Chapter 1: Anxious_Muu
Chapter Text
Anxious_Muu : I'm not so sure if this would be considered a request, and i mean no offense. But i would love if there were more focus on Namjoon and Hoseok and the pain they had to endure. Especially Namjoon since i feel like he's a completely different person (which all of them have become) but for him especially since he used to look after all the members and had infinite trust in everyone.
Until now, i've been reading your story silently and just leaving kudos. I'm kind of feeling awkward to just comment so excuse that ;w;
Anyways, good luck with the story going forward! I'll look towards future updates! And i hope Sandra's health improves :)
Kaelyngrey: Namjoon and Hoseok are going to become more of a focus for sure, and their story will play out heavily in fic 2 where we will see all of the pains and traumas that they endured during their time in hell. Unfortunately Kidnapped has to wind down somewhere and there just weren’t enough chapters to hold all the pain, but fic 2 has lots of healing moments and moments of truth and it is in those moments that Namjoon and Hobi will really shine!
Thank you for leaving a comment!
Chapter 2: Victorious/victorious_mind
Chapter Text
Victorious:
I was thinking about a story about what would have happened if the members (including Jimin) realized what was happening to Tae waaaaay before things got worse.
Like when Sven was abusing him, Tae was still hiding everything but the betrayal and other....things hadn't happened yet.
I meant like that one scene when they're fighting and Jin slaps Tae and Jimin and Tae fight. If they found out everything in that chapter, about how Tae was being abused and how he was doing it to protect them, then it wouldn't have come to this point. They would all be a little more sane probably since they would start giving Tae support and try to protect him. So I was wondering if you could write something of that sort, like a canon-divergence in your own fic?
I would especially be curious about Yoongi's, Jimin's, Jungkook's and Jin's reaction!
Of course, no pressure at all, this is just an offer, an idea so please do as you want! Of course I'll be happy if you wrote it but I won't be angry or upset if you didn't!
I'm just wondering how things would have ended up had the realization came early. I think they would have stayed as a whole and healed somewhat? And Yoongi would turn back a bit into his original self when he learns what happened/is happening to Tae?
I don't know, that's why I'm asking, I'm curious!
Lots of love!!!
Kaelyngrey: I think that this, somewhere, would be an amazing story to entertain, and I will definitely try to keep an open mind on it for later, but for now a story of this magnitude just isn’t feasible.
Taehyung really is a huge catalyst for such much that happens in this story, and if things had happened differently in terms of the members realizing earlier on, I’m not sure how many of them (if any) would have made it out alive.
Taehyung ultimately made the decision to do what he did because he saw Jimin failing and he could see that his brothers were in danger of being split up, sold off, and killed. I firmly believe that no one would have been able to stop him or change his mind.
I do agree that if the members had found out in that scene they would have tried to protect Tae, but just as what happened with Namjoon when he tried to save and protect Jimin, his members would have been punished and possibly killed for that and that is something that Taehyung simply would not have allowed. I think in this instance everyone actually would have been less sane, and that is sad too. Ultimately Tae is going to do what Tae wants to do, and even if the other members had supported him, I don’t see it having been any easier on any of them.
Yoongi…I just don’t know. I think he would have turned in on himself and blamed himself even more for not being able to protect Tae and for pushing him into the arms of a monster.
Jungkook…I mean…he knows Taehyung. He gets him. So while he probably would not have agreed with what was going on he would have understood and would have done everything in his power to support him.
As the eldest member, Jin would probably feel a deep sense of failure. It is his job to protect everyone in the group, and he really seems to favor Tae a lot (as they all do). I think he may have tried to turn to Mathan more, or pushed harder to get them free, but as we will see Sven is not really a force to be reckoned with so that may be a very interesting dynamic to explore later on.
I honestly think this revelation would have been highly detrimental to the group as a whole. In this situation they would have been more likely to bring on their own doom. ‘Ignorance is bliss’, as they say. Yoongi would probably have been a different kind of monster, but a monster none the less, and I honestly see him getting himself killed trying to protect Tae, which would not have helped anyone and would have driven Tae to a guilt ridden death of his own.
I hoped this help answer some of your questions in the meantime! Thank you so much for this idea!!!
Kaelyn!
Victorious: A second idea, which is a bit horrifying actually, I don't know why I'm giving you these evil ideas but anyways.... I actually thought a scene like this would appear in your fic going by some words certain characters said and foreshadowing but I guess I thought wrong since it didn't appear soo here is what I was expecting would happen in some chapter back...
