before he told you what's been on his mind. His head eventually lifts up a bit out of body, only being able to see his eye.

"Y/N." You look down at him, feeling your heart grow heavy out of no where. "Yes Darryl?" You ask, genuinely feeling concerned for your friend. He looks else where but you for a bit, then he makes eye contact with you. You felt like the whole world stopped after that, feeling your heart beat against your chest faster.

"This whole vacation made me realize a lot of things." Darryl admits. His arms come out of his body as his claws touch each other. You tilt your head, of course feeling confused by what he said.

"Like what Darryl?" You say, feeling genuinely curious as to why. You see Darryl shake a bit before he had the courage to continue speaking.

"Well, um, my feelings for you. As crazy as that sounds, I can't help but feel this way around you. I'm just afraid you don't feel the same." Darryl admits, his body shaking more as he admits his feelings for you.

Your heart began to hurt as it beated faster against your chest. You use your other hand to place it where it was, feeling overwhelmed and shocked about what you just heard. You were about to reply, but Darryl continued. "Think about it, a robot dating a-"

You stop his blabbering by hugging him, a giant smile now plastered on your face. What a joy this night was. You held him as close and tightly as you ever could, expressing to him you loved him too.

"I... I felt the same way. Truly I do. And who cares that you're a robot and I'm human. I love you!" You admit, hiding your face on his barrel body. It was becoming more harder to breathe the more you talked.

Darryl's head popped out more of his barrel body to hug you back, never letting you go. You two stayed in that position for a while then you felt something heating up, and it wasn't coming from your body. It was coming from Darryl's. You let go of him, seeing steam coming from his body. You instantly panicked, not knowing how to stop him from overheating up. You saw his pupil form into a heart after he started heating up.

"D-Darryl you're heating up!" You tell him, but Darryl seemed to be dazed out. You grab his shoulders and shake him lightly. You grow flustered knowing you most likely caused a malfunction within him. It was adorable, but at the same time worrisome. "Darryl snap out of it-"

Darryl didn't say anything but blinked slowly, looking up at you. The visible, beating heart still remaining in his pupil. It seemed to beat faster and grow bigger as he looked into your eyes. He tiled his head at you, moving his claws to your back.

"You... love me?"

If Darryl had a mouth, oh boy he'd had the brightest smile on his face right now (and a completely red face) He moved his face closer yours as he pulled you closer to him. You gasp, but accept the gesture. His voice sounded slightly glitched, which you found it cute that he was just as embarrassed as you.

"Y-Yes I do."

Darryl's eyes squinted at you before he moved his face to yours, closing his eye. You felt all warm and fuzzy, not being able to control yourself anymore. You wrap your arms around his body fully now, enjoying the moment. You guys stay in that position for a while, not saying a words. No words were needed though as you two already confessed to one another already. The physical touch explained more then words too. After a bit, Darryl pulls away from you, his eye shifting towards the clock. He opens his eye slowly, his heart-shaped pupil now returning to normal size.

"It's getting late Y/N. You should rest aye?" Darryl mentioned, letting go of you. You didn't want him to let go or leave him, but he was right. You gaze looked towards the clock, then back to Darryl. You sit up before lifting his hat, kissing his metal head.

"Have a Goodnight Darryl. I love you." You mumble against his head, pulling away slowly. You gaze into his eye lovingly, sensing he felt the same way of not wanting to leave you. His claw now rubbing your face.

"I... love you too lass." Darryl replied back, not a single ounce of hesitation from his voice box. Hearing him say he loved you did things to you. Your heart couldn't take this much amount of love from this pirate robot. This moment was extremely wholesome for you two, but it had to end unfortunately.

You smiled against his claw, but pulled yourself away from him. You walked towards the door, Darryl following behind you. You head outside his room, only to turn around to kiss his metal forehead again with a smile quickly before running to your room with a flustered robot behind you.

"Y/N!" You hear Darryl stutter out in a shout, laughing to yourself. You felt weightless somehow as you ran down the hallway to your room, now missing Darryl's touch. You made it to your room, closing the door behind you. You held a hand over your heart before heading to the bathroom to get ready for bed.

Now that you had Darryl, your brawler family, and a better mindset, you'd say you now have a perfect life. Yes sometimes things got complicated and have their problems, but with Darryl by your side now as your new love, you felt like you can challenge anything from now on.

Chapter Text

 (Authors Point Of View)

"I hate when people show off their girlfriends and boyfriends. Why can't they just keep to themself's? Bet their trying to make every single person out there jealous.." You thought to yourself

You saw a rather "egotistical couple" showing off in Barley's bar. It was a rather uncomfortable thing to see mind you.

That's when your mind began to ponder....

You could tell the couple both deeply loved each other under those disgusting attitudes of theirs. Even the worst people can find love. What a miracle, you thought. You gripped on your cup lightly as you began to think.

"What is it like to have another half? What is it like to feel needed and loved? What is it like.... to be held and caressed?"

Your eyes began to water at your dumb thoughts. You felt like you were being pity, a cry baby. You DID have people that loved you, but as a friend of course. You just didn't have anyone that "loved" loved you. You never been the one for relationships. You've been mostly single all your life. But recently, you've been craving human touch. Any kind of touch. Any type of attention.

You felt dumb for letting this get to you so much. God you felt like you were being a bit over-dramatic. You wiped your eyes lightly and proceeded to pay for your drink. You said your goodbyes before you headed out the door to home.

               •┈┈┈••✦💞✦••┈┈┈•

You got home around 7 P.M, feeling sad and lonely as ever. Once you fell onto your bed, you had the sudden urge to hold something in your arms. You sighed and grabbed a near-by pillow and nuzzled it, making your mind feel somewhat at ease.

Your mind started to wonder once again however, thinking about what it would be like to cuddle with someone. Your cheeks turned red at the thought of your best friend, Darryl, cuddling with you. You've known him for as long as has you've been living in Brawl Town. You two were called "the perfect duo" in Brawl Town. You guys always teamed for duos and dominated in 3vs3 matches.

Recently, you've began to grow feelings for your robot friend the past few months and you've been ignoring him a bit because of it. You know it's a childish thing to do, but you're just afraid you'll embarrass yourself in front of him and your entire years of friendship would be broken to pieces.

You don't know how to cope with your new found feelings at all. Your parents  never explained this type of stuff to you at a young age. If only you were brave enough to trust the gang with your feelings. You would ask them for any type of advice, but your trust issues said otherwise.

You frowned at your thoughts as you struggled to sleep that night, thinking your new-found crave was just you pitty pottying for attention. You felt awful.

               •┈┈┈••✦💞✦••┈┈┈•

The next morning, you woke up feeling grumpy, sad, and no. You weren't getting your period.

You felt confused and lonely through out your day. From cooking breakfast and to brushing your teeth. Your mind was filled to the brim of countless thoughts. Your mind wouldn't shut up.

Today's battles got a bit messy as well. You missed shots and kept dying countless times. You lost most of your games, and most of the brawlers took notice of this right away. Most of them were ticked off about this, while others felt sympathetic towards you, thinking maybe you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Bull made the mistake of joking about your behaviour. It earned him a purple eye form you and a hurt ego.

After that insistant happened, The girl Brawlers 100% assumed that you were on your period, but soon realized it was something else they couldn't put their fingers on. Rosa tried to calm you down with a hug, which you pushed her away quickly and said you were fine and left the Brawler Arena in a rush. Rosa was sceptical of that action. You never been that quick to reject a hug like that.

The girls all shock their heads and decided to leave you alone. Hell, after what happened to Bull, the male brawlers were kind of scared of what you'd do if they tried saying anything. Except for one.

Darryl.

He had high concerns for you. You didn't  talk to him in few weeks, never texted him, never invited him to hang out. He was contemplating that he was the reason why you was like this. Maybe he did something wrong that triggered whatever was happening. Maybe he didn't do good enough for you, but his robotic heart said otherwise.

He loved you dearly. He saw you as his best friend and his love. He always tried to put a smile on your face by acting all goofy when he can. He did whatever he could for you. He loved every bit of you. If only he could tell you all this directly if he had the ability to speak.

Even if that's the case, he can still sign and use body language to express it. Darryl thought it was not the right time to express his love for you in your current state. Instead, he wanted to show you that he was there for you, and you could tell him your worry's so the stress would be off your shoulders. And that was exactly what he was going to do, even if he was risking of losing you entirely as a friend.

            •┈┈┈••✦💞✦••┈┈┈•

Darryl set out looking for you, not caring what the other Brawlers were telling him. You needed someone to talk to, and he was determined to make you feel better. He didn't want to continuously see you suffering like this. It hurt his beety little robot heart.

Darryl checked everywhere you could possibly be. His last option was your house. Darryl trotted to your front door step, stood on his tippy toes and hesitantly pushes the door bell and stepped back. He had a bag full of your favourite snacks in one hand and your favourite flowers in his other one. This might be his final time seeing you, and ever talking to you again. But he would risk everything for you, and only you.

As he waited, he grew worried. You would usually open the door right away, but not this time. Maybe you were out somewhere else, he thought. He continued waiting patiently before the door was opened slowly by you, only leaving a small crack for you to see Darryl. Darryl could see that you've been crying. Darryl dropped the flowers and the bag, quickly signing at you.

"Y/N, you've been crying. What's going on?! Please tell me."

You sniff and slowly open the door to reveal you looking like a mess. Your hair was messed up and your eyes were full of tears. Darryls barrel body shakes ups at the sight of your current state. He rushed to you and pulled you into an emendate embrace.

"D-Darryl l-let go of me!-" You spit out harshly as you tried to push Darryl away from his hug. He only pulled you closer to him and held you.

You stiffen up and shake as he continued to hug you, but eventually, you slowly melting into it. You wrap your arms around Darrlys neck rather lazily and laid your head against his barrel body.

Darryl pulled away from you after a while, only to be pulled back into your embrace with a quiet whine.

Darryls mind clicked at this moment, finally understanding what's been the problem this whole time.

You were touched-starved. Very touched-starved.

