How Dr. Lee found the Furlings

Summary:

Who would of thought that the magazine Aliens Among Us! would ever be useful?

Notes:

I owe none of these characters. They belong to their respective authors. I'm just playing with my imagination brush.

Chapter 1: Dr. Bill Lee has a secret

Chapter Text

Bill Lee had a secret, nothing too scandalous but still something he liked to keep under wraps. As a hobby he like to read about the different alien conspiracies people came up with. He subscribed to a few magazines and a internet forum as well for a good laugh after a long day and if he had time, disprove them. He didn’t expect to find anything concrete.

The day of the first agreement that was being hammered between the Tok’ra and SGC, Bill was taking his lunch break and crossing off alien/Earth languages in his disprove this alien conspiracy notebook he kept around. He eyed the growing stack of unread Aliens Among Us magazines he had that he needed to read, that is not after a quick skim to see if anything else popped up. But he had a puzzle and he wanted to solve it.

In the last May issue of the magazine’s Aliens Among Us (such an original title) there was a small article that according to a wack job that summit it, alien slugs were taking over people in California of all places. There was also a very rough hand drawn symbols that stumped Bill after he plugged them into his computer language program so he kept poking around with the symbols at least once a day. The theory and picture of a “alien tech” that the so called government area Zone 91 was a little more concerning.

Bill sighed and finished off his milk. It was time to go to the “experts.” Aka Daniel and possible the Tok’ra. Hopefully they had something to offer. He headed towards Sam’s lab and not finding her there he went to General Hammond’s office. Bill asked his secretary where General Hammond was, since if you keep track of the commander in chief’s schedule, well you can keep track of anyone.

He was informed that he was in a meeting with SG1 and the Tok’ra and was not to be disturbed. Bill informed the lady that he wouldn’t go interrupt the meeting. He lied.

***
Daniel Jackson was slightly bored and tried hard not to fidget, but the meeting for this alliance between SG1 and the Tok’ra required the whole teams present. He didn’t know why. Just as Jacob Carter was appointed as the go between their people a commotion at the conference room door perked up Daniel’s day.

He looked up from doodling some serigraphs to see Bill Lee of all people, open the door, punch a guard, not well, and slip into the room and leaning against the door to prevent it opening. He was panting heavily and clutching a notebook in a death grip.

Bill stepped towards the table and flung the notebook in the middle of the table with the symbols and the picture on display. He gestured toward it as he tried to catch his breath. His hand hurt. He barely noticed General Hammond waving away the guards at the door as the rest of the table set to muttering about notebook contents.

“Bill what’s this? I haven’t seen anything like this in all our studies of alien language or that I can recall.” Daniel said, eyes wide and wondering. It seemed familiar but it was madding not to understand it.

Jacob Carter as the representative of Tok’ra for the first meeting eye’s flashed gold and Selmak spoke. “I have, it’s been quite some time. The Tok’ra lost contact with these people quite some time ago. I can almost make out the language.” Selmak grinned in amusement “and that is a toilet.” Jacob’s hand tapped the drawing. Sam snorted in laughter.

Bill spoke in disbelieve. “Zone 91 treasure alien technology is a toilet? Are you freaking kidding me?”

Daniel looked at Selmak with hunger in his eyes. “What’s the language? Who’s is it? Why haven’t we heard about this before? Where did you find this information Bill?” The last question was directed at the now quiet scientist.

Bill turned red as all eyes turned towards him. He sighed inwardly. “From a magazine I like to read for laughs called Aliens Among Us. The source is based in California though.”

There were a few muffled laughs until Selmak spoke. “As for your questions Daniel, the language is of Andalite origin. I haven’t seen this language for a long, long, long time. Nor have I heard of them after. I think, don’t quote me on it but it reminds me of another language as well.”

“Are the Andalites a threat to us?” General Hammond was not as amused as SG1 at the new knowledge.

Selmak grew grave as he spoke. “No, if they are on Earth they could be allies if I recall correctly. They have been out of contact of us for quite a long time. Some of the other species I remember not so much. The Yeerks at least. Hopefully they are not here as well. But if the Andalites are here then there is a strong possibility that they are as well.” Selmak’s face and eyes grew hard. “The Yeerks are almost as bad as the Goa'uld. Unlike the Tok’ra, the Yeerks are a slug like race unable to survive outside a host at length and needs to feed somehow. Instead of the spine cord, they go through the ear and invade the brain. There is no way to detect them, no change in eyes or voice. The only way we knew about the Yeerks and their war with the Andalites and universe takeover is that a slug invaded a host of ours and we had to keep that host sedated.” Selmak smiled grimly. “A three way battle for a body is not a pretty sight. But after three days, the Yeerk died from hunger. My friend and her host died a few weeks after that.”

Selmak’s voice softened. “My friend and her host weren’t the same afterwards. We didn’t get enough information to check on, they died shortly after that period. We couldn’t be drawn into a different war. But since that war is at your doorstep it might be best to go to California and see what’s happening.”

General Hammond spoke. “I agree. SG1 I guess you are going to California. On leave of course. Your mission is classified and remain cautious at every turn, but try and get more information. Dr. Lee did the magazine say anything of what town that the Andalites language was spotted at?”

Bill frowned. “I’m not sure but a forum I am on said something about a smaller town. If any local tv stations had any information about the language I haven’t had time to contact them. It could be a town by San Diego I believe. At least that’s what the forum I was looking at indicated.”

“Daniel you work with Sam and Dr. Lee to get as much information as possible from where ever before you leave. I’ll arrange hotel and plane tickets. Teal’c and Jack work with Jacob to see if Selmak has anymore memories that can be of use to us. Report to me every six hours once you get there. I’ll inform Dr. Fraiser of events.” George frowned as he recalled something Selmak said. “You mentioned that the Yeerk died because it couldn’t feed?”

“Yes, we only discovered it when the Yeerk started to die and enter something called the Fugue. According to my friend the Yeerk had to feed every other 3 days from their sun. We discovered a mini sun device that was hidden once Yeerk died. I’ll contact the Tok’ra high command to tell them of this turn of events.” Selmak informed George as the SG1 team and Dr. Lee broke into their groups.

George wasn’t sure if any of these Yeerks have infiltrated the base but as a precaution, he ordered a two week lockdown of the base with all the personal accounted for and recalled. MIR scans of everyone's brain just in case. Himself included. He quietly ordered a shake down of all the quarters too, just in case someone hid a device of some sort. He was on pins and nettles until the lockdown was lifted. The higher ups were informed of an unknown contagion for the reason of the lockdown.