Since Sven has a hold on both Jimin and Taehyung, what if Sven had brought them together in one room and beat/ abused Tae in front of Jimin as a punishment for Jimin when he didn't listen to him. Like Taehyung never fights back against Sven or says no to anything he asks, always listens to him, so Sven would taunt Jimin telling him that this is how he wants him to be......showing Taehyung as an example.....oops
-
Anyways like I mentioned before, these are all ideas and don't ever be compelled to write them if you don't like them or don't want to write them! I'll like it if you did but I won't curse you or get upset if you didn't (how could I >.<)
Sending lots of love
Kaelyngrey: As I already said, something akin to this is coming in Chapter 68, and I hope that it is to your liking. If it is not, we can work something else up then J
Chapter 3: kthpjm
Chapter Text
Kthpjm: I love this spin off idea, I dont write but I like to plan stories out in my head and there's always different ways they can develop and it's so hard to choose which one to commit too. So this allows you to indulge that!
I'd like to see a story line of what would happen if Sven took tae and jimin back to Russia. There was a line a few chapters ago about tae teaching jimin how to play. I think it would be really interesting if Sven made tae dom jimin. But tae would try and do it in the gentlest way possible without making Sven angry. Cos tae is experienced and very forward but Sven still always doms him. I can imagine Sven wanting to see what Tae would be like if he was given the position of power instead. Sven would never allow tae to do it to him but I think he'd like to watch tae do it to jimin as a turn on. Cos jimin is innocent and more submissive than tae. Meanwhile tae would try and help jimin out, make it less painful and even pleasurable for him... just an idea that I've been thinking about but am not talented enough to write!
Kaelyngrey: As for this idea, this is completely doable, and something we may be able to fit in part 2 somewhere. It may even be along the lines of something I already have in my notes, kekeke.
Sven is very possessive though, so he would never allow his pets to touch one another because he hates people touching his things, as has and will continue to be evidenced in our story, so VMin will never happen in front of him unless the both of them want to die. And…(spoiler redacted).
I hope you are happy with what I come up with in part 2 and I hope that you stay with this entire trilogy until the end!
Kthpjm: Okay wait one more idea, similar to this or before this scene. It could actually be a really sweet one where they're on their way to Russia. And jimin and tae know that when they get there Sven is going to take jimin's virginity. So tae goes to mentally prepare jimin for what's about to happen to him. And then jimin asks tae to take his virginity first so that his first time is with someone he loves and not Sven. So tae does and it's really soft and gentle
Also sorry for spamming you, I in no way expect your to write these I've literally just got carried away with brain storming!
Kaelyngrey: Unfortunately due to things that are already written (and will be posted very soon), this one will not work as a spin-off either L
Kthpjm: Or... and this is a slightly more evil route but just another headcanon i had. I'd be interested to see a scene where after tae has told Sven about the escape and the things jimin said about Sven. And then after jimin and tae's fight. If Sven decided to punish jimin, by caning or something again but he brings tae along too and makes him watch as an example to jimin of how a good boy behaves. And tae can't say anything or stop Sven because then he would expose himself. Or to make it really evil Sven afterwards makes jimin pleasure tae has a punishment to him and reward to tae. But also to test tae's loyalty
Then Sven leaves them together assuming theyre going to fight. But instead they both apologise to each other because they realise now that neither one of them could ever have wanted to hurt the other like this. these are just the consequences of trying to play a man more experienced than them. So they resolve to take Sven down together. Playing to their strengths to manipulate Sven, this time successfully! Yay and then they escape!
Kaelyngrey: Again, due to Sven’s possessive nature, this kind of idea would never work. Sven would not allow Jimin to sully himself by having to touch such a valueless piece of property as Tae. Sven would kill Tae for touching his perfect jewel.
Sven will also not scar his property even more than he already has, and as we will see in part 2, a lot of things happened in Kidnapped that have yet to be revealed. Taehyung would also not hesitate to expose himself and put himself in danger if it meant saving his brothers.
Also, as will be evidenced, Jimin is not a personality type that could literally take someones life no matter how much he plotted to do so.
Kthpjm: Or! Okay and this is my last one which I just thought of! Gregor takes tae again to abuse him but this time he brings jimin because he thinks that's what jimin wants. But obvisouly jimin doesnt. He begs gregor to stop but when he realiaes that he wont he knows he has to save tae himself so he kills gregor. They then apologise to each (I like apologies) and either join forces to play Sven. Or try and escape now that they have no guards for the moment!