Darryls robotic heart beated hard against his chest as he held you. You were so warm, so soft against his cold metal body. He loved every bit of it. He heard you sigh happily as you pulled him away from the embrace and wiped your tears.

"...Please come inside D-Darryl..." you managed to say with your scratched-up voice. "N-No more hiding...I got some explaining to do."

Darryl felt himself warming up as he  grabbed your gifts before heading inside towards the living room. You closed the door and walked back to Darryl, to see him showing you the bouquet of flowers he got you while looking away. Your heart flipped as you hesitantly grabbed the flowers.

"T-Thank you D-Darryl. Y-You are truly..." you stutter out, looking away from him while blushing.

"Adorable and precious to me." You tug a piece of your hair behind your ear, placing the flowers down gently on the side table before approaching him.

Darryls beedy eye started shaking in nervousness as you approached him.

You lifted his hat and kissed his metal head with a smile.

"T-Thank you for caring so much for a person like me Darryl. I wish I've said this sooner. I've been such an ass towards everyone, including you. I-I don't deserve all this I-" You stuttered out as you began your apology, only to be stopped by Darryl dropping the bag and pulling your face towards his, only a few inches apart from were his lips would be.

You squeaked at this gesture. You felt like you were about to pass out. Your best friend was holding you like you were a precious gem. You loved his touch, his attention. It made you feel dizzy in a good way.

Your mouth began to form a loving  smile as you lean against his touch, putting your hands on top of his claw like hands. You peck his left claw and closed your eyes in bliss.

If Darryl has the ability to smile he would at this moment. You looked so beautiful, adorable. You were so wonderful to his singular eye. Darryl started rubbing your cheeks lightly  while tilting his head to the side, standing up on his tipy toes, and brought his face towards yours to kiss you.

You felt yourself tearing up again as you accepted his kiss. He loved you like you loved him. You felt so loved, so happy for the first time in weeks. You felt like your heart was going to explode from the amount of love and happiness you felt inside.

You both pull away slowly, still holding onto each other. No words where exchanged, there didn't need to be. Body language and the looks you both gave were all you needed to understand what you both felt towards eachother. You slowly lean your forehead towards Darryls head and whispered.

"I-I love you D-Darryl."

Darryl leaned back from you and shakily signed.

"Love you too Y/N. You truly make me feel like I'm an actual human being. You're everything to me."

Darryls eye squinted upwards as he lifted the bags of goodies he got you.

"That reminds me. I bought you snacks. I know I bought too much but-"

You held a hand to your heart and grabbed his hand to lead him into your bedroom and shut the door. Your smile turned into a grin as you grab the bag of goodies out of Darryls hand and moved his hat again to kiss his head again.

"You're such a sweetheart Darryl. Thank you for these! But before I chow down on these, let's cuddle!" You shout in excitement as you put the bag of snacks to the side.

You pushed Darryl onto your bed to shower him with loving kisses, which he gladly accepted. His body shock up and down showing that he was giggling/laughing. Darryl slowly dragged his claw into your hair, which made you stop your shower of kisses and you let out a sighed happily against his claw.

You snuggle into Darryl as he plays with your hair. You two spent the rest of the day together. From eating snacks to cuddling. You were slowly but surely going to tell everyone about you two, but for now, all you needed right now was your adorable lover and your snacks.

Chapter Text

"That will be 150 coins please. Have a good day sir."

The red-headed stranger looked up and you with a wink, putting down the bag of coins beside his purchased item and pushed it towards you

"You too sweet cheeks. See ya later."

With that he headed out with his new spell book you helped him find. Thank god everything went well and he didn't treat you like shit. You still didn't know why some customers thought they were so untiled they can just abuse workers just cause they could? Oh right workers can't talk back or else they got fired and it's their fault. It's complete bullshit that abuse was still allowed like that, but it is what it is. Hearing many stories about a couple friends of yours telling you about their experiences working in retail made you anxious working here at the workshop at first. You didn't take getting insulted from random strangers too well after all knowing you'd automatically cry. It was just an instant trigger to you and you had no idea why, but luckily for you nothing like that has happened yet. After all you were working with your two friends that you'd consider knuckle heads, Edgar and Collette. It was frustrating dealing with both of them sometimes, but in the end it was all good and very chill. Your boss on the other hand was more hard to deal with though, but you managed with what you had.

You didn't notice, but your friend Edgar eyed the guy out when he left the store. He was doing this again it seemed. At least he didn't threat the guy like he's done with every male customer that's flirted or tried to ask you out the past couple weeks. You saw Edgar grip his arms that were crossed, tilting his head down and looked down at the floor. The past couple weeks since you've been working here Edgar has been acting... odd. Odd in a usual since that he wasn't himself. He was still the same edgy kid you've come to know, but he seemed more hostile towards customers that were male when it came to you. While he's doing that to you, he doesn't even care if guys flirt with Collette at all. You thought he had a crush on her cause he told you long ago one night, but maybe something happened between them? Regardless it wasn't your business, but still, why was he being so jealous of other guys for when it came to you? You were so confused of the mixed signals.

The thought of it hurt your brain, so you brushed the thought to the side. When you saw no one else was coming in, you take that time to stretch your back as you were hunched over for a little too long. You then let out a yawn as you felt the dreariness of sleep take over your body. You grab a nearby chair and sit down, a sigh escaping your lips. As you yawned you feel something tap your knee and then a familiar voice shouted below you.

"Y/N there's no time to sleep on the job you know!"

You jump and freak out, wondering how long Colette was under the table for. You never noticed her there somehow till now, neither did Edgar it seemed cause he flinched, pulling the scarf over his mouth more as he looked away not saying a word. Damn she's sneaky  you thought as you began dragging her out of her hiding place by her long sleeve, rolling your eyes at her. As you pulled her out from under the table she hugged her book closer to her, seeming a bit fidgety more this time around making you wonder why. You promised her from the beginning, and even now you'd never touch it. You had no interest... in her particular likings. You then lean back in the chair you were sitting in, now looking at the ceiling.

"First of all, you scared the hell out of me, two I'm not sleeping or going to sleep at work, that's just silly. I'm just very tired all of a sudden that's all." You explained as you raised a finger up then put it down as you got up to grab the duster duster from the shelf behind you.

The place was beyond dusty for whatever reason. No matter how much this place was cleaned spotless it always got dirty the next day. This workshop was indeed cursed somehow. With the thought in mind, you began to dust the place anyway cause you were bored, and to distract yourself by the thought and mention of sleep. You didn't want to end up passing out somewhere during work. Your boss wouldn't be too happy you could imagine.

As you began your dusting you still felt eyes on you, and you knew who's eyes they were. You side-eyed Collette, and yep she was still starring at you. Her whole personality was to be weird and somewhat stalker-ish, but this was really one of the first times she's every just bluntly stared at you for no reason without saying a word. You stop with what you were doing, closing your eyes as you lean against the front counter.

"Something you got to say Collette?" You ask her bluntly, now opening your eyes rather droopy.

You saw from the side of your eye that a toothy grin rose on her face as she began to giggled. She then lifted her scrapbook above her mouth, her eyes squinting in glee with a blush on her face. She seemed happier then usual and you had no idea why. Before she ran off she pointed her head towards Edgar, winking at you as she ran away giggling some more. This left you utterly confused. What the hell was she trying to tell you?

"What the utter hell was that?" You mumble to yourself while rubbing your forehead.

You hear Edgar let out a depressive sigh, side-eyeing you from within his scarf. You weren't sure if it was just the light or temperature of the room, but you saw a small blush on his face. "No idea. Don't care."

Your eyes squinted from his blunt response. You really thought he was going through some sort of man period cause damn he sounded so moody right now.

"Understandable." You respond with the same tone, not knowing sure on what to say next.

It sounded like Edgar wasn't interested in talking or being around anyone in general right now, so you left him be for now. Something must have happened that he hasn't told you yet. It concerned you cause he usually told you everything that was on his mind. He didn't trust Collette with that type of stuff cause she was known to spread rumors, and that she wasn't good at keeping secrets. So why was he acting so distant from you today? It's not like you did anything to him. You two have barley spoke for the past week or two, and it hurt you really. You really like Edgar, well loved, but saying that was a bit too much. You don't even know if Edgar even thought of you like that.

Even with your heart hurting your mind drifted off thinking about how nice it would be to be home right now after work and what you'd do once you were home. A nice bath, dinner, then relaxing in bed maybe. That sounded like heaven to you right now. Thinking about the bliss lead you to think about Edgar out of the blue. A light noticeable smile rose on your face and it seemed like Edgar noticed. You saw him lift his scarf further down on his face, his face unexplainable. You couldn't tell what he was feeling, his black eyes now staring into yours. You started getting nervous and looked away, a little blush forming on your face. Why did you have to be so awkward?

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"It's closing time kids, now get out."

Your boss slammed the door behind you, Edgar, and Collette as he left you guys outside the workshop. You still weren't getting used to this part of work. You didn't get why he threatened you guys. It was kind of random, but you guessed by this point it was a part of him.

"See you tomorrow love birds!" Collette shouted, waving frantically at the both of you as she began skipping along home with her scrapbook in hand.

You let out a chuckle at her childishness as you watch her skip along farther down the street. You feel yourself blush from what she said as you let out a yawn. You then turn around seeing Edgar in the same spot he was in when your boss pushed you guys out. You let out a whine as you poked his arm. He didn't flitch once. It was odd cause he didn't like getting touched. It looked like he was really out of it so you poke him again. This time he flinched. You see him grip his bag, his eyes setting onto yours again. It looked like he wanted to tell you something, but it seemed like he changed his mind as he began walking toward the opposite direction.

"Hey, wait!"

Edgar did his best to ignore you as he started walking faster down the street, but his heart was wanting something else, you, but Edgar was still feeling unsure of himself. He felt you grab his hand, pulling him to a complete halt. Edgar was about to yell at you, but then he saw your face. He's never seen you look this sad and lonely before. God did he feel bad.

"Edgar please. What's been up lately? Why have you been so distant and why have you been aggressive towards other guys?" You said genuinely, your heart acing for some type of answer.

