Chapter 1: A crashed vessel

Chapter Text

Anakin and Rey were watching stars, while laying on the grass. They were twin brothers, who were raised by their mother and their foster grandfather, ever since their infancy. They were Rangers, following their mother's path.

Anakin had brunette with the hints of auburn hair, baby blue eyes and he wore black-green Ranger attire. He had a bow and a sword as weapons.

Rey had brown hair and black eyes. He wore white-green Ranger attire. His weapons were two swords and a bow. He also wielded magic to help his troops.

They were children of the famous Half-Elf Warrior, but only close friends and family knew that they were children, as the public had seen them as the fellow rangers, that fought side by side with their Captain.

They were born during the Unholy Alliance War, where Gelu, Yog, Crag Hack and Gem fought against Sandro to end the Necromancer threat. Since their mother was unable to care for them, they were cared by their foster grandfather, who was shocked, but glad that his foster daughter told him about the children.

Gelu reunited with her children during the Restoration Wars and she introduced them to Queen Katherine Ironfist, who loved the twins. Gelu was happy to see them interact with the prince, before she took them to the forests, where they began their training in the path of the Ranger.

After Erathia was reclaimed, there were two more wars-The Demon War and the race for the Sword of the Frost, which had Gelu outrace King Kilgor's third wife and prevent the disaster. The reason why Gelu didn't pursue the glory quest, was because of her children and she swore to use the Blade only in the real battles, while wielding her normal blade.

The children embraced her, when she came back from the battle and she was happy to see her children. Now, they were living in peace in the forests of Erathia and the children were Rangers, who still sneaked out of the home to scout and practice.

But, they wondered of what was beyond the land, as their home was a Forest Guard Base and they wanted to patrol the land and protect people in other lands, when the need arose. But, they were too young to depart, so, they had the local missions, if there were any.

They were about to stand up and go home, when they saw a shooting star in the sky and they watched it. Then, it crashed and they ran to investigate to see what was going on.

When they arrived at the crash site, they were shocked to see a strange vessel and a person crawling out, as it collapsed onto the ground. Rey and Anakin dragged the figure away from it. She was a bizarre one, as they had never seen a being like her before.

Rey checked the pulse and said: "She's alive, but she's out cold. We need to get her to safety."

Anakin nodded as they lifted her and carried her to their home. She was placed onto the couch and they tucked her in. They also had spotted strange silver tubes and placed them onto the bookshelf. They would make tea and ensure that she had food, when she would awake from her slumber, as they would need to keep an eye on her, or one of them, at least.

"What do you think she came here for?" Anakin asked as he and his brother went to their room. It had room dividers, so each of them had their personal space.

"I have a feeling that she's on the run, but let's not overwhelm her, as she's new and explain to her one at the time, should she ask," Rey said.

"Exactly. This'll be interesting," Anakin agreed.

"Yes. We're here, because of something that our mother asked us to investigate. But, it's a goose chase. Now, we have this on our hands," Rey said.

"Same here. I itch for action, and our patrol was not it. Now, there is something, that we'll play part," Anakin agreed. "Let's rest, and then help."

They fell asleep, as they would be also on lookout, whenever the person that they rescued would awaken from her slumber, since she was unconscious. Anakin wondered where she came from and what brought her here.

But, something was amiss with her, and he didn't know what, as he felt that something was off with him as well.

All would be revealed in time, but first, she had to wake up from her crash...

Chapter Text

Anakin and Rey awoke the next morning to their usual routine of exercise and breakfast, before their duty of a patrol and occasional tackling of bandits from afar. It was a life for them, as their mother was busy training recruits to ensure that the people of Erathia and Av'lee were protected from the threats that would come to the innocents of the land.

The siblings were always together and protected each other from harm, as they didn't abandon each other, even during the Restoration War, when they had to hide from the monsters that ravaged Erathia, before the Av'lee and Bracada soldiers marched alongside Erathia bravehearts to liberate their home from the Dungeon Overlords.

The reunion was the best part, as the twins missed their mother and she had her Sharpshooters protecting the area from the monsters and sniping anyone, who dared to come near their Captain and the young ones.