George after the last day of the nerve racking lockdown lifted poured himself a strong drink. Hand shaking just slightly. He needed it. Luckily there was no one who was infested with a Yeerk and no one had any sort of device in their quarters but he guess that a brain mapping was having to be included for anyone who came to the base. He prayed that nothing came of the precautions but just in case. He really hoped he had something to tell the president soon.

Tobias was gliding on the air during a school day before the start of summer, enjoying the breeze through his feathers by a deserted stretch of beach when he heard the voices. One female and three males conversing quietly. The older male was complaining about the sand getting into his shoes when the conversation turned that made Tobias almost lose control of the hawk and that hasn’t happened for ages.

“Carter, why do we have to scout the beach first? I’m getting sand in my sandals and I’m cold.” It was not cold at all. “I mean you and Lee narrowed down the slug town to” The brown gray spotted haired man with the baseball cap waved his arms around. Tobias could tell he was military as with whoever Carter was. The large black man could possibly a soldier as well but, he wasn’t sure. He only had old movies to go on.

“O’Neill, isn’t sandals getting sand in them a part of the human experience? I am enjoying it and it’s Yeerks not slugs.” The large black man with a baseball cap on his head interrupted.

“Teal’c, I mean Murray sand everywhere is not on my list of things to do. We can’t say Yeerks or people who are infest will know what we are doing here or at least our cover of innocent people going on vacation will be up in flames.” O’Neill continued as ‘Murray’ opened his mouth. “Not literally in flames it means people will know what we are really doing here. That would be bad.”

“Indeed O’Neill. Jackson any progress?” The young man who had his head in a notebook that he shared with the lone blonde female, looked up at the call. Tobias almost dived but corrected his course. It was like looking at a future him, if he wasn’t a hawk. He took a closer look and amend his statement. For one he didn’t have glasses and his hair wasn’t that brown. But the overall sad but now happy personality that was him before and after he became a hawk. Kind of, maybe. Either way he felt a kindred spirit with this Jackson.

“No, no more progress on deciphering the Andalites language. I hope we find some soon. It might be our missing link to the Furling. Heck maybe they are even related somehow. Anyway, Sam found something interesting that screams cult in action or at least controlled by aliens.” Jackson looked like nothing special, but a very bright person if he could try and crack the Andalite language.

It was Tobias’s heritage and he was having trouble with it at times when Ax could teach him about his dad’s culture.

Sam, the female started to talk about the Sharing and with that Tobias winged his way toward town. He had something to report to Jack and Ax, something important. He squashed down the flicker of hope, something that might end the war. Allies.
**
He landed at Cassie’s barn just as Marco came in claiming to hear new rumors online about a potential new sci-fi show that let people go to different planets by wormholes but was lingering in developmental hell because it sounded so outlandish. The man who came up with the ideas was really wacky or so Marco exclaimed. Or at least was really really high all the time. He had some strange ideas.

‘Even if people could travel by wormholes, Andalite technology is far superior.’ Ax’s morph came in and started switch back to his Andalite body, his mental voice unaffected by the process. It wasn’t the time or place to play with mouth sounds. Delightful as they are.

“Or Andalites couldn’t remember how to work the wormholes technology.” Marco suggested, half teasing. His eyes were haunted.

Only Tobias could recognize Ax’s hoof shuffle as embarrassment. Before he could say anything even in private speak, Jake spoke up.

“Any news anyone? Someone? It’s been way too quiet around here. Not that I don’t appreciated the extra sleep, studying and free time.” The last week and half nothing of note to report from anyone, until now.

Tobias went and landed on Rachel’s shoulder, who stroked him. ‘I have something, Ax does the word Furlings mean anything to you?”

All of Ax’s eyes widen as he stared at Tobias. ‘How did you come across that name? It’s the oldest word for our species that we know. It’s only in the history books. Ancient history books,’ He shot a look towards Marco with one of his eye stalks. ‘Along with the wormhole theory. That knowledge was discontinued.’

“Andalites discontinued the wormhole theory for Z-space because it messed with the morphing process as it was being introduced and you lost the use of it?” Cassie took a wild guess based on her continuing studies of Andalite biology.

She was tending to a injured pregnant mare before a meeting once, and Ax wondered how the mating of the horses differ from the other species of Earth since a horse was the closest to a Andalite body that he could tell. Cassie asked for more details for a better picture to relate the differences but Ax clammed up as more people came in.

The topic was forgotten until Ax got sick and she argued her way into Ax teaching her everything that he could recall after he was cured so at least someone would be better prepared next time anything happened to Ax. They were now on air born illnesses in her lessons.

‘Yes Cassie, as you know from your studies of the Andalite body the morphing technology didn’t react well to a wormhole, which is probably why the Yeerks don’t know about them. As a species that tends to take over people’s brains, they aren’t very smart at times. Visser Three and possibly Visser One don’t want to attract undo attention to their conquest of Earth less other species got into their way. We do have a wormhole device on our planet but we don’t know how to use it. The last time we did so was when our species was called the Furlings but that was many, many, many centuries ago.’ Ax had one of his eyes on Cassie, the other on Tobias and the last one Jake as he explained why his species used Z-space instead of the wormholes.

Before Jake could say something, Marco interject with a hurt tone in his voice, “What do you mean lessons Cassie?” He smiled with a bit of a leer at her, “You learning about how Andalites do it? I mean compared to our sex education classes it was probably more of a eye opener. Am I right?” Marco didn’t really care much about ancient history but the opening for a joke, even a poorly one was needed before Ax went on for hours about his species superiority. He did do that once. After six root beer float with dark chocolate ice cream.

Jake opened his mouth again to say something, but Cassie’s calm soothing voice stopped him. “Oh, we finished those studies last week. We’re on to airborne illnesses. You can join me if you like. You just have to read through my three notebooks of what I learned so far. Ax?” Cassie turned from staring Marco in the eyes to Ax.

‘I’ll gladly have another interested student of my species. I must warn you that Cassie has tiny handwriting.’ Ax knew that Marco was joking but Prince Jake seemed to really want to say something and he had to stop this from snowballing. It had the resulted that was needed.

As Marco shook his head hard in no, Jake filled the silence after Rachel and Tobias chuckles finished. “What other species would want to conquer Earth besides the Yeerks?”

Ax shuffled his hoofs again. “My ancestors encountered them before we knew of the Yeerks. The species name is lost to us. But some details are still known in the history department of our world. They use wormholes to travel, that’s another reason why we stopped using the it, the stone circle gate. As a species we can’t be infected by this snake finned creatures since they don’t know of us, but when we.’ Ax stopped talking. His mental voice was shaking. But not with hatred as when he spoke of the enslaved Andalite that took his brother’s life, but with fear, terrible fear.