You saw Edgar's eyes blink slowly as he let out a long sigh. You thought that was all you were going to get from him until he looked back at you.

"Nothing, and no I'm not. You're just seeing things..." Edgar said harshly, seeming to try to hide something from you.

All you did was let out a hard sigh, feeling angry at your friend for not telling you and being so utterly stubborn.

"Edgar c'mon I know something is bothering you so just tell me. You're not hiding it very well..." You say, having this feeling in your heart telling you to leave before something happened. He was just... being mean.

"...Do you have time to come over?"

"Huh-" "I said do you have time to come over-"

"Yeah I heard you, but this is so sudden Edgar."

"I know I know, but I'd rather talk about this in private."

You nod in agreement as you start walking at a solid pace, leaving Edgar confused.

"C'mon you dummy, I got time. Let's go."

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

Edgar's place wasn't too far from the shop nor yours, so of course you were going to come over, but you were surprised to be honest. After all the awkward situations you two have been through the past while, the last thing you thought was Edgar inviting you to his place out of no where, but you didn't mind. His place was like the usual, but the atmosphere felt suffocating to you. You two take your shoes off as you head inside. Edgar headed to the kitchen after he took his off.

"You want anything?" Edgar asked from the kitchen, trying to sound polite. He sounded apologetic in a way.

You shook your head, going to sit down on the couch in the living room. It connected to the kitchen, so you thought it was pretty neat. You hear water being boiled in the kitchen as well as a cup and what sounded to be silverware. As you wait and chill in the living room, you hear the water finished boiling as Edgar picks it up and pours the steaming hot liquid into the cup. You heard more clunks and sounds of metal until he comes into the living room with the cup. It smelt like he made coffee for himself, of course he did. You've picked at him about drinking coffee this late many times sense it's not meant to be drunk at night, but Edgar couldn't care less. He's addicted to the stuff.

"So..." Edgar said, going to sit down beside you as he placed his cup down on table in front of him.

"So..." You began. "Edgar tell me what's been up. It's been frustrating for me trying to figure you out lately."

You could see Edgar get a bit fidgety. It seemed like he was contemplating whether he should answer or not. He kept his silence. You noticed he kept looking back at you and then his cup.

"I still don't get why you're still on about this-"

"You said you would tell me, SO TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK IT IS STOP AVOIDING THE-"

"SHUT UP OK? WHAT'S YOUR DEAL-"

You then stand up, gripping his shirt and pulled him up close to your face.

"What the fuck is YOUR deal? What's with this attitude and threatening every guy that's approached me huh? And you think I'm being the 'big deal'."

Edgar felt threatened by you yelling. He's never heard you yell or be this upset. You felt him shaking in his boots practically as you held him by the shirt.

"Why the hell have you been so distant from me? What did I do..." You whispered, loosening your grip on Edgars shirt, your eyes going teary-eyed.

Edgar noticed this as his heart felt sore just seeing you sad in anyway. He couldn't believe someone like you cared about him this much, and that you actually cared to be around him. Edgar then felt his scarf move upwards towards your neck, wrapping itself around as it pulled you two closer. A shocked expression appeared on your face including a blush. You didn't know why this happened, nor did you try to think about it as the scent of Edgar flooded your nose and that his face grew closer to yours. You let go of Edgar as you try to take the scarf off you but it wouldn't budge. You could feel heat radiate from Edgar's cheeks at that moment. He was flustered and so were you.

"Dammit Eddie." Edgar cursed. "Sorry about this Y/N... I don't know what's gotten into it"

You were still fazed out from the scarf so it took you a moment to process what he said to you. You could feel his scarf poke at you for whatever reason. You had no idea what was going on with it right now of all times. It's never done anything but get around someone else's neck, but why yours? You could see Edgar's patience break, his eyebrows all crunched up. He was known to have anger issues after all. Edgar then lets out a 'gah' and gripped your shoulders and shook you.

"I LOVE YOU OK?! THERE, THAT'S WHY. HAPPY?!"

You being in your angry state you didn't seem to process what you just heard at first, so Edgar shook you again.

"I. Love. You. You angry dork. Just god you're amazing and stuff a-and you've done so much for me and... you're cute." Edgar trailed off in a stutter as he looked at you with soft eyes. You couldn't believe what you just heard.

"I- You're the angry dork!" You say back through your teeth, your cheeks glowing red, and your heart beating faster. Your eyes widening at his sudden confession.

He just said that to end the argument, didn't he?

"Are you serious? Or are you joking?" You question him. You wanted to make sure he just wasn't fucking with you.

You could see the relief on his face after what he just said, so maybe he was telling the truth. You could see a small smile growing on Edgar's face as he began to lean forward. You try backing up but the scarf and Edgar wouldn't allow you to. You feel Edgar cup your face with his hands as he dipped you slightly and left a soft kiss on your cheek. You gasp as you try to hide your flustered face, making Edgar chuckle.

"There's your prove nerd." Edgar said against your cheek, letting out a 'pfft' when he saw your reaction when he moved away from your face.

You didn't say a word as you hugged him tight as you buried your face into his chest, feeling too embarrassed to say another word. As Edgar hugged you back you feel his scarf extend itself to wrap it's fabric around you more. Your heart felt quite fuzzy and light as you guys stay down and hugged each other. Guess you weren't storming out tonight like you expected this to go out.

"I love you too you dork..." You said back in a whisper. "Who would have thought a guy like you would get jealous over some random strangers flirting with me and trying to ask me out?"

You feel Edgar hold you tighter, kissing the top of your head. It seemed like you hit a nerve.

"HEY- I- Fine maybe I was..." Edgar mumbled against your head, shifting himself so he could lay down on his side on the couch with you following suit.

You eventually fell asleep with a smile while Edgar played with your hair. Edgar sighed as he leaned his head back on the couch as he held you. For the first time in his teenage life he actually felt... actual happiness. He didn't feel any sort of regret either. Luckily things turned out good in the end. Maybe except when you two argued, but Edgar found you super pissed... sort of cute after. He wouldn't mind getting you mad again just to say how cute and precious you were.

Chapter 9: (Poco) Encore, Encore! - ❥ [Request]

Chapter Text

"Y/N, could you grab the vodka from the shelf there?" You turn around to face Barley, willingly obliging. "Oh, of course!"

You reach up to the shelf to grab it for him. You were helping him with the bar today cause it was so packed. Not just with all the brawlers, but travellers too. You never thought you'd be here moving about at a constant rate. Not like you used to anyway.

You see, you're a writer and a singer, but you keep it to yourself for a couple reasons. Yes you performed in front of a crowed before, but you had performance awful anxiety. You haven't played in front of anyone since then, and you haven't been able to have the courage to do so. You've always been shy about these topics, so you try your best to avoid it. You were mostly afraid of actual bad criticism as well, but of course you'd listen to the actual criticism where it didn't make you feel dreadful.

For now though you've been improving your music, your writing, as well as your confidence for the past couple years. You wanted to get better in every single part before performing again. You didn't want to embarrass yourself or your family again. You knew you were a musician. You felt it in your soul, but your self consciousness kept holding you back. That's why you decided to move to Brawllage for a fresh start in your life.

It took a while to get to know everyone there, but eventually everyone warmed up to you. You were even surprised that Bull and Bibi considered you a friend, knowing how mean they can be. Never the less, you were thankful for all the new friends and acquaintances you've made along the way.

You eventually met a fellow writer and musician like you named Poco. Not being from the big city, you were a tad scared seeing an actual skeleton that was alive and moving for the first time. You lived on a farm most of your life, so you never got to see mystical people like him til you moved. He was genuinely very kind to you, but a bit shy cause of your reaction, but you meant no harm or discrimination towards him. He became your source of inspiration later on, and you guys grew more close as the days, the weeks, and eventually the months went by. He was just the right skeleton to get you going again when it came to your dream.

Now you were here helping Barley out, and it was almost closing time. You served your last customer (who was a traveller) and went to the back. You grabbed a wet cloth and went back to the front to wipe down the bar. You hear metal footsteps head to the front door and you look up.

"Leaving already Barley?" You asked, putting an elbow on the bar and leaned on it. Barley looked at you before heading outside, his moustache curled up into what looked like a smile.

"Righto you are Y/N. Make sure you lock up the place before you head out alright? Thanks for the help today." Barley explained, still being chipper as ever. You smiled at him, leaning against the bar. "Not a problem at all. I'll see you tomorrow, and you're welcome."

Barley waved at you before shutting the door, leaving you alone in the salon. You sighed, feeling finally at peace after working hard today.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

After locking up the salon and made sure everything was good, instead of heading home and going straight to sleep, you decided to bring your guitar with you to a hill. The hill wasn't too far away from your home, and it was surrounded by a few trees and bushes. It was quite a pleasant place to unwind and relax. You found the spot not to long ago. You went there whenever you were stressed or sad since then, and it was one of those times you wanted to head to your happy place.

You eventually made it up the hill and found a comfy spot near a tree. You start tuning your guitar, looking towards the sunset as you did so. It was so peaceful, yet beautiful to see. A smile appeared on your face as you began playing random notes and melodies on your guitar, then your thoughts went elsewhere.

You remembered a song you played before you left for collage years ago to your younger brother. You haven't seen him since then cause you were too shy to reach out. You felt like you'd disappoint your brother and family if you told them you didn't become anything yet in the terms of a musician. Now feeling a clamped feeling in your heart, you turned your guitar again to play the song. Your brother was only 10 when you left, and the look on his face when he found out you were leaving was tear jerking, but you had to start your own life. No matter how bad it hurt leaving.

You felt tears start building up in your eyes as you began to sing. The regret of not finishing music collage, the regret of not contacting your family in so long. It's been a long time since you've felt like this, but instead you put those emotions to your singing and playing. You let your heart out as you played, letting your words and fingers play elegantly together to make something beautiful.

As you played your last string and said your last word, you feel a significant relief off your shoulders. It felt incredible as the wind blowed against you. You sighed in relief, taking in the moment. You then heard something russel in the trees and footsteps coming towards. Your fight or flight came into play as you stood up with your guitar facing the noise, gripping the neck of your guitar.