Gelu got them to safety and she ensured that they were protected, before the war's end and she took them to the forests of Erathia, that they called home. They even visited Av'lee and loved the harmony of the Elven forests.

After the Demon Wars and the Race for the Sword of Frost, Gelu gave the Armageddon's Blade to Anakin, who promised to safeguard it and only use it, if the need would arise and the stacks in the battle were against him and Rey.

Wary of the request, Gelu agreed nonetheless, as she said that she saw the reflection of a power hungry woman in it, while Anakin saw nothing in the reflection of the blade, yet.

Rey, on the other hand, was chosen to safeguard the legendary Angelic Alliance Sword, as Gelu, Yog, Crag Hack and Gem were against scattering the pieces and Rey was given the Sword, when Anakin was given the Armaggedon's Blade. Rey saw himself as the protector of the innocents in the reflection of the Sword and was responsible for safeguarding the most powerful blade and just like with Anakin, he promised to use his sword, when the need would arise.

The blade was placed onto the stand in Anakin's section of the twins' bedroom and Anakin checked on it everyday and Rey also had the chance to hold the Blade. Its power terrified Rey and Anakin was the only one, who didn't shudder. Same was with the Angelic Alliance sword, but it was Anakin, who was slightly terrified and Rey was not affected.

Now, they were tackled with the unusual situation in the form of a strange humanoid girl, who was around their age. She came in the vessel, that crashed and they brought her to their home. The food was still kept warm with Magic, so she would have something tasty to eat, when she would wake up. They still wondered what kind of weapons she wielded.

"What do you think she's running from, since she had to escape?" Anakin asked.

"I think that she's fleeing from danger, just a hunch," Rey replied.

"Possibly. Any other suggestions or theories?"

"No. I'll stick to mine," Rey answered.

"Okay. I'll go on the lookout. Call me, when she awakens," Anakin said.

"I'll keep an eye on her, just in case. Along with our swords, that we have to safeguard," Rey agreed as Anakin went to the post to keep watch alongside the few sharpshooters, who patrolled the area through the trees. Some went to scavenge whatever remained of the vessel that the strange girl crashed in.

The stranger began to stir, when she found herself lying on the couch in a treehouse. She could hear scribbling and saw the tray with food near her. She tried the bread and it was tasty a bit along with drinking the cup with what looked like to be tea.

She didn't mind it and looked around looking for her lightsabers, that were on the bookshelf for some reason. She got them onto her belt, when she saw the young man stand up from his desk seat. "Awake, I see. I'll get my brother. Anakin! She's awake!" Rey called.

Anakin arrived immediately and was glad to see that the stranger was awake at last. "We were worried about you," he said.

"What happened? Where am I?" the stranger asked.

"We found you in the wreckage, when we saw your vessel crash into the forest last night, while we were on the patrol," Rey replied.

"So, we got you here to safety, as there are wild beasts and creatures, that would have feasted on your body, if they found it. By the way, you're in our home," Anakin said.

"This is your house? It's neat," the stranger remarked.

"Thanks. We've been living here, as we're Rangers and we protect the innocents of this land from evil doers and various vile creatures, if need arises," Anakin said.

"Forgive me for asking you this, but I need your help,"  the stranger said.

"I sense what troubles her. We'll protect her, along with learning about her and the civilization, that she comes from. Have you got that letter sent?" Anakin asked.

"Yes. We'll hear response within few days. By the way, I'm Rey, and my brother's name is Anakin," Rey replied.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Ahsoka Tano," the stranger replied.

At the moment, I may write Star Wars Clone Wars/Mass Effect crossover, as I'm a fan of Bioware games (Specifically Bioware games before Dragon Age-Inquisition)

Chapter Text

Ahsoka was looking around, as she studied the house that she would be residing in. She saw that they kept it neat and there was only one bedroom, as the brothers shared it.

She would be sleeping on the couch, as there was no other bedroom. There was a kitchen and she saw that the world wasn't that technologically advanced. Still it was interesting nonetheless.