After staring at Tobias to give himself strength to remind himself that a part of his brother lived on, Ax continued in a clipped voice. ‘My brother, Elfangor before he became a Aristh, he fancied himself a scholar of ancient history. He wondered if Seerow's Kindness was the first law that make technology sharing forbidden or anything of that sort’ Ax closed his eyes, sighed deeply and continued.

‘The Escafil device, wasn’t always a device, it was a plant that Dr. Escafil used to morph with, that is his ancestors did. The technology wasn’t there yet. The plant was found on a small outpost at the very edge of our section of the galaxy, which was named Escafil after the clan that found the plant. It was brought back to our planet and was seeded successfully but it wasn’t known for the morphing abilities until much much later. It was just a mood changer of sorts, but not to the Andalites that lived on Escafil full time.’

Ax knew his explaining was uneven but he couldn’t say it twice in a more rational form. ‘The outpost was still used at the time because the Furlings/Andalites still used the stone circle gate that was located there. As you know Cassie, you’re a estreen. A morpher that is beautiful when changing shape. There use to be a lot more of them a long time ago, not just random as it is now. Escafil was filled with them, in fact it was a small town of Furlings or as you know as Andalites. They had cut off almost all ties to the Andalite home world, which in hindsight was a blessing. Since this Escafil’s community lived on the planet that the plant came from they instinctively over time figured out how to use it naturally to morph. They were working on a different method for the Andalites to use on the home planet.

According to Elfangor who had help from an old Andalite, from the record logs he that came from the shuttle that fled the outpost which was home to Escafil’s young ancestor, a talented Furling went and used the stone circle gate. When he came back he wasn’t alone. At first the Andalite was acting normally but then suddenly all of his eyes started to glow and he spoke in a strange mental voice. The other Andalites noticed he had a strange scar wound on the back of his head. He said he was a servant of Ra, and the Andalites will serve or die. He declared he would bring back glory to his Pharaoh. A group of strange beings in some sort of armor came through before the gate shut.’

Ax paused again as his human companions-in-arms eyes widened. They knew about Ra, they studied him in school. Ax didn’t even connect the evidence until the term Furlings came up. He started again before they could start asking questions.

As he continued to talk, Rachel’s eyes grew harder, not noticing the blood that was bleeding from her shoulder where Tobias gripping her so hard. Cassie’s face was ashed, her mind connecting as fast as Prince Jake’s was, and Marco was completely silent but his hands were shaking.

‘When the shuttle came to the home planet after masking it’s trail so no one could follow, the military sent a fleet to the out post arriving a few weeks after the shuttle left, about two months had passed by then. Everyone was dead, the stone circle gate was missing it’s well you would say keyboard to open it, or at least it looked that way. The red crystal was completely shattered, the Andalites that surround it died first or at least that’s what the decaying indicated. They didn’t want anything else to come through, even if they enjoyed exploring through it. According to our fleet logs, in our section of the galaxy and we looked well after that, it was the only gate around.

Some how, some way, the Furling/Andalite that came out of the wormhole was still alive and morphing rapidly as if whatever made him declare war was trying to get out into a new body that wasn’t dying. He finally morphed into something that had a mouth and a snake like finned creature crawled out. It gave a cry and suddenly the corpses of the enemies was moving.’ Ax’s eyes were distant. ‘There were six other creatures in those bodies. The soldiers that came down killed them all. The creatures weren’t as fast as our tail blades. As the arrogant Andalite lay dying he told his people what happened to him and how to stop more from coming through. This was centuries before Seerow’s Kindness. But it made the Andalites more wary of doing anything outside our species in case they in countered something like that snake fin creature again. Then Seerow who didn’t study history found the Yeerks.’

Cassie had the sense of mind to notice the dripping of blood on the floor during Ax’s talk, so she grabbed the first aid kit they had for injuries and gently got Tobias to let go. He flew up to the raters and gripped the wood until it creaked. His eyes were still fixed on Ax’s main stalks in support. Rachel’s wound was deep, but easily cleaned, stitched and bandaged. Jake’s hands were clasped so tightly his knuckles were white. Marco looked to be deeply thinking.

‘Elfangor wondered why the creature didn’t just get out the way it got in, but the guess is that the Andalite fought back in every morph until it had to give up and go through the mouth. The outpost was abandoned, the stone circle gate buried in such a way that no one else could come through in or out, but it would not work unless you typed in another symbol that only a few of us know if they dug into history that far as a reward. Elfangor passed that knowledge off to me just after he left as a birthday present. He had a weird sense of humor sometimes. Thankfully the host of Vesser 3 didn’t care too much about history. Elfangor told me that there were only less then ten Andalites that knew the extra code to the gate. It was kept buried and secret for a reason. As you know Seerow discovered the Yeerks and pitied the Yeerks. We couldn’t fight two battles so it was forgotten but for a few old historians and the others who loved ancient, ancient history.’

Ax paused. Marco beat out anyone else to blurt out, “Please don’t tell me the guards or soldiers or whatever that came through were human.”

Ax just nodded in confirmation and the room started to fill with almost raised voices. They still had the sense to keep quiet to listen if Cassie’s parents would come by.

“Fuck, just fuck.” Marco’s eyes darkened.

“What do you mean they were human?” Cassie’s asked. It was a good thing she was done sewing up Rachel and not put another wound in her from shock.

Rachel just stared at Jake. “What’s the plan? Where are these creatures?”

Jake was looking sick. “We can’t fight a war on two fronts. We are stretched as it is. We’re barely holding on as it is.” Cassie laid a hand on his shoulder in comfort. Jake squeezed her hand tightly.

‘In that case I have good news.’ Tobias mental voice cut through the panic.

Rachel glanced at him. “Good news?” Her pain meds were kicking in that Cassie gave her so there wasn’t a hurt tone in her voice, just a question. “How so? The people you got the term Furling from?”

‘Yes.’

Tobias gave a quick explanation of the group that was on the beach that afternoon and what they were talking about. After a quick tossing out ideas, Jake gave out his orders, relieved to do something, and everyone scattered in response.

Tobias and Rachel left to keep an eye out for the potential allies as birds, and see if they can spot where they were staying. If so Tobias would keep watch, Rachel had a family dinner with Jake’s family that night.

Jake and Marco went to see if they could get any information about Ra and the rumors of the wormhole extreme tv show had any “truth” from it. They also decided it was best to look up Jackson and the other names as well to see what else tied together.