"Hey relax. No need to bash me with that now, it's just me!" You heard a familiar voice from the bush, putting your guitar down. Poco came out of the trees, brushing the leafs off of him. He had his guitar wrapped around his back.

"Poco?" You questioned, going sitting down in your original spot. Poco noticed you moved to sit down, so he did as well, leaving a bit of space between the two of you.

"That's me alright." Poco said, moving his guitar around to the front of him. "Also what I just heard on the way here was just beautiful! I had no idea you could play and sing so well. Why haven't you told me?!"

You felt your cheeks heat up from the compliments, shifting yourself around to be more comfortable. There was no point in hiding it anymore, so you prepaid yourself to tell Poco about your passion, your family, and some of your worries.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"And that's that for now I guess." You shrugged, tapping your guitar. Poco leaned forward to hug you suddenly, catching you off guard.

"Y/N I see so much potential in you. As a person and a musician, and don't think you'll disappoint your family. They sound so supportive, especially your younger brother. Didn't you say he was also an inspiring musician?" Poco asked, pulling away from you. His touch was oddly comforting as you wished he hugged you longer.

"Well yes, but I'm not sure if he's still going to follow that dream. He was only doing it cause he wanted to become just like me when he got older. He might be into different things now." You explained, looking towards the sky. It was getting dark already. Poco grinned at you, putting his bone hand on yours.

"The only way to know is by asking him yourself. You should really call him and your family sometime, maybe even ask for them to visit, or vise versa." Poco explained.

You looked towards Poco in shock, but you didn't show it. You never thought Poco would still be here listening to you, especially giving you advice and being so supportive of you. You felt something kick start in your heart, something you haven't felt in so long. You smile, knowing what it was.

"Thank you Poco, truly. I needed that. I'll call my family tomorrow, no matter how scared I am." You said, feeling a bit bashful. Poco bumped your shoulder with his in a friendly way with a chuckle. "That's the spirit Y/N!"

You chuckle yourself as you began to sit up, only for Poco to pull on your sleeve. You tilt your head at him, wondering what he wanted. "Before you go home." Poco paused, letting go of your sleeve to play a single cord on his guitar. "May I have this musical dance?" Poco asked, a playful expression forming on his skull face.

You felt your heart tug at the request. The somewhat famous Poco, asking a normie of a musician like you to play together with him? What a night this has been. You stare at him for a moment before deciding to sit down again. Your gut was telling you no, but your mind and heart was saying a million times yes. You then adjusted your guitar and strummed a couple cords, feeling a tad nervous. "I thought you'd never ask." You say, seeing Poco's grin widen. He seemed happy you said yes to his request. It honestly warmed your heart as you felt your cheeks redden.

You've only known Poco for a couple months, but you already felt an instant connection with him, a connection that felt deeper then anyone you've met in your life. Well, not an human person anyway, but a skeleton! After this moment with you two together, you felt like you could trust him a bit more with your personal life now and your feelings. You couldn't stop smiling as you two played songs that were both familiar to you and sang. It was a beautiful moment for you two's friendship.

Your heart couldn't stop beating against your chest as you continued to play and sing. You felt more confident and happy after what Poco said about you. Especially that he's stayed with you for this long.

You now know you've developed a crush on your friend after this moment, but now wasn't the time to tell him. Your guys friendship was enough for you, even though you wanted more. There will come a time you'll tell him, but you weren't even sure if he'll ever feel the same about you. You were curious about if he felt the same as you did right now, but now wasn't the time to ponder on it.

But not knowingly so, you had no idea you were the new source of inspiration for Poco after you moved to Brawllage as well, but now he's even more inspired now knowing your secret talent you've hidden from him and the other brawlers all this time. He honestly adored you. Not just because of your beautiful singing and playing, but you were just a kind, gentle soul who cared about their family very much. He still didn't know why he couldn't stop smiling around you either, being so talkative, and why his heart was beating so fast, but there will be a time he'll find out eventually why he feels this way.

Chapter 10: (Sandy) Chilling - ❥ [Request]

Chapter Text

"Blah blah abah!"

"C'mon Gene this ain't fair!"

You giggled at the two arguing. Gene and Sandy were playing a board game, and of course Gene was winning. He loved board games to death and was pretty good at them too, so you didn't expect anything less from him. You sighed, leaning against a chair and continued to watch the two. You were invited over to stay the night, and of course you said yes. You loved the group  to bits. Tara was like a sister to you, while Gene was like a brother to you, and for Sandy... it was a different story. You didn't see him as a brother anymore like you used to. He's grown on you, and so has your crush towards him.

You didn't know why cause he'd seemed like the most boring brawler to talk to, considering all he does is sleep. But whenever he wasn't tired or sleeping, he was quite an interesting person to talk to. As lazy and quiet as he was, he knew a lot about magic and mythical beats, and so did you, so that's when you two really clicked the first time you met. There was things he didn't know, and things you didn't know. You two would talk for hours about it, but sometimes Sandy would fall asleep mid conversation, but you grew to get used to it by now. You'd tell him what you two were talking about before after he woke up. Of course he apologized about it all the time, but you kept telling him he didn't have to apologize. It was a part of his curse after all.

"Mmh Mm Mmh!" You hear Tara from the kitchen, your eyes shifting towards the kitchen. Dinner was ready. You were thankful and lucky enough to understand Gene and Tara after many painful hours of memorizing certain tones and hums. It was totally worth it though so you could communicate with the two better, and with Sandy's help, you progressed a lot.

"Gene how is that even possible. You're cheating. I'm done." Sandy rolled his eyes before getting off his chair, yawning into his hand. Of course he had no emotion in his voice and sounded monotone. That's just how he talked.

You watched as Sandy headed to the kitchen, feeling a blush form on your cheeks. You heard a mumble coming from Gene, turning your head towards him.

"Oh you need help with that?" You asked, moving towards Gene. Gene smiled at you with his toothy grin, blabbering happily. You smile at Gene. He was just so precious. You lean over to pick up the box to the board game

"Sure thing Gene! Let's put this away before dinner arrives."

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

After putting the board game away (and you preventing Gene making of the game pieces come to life, telling him it would destroy the whole house) Tara and Sandy arrived with dinner. Tara really outdone herself with the cooking. You guys were having food you haven't ate before, so you were beyond excited. Tara has always been a talented cook, so you didn't expect anything less of her. You asked Tara what the dishes she made called, so she gladly answered your question. The meal consisted of gobi manchurian, shanskua, and a side dish called middle eastern lupine beans. And of course there was juice for you, Gene and Sandy, while Tara had wine.

Digging into the meal was honestly  heavenly to your taste buds. You really thought Tara should start her own restaurant chain sometime in her life, but you knew she was solid with being a brawler, but goddamn people deserved to taste her bomb ass cooking. It was honestly to die for, and Sandy and Gene could agree. The food left Sandy shocked which you never see from him, so you know the food is deliciously mouth watering. Gordon Ramsey would even be extremely impressed by the amounts of love and variety of different spices there were in these dishes!

Even through shoving your mouthful of food basically, you and the rest of the three chatted along the way which was always a treat. Of course it ended after everyone was done with their meal and washed their dishes. Sandy didn't want to, but Tara wasn't messing around when it came to cleanliness and smacked his head with a newspaper. Not that hard of course, but hard enough for him to get his act together. He quickly did it before he headed downstairs. You clean your plate after that and help Gene and Tara clean up more around the kitchen before heading upstairs yourself. Since you were sleeping over, you were going to sleep in Sandy's room since the house didn't have a guest bedroom.

You've slept over multiple times sure, but tonight felt different. You felt extremely anxious, but you thought it was just you over thinking again as you head to the bathroom to get ready to hit the hay. After getting changed to your pyjama's, you knock on Sandy's door before entering to be respectful, but you don't hear a response.

He probably fell asleep once he got up here. What a dork. You though smiling to yourself, and you were right. He was sleeping peacefully, not making a single peep.

As quiet as you could, you snuck into your sleeping bag, trying your best to not wake Sandy up, but then you remembered he was a deep sleeper. You snuggle into your sleeping bag ready to sleep. Then you hear a yawn coming from Sandy's bed. You turn yourself around in the sleeping back to look at him. He was rubbing his eye with his right hand, then he noticed you looking at him. His eyes shifted towards you.

"Oh hey. I didn't hear you come in." Sandy smiled slyly, stretching his arms. You roll your eyes at him. "Well duh, you're a deep sleeper!" You exclaimed, pointing out the obvious. Sandy chuckled, putting his hands behind his head.

"You know, I like you Y/N." Your eyes shot open hearing that, sitting up on your elbow. "Excuse me?" You ask, tilting your head at him. He simply smiled at you, winking at you as he did so.

"Like I said. I like you a lot Y/N." He admits, laying on his side. You saw his eyes flutter closed with a smile, seeing that he was about to fall asleep again. You quickly get out of your stunned blushing state, looking to the side.

"I-I like you too Sandy, like a lot." You admit, laying back down to hide your blushing face. You hear Sandy nod with a happy sigh, opening one of his eyes to look at you.

"Epic..." He mumbled before falling right back asleep again, making you laugh, but never the less feeling happy and giddy all over.

Yep, a complete dork. A complete sleepy dork. You thought before getting yourself comfortable, sighing to yourself. You were still stunned at how calmly Sandy admitted his feelings for you, but what else did you expect from him? Nothing more then a smile and him telling you he likes you in his own way. You smile to yourself knowing this fact, falling asleep knowing your crush also likes you back as you snuggle into your sleeping bag with a happy heart and a happy mind.

Chapter Text

Oh Y/N, how I miss you so... Lou thought sadly as he cleaned yet another table.

Lou was working in the Snowtel tonight, and he wasn't feeling up to par. Ever since he's distanced himself from you, he's been feeling miserable without you. Your adorable smile and laugh, and how you always want to make him happy... just everything.