Kaelyngrey: Again, Jimin killing is not a capability he has, poor thing. And while there is a whole lot of stuff I cannot mention but that will come out, due to Sven and his ways, this type of situation won’t work either because Sven would let Misha destroy Gregor and then kill him.
Chapter 4: JinForLife
Chapter Text
JinForLife: A spin off story where Tae explains his thoughts during the time he betrayed everyone else and how Joon, Yoongi, JK and JM feel super guilty when they realize how wrong they we're and how quick they we're to judge Tae. Yoongi then crying and crying, apologizing to Tae for raping him and Tae forgives him but doesn't accept him back. And how Jin and Hobi become Tae's only support and how the rest try and fail to win their trust. Jin is also grieving Mathan's death so it makes him more protective over Tae. Hobi and Joon's relationship is in ruins bcz of this. You can end it however you like. This is the situation.
Kaelyngrey: This is actually a really great request! Fortunately (or unfortunately for now) a lot of this will be covered in part 2, especially in the chapters that deal with healing, rehabilitation, and therapy.
Yoongi isn’t one who will really show his feelings, so I’m not sure how the crying part will work out, but he will most definitely be devastated and it will definitely be a lot for him to deal with. He will be haunted for sure.
As for the others gaining Tae’s trust, there is no trust to gain. His major character flaw is that he never once blamed any of the other members. His choices were his own and no one forced him to make them. He understands that everyone was in hell, battling demons they never knew they had, and as such he reasons that because they were not themselves he cannot hold anything they did against them.
Mathan…kekekeke.
Hobi and Joon…I’ll have to stop dropping hints or there will be no part 2 at all, lol.
At this point I guess I will just have to work harder so that you can see all of these things come to life sooner!
Chapter 5: Loveyouauthornim/Proof of a 'Happily Ever After'/Army_4ever
Chapter Text
Loveyouauthornim: Hello! I would love to see more of Mathan and Seokjinnie's relationship, because I miss them being cute and in love ㅠㅠ also protective Mathan is!!!!!!!! So good!!!!!!!! Thank you for all your investment, I love this story and I'm always looking forward to it <3
Army_4ever: Oh yes I so badly want to see how mathan and seokjin would act if they got to stay together after all this ends, like how they treat each other and how their relationship develops and all the sweet stuff
I hope that this in part fulfills at least some of your request. I mainly wrote this as proof to ALL of our readers that a 'happily ever after' will be coming, so please, just hold on a little more.Dear Reader,
Euphoria
Almost two years.
Jin sat at the window watching the snow start to fall across the city. Bangtans apartment was quiet as all the members had long ago gone to bed. But Jin couldn’t sleep, not yet. Mathan had not come home and Jin hated not sleeping in his arms.
He couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face remembering when Mathan had left the apartment.
“Behave yourself and keep the children in line while I’m gone,” Mathan had said, giving Jin a quick kiss on the nose. “It won’t take more than a couple of hours for the last security check on the stadium and then everything will be set for the sound check and concert tomorrow.”
With that Mathan was out the door, the remaining members of BTS heckling him for calling them ‘children’.
It was true though. Not a one of them had not been acting like children.
Kookie and Jimin were fighting over how to decorate the tall Christmas tree standing in the corner of their open living area.
Taehyung was sprawled on Yoongi’s back as he tried to distract his lover from the racing game they were playing.
Even Namjoon and Hobi had been play wrestling on the couch, each one attempting to see who had the most ticklish spots.
So far they all had come.
It still surprised Jin sometimes that he was even here at all. There had been so many times during that nightmare when he had been sure that death was going to take him and the others once and for all. Even after they had all been rescued, Jin had not been sure that they would ever be whole enough to live. After all, how whole could one be after having walked through hellfire and ash, coming out on the other side bloody and broken and barely alive.
The journey back from that hell had been a nightmare in and of itself. All of Bangtan Sonyeondan had returned to their lives here in South Korea very different people. They all now carried scars, both on their souls as well as their bodies, and those scars had forever changed them. The healing process had almost finished the job that their captors had tried to do. But they had learned to be stronger all together and now nothing and no one would ever break them like that again.
The public and ARMYS around the world had been shocked, and at first dismayed, by the obvious changes they had shown. Understanding what it meant to treasure each moment, and to make sure the people in their lives understood just how much they meant, none of these seven young men dared to hide who they were in love with, or the relationships that they kept.