Cassie was surprised that Ax was lingering. “Why are you still here?” She thought he was going to go with Tobias and Rachel. She had things to do at the farm so she stayed.

‘It is usually our custom to go over Andalite biology after meetings if we are not needed else where.’

Cassie nodded and went to get her notebooks knowing that Ax needed something to distract him from the last meeting. Honestly so did she. Chores could wait.

‘Instead of airborne illnesses, I thought telling you about a Andalite welcoming we do for each birth. We haven’t discussed the pregnancy afterbirth right?’ Ax knew that they had but it was a good topic to discuss. Life not death.

“Nope. What’s the first thing?” Cassie clicked her pen and waited.

Chapter Text

Daniel Jackson was feeling that if he stared at the paper with the Furlings aka Andalite writing any longer his eyes would bleed. He almost whimpered at the thought of abandoning his work, but he needed a break. Sam and Jack were making inroads into the workings of Sharing. He was suspicious of how fast the Sharing found them, but he wasn’t actively looking like the others were, loudly wondering about the organization. It was completely ‘here I am, come get me’ idea. It was Jack’s strategy.

In fact using this ‘strategy’, they came across a local teenager who invited them to dinner with his family to discuss more about the Sharing. He assured them that his family wouldn’t mind the company. His mom’s pot roast was excellent. He had Jack hooked on the word pie. It was a clear set up to the two military officers but if it got them information so be it. Besides Jack pointed out that there was pie!

Teal’c was meditating and decided to stay with Daniel while the other two went to dinner. Less is more and honestly he was still adjusting to Earth customs. It wouldn’t be wise to tip their hand this early. The two leaders of SG1 were adapted at getting information without screwing up.

Daniel crossed over to the balcony with his reheated cup of coffee, well his new cup to be honest. As he leaned against the railing to look at the sunset he sighed. Closing his eyes, he felt the sun and imagined his wife next to him, enjoying the weather that wasn’t as hot as Abydos. He had to get her back. For her sake and his. He missed Sha’re like a missing limb. His heart ached for his father in law, Kasuf losing both his children at once to the Goa'uld.

Daniel turned his head into the breeze, opened his eyes and almost dropped his coffee. He blinked a few times and rubbed his eyes, shifting his coffee cup from hand to hand. Ok, so the red tailed hawk was still perched on the table on his balcony staring at him with golden eyes. Not at all like the Goa'uld eyes. Daniel looked at the hawk more carefully. He almost poke the bird but refrained. He didn’t want to get bite.

He had a suspicious feeling that this was the bird that was following the group all afternoon. In fact as Teal’c pointed out in a low voice when they were waiting for the keys to their rooms, enjoying the sunshine, wasn’t there a bald eagle that kept pace with it? It was obvious to Teal’c who hunted, that the birds were hanging out together, and according to his studies of birds of Earth that was completely wrong. His constant habit of keeping look out was handy.

Daniel tried to keep calm but his hand kept shaking his full cup of coffee. He yelped as the hot liquid burned his hand and finally set down his cup on the table. He turned as Teal’c come up behind him hearing the yell. “Daniel Jackson is anything amiss?”

“Nope, just the strange bird that kept an eye on us all day, and I burnt my hand from the excitement or endless coffee. Can’t tell which. Keep an eye on it will you? I need to fix my hand.” Daniel left, praying that the bird didn’t fly off.

**

When Daniel left, Tobias was stuck with the largest male human he ever encountered. He found himself walking backwards and flexing his wings. He took off into the air and settled on the railing so he had more room to maneuver if he could.

Tobias knew he was taking a risk getting closer, but as he noticed the look in Daniel’s eyes as he was on the balcony, he recognized it. So he responded and he was left with the stranger human.

The man’s deep voice made him start into flight. “Good strategy getting better distance to strike if necessary. My mentor would approve.” Tobias couldn’t look away from the giant’s deep brown eyes. “I am called Murray here on Earth but I am Teal’c to friends. What is your name Furling Andalite?”

Teal’c could feel that there was no ill will from the bird, usually he could sense his enemies, like he cautioned O’Neil and Carter before they set out for dinner. It was a trait picked up from many battles and how he sensed he could trust O’Neill the first time they met. He did not notice anything what he picked up from the young teenager Tom. It wasn’t always accurate but for the most part he was right by the sensing.

Tobias was at a loss for words, of all things to happen he did not expect this at all. ‘Um.’

Teal’c just smiled. It was a scary thing. Tobias held off a whimper of fear. Daniel came back with a bandaged hand, looked at Teal’c smiling face and just sighed.

“Let’s take this inside.”

Daniel blinked at the sudden absence of the bird into the room. That bird moved fast. Teal’c just chuckled. ‘Ah that was it.’

**

Jack O’Neill studied the joint with a battle honed mind and eyes. As for a evil lair or the entrance to a evil lair, a well kept house in a nice neighborhood was not what he had in mind. Carter discreetly elbowed his side as she said in a low voice. “Sir, try not to look like you’re going to take the place apart. I don’t think Tom’s parents would appreciate that.”

She jumped as a sharp voice commented behind her, “No my Uncle would not like that. But if you want to take a place apart, I suggest the shed out back it’s in terrible shape.”

Sam spun to see a young beautiful blonde hair, blue eyed teenager girl gazing at her with veteran eyes. Sam didn’t notice the rest of the family that came behind her slip into the house. Jack was making introductions for himself and her but Sam had only eyes for the younger blonde. It was almost looking into a mirror but not.

“Sam.” Sam jumped, “Sorry sir. What?” Sam noticed the amused expression on her commander’s face.

“Stop cloud gathering out there and let’s eat. My stomach is going to eat my foot.” Jack complained as the younger blond introduced herself as Rachel. He also noticed besides herself, her cousin Jake had the same kind of eyes that Sam noticed. The rest of the family if you didn’t count Tom, based off of Teal’c observation, seemed normal. The kid had a one track mind, the sharing.

“Not possible Jack.” He cut her off before she even started on her scientific reasons why it wasn’t possible.

“Nope, none of your science stuff here. I don’t think anyone could keep up, even if it is about the digestive system.” Jack made a funny face that had the younger kids laughing as they all sat down at the long dining room table.

As the food was being passed around, Jake’s dad asked. “Are you two military? I mean you scream military or at least to people who served. My dad served and taught me to spot them.” He grinned at them. “It’s been a while since I had military at my table. What branch are you?”

“Air Force.” Sam responded as Jack as moaning in delight at his first bite of the pot roast and making the kids, besides Tom, Jake and Rachel laugh again.

“Flyers huh? I took a ride once from one of dad’s buddies, they named me puky Smith after that.”