You guys fucking ruled in 3vs3, especially duos. You two were an unstoppable team whenever you two were together. It was like you two were perfect matches in a puzzle. Because of Lou's sudden realization of how he felt for you, he didn't team up with you as much, but he did take almost every hit for you, leading to him getting sent to Pam's mechanical shop often. Even with Pam ridiculing him about it, he didn't care, as long as you were safe from harms way he wouldn't care less about how damaged he was.

Speaking of you, he saw you were hanging out with Piper and Tara. If he had to be honest, his heart sped up once he saw you were laughing about something. He hasn't seen you in the Snowtel in so long, it felt like the moment when you two first met. Lou would go over to you guys and say hello, but his confidence was down under, so he kept himself busy cleaning the remaining tables. Lou hid his frown and kept these new emotions inside. He didn't want to get cursed at by Mr. P again like last time.

"Aye lad, you holding up alright? You look kind of down..." Lou stopped what he was doing to look towards his familiar co-worker, his mind now out of his thoughts.

"Ah well... of course I am good ol' friend Gale! Why wouldn't I be?" Lou's voice came out almost glitched, making the old man shake his head in disappointment.

Gale looked at Lou then looked where his gaze was. It wasn't on Piper nor Tara, but you, as the all three of you headed out of the Snowtel. Gale shook his head again at his love sickened robot friend and co-worker. Gale could see Lou was having a rough time with his decision, but he had enough of seeing you two apart.

"Come with me for a minute, would you?" Gale asked as he motioned his hand to the employees only room. Lou nodded as he began to follow him along.

As Gale let Lou in, he made sure no one else was coming or looking before shutting the door. Gale walked up to the robot, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Lou, buddy, look at me." Gale paused, with Lou now looking at him with sad eyes. "Look, you can't keep doing this. Y/N thinks you hate her and wanting to cut ties. It's about time you tell her how you truly feel, no matter what answer you get from her."

Hearing the news from the elderly man made Lou's heart... feel like it cracked. Did he mess up that bad? Lou clenched his fists in anger, shame, and sadness. Lou didn't realize how this could affect you till now.

"She...S-She really thinks that? Oh no I ruined everything- I didn't mean-"

"Lad no no no-"

Gale's voices was interrupted by Lou's cries. He couldn't hold it in anymore, his hands now over his eyes to cover them in shame. Gale sighed, not really sure how to comfort a robot like him. He didn't have that type of empathy you had, so he did the only thing he could do. Gale patted on top of Lou's hat for comfort, trying to calm him now. He's never seen him break down like this.

"Hey hey hey, no need to cry. It's never too late to go apologize and tell her how you feel lad."

Lou felt him pat his head again, a glitched sniff coming from him. "Y-You sure?"

Gale nodded, opening the door, his moustache moving slightly. "Of course I know. Y/N loves you too, you know, but don't tell her I told you. Now get going. I'll take over your shift for you."

"Gale you-"

"Don't Gale me. I'll deal with Mr. P, now go."

Lou whipped his oiled tears away, his hands now slightly stained with oil. Before he left the room, he hugged the old man before rushing out of the Snowtel.

"You're one of a kind my friend!" Lou shouted as he rushed out as fast as he could.

As Gale saw Lou run with all his might to catch up to you, he leaned against the door with a sigh, a grin now on his face.

"You got this champ..." Gale muttered before heading to where Lou was previously, cleaning the tables. "But geez... kids today are surely strange."

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

After Lou ran out of the Snowtel in a hurry, he saw you were already gone, but he wasn't going to give up on finding you yet. He had to make it up to you somehow... a gift, a gift would work.

Lou smiled with glee as he waited for a bus to show up as he sat down on the bench, his mind determined to find you.

In the following moment, a bus arrived. Lou walked aboard and paid the bus driver to drive him to town. On the way he admired the scenery that passed by his view of vision outside the window. Lou kicked his legs a little as he waited to get to his destination. Yes he was quite nervous, but after what Gale said he couldn't just stay there and do nothing.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

"Thank you for your Mr. Bus Man! Have a Goodnight!."

"Yeah sure kid..."

Lou almost tripped as he waved the bus driver goodbye as he got off the bus. He adjusted his hat and tie before strutting to a nearby shop. Lou wasn't sure if it was open, but he was in luck once he saw the glowing open sign as he got closer to the shop. Lou felt a surge of determination and love go throughout his mechanical body as he entered the shop, scaring the lady at the cash register. She sighed as she saw him, looking down at him with a smile.

"Hello sir looking for anything particular-"

"Yes please ma'am I need something!" Lou interrupted the woman, feeling himself begin to panic. "I-I need to find the perfect gift for a... lady friend I like. I may or may not have upset her."

"Whoa whoa calm down little buddy. I got you." The lady reassured the stressed robot, pointing at the corner of the store "If she's the type of lady that's into flowers, they're down there. If she's not well..."

The lady then pointed at the front of the store where the window was. "There's a sale going on right now for jewelry. 30% off!"

Lou turned his head towards the table of jewelry. He didn't even notice them when he was outside. Lou felt silly in that moment. Lou didn't seem to not listen to the lady anymore as he approached the table, his eyes now sparkling in delight. The lady at the counter let out a giggle. She thought Lou was super cute as he began examining each of the jewelry. To rings to necklaces, then finally the beaded bracelets. In a bit it seemed like he found one he thought you'd like. It was a beautiful yet simple beaded baby blue and white bracelet. It wasn't too clunky nor boring, just perfect for an angel like you.

"I-I'll take this one ma'am!" Lou shouted as he ran up to the cash register in excitement.

The lady stood back in shock. She's never in her life seen a robot this in love before. She didn't think it was possible as she scanned the bracelet for the jittery robot. "Is that everything for you-"

"Yes!"

The lady usually got mad when people cut her off like that, but in this instance she couldn't. Lou's face and how sweet and excited he was was just too adorable to be mad at. The lady then proceeded to nod, pushing the bracelet towards Lou.

"Alright your total is... 300 coins please."

Lou didn't like the sound of that price, but he didn't care at this point. He wanted to get this for you as it reminded him of you. He opened a compartment he usually kept his money in and handed her the total price, 5 extra coins included, a tip for being super nice.

"Thank you very much for your service today miss lady!"

"You're so very welcome, and good luck with whoever the girl is!"

As Lou was about to walk out of the shop, the lady shouted with a card in hand, waving it frantically in the air. "Wait sir don't forget to take this!"

Lou turned around as he rushed back to the counter, grasping the card in his hand. If he could blush, he'd be blushing a deep red right now. "Oh golly, sorry about that. Thank you so much again ahah!"

Lou finally headed out of the store with your gift in hand as he started skipping along to his home before heading to yours to write on the card the lady handed him. Lou grabbed the keys to his place from his other compartment and opened the door in a rush, rushing to find a pen in his house to write on the small card. Lou sighed in relief when he found one, sitting down on his couch as he began to think of what to write you. He struggled for a bit, having trouble expressing how he felt. It didn't help that he felt rushed either. Lou took in a breathe before he did anything else, then something came to him as he began to write;

I know how you are when it comes to receiving gifts, but I felt like it was one of those times you deserved one. I'm so sorry for making you feel sad about our friendship. There's no excuse for what I did to you my honey bee. I hope you can forgive me. I was just nervous about how I was feeling, that's all.

I'd rather say this by mouth, but at the moment I'm trembling in my boots just thinking about it right now as you're reading this while I'm right in front of you.

I love you too Y/N.

Always yours,

Lou

Feeling satisfied yet nervous as he re-read the card to make sure it was exactly how he felt, Lou ran out of his place to head to yours (which wasn't far,) and knocked on your door frantically when he made it onto your door step.

To your dismay, the frantic knocking woke you up from your nap on the couch. You sigh in annoyance when you sit up, cracking your back before heading to the door. You were pissed as you opened the door just by a bit. You didn't except it was Lou, but he was standing right in front of your door holding something behind his back. You glare at him, opening the door more as you leaned against the frame with a sigh.

"Oh it's you... Lou. Wait doesn't your shift last a couple more hours? Why are you here?" You sounded harsh, yet sad as you let out a yawn.

Lou gripped on the box in his hand behind him, feeling like what he was doing was a mistake by how you sounded towards him. Lou knew he couldn't give up and leave though, not now that you were here. Lou didn't think you were home, but to his luck you were.

No more being a coward Lou...

As much as he struggled to talk to you before when he found out he loved you, Lou managed to speak;

"H-Hey... and yes it does, but Gale is taking over my shift for me. I came by so I could tell you something that's been itching at me for a while and..."

"And?"

Lou could see you tapping your foot, seeming impatient. Lou simply shook his head as he looked at you. "Let's talk inside Y/N, pretty please?"

How could you say no to an adorable face likes Lou's? You stare at him for a bit before making your decision, opening the door fully and moved to the side to let him in with a huff. As much as you didn't want anyone else bothering you right now cause of your mood, you've been waiting for some sort of explanation from Lou for quite some time now.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

When you invite Lou inside, you head to your couch in your living room once again, patting beside you as you looked away. You feel Lou plop down beside you a moment later, scooting ever so close to you. You side eye him, making him stop moving.

"Sorry..."

You hear Lou mumble, sounding guilty. It sounded like he wanted to make amends, but you needed more then a visit and a single 'sorry.' With the both of you inside your home now you notice Lou still had whatever was behind his back.

"So...Lou, what's behind your back there?" You asked curiously, leaning back to see, but Lou only shifted himself so you wouldn't look. You rolled your eyes at him, crossing your arms.

"Ah, um, well-"

You see Lou fidgeted around as he spoke, seeming to try to find the right words to reply but failed to. Lou then closed his eyes, shakily presenting you the box from behind his back with the note closed between the lid.

You were honestly surprised, bringing a hand towards it, and then you hesitate. "Is... is that for me? What is this Lou?"

You see Lou open one of his eyes slowly before quickly shutting it, shoving the velvet box towards your direction as he looked away. "J-Just o-open it..."

Odd, you never heard his voice sound like this before. Quite glitchy. Must have been an error maybe? But if it was he wouldn't be here and in Pam's shop, so why did you feel the atmosphere around you change?

You take the box out of his big robotic hand, admiring the touch and look of the velvet box. You open the box slowly and revealed the small card, grasping it lightly and lifted it to see what was underneath the note.