Both of the brothers were good archers and sword wielders, as they were ready to battle.

"So, you're rangers? Like soldiers of this world?" she asked, while they were practicing on some targets that they made.

"You're right. I and Anakin are part of the Forest Guard, and children of the current leader, or the Captain. Her name is Gelu. The Forest Guard is a guerrilla type organization.

"We weren't raised by our mother, until we were a bit older, since our foster grandfather raised us. She was away fighting Sandro, when I and Anakin were infants, and she wasn't able to care for us. Still, we got letters from her and that was enough, until our reunion during the Restoration Wars, when Queen Catherine's father was murdered. We met her and reunited with Mother during that conflict, while being protected, as she entrusted us to him and he wasn't to fail us," Rey explained.

"Foster grandfather?" Ahsoka asked.

"Right, Morgan Kendal raised our mother, since her infancy. Her origins remain a mystery, although, after the Restoration War, there were rumors that she's the member of Gryphonheart Dynasty. Absolute rubbish rumors, if you ask me. She's a Half Human, Half Vori Elf. We could be same race or even one quarter Vori Elf," Anakin replied.

"And what about your father? Was he around, or did he run off after hearing the news?" Ahsoka asked.

"No, we don't have a father. Mother said that shortly after killing a vampire disguising himself as the Elvish Warlord named Lord Falorel, she collapsed when she received the task of investigating the murder of real Falorel. That was when she discovered that she was pregnant with us, while she wasn't with any man whatsoever. She never found out how it happened," Rey replied.

Ahsoka mused as she tried to piece the whole explanation by Rey together, but stopped, as he looked at her with interest.

"You must had difficult lives, with mom being away at war," she remarked.

"It sounds like you didn't have your parents when you were young either," Rey said as he mused as well.

Ahsoka remembered that she was found as the youngling by Plo Koon, who trained her as his Padawan. The moment she was falsely accused, he had her escape and said that he would catch up with her, as soon as he could.

He was like a father figure to her and she wondered if they had any father figure apart from their foster grandfather, who raised them in their mother's stead, while she was away fighting.

Ahsoka didn't blame their mother being away for the sake of duty, as they spoke good of her.

"Yeah, I didn't. I am an orphan. But I had a good person to look after me, nonetheless," she replied.

"So we're even. We're doing the lookout, as we watch for the danger, while living here. We cannot let our guard down," Anakin said.

Ahsoka thought that she would be safe, but at the same time feared that she would endanger them, as she could be still pursued by the Clone Troopers sent by Tarkin. She hoped that she lost them and they would never come here.

Or, she would fight to her own death to prove her innocence, as she would not stand for her being pursued for something that she didn't do.

She decided to rest on the couch.

"I suspect that there is something wrong with her," Rey said, when he and Anakin came outside for the stargazing.

"You mean that she's in trouble? Look, she's a part of species we don't know and we have no idea where she comes from. We have to find out what's wrong and help her. I sense that she's in danger from something," Anakin replied.

"Yeah, brother, that. I suspect the same. We have to be careful with her. Let's not pry too much and let her open up to the story," Rey suggested.

Anakin nodded, as he and Rey watched the stars.

"We did that as kids, when we were not busy training. Clashing with practice swords and using a practice bow to shoot at targets," Rey said.

"Mom said that in her youth, she practiced by pinning Grandfather's medals to the target with her arrows," Anakin chuckled.

Rey chuckled in the return, as he and his brother rested, before staying on the lookout for another hour or so, before returning to their treehouse.

They had duties along with protecting a strange young woman, who could be the key to their origins...

Notes:

I changed the storyline for Gelu's campaign in this fic a bit, as the whole Shadow of Death was nearly everyone being daft idiots, starting with the protagonists (Gelu, Gem, Yog and Crag Hack) and ending with the antagonist (Sandro). Was New Computing beginning to run out of the story ideas at that time? (Mind you, Shadow of Death expansion came out in 2000)

Rumors of Gelu being a member Gryphonheart Dynasty comes from the interview, where it's mentioned that Gelu and Catherine were planned to be related, since they both have auburn hair.