Jack and Sam laughed. “It’s not for everyone. But nothing beats flying.” Jack commented as he took another helping of mashed potatoes. He noticed that Rachel and Jake seemed to brighten at those words as if in agreement.

Tom was too busy eating to notice as he started to steer the conversation to the great wonderful work the Sharing did. For once, he didn’t get far because the family and their guests started to bond over boot camp stories and high jinks Sam and Jack got into while his dad recycled the old grandpa stories again. The visitors didn’t seem to mind.

The other kids rolled their eyes at the instant bonding but let the adult conversation roll over them as they started their own. Once the talk of the military died down and pie was served, Rachel’s family left.

Rachel asked to stay behind because Jake and her had a homework project to do together. Jack noted that lie was terrible. Might have been true, but it was made up at the drop of the hat. If he had a hat.

Jack noticed the basketball hoop as they lingered before saying goodbye, “Carter would you care for a game against the young people?” He needed more Intel and a game would work wonders for talking.

Carter grinned as Rachel matched her grin, their competitive spirits rising. Jake shrugged sure. “Tom, let’s play. You used to be an awesome player before you started to be involved with the sharing and couldn’t play anymore.” Point one to Jack, now that was interesting. Yeerk on the brain?

**

Tobias was starting to regret getting Daniel’s attention earlier. The man could not stop asking questions that he really couldn’t answer. Ax could answer, but hum. An excellent way to see if these people were Yeerks or just regular guys. Teal’c just was waiting patiently. Tobias wished he had his talent.

**

Jake called his friend Marco to play on the old people team to make it three on three since his came out and decided to be score keeper. Carter and her CO exchanged a quick glance when Marco showed up. Marco had the same eyes as Rachel and Jake. For an maybe alien pod person Tom did not. All Goa'uld fought, if you counted the Jaffa, but did all Yeerks?

Then the game was on. Tom seemed twitchy, like he didn’t know how to play or did at one point and then in another dropped the ball just before he was going to make a score. It was like Tom was two people. The changes were slight, and Tom laughed it off as being rusty but to Jack and Sam, well they had experience in such matters and it seemed more and more like Tom was a Yeerk.

That and he could not stop going on and on about how great and wonderful the Sharing was. Tom hinted in many different ways that his brother, his friends and Jack and Sam needed to join or at least check it out before they left town.

Jack was thankful that he had training to keep a calm face but dang, lay it on a bit thick wasn’t Tom? Jack felt his eye starting to twitch. He wanted to Zat the kid. He might if Tom kept it up.

Thankfully his team won the game, even if Jake seemed to have a good head for strategy. It helped Jack not do anything rash.

About thirty minutes after Tobias got Daniel and Teal’c’s attention to follow him he was flying fast toward Ax’s scope, calling out he was bring visitors. Two of the ones that were on the beach that afternoon. But as much as he wanted to dump the information nerd off with his uncle he wasn’t that stupid. He gave them a merry chase through the woods, closer to the Hork-Bajir camp then Ax’s place, but not that close.

Tobias had a feeling he wasn’t fooling anyone, as Teal’c kept chuckling with his stern face and Daniel was happily humming to himself, but keeping a hand on a gun. After a bit, Tobias stopped in a very high lone way out of the way clearing and waited in one of the trees.

‘Tobias what is the meaning of this?’ Ax asked privately from the trees beside him.

‘Daniel was asking so many questions about the Andalite culture, society and so much that I couldn't even understand half of what he was even asking. I didn’t even get out my name at all! I couldn’t even speak. It was ridiculous! Please help. How Daniel even knew that he was talking to an intelligent life-form I’ll never know.’

‘Nephew, if this goes badly or not we are going to have a very long discussion about this. Since you’re family.’ Ax grumbled and then directed his voice towards the slightly bouncing man who settled down when his companion touched his shoulder briefly.

The largest black man Ax had ever seen had a strange gun in his hands that Tobias informed him that once they started hiking deeper into the woods and no one could see them he took it out. That was interesting and clearly not Earth technology.

One way to find out if they were friends or foes. ‘I am Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill. I speak on the behalf of my prince.’ He totally did not, but what could he do? ‘Speak your terms or die.’ Ax walked into the clearing his tail blade held high ready to strike, all his eyes scanning for more danger. At least Tobias was smart and had a very high away from people place for the meeting. Tobias assured him that he’ll keep a look out for danger.

Ax expected to fight these humans, ever since he noticed something was wrong with the huge man. He didn’t expect the high pitched squeal that came out of the glass wearing man’s mouth and the sudden on slot of rapid questions. Ok so maybe something was wrong with the one called Daniel as Tobias told him their names since Daniel didn’t let anyone else speak.

Ax blinked his eyes and slowly lowered his tail blade. He dimly notice the one that Tobias called Teal’c ask to be put on patrol as well stepping out of the clearing without the non-stop talking human.

‘Daniel stop.’

Daniel paused and then asked “How did you know my name?”

‘Tobias was kind enough to inform me.’ Daniel grabbed the name like a lifeline, his notebook open and ready.

“Tobias is an earth name. Did the Furlings, no sorry Andalites breed with humans at one point and that’s why we can’t find anything on them anywhere?” Daniel had a painfully hopeful look on his face.

Ax suddenly understood the earth expression kicking one’s self. He really wanted to do that but all he could say was, ‘That’s classified and I would need to get permission from my prince.’

Daniel noted, “I thought you already had permission from your prince. Did Tobias act without orders?”

His notebook which he was drawing a accurate picture of Ax was suddenly out of his hands as Tobias, if he was the bird, grabbed it from him. “Hey, that’s mine.”

“Yes Daniel, but Tobias and Ax are keeping it for a while. While you were talking Ax’s ears off, Tobias and I came to an agreement. We shall see them again. We need to get to sleep.”

Teal’c frog-marched the protesting Daniel back towards town.

Ax cased an eye at his nephew. ‘Tobias you have much explaining to do.’

‘Totally not my fault. Daniel talks more then Marco after a sugar high. What else should I have done?’

‘Obeyed Prince Jake’s order. I am not looking forward to the next meeting. Which is tonight correct?’

‘Yes. I’m going to hunt and I’ll meet you there later.’

Chapter Text

The thing that surprised people about Daniel Jackson the most was that he had an excellent sense of direction while on Earth. Give him some stars, some landmarks and boom he could navigate through a snowstorm or at least a sandstorm, before and after the fact. You had to be a good navigator when you lived in a place that kept sifting every few minutes or hours. On and off the planet.