A... bracelet? You thought in shock. This was far from what you were excepting from the snow cone robot in front of you.

He bought this for you, but why? It looked way too expensive to just be considered an 'apology gift.' What was truly going on? You look up at Lou in shock, your anger and sadness drifting away. When Lou felt you look at him, his gaze fell onto yours as he opened his eyes, already feeling his circuits heat up by your curious yet confused eyes.

Lou looked away bashfully, moving his hand indicating he wanted you to read the note before you said anything. You close the box and put it on the table in front of you as you began reading the card.

You thought it was just going to be just an apology card at first, but as your eyes scanned the following words on the card, you feel tears start pricking from the corner of your eyes. You re-read the card over and over to make sure you weren't dreaming. Lou noticed, his body seeming to shake.

"Y/N-"

You let out a laugh, wiping a tear away with your hand as you look at him. "I-I'm ok Lou Lou, I'm ok. I-I just never expected this from you. I... you're too sweet, but wait who told you? Or did you find out I loved you from the start?"

"Wait you did?"

You lips part then close, feeling bashful. "I just outed myself didn't I?"

Lou shook his head, a giddy cute smile now on his face. He can't help but hug you right there. He had no idea you liked him since he came here.

"Don't tell him but Gale told me ahah."

"That damned old man. I knew he couldn't keep a secret." You joked, patting Lou's back as you embrace him in your arms. "I'm guessing if it wasn't for him telling you, you wouldn't be here right now?"

You feel Lou nod as he made an attempt to nuzzle his face into the crock of your neck. You giggle at his overabundance of affection, lifting your head so you could leave a light kiss on the side of his head.

"Oh golly- I-If you keep doing that I'm going to overheat." Lou stuttered, pulling away from you as he covered his face.

"Ha never Lou, you cutie patootie."

The nicknames you were saying to him got him all giddy and happy inside as Lou admired you, finally feeling relieved of the tension between you, and that you did love him back as much as he did for you.

Lou heard you grab the velvet box from the table, opening it as you leaned your body against his. Lou removed his hands from his face as he put his arm around your shoulder and brought you closer to him. He saw you smile slightly from the gesture with a light blush on your cheeks as you proceeded to put on the bracelet. It suited you perfectly as you admired the beautiful colours.

"I-I'm g-glad you liked the bracelet. I knew you'd love it, a-and I'm glad everything ok now and you're not sad or angry at me anymore..." Lou trailed off, still feeling ashamed for the previous situation.

"Lou I was never really angry at you. I just didn't understand... that's all." You quickly lean over to kiss between Lou's eyes, making him gasp.

"S-Stop..." Lou dragged on, a plastered grin on his face.

"Never ever."

As you held Lou's face with your hands, you feel Lou grasp your wrist softly with a loving gaze.

"A-Anyway um... do you want to stay the night perhaps or we could-"

Lou sat up from the couch and lifted you up in his arms bridal style with the widest grin you've ever seen on him. Lou  tried to lean his face close to yours so you helped him by moving yours closer to his. You feel him push his mouth to yours. Even though he didn't have lips to kiss you you still kissed back anyway. You both let out a set of giggles as you pull away.

"Does that answer your question sugar cube?"

You tried to hide your blush as he said that, only responding with nodding as he took you guys both upstairs.

Chapter 12: (Surge) Energy Boost - ❥

Summary:

You're stressed with work and Surge wasn't helping when he came to bother you. After work you smell something burning downstairs. You know you didn't leave anything cooking on the stove, so what the hell could it be?

Chapter Text

"Make sure to get them done. We'll be waiting on you for those designs."

"Yes boss..."

"Good. I'll talk to you again on on Tuesday Y/N. Those designs better be ready till then. You know how our contractors are."

All you did was nod as your boss kept rambling on the latest job you got acquired to do on the phone. You were getting bored at this point.

"Yes sir, I'll be getting to it right now. Till we talk again sir."

With that you end the phone call with an angered sigh leaving your lips. You were on the edge right now when it came to your job. Your boss was pressuring you to work long hours on projects that were due months ahead. You get getting work done early is always a plus, but I'd be even better if you were working in a team. I'd be fantastic, but in your case you weren't. It was just you, just you and your sleep deprived self. Think it's about time you considered asking your boss for some time off soon. If he even gave you time off at all.

"Damn it all..." You curse as you sit up, now heading downstairs to your kitchen sluggishly.

For the time being you were working from home it was a relief for you. You never felt comfortable working when other people were around anyway. Until recently you've been feeling more drained and not willing to get up most days. Maybe it was a mistake taking the opportunity to work from home.

All of what you were thinking about was banging at your mind as you grabbed a mug from the cupboard. Even though it was the evening you were craving coffee. Just as you were going to boil some water on the stove heavy knocks were bears from your front door. It honestly made you jump by how heavy and loud it was. Who could that be?

You turn down the stove before heading to the door, nerve of anticipation fled through you. Finally something different was happening in your life for once. You open the door just by a crack to see the familiar colours of red, yellow, and grey.

"Why hello Y/N. It is I, Surge!" Surge announced, doing his hero pose. "What's been going on party gal? I barley see you anymore."

You thought he would've know why cause you told him before, but you guessed he didn't listen. For a robot he didn't have great listening skills which annoyed you thinking about it. You then see Surge waiting patiently for a response from you, which you didn't want to answer cause you were exhausted and didn't feel like talking to anyone right now. All you do is shrug before going to shut the door, but Surge stopped you from doing so with his foot.

"Hey what gives bro? What'd I do?" Surge complained, grabbing the door to pull it more open as you began to get annoyed by his nonsense. "I came over was to ask if you wanted to partay."

You give him a blank stare well knowing what he meant by that, aka "hang out" but you had something else to deal with right now and he wasn't getting the message so you decide to let him in so he would shut up. You see him grin just a smidge more as he bumped right passed you.

"Ok Surge." You say as you go back to the stove in the kitchen to turn it on, looking back at Surge. "Let me explain something to you."

Surge looked up at you in curiosity, but also a mix of confusion. It made sense but it pissed you off.

"I told you about work and it seems like you don't give a rats ass about it or my personal space at all. I can't just 'partay' all day like you can. You don't know the struggles I've been through, like at all, or needing to worry about making money to get by. My life just ain't about Brawllage you know."

You didn't mean to get hostile, but Surge was getting on your nerves just being here. He could be such a pretentious prick about people's space sometimes, but you weren't going to let him get away with this this time. You could see him trying to fit the pieces together of what you were saying, as you continued with your rant. "So no I can't 'partay.' I just wished you understood my struggle so you could let me be..."

Your words turn into a mumble as you got your coffee ready for yourself as you headed back upstairs to your office. "Also if you don't mind please don't disturb me I got work to do, and I suggest you leave."

Those were the last few words you spoke before you stopped upstairs, now regretting blowing up at Surge, but it was too late now as you headed into your office to start working. Surge on the other hand was stunned at what just happened. He actually felt... bad, real bad. He's never seen you this stressed, and for some reason it got him stressed out too.

"Sorry Y/N..."

Surge knew you didn't hear him, but he couldn't help but say it. He didn't understand humans sometimes and that was one of those times. He hated seeing you this upset. What's something that could cheer a (pretty) human like yourself? Surge pondered over the question for a bit, until finally it hit him. Sweets... but what kind of sweet?

Cake! That's what I'll make her. She loves cake, but what kind of cake? What flavor?

With the question and thought in mind, Surge began to search the web within his mind trying to figure out what type of cake to make you. Surge seemed innocent enough to not understand how things turn up whenever a robot cooks... poor thing didn't know what was coming to him.

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

Alright that should do it. I could use a break right now.

You got a lot done tonight. You were just thankful that the coffee you made kept you from passing out at your computer. A nice bath and dinner sounded nice after hours of work. You check your phone and it was currently 11:00 PM. You didn't even notice the time flew by when you started working around 3 PM. Your nose picked up on something suddenly. It smelt like... burning? Wait burning?

Oh fuck oh fuck did I leave something on- You cursed to yourself as you came running down like a mad man into your kitchen. You had your phone ready to dial on 911 and everything. When you made it down stairs to your kitchen you see... wait Surge? He was still here? And why the fuck was he wearing your apron?

"SURGE!"

Surge looked toward you with a grin as he pulled the... disastrous cake out of your oven. It was  covered in ash. Surge put the cake on top of the stove and took the oven mitts off his hands, your oven mitts.

"Oh Y/N you're just in time for-" "SURGE I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE." You yell, walking up to his face. "AND WHY THE FUCK DID YOU TRY TO MAKE A CAKE?"

"Cause. I wanted to make you something as an apology for either, and you had all these ingredients lying around so...."

Even with you basically insulting him he didn't care, the smile still permanent on his face. With you being so close to him he pulled you into a bone crushing hug, freaking you out as you grew flustered. You didn't know why he did this out of no where.

"Surge you doofus let go of me!"

Surge didn't listen to your complaints. Instead he held you closer.

"Surge-" "Y/N you need to chill a little."

"But-" "Stop thinking for a sec. You humans think too much."

You groan from his response as you pouted, tilting your head downwards so he couldn't see your forming blush. Your eyes narrowed when you felt him rub his hand up and down your back slowly as you start relaxing into his touch. As much as you hated this and how embarrassing it was. It was... oddly nice, comforting even, for a robot anyway.

"Awe is someone starting to calm down? I knew this would work." Surge teased, a chuckle leaving his voice box as he patted your head lightly.

What a goddamn tease. First the burnt cake and now this? What the hell was going on this robot? There must have been some sort of malfunction. There has to be.

"Surge...?" You muttered under your breathe, moving your arms around his head.

You feel him flinch from that, but then he relaxed in your touch.

"Y-Yea?"

"Why'd did you even try to attempt to cook for me? You know how that turns out whenever a robot cooks..."

Surge let out a laugh, pushing you back a little and placed his hands on your shoulders.

"Cause I could and I wanted to. I care about ya you know? And I wanted to try to do something nice for you..."

You eyes widened. Wait. He cared, about you? But why you of all people? You weren't even a brawl or someone important. You roll your eyes at him. What an innocent bimbo he was. Even though he was a bimbo you couldn't help but smile at his attempt to make you feel better somewhat.

"Surge you didn't have to, like at all, but I guess you can say you tried." You say, patting the side of his face. "And why would you care over little old me anyway? Don't you-"

"Shut up ok? You're awesome. No matter what you tell me, my thought of you won't change." Surge said quickly, moving a hand to your burning cheek. "You're not just a party girl to me you know, you're my..."

You see Surge pass, seeming quite hesitant to tell you what was on his mind. The feeling of his cold robotic hand distracted you from saying anything else, but you managed.

"My what?" You ask in a whisper, still feeling bashful. Why was he holding you like this?

You could see Surge struggling what to say as his permanent looking grin turned crocked. His head kept turning to look elsewhere and then to you. Was this his way of showing he was... nervous?

"I'll let you figure that out-" "Surge."

"Ok ok fine... you're my girl hehe."

You tilt your head in confusion as your eyes squinted.

"What is that supposed to mean-" "I like you ok Y/N? Wait, I mean I love you is what I'm trying to say."

Well, this was unexpected as fuck. You felt yourself begin to shake as you tried to push him away. This was just another prank of his. It had to be. Surge being Surge after all, this is something he'd do to fuck with someone, especially someone like you,  but the tone of his voice and how his sarcastic attitude faded after he said it sounded like he was flustered out of his mind.

"Surge-"

As you were about to speak Surge grabbed you and pressed his face to yours in quick motion, his hand in yours as the other went to your waist. Was this his way of trying kiss you? It surely felt like it. He may have no lips but the passion seemed to be there. You being you you don't kiss back due to shock. You were in disbelief. Surge moved back after a bit in panic as he left go of you.

"Dammit I knew I shouldn't have done that what was I-"

When Surge was about to say more he stopped talking when he saw you, specifically your face. It was like you were out of it. Your face was beat red and didn't move a muscle.

"Y-Y/N?"

Hearing Surge say your name snapped you out of it. You bring a hand over your moth as you turned around, your other hand being placed on the counter beside you. Why the hell would he do that for? Was it to make you fall for him more or what?

"Dammit Surge... DAMMIT SURGE YOU DOOFUS!" You shout in embarrassment, your hand turning into a fist as you slammed it on the counter softly.

You turn around to face him. He looked so worried, embarrassed, and ashamed. It hurt you. Did he... actually mean all what he said? Only way to find out was to actually kiss him so you strut towards him and grabbed the sides of his head. You press your lips onto where his would be passionately. You feel Surge go limp in a way as you kissed him, his hands travelled down to both sides of your waist. You hear sigh happily against you when you pull away. Surge was left in bliss when he looked at you.

"Hehe, I k-knew you liked me." Surge stuttered as he hugged you again.

"Shut up nerd." You mumble as a sign escaped you as you pat his back. "Yeah yeah yeah I love you. A lot actually."

You feel Surge lift you up in the air with an even wider grin, making you laugh.

"I t-thought you were kidding about liking me and all, but I guess not. I'm happy you weren't." You say as you pushed yourself off his shoulder to look at him "Now lets go make an actual edible cake huh?"

Surge nodded as he put you down, pushing his face to your cheek. All you do was roll your eyes at the sort of egotistical robot. Who knew someone like him would be this affectionate? Your eyes then land on the horrendous cake beside the both of you. You forgot it was there. After Surge let go of you, you were doing to teach Surge a thing or two about cooking, or better yet let him watch so he doesn't make another cake that turns into ash.

Chapter 13: (Griff) Scam - ❥

Summary:

You find out you got scamedby Griff and you confront him about it.

Notes:

Griff may seem like prick, but eh I like his sarcastic ass, so take this. I needed the f o o d. I also hate how short this is, but I'll probably rewrite this in the future. (Also almost happy new years everyone. I'll be most likely be writing fanfiction all night lmfao.)

Chapter Text

"Hiii, what brings you here again Miss Y/N?"

You walk over to the counter, hiding the frustration behind your plastered smile, placing your item on the counter. "No need to call me 'Miss' Colette, but anyway, I'm here cause your boss... scammed me, and I must discuss this with him."

Collette's toothy grin dropped, then she got fidgety. "O-Oh my w-well, about that-"

"Oh look who decided to come back! How may we help you?"

You and Collette's eyes shifted towards the... familiar boisterous, sarcastic voice, Griff. The man wore his typical suit, the cash register for a head glimmered and shined against the shop lights. He was leaning against the employee's door frame while picking his teeth with a tooth pick. You weren't sure why, but you had a fond attraction to him, despite how he was as a person. You always fell for the sarcastic assholes for whatever reason.

It took you a minute to respond, clearing your throat. You could feel Collette's curious, but knowing eyes on you as she watched the two of you.

"Hello Griff, I was wanting to take something back..." You started as you walked towards the shorter man, making him look up at you "Cause you sir scammed me, of all people you scammed me."

Griff have you a blank expression as he stopped picking at his tooth, then he bursted out laughing, leaving you confused. Griff wiped a tear out of his eye before he responded to your odd 'accusation' "You know we don't do that here Y/N, and we don't. do. REFUNDS! EVER!"

You didn't feel threatened by him shouting, but no refunds?! You never saw no sign, nor heard any of his employees say anything about it. This was bullshit, more the bullshit could get. You sighed, rubbing your temples.

"You literally never addressed this," You move your arms around towards Collette and Edgar (who was on his break.) "And neither of you either. This ain't fair."

You never thought Griff or the others would do this to you, knowing how long you've known any of them for, specially Griff, so this hurt your heart a tad.

"Well too bad sweetheart. You should have asked." Griff mentioned as he shrugged, adjusting his tie as he walked pasted you.

That's it, you had enough of this. You weren't going to let him get away with this, or his employees. What you didn't know though was that they weren't allowed to say anything about it. It would go against the rules otherwise. They both felt bad as they watched you and Griff argue for what seemed like the next hour, until Griff had enough as he put the his hands on both sides of his cash register head.

"OK FINE FINE, TAKE YOUR DAMN MONEY!" Griff shouted in frustration, pulling your money out of his pocket as he shoved them into your hand, looking away from you, crossing his arms.

After a minute he calmed himself down, side eyeing you. "Be lucky I like ya Y/N, and that I don't want to get sued anytime soon, now get out of my shop..."

You couldn't even respond due to how shocked you were. You didn't even notice his tone was threatening, nor his posture. Knowing how stubborn Griff was though, this was in a one in a life time situation to be in. As you counted your coins, you saw he gave you ever last one, a smile rising on your face, feeling pleased.

"This was all I wanted Griff. Thank you for being reasonable, but you should really consider making people know there's no refunds. It isn't fair to the customer, after all." You explained, still in the state of shock he actually went against his morals, knowing how much he was money hungry.

"I don't need you, or anyone else telling me to how to run my own shop, now please leave before I changed my mind."

"But Griff, you wouldn't do this for anyone else, but why me?" You asked as you heard Griff groan, turning his hands into fists. You could practically see the steam piping out of his head as he turned around to face you.

"Didn't you hear me before?! I like ya. Plain and simple, now leave. Don't make me ask ya again." Griff mumbled, his eyes shaking as he couldn't make eye contact with you.

You couldn't tell what he was feeling right now, but it almost sounded like he was... shy? Impossible, you thought as you crouched down to his level, leaning in to leave a kiss on the side of his cash register head before heading out the door. You smirked as you headed out hearing Griff cuss while Collette was giggling and Edgar bursted out laughing.

You left a very embarrassed, yet angry chad register man behind as you headed home, feeling happy you got your money back, and perhaps a potential relationship with the Griff the next time you see him, but time will tell if you will ever come back.

Chapter 14: [Platonic] (Sprout) Little Assistant - ❥

Summary:

You noticed something in your fertilizer was causing your plants not to grow as efficiently, making you ponder on how and why it happened. You were about to give up at some point until a scientist and a little robot came over to visit.

Notes:

Hello hello again lovlies. Whoever you are that is reading this right now you're probably wondering where have I been? Well... trying to get through life basically. Getting kicked out of my brother's place isn't fun either, so its been a tough few months. I haven't had the time to just sit down and write for hours at a time like I used to either. It sucks cause I got too many ideas I want to write and share but at the same time it's extremely overwhelming just to get them started. It's become what I would call a burden on my shoulders as of late, but I never want to stop writing as it is my passion I wish to continue doing; so I'm stuck in somewhat of a delama currently.

For my inconsistent upload schedule, take this meh fic I thought was cute or something. I still feel like my writing sounds uninspired asf but fuck it at this point. To the requesters that probably have been waiting patiently, I deeply apoligize I haven't gotten into finishing them. Literally most of them are written but not revised. Again, I just feel overwhelmed and worried about not finishing them for the past 3-4 months. It's not like I forgot about them at all I promise you.

That's my life update for now, and I hope you all are well and happy reading!

Chapter Text

"Right, so maybe I don't have the right mix of fertilizer application for the tomato's but what about the cauliflower then? The beets?!" You mumbled in a panic searching around from your past works to see if maybe you took a misstep into making your fertilizer this year.

Last year your profits for your business increased 25 percent then the previous years as you soon found out the most efficient formula for fertilizer, and now your business was plummeting because of your carelessness of making sure things were in order. How were you going to ever fix this when winter was right around the corner? The thought of it was driving you down into an anxiety attack as your mind thought about how were you going to pay bills, buying food even when gardening was your job that kept you on your feet. You take the moment to focus on the moment and breathe, sitting down on the wooden stool beside you as you ran a hand through your tangled locks of hair. "Ok ok I need to relax-" You whisper to yourself to try to calm yourself down- "I'll find a way. I always have-"

In the mist of trying to convince yourself you'll survive and figure things out, the door bell caught your attention as you stood up and headed to the front door. As much as you didn't want to see anyone while you were in this mental state, you knew how the brawlers were if you didn't answer your door. Who could that be now I wonder... You think as right as your hand was on the door knob, twisting it to open the door. Your panicked-grumpy state seemed to vanish once you saw who was at your door.