As his team slept, Daniel woke up naturally an hour before the crack of dawn, and when he wanted to do something, he could work fast. So when Teal’c woke up at dawn, he swore bitterly at the note that Daniel left stating, ‘Went to find the Andalite, will be back for lunch. Have weapons, don’t worry. I’ll be fine.’

Teal’c ignored the urge to squeeze his fingers to his nose and went to inform the rest of the team that Daniel was A.W.O.L. again for the who knows how many times.

There was much swearing to be had after breakfast that morning. Teal’c had the instinct to provide food before informing the rest of his team of their missing teammate. Even more swearing when Sam discovered a hike sponsored by the Sharing was going to be in the area that Daniel was searching for the Andalite was in. Pamphlets were awesome things, so they signed up with a quick phone call.

Unknown to them Jake and his friends had the same idea since Tobias came to him in a panic when he noticed that Daniel Jackson was heading to the Hork-Bajir colony. Daniel was too far into the hike to be persuaded to turn around when Ax accidentally mentioned them. Ax regretted it ever since. It just urged the man on.

Three hours after everyone got up, they found themselves paired up with their hiking buddy.

“So do you like hockey?” Jack asked in a attempt to start a conversation with Jake, who along with Rachel and their friend Phil decided to join in. He wondered briefly where Marco was.

Surprisingly enough Teal’c or Murray seemed to get along with their friend Phil like two peas in a pod, or as Jack suspected two aliens in a pod. Phil clearly needed human lessons since he tried to eat leaves off of the trees asking if it was a maple. His playing with his sounds was to at least Jack, a dead give away. He hadn’t heard that much experimentation since his son Charlie was learning how to speak.

“No, I’m not much of a hockey fan.”

Jack sighed loudly as he exchanged glances with Sam who was walking with Rachel. ‘I’ll be a long day. Darn you Daniel!!’

Tom butted in on his second attempt to engage in conversation with Jake, which was going well, he liked the Simpsons too. Tom, not so much.

Jack wondered what would happen if he ‘accidentally’ zapped him. No harm done right?

In the elevator going down to the SGC headquarters Robert Kinsey’s hands twitched, then paused and started to twitch again. He brushed it off as a nervous tic for the past a few days, but in reality, Robert Kinsey was swearing up a storm since he had no control what so ever and no one even knew!

‘Oh do suck it up human. I’m in control for the rest of your feeble life and I am in your court. I don’t want the star-gate to get into the wrong hands either.’ Yeerk H652 was pleased with his assignment.

He was volunteered to host this senator, the first one to get infected ever but it would take a while. Visser 1 and 3 wanted to keep a very low profile until they knew everything about the government. Yeerk H652 didn’t inform anyone about the SGC because he wanted an ace up his sleeve in-case he was demoted. He had plans.

**
Daniel on the other hand was having the time of his life. He ignored his feathered guard Tobias and was writing as much as Toby, the leader of her colony would tell him in his notebook. SG1 might even find the Hork-Bajir home world and free it or something.

“Now what kind of bark did you say cures illnesses?”

Tobias twitched. It was going to be a long, long, long day.

Yeerk H652 was not pleased with his assignment at all. Not now. He had it up to there with Senator Kinsey’s whining and he decided to switch as soon as he was done with the visit to SGC. Then he entered the base. At first he was escorted to Dr. Frasier for a new form of testing that they had to do for all people that entered the base. Then more alarmingly he was escorted to a guest room and ask to wait while they got the General. He heard a lock click shut on the door.

He spend six hours doing nothing, mostly sleeping since the old man was boring him. H652 was still convinced that his cover wasn’t blown. They haven’t even heard of the Yeerks!

A loud pounding rose Yeerk H652 out of a dreamless sleep. Dr. Janet Fraiser came in alone, shut and locked the door behind her, leaning against it to say, “Well you’re the Yeerk that the high command decided to use to infiltrate the government? So sad. You see, unknown to the Council of Thirteen, Visser 1 and 3, I was one of the first Yeerk to use a human body, I am Visser 1’s twin, Esplin 9466 Lesser.”

Robert felt a surge of hope, while H652 felt terror. “You, you’re dead. We all saw the evidence! You’re completely dead.”

Dr. Fraiser smirked, the expression quite unused to being on her face. “Nope, I survived. You see, Joe Bob Fenestre, my former host, was gaining power and popularity so my brother wanted me dead. But before he could do so we were blindsided in a car accident. The first person on the scene was a young Dr. Fraiser, when she tried to do CPR to my host I successfully into her head. We been together ever since. How you say? Dr. Fraiser is a doctor and a scientist, she invented a mini-sun device, we’re close to getting rid of the it for good, but then you and your ill kind showed up at our door.”

Before H652 could even blink the last thing he saw as he was zapped into unconsciousness was Dr. Fraiser zapping herself, twice.

*
Janet Frasier slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was in the infirmary. General Hammond was standing over her with a look of concern. He handed her a glass with water and a straw. “Don’t try to speak, your nurses say and the other staff at hand say that your system has had quite a shock. What the hell were you thinking?”

“I was thinking I had to get that Yeerk out of my head. Sir.” Janet said hoarsely but firmly, after gulping down some water and a few minutes for her mouth to work.

General Hammond sighed. “I would like to put you up for a promotion for the hell you have been in, but since we’re still trying to keep this thing under wraps, I’ll hold off. I’m pleased to note that Senator Robert Kinsey is now firmly on our side of the situation. Clearly being stuck as a nonintervention in his own mind for a few months changed his tune. I won’t ask how long you were stuck or how in the world you didn’t get caught. I’ll leave that up to your debriefing, after you get some rest. That’s an order.”

Janet successfully snagged his sleeve before General Hammond could go. “Please send in my daughter. I need to see Cassie.” Her voice sounded rough as if she haven’t spoken in a while.

George smiled, and nodded.

Janet fought off sleep but finally slept without a Yeerk in her mind.

**
Teal’c ran swiftly next to Phil or as he called himself Ax out of earshot of the humans and controllers. Teal’c was successful during the lunch break to speak his thoughts to Jack and Jack agreed. So now Ax and Teal’c at different times got out of the hike and now were swiftly moving towards Daniel and the colony.

Teal’c felt a strong kinship with the young Andalite warrior. His journey mirrored his own, but for his trading sides. Ax was running swiftly, Teal’c easily keeping pace with the Andalite. Ax was pleased to not have to slow down his stride, it was a long time since someone could keep up with him.

‘I would be honored if you would fight next to me in battle. Your tell of this team is similar to my own.’

Teal’c nodded, and kept running.

Notes:

I hope this update satisfies. *rubs hands together and crackles with glee* I have now an idea slightly of how long Janet Frasier got stuck with her Yeerk and who else has one connected to the Stargate Program. As for Daniel and his high jinks, darn you, I'm a bit stuck. Poor SG1/Animorphs they are still stuck on the hike with no where to go!

Chapter 6

Professor Henry McClellan aka Gafinilan-Estrif-Valad former fighter pilot of the Andalite Military was taking a very rare vacation for himself. His Shorm (best friend), Mertil-Iscar-Elmand urged him to go and spend time outside of his duties to himself and his income making. Mertil dryly pointed out if he couldn’t go anywhere as he couldn’t, due to his allergy to the morphing technology, Gaffinilan should and bring back some good memories to share. So in spite of himself, Gaffinilan went.

Admittedly the four day vacation in the nearby forest park did him some good and he was happy to stretch his Andalite legs since he hadn’t run or been in his natural form for quite sometime outside of his dwelling. Bickering voices made him slow down and wish for some sort of weapon. His tail blade was well and good but his natural form screamed alien. For Mertil’s well being, he had to keep a low profile, so just in case he morphed back into his human for and quickly got dressed before nosily making his way toward the human voices.

The humans paused in their conversation and turned towards the young dark skinned, buzz cut, professor looking man who was carrying a black backpack along with a hiking stick. “Don’t tell me you’re lost.” Gaffinilan said amused as the military older couple exchanged quick glances as the three younger ones who by their bone structure seemed to be related.

“Sadly yes. We were on a hiking trip with the Sharing and someone had to stop and see the sights. I am Tom, this is my cousin Rachel and my younger brother Jake. ” Tom’s Yeerk was very annoyed. He was hoping to snag the military couple who had come to his house for hosts, he had a Dracon beam on him, but it was modified to knock out people on different setting as killing them slowly wouldn’t be beneficial to his plans. But if his plan didn’t work well that’ll work just fine.

The rest of his group quickly introduced themselves as the newcomer seemed interested in the adults more then the younger set. At least he seemed interested in Sam as Jack somehow had a yo-yo and was playing with it.

“I am Professor Henry McClellan.” At that the blonde woman who introduced herself as Sam Carter, lit up and asked, “The professor who wrote that paper on how electrical engineering could change the future? That professor?” Gaffinilan nodded wary as the name Sam Carter rang a faint bell in the back of his mind.

Jack held back a groan as Sam quickly got into a heated argument with Professor McClellan, who to his credit after being taken back quickly got into the spirit of things and was talking patiently as he guided them towards the hiking trail which was quite a ways away. As the day went on, after a few hours before and after lunch, the hiking group slowly dropped down to just a few instead of the twenty-five strong that started out.

Marco was the eye in the sky since Tobias wasn’t available. Cassie were the second to drop out after Phil and Murray left, along with a few teenagers who got in trouble for goofing off and had to be lead back with a few adults to the staging area. In reality, the animorphs were covering and searching for Daniel while the Sharing had split up some to go feed and others to search the woods for the so called spotting of the Andalite a few days before. According to Teal’c information Daniel was deep in the woods and quite a ways from the hiking trail. Usually Jack and Sam wouldn’t get lost but Tom was all kinds of distracting and a constant twitch took up resistance in Jack’s gun hand.

Tom slowly but carefully eased his way to the back of the group and waited for a good time to take out his targets. His hands kept shaking and jerking away from his Dracon beam as the real Tom fought to keep him from hurting his little brother or anyone else.

There was a point were Tom had the perfect opportunity to shoot, but just as his hand pulled the trigger, it jerked so the shot went wide and abetted into a tree instead. Tom’s eyes could only widen for a second before Jack’s zap blast knocked him off his feet into the dirt, quite a few paces away from the hiking trail.

“Dang it sir.” Sam moved towards were Tom was to check his vitals, but paused as two impossible things happened. One, the body jerked, so Jack shot Tom again then a slug like creature oozed out of his right ear and curled onto itself as it died, and two, Jake pushed her away as he slapped his brother away, impossible hope shinning out of his eyes.

“Tom?” Jake asked, not caring that his voice was breaking or that everyone knew about the Yeerks or possible their cover was blown.

Tom’s blue eyes blinked opened as he tried to sit up, but only could with his brother’s help. “J, Jake?” His voice was rusty and his eyes involuntarily swelled with tears.

“Tom.” Jake almost cried.

Everyone was startled when they heard a voice in their heads. ‘How did you know about the Yeerk in that human’s head? Who are you all? That’s not any kind of technology I know of.’ Everyone’s head turned towards the narrow eyed professor who had rapidly turned into a pissed of Andalite who had Rachel as a hostage with his tail-blade on her throat. ‘Tell me now or the tail blade of Gafinilan-Estrif-Valad will end this human’s life.’ No one had been paying attention to the Professor as what happened to Tom had caught everyone’s notice.

***

Janet was slowly opening, closing her eyes, moving her fingers, doing everything a person who didn’t have control of her body could do. Janet was stretching her arms over her head when she caught sight of Cassie and a huge smile lit up her face.

Cassie slammed her body against her mom’s and started to cry. Janet lifted her hand to her daughter’s head and strokes it murmuring words of comfort.

“You’re really back. I knew something was off, but I just couldn’t see what was off.” Cassie said once her tears were spend.

“You could tell?” Janet said.

“Please, it took a while but I noticed that there slight differences between you and that slug that had taken over your body, but I wasn’t sure what it was. It just at times you seemed to care more deeply about me then others. I started to keep track, it seemed like it was every other week but”

“It was every three days. My smart loving daughter. The Yeerk, though slug is a good word to use, had to maintain his ‘Janet’ disguise but at the times were I could be completely myself, I used it and you noticed. I was hoping to get a change to strike back but,” Janet’s voice turned dry. “Ironically it was Senator Kinsey who helped with that. It was a educated guess, one that I thought before, but I never tried it because it could have gone very wrong. I’m thankful it didn’t.”

The next half hour Janet got acquainted with her daughter all over again while asking and answering questions that her nurses and the man who stepped into her role until she was cleared for duty since she had been held captive for years.

Senator Kinsey stepped into Janet’s recovery room just after Cassie left with a hopeful expression on her tear tracked face.

He opened his mouth and then closed it again. Janet held up her hand when he tried to speak. “Let’s just call ourselves even Senator. I saved your life and you saved mine. You are staying for my debriefing?”

“I can agree to that. Yes.” Robert Kinsey nodded to the woman who freed him and left to get some good coffee, not the stuff that his slug/Yeerk thought was good. Ugh. He couldn’t wait to get some good coffee.