"Oh goodness Rosa, Sprout, lovely to see you two."

Rosa simply smiled at your greeting as she patted Sprouts glass head, earning a little chirp from the small robot as it also greeted you. "Lovely to see you too like always Y/N, but can I ask a favor from you?" She asks, seeming bad that she was bothering you as she knew how busy you were around the summer months of the year.

You nod, leaning against the door. "Yeah go for it. I was a tad busy but I could use a break for a little while."

"Ah well, this was sudden but I have to go to an expedition in Retropolis with Bea-" Rosa explained- "You know, about plant science as other scientists joining together to discuss each other's research?"

You hummed in surprise as you never heard of such event before. If you had the time you'd go as you were quite experienced in plants yourself and loved exchanging research and info with others. "That sounds spectacular Rosa! I'd go myself, but you know how it is around this time of year."

Rosa agreed with statement. As a fellow plant researcher herself and how long she's known you, she could empathize with your current situation. "Oh I know you would. I would've invited you to come along with us if it weren't the case, but back to the favor I was mentioning before-" Rosa rushed as she pushed Sprout ahead a little as it looked up at you with its forever souless, sticky-note-for-a-face- "I need someone to watch Sprout for me while were away, and I was wondering if you could but it's fine if you can't-"

Rosa stops herself as she sees you crouch down to Sprouts height, opening your arms for it to hug you. It graciously does as it let out happy beeps and clinks as you pick it up in your arms. "Rosa of course I would any day. After all I do need some company-" You motion your eyes down at the bot still hugging you the best it could- "and a little helper if it wishes to do so."

Having Sprout around was already cheering you up you noticed, and so did Rosa, letting out a chuckle at the sight. She couldn't look for long when her phone beeped, indicating she was getting a phone call. Rosa sent a smile your guys way when she grabbed her phone "Sorry I can't stay for long, but I got to go you two. Bea and I will be back in a few days or so, and call either of us if you have any trouble!" Rosa shouted, waving at the both of you as she began walking away at a rather fast pace when answered the call. By the sounds of it, it was most likely Bea asking Rosa where the hell was she and they had to get going.

You roll your eyes with a smile, letting out a sigh. Before heading back inside you look down at Sprout who didn't move an inch. "Let's get inside little buddy."

◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇:*:◆:*:◇

Going straight into looking for your previous research wasn't your first idea after heading inside, but the anxious worry came back as soon as you stepped into your office space. What seemed like a miracle you found a box of old notes and formulas you've calculated, experimented on, or just scrapped it; just as you were about to give up looking for them entirely- "Yes finally I'm getting somewhere! Now let's see here-" You scramble to your desk with the heavy box of research being placed on top of your sturdy work table; if it weren't, it would have broke on impact otherwise. Thank god you trusted your gut even though it was a little over your price range at the time when you were just starting off gardening as a hobby. You chuckle at the memory, but it was only for a moment before diving right into the first stack of files and papers.

Before you knew it, it was hours upon hours it seemed like before you lifted your head a single, your neck feeling sore from being stuck in the same position that long as you groaned from the pain. As you sit up you felt tense which made it harder to move as you lay a hand on your desk for leverage. When you go to do stretches' you usually did when you got stiff like this, you hear a sad beep below you; then a metal claw touching your leg. "Oh hey little buddy I didn't see you there. I'm completely lost in my work right now, so I'm sorry I haven't been paying attention to you these past few hours." You say apologetically to Sprout, doing the best you could to crouch down with your body stiff. Sprout noticed since he's got here that you've been in distress even when he was dropped off by his creator, even now as he saw you faking a smile.

"You seem troubled Miss Y/N, something the matter?" The bot asked in monotone dialogue like usual. You were used to it but it also brought you some comfort, you shrugged.

"It's nothing for you to be concerned about little Sprout. I'm just reading over my notes about my newish soil formula I developed last year-" You explained, shifting your weight to make your crouching position more bearable- "At this point I may need to start from scratch but at the same time I can't as I can't seem to pinpoint the exact problem. I only experiment with fertilizer in the winter when I don't need to worry about my garden and sales...- " Your words trail off into a mumble, your elbows now propped up on your knees, running your hands through your hair in the process- "If I don't figure this out soon I wouldn't be able to have the money for food, my bills. It's a concept that's hard to explain to a little fella like you Sprout..." You finished explaining, patting Sprouts glass head in a gentle matter.

Sprouts expressing didn't change like usual, seeming motionless not just in its expression. It seemed quiet, too quiet. You assumed it was deep in thought as it processed what you just explained to it. Just as you were about to call out it's name, it backed up and spun around beeping in amusement.

"Let me assist you, Y/N!-" Sprout said, it's body starting to sway side to side. Your heart fluttered at how chipper Sprout was offering you help, but being quite stubborn you declined the bots offer; as much as it sounded quite helpful to your troubles. "Please?" It seemed to beg. "I don't want to see one of my favourite humans in distress anymore..."

Your eyes lit up. There wasn't any possible way for Sprout... to feel, to feel for people at such an emotional level? If you remembered correctly, Rosa and Bea only programmed and built Sprout to care much more about plants according from what they told you. Perhaps it got an upgrade without you knowing somehow? Never the less your heart fluttered from it's concern for you. You remove your hands from your face, leaning forward against your elbows. "How can I say no to you?-" You shyly admitted- "Now come along and follow me to the back garden."

You sit up walking outside your office toward the back garden. You only stop as there was no sign or indicator Sprout was behind you, so you turn around  to only see him at your feet, startled a bit. It was quiet for a bulky robot like itself as it raised its arms up like it wanted to grab something. Seeing this made you chuckle with a hand over your beating heart.

"Something you need little buddy?-" You asked in curiosity. Sprout spun its wheels, running itself into one of your legs, hugging you. You let out a laugh at it's adorable behavior, getting down on one knee to hug it back. You hugged it for a minute before pulled away. "Let's get going then my adorable little assistant." You teased sitting up patting Sprout's head once more.

"Yes Miss Y/N." Sprout agreed as it began to speed out toward where your garden was. "Commencing, assignment...!"

"Hey- Sprout wait for me- Hold on!" You couldn't help but giggle trying to catch up to the little eager robot as you headed for the back as well. Maybe with the help of Sprout you won't need to worry about going broke this year.

Chapter 16: Barley Headcannons

Notes:

Before you read on these are general stuff so they're not "that" descriptive or nothing. While I'm working on the rest of my requests ya'll can have these short headcannons for the time being. I may or may not tweak headcannons on here as I continue writing fanfiction for a certain character and what not.

Chapter Text

General personality:

• Out of anyone in Brawllage, Barley is the detention of gentleman. A damn walking encyclopedia of gentlemen.

• He may have to deal with the daily chaos the other brawlers bring into his bar, he somehow keeps his posture and chipper attitude through it all.

• (Don't tell anyone but there was those few times where he patience broke and he may or may not have no almost burnt down his entire bar down. Nope definitely didn't happen. Just a theory. A Brawl Stars theory.) :^)

• Generally speaking, Barley is a good ass man. A good ass robot man if you will.

• Aside from playing in matches, he wouldn't hurt a thing unless someone provoked him.

• He has a temper on him, but it's rarely been shown.

• Barley is overall a cheery yet mature robot that just wants to have a good time with his customers in his bar.

• He's incredibly sweet and loves to help out anyone in need.

• Barley has his morals, but he's 100% go against them if he ever sees any of his brawler buddies or his love threatened in anyway.

• Quite level headed. No one knows how he still does.

• Can get quite anxious at times.

• Heavily prefers to listen to oldies. A lot of lovey dovey songs to be precise. Few times he's got into arguments with younger brawlers about his taste in music, but he doesn't care for their opinion. All he knows is that he enjoys them whether someone doesn't like it or not.

Barley Dating Headcannons:

• When single, Barley thinks up scenarios in his mind about him being with someone a lot.

• Sometimes he doses off thinking about it with a giant dorky smile on his face (aka his moustache curling upwards sharply.)

• He hides how much he wants to be in a relationship it's almost sad.

• Poor robot man just wants to be held, kissed, and loved. That's all he asks. It just sounds so nice. He secretly longs for that type of affection.

• Sometimes he envy's some brawlers in relationships already.

• Not in a cruel way of course. He just wishes so badly he could be that happy with someone.

• Very considerate are wary of what he does. He doesn't want his lover to be uncomfortable in anyway.

• He'd feel terrible if he made them feel that way.

• At first he's always asking for permission for things like kissing his partner or holding their hand.

• Later on he gets more comfortable showing you affection.

• Isn't afraid of PDA after a while dating his love.

• He just wants to express how much he loves his partner to everyone and how special they are to him.

Barley Intimacy Headcannons (18+)

• Is quite clingy and touchy when he's in the mood.

• In my eyes he's quite an innocent robot, but deep down he has a need like anyone else.

• He's all about praising and getting praise. He enjoys it too much.

• Calls his partner multiple cute nicknames.

• Is vocal if you touch him in the right spots.

• Experiencing a human's warmth and touch like that is compared to nothing he's ever experienced before. It was overwhelming the first time.

• Quite a passionate lover. He cares more about his partner's pleasure more then his.

• He always has to be reminded that his pleasure is also as equally as important.

• Starts out gentle and hesitant the first time he gets intimate, but with experience comes with more confidence.

• With that he grows more cocky and becomes quite a tease.

• He playfully makes fun of his partner.

• "Oh is my little darling not being able to handle this? Awe how cute." Stuff like that.

• Barley highly enjoys getting his partner embarrassed.

• When it comes to being sub or dom, he honestly needs to be both. No questions asked.

• Some days he just desperately wants his partner to touch him and send him over the edge while some days he wants to do the same to them.

• Seeing his partner pleased and enjoying something as intimate as this with him always gets his fans fluttering thinking about it.

• Barley is an amazing lover and partner to have. You can't go wrong with a robot man wanting the absolute best for his love and nothing but the best.