Sorry this chapter took so long but I got completely stuck but now I have an outline for the next chapter after this. Thank you all for hanging in there. Now to try and plot out the rest of the story.

Chapter 7

Summary:

Plans are set into motion

Chapter Text

Chapter 7

A small osprey was racing against time and mentally sighed in relief on finding his prey. Marco landed near by and shattered the stand off between a mentally pissed of Rachel, a frozen Sam who was reaching for the Dracon ray, and Jack who aimed the zap gun at all of them.

‘As much as I’m enjoying this stand off we don’t have time. Jake we have five incoming a few miles out and closing fast.’

Jake whipped his head around and found Marco fluttering in place but shot off as soon as he got his orders. “Go back and keep an eye on them tell me when they are a half mile out. Rachel stay here with the Andalite and keep them off our trail.” Jake grinned wickedly at his cousin. “Try out that new morph, maybe you’ll like it better then the elephant. The rest follow me, we can sort this out at the colony. Report back when you’re done.”

Jack and the Professor found themselves eyeing the kid Jake whose eyes had sharped into cold slits, their weapons lowing at the orders that came from Jake’s mouth. They were reasonable after all.

A faint. ‘On it fearless leader Prince Jake.’ came back on the breeze. Jack and Sam were still trying to get over the voice speaking in their heads when Prince Jake rolled his eyes as he eyed the rest.
“Anyone know how to ride a horse?”

Tom groaned at the question when Sam responded “Yes sir.”

Jack started to snicker but had to go puke in the bushes when Jake and Rachel started morphing as Sam wincing a bit, looking green but her scientist eyes taking it all in.

Gafinilan-Estrif-Valad had lowered his tail blade in complete shock as Tom called out weakly, “Wait I have a better idea.”

Tom couldn’t hold off the shudder he gave when his plan was approved by his little brother. Five minutes later all but Tom, Gafin and ‘call me Jack’ were racing away towards safely, a herd of one horse with a human, rest birds of prey.

“Are you sure that these are like you?” Jack said as he waited behind a tree as Tom acted like he was hurt, which considering what happened didn’t take much.

“Some of them, others kill on sight I’m sorry to say. They don’t care about humanity being free. They’re selfish bastards, we’ll see who comes. I’ll try and point them out.”

Chapter Text

Chapter 8

Samantha Carter was pouting, not that anyone could tell since Teal’c and Daniel wasn’t there, Jack with a look ordered her to go, as her mind was busy with this new alien weapon and how it worked.

The kids, no min-soldiers, the thought made Sam ache in grief for their childhood innocence, were focused on getting to this ‘colony’.

Then her attentive was completely fixed onto the amazing place she found herself. She had to laugh at the sight of Daniel being Daniel.

If a hawk could looked exhausted and frustrated at the same time, it was that one who was if her mind was hearing right was grumbling. That must be Tobias.
Daniel caught sight of her, “Oh Sam you wouldn’t believe what just happened!”

Tobias slumped, ‘Oh thank you! I’m off to hunt.’

Sam thought it was just to get out of Daniel’s nonstop talking. She didn’t blame him.

“Now what?” She thought out loud.

“We wait.” Rachel said with a growl but she softened when Tobias landed on her shoulder. Marco had become human again and was teasing Cassie who started to pace once she became human.

Daniel tilted his head a certain way which Sam recognized. They went across the clearing within eyesight but not, hopefully hearing.

Daniel had an unusual serious look on his face, “Your brother has connections with other police throughout the country right? Tobias and I were talking about family and he has a mom somewhere. Apparently he’s the uncle of Ax. His home life was not great. If push comes to shove I might end up adopting him. I sense a kinship with him. After,” Daniel stopped talking as Sam knew he was thinking about Sha'uri and his endless search that ended in tragedy.

“But that’s up to him. At least now we have a name to go on. Loren Smith Fangor, wife of Alan Fangor. Her sibling are nasty pieces of work, just like my foster homes.” Daniel said dryly.

“I’ll see what I can do. If she got injured in any way maybe that’s why she hasn’t been around.” Sam frowned, suddenly smelling BBQ smoke.

Jack’s voice suddenly came through her trip down memory lane to realize that in fact, it wasn’t ten years earlier but ten years later and she was officially burning the monthly BBQ.

“This is why I am in charge of it.” Jack said as he hip pushed Sam out of the way and saved the day.

“Any of the kids here yet?” Sam asked in return as her husband sighed as he had to do quick work to save whatever Sam had been doing. That was Senator Robert Kinsey's doing. A sort of thank you. It was amazing how much of a turn around that guy did. It was probably because he was a unwilling host.

“I hear the slam of car doors now and the sound of the bickering young.” Jacob or was it Selmak quipped.

The kids were the nickname that the team gave the animorphs since after a Chee, a high form android, the Erak Chee who Sam had been working with since day one of his introduction into the Stargate program, came to warn the Animorphs about the other brain slugs like aliens who wanted to take over Earth.

“I can’t believe that joke worked. I mean it worked, but” Daniel was saying as his second wife, Loren, Tobias’s mother who they found and help heal her mind and body using the tech they had, put a peach pie on the groaning food table in the backyard of the O'Neil's expanded lake house.

“No who would have thought two separate races that had the same goals would turn on each other?! Completely shocking!” Rachel Fangor deadpanned as Tobias had somehow got stuck with Uncle duty as he lead his little adorable toddler niece, Anna to her grandma, Janet Fraiser who praised her walking.

“That and having the Yeerk Peace movement letting the species know that their territory was being threatened. The wormhole to the Taxxons homeworld really help speed up things. Who would have thought that the Taxxons would jump at the chance to become endangered species of Earth? Not to mention the other Yeerks?”

“It probably helped that we had tight, tight, tight control over the morphing cube.” Jake who grinned at the cheers after Cassie showed them her engagement ring. He ignored his cousin’s ‘finally’ comment.

“That and mom tried to get into the SG1 program.” Marco said as he snagged a hot dog from the grill. He was just grateful that his dad’s thing with Nora went nowhere.

“Many things could have gone wrong. But did not.” Ax said eyeing the napkins thoughtfully. Not to eat them per say, Cassandra had weaned him off of that habit but on the other hand, wood could be eaten if prepared properly.

He’ll ask Teal’c when he came. He will know.

Ax was distracted by a cupcake thrown at his face. The world was at peace, or at least enough to relax once in a while and life went on.

That is until the quantum mirror turned on and Loran Fangor walked through asking for help to save her husband Alan. But that’s another story all together.