Jin had nearly died of laughter when Kookie had grabbed Jimin by the neck and pulled him in for a kiss so passionate one would swear the lens’ on the reporter’s cameras were melting. Not to be outdone Yoongi had broken in a rap expressing his love of Taehyung’s body and all the things that he liked to do to it. Their leader, always quiet in his strength had only wrapped an arm around Hobi’s neck and kissed his head. The press had looked to Jin as the only sane one among them then, but he had taken great pleasure in shocking them with the announcement that he was in love with BTS’ new head of security and former kidnapper, Mathan Foley, who also happened to be a man.
They had all laughed themselves sick the next day when the headlines read, ‘KIDNAPPING TURNS BTS GAY’.
Jin almost felt bad for their PD-nim and the company after that firestorm had erupted, but they had all made a promise to themselves and each other. No more would they follow the dictates of another. They would live their lives, be resolute in their choices, never regretful, in good times and in bad.
Time passed however, and their true ARMYS had supported them, even going so far as to protest the news and media outlets that had been the most vicious to them. Each day more and more gifts arrived from fans all over the world, from simple cards and letters to mass donations to the various charities and foundations that BTS had started. All of them had been grateful for the love and support from their ARMY and even strangers who had never heard of them until this terrible thing had happened to them.
Remembering all that as well as thinking of this blessed Christmas with his family, Jin felt tears of happiness and joy slipping down his cheeks. So lost in his memories he was, Jin never heard Mathan enter the apartment and grab a blanket off the couch; at least not until he was swept up in strong arms and held there, Mathans scent warming him and soothing his soul.
Mathan laughed at the little squeak Jin made in surprise and proceeded to kiss the young Korean man breathless.
“Miss me, chagiyah?” he asked, his smile bright.
It was a smile the public had never seen; one he reserved only for those he loved and trusted the most.
“Always, Mathan-ah…..always.”
Jin snuggled into Mathan’s arms and closed his eyes; knowing that he was safe from his nightmares now.
Feeling his lover relax into sleep, Mathan took one of Jin’s slender hands into his rough one and placed it on his chest; right above his scar and whispered, “Saranghae, Seokjin-ah…..sarangheyo…”
Chapter 6: Hollowsans
Chapter Text
HollowSans: For the little spin off for the chapter where Tae died I'd just like Jungkooks reaction to it.
Kaelyngrey: Already have this planned for that spin-off my friend. That spin-off is actually going to be a multi-chapter spin-off that will take a whole new path and will end as a stand alone-story from that point on. I definitely suggest checking it out, lol.

Chapter Text
Chibikurama: Ohhh what about a back story about Sven or Dorian? Like how did they got so vile and obtained so much power at their disposal? Sven in particular, what is this bizz (business) with his brother and why does he loathe him so?
Kaelyngrey: Again, here is the back story for Sven and I hope it answers all the questions that you had. If not, please let me know.
As for Dorian, he was always a shady ass fucker, but his wife (Mathan’s mother) toned him down an awful lot and made him almost human. Almost. Until she died and he had no one to hold him accountable for his actions other than himself.
The Foley’s and the Ivchenkos were always business partners of sorts, brought together by the fact that Sven and Mathan went to the same military school and became friends. Dorian is just the lower level idiot while Alexander (Sven’s father) and Sven tricked him in to doing all the work while the reaped the rewards.
Carl is evil by association since he is Dorian’s brother, and we see a lot more of his story later on when the story of Aaron (the guard Kaelyn killed) comes out. I hope that you stay with me until then!
Right Here
I know I've been mistaken, But just give me a break and see the changes that I've made. I've got some imperfections, But how can you collect them all and throw them in my face…
“Kaelyn!” Sven shouted as the woman before him stormed down the hall of the lavish home they shared.
“What?” she growled as she spun around, her perfectly quaffed hair never moving as her skirt flared out around her, her eyes burning with anger and betrayal.
“I’m sorry,” Sven said, his jaw grinding as he forced himself to say the unfamiliar words.
“For what?” Kaelyn asked, humor in her tone. “Sorry that you cheated on me or sorry you got caught?”
“It wasn’t cheating!” Sven insisted.
“You were in the throes of passion, dear husband. That’s textbook cheating and grounds for divorce per our arrangements.”
“You can’t leave me!” Sven insisted, the panic rising in his chest.
“I have a car on the way and Gregor has packed my things. Expect to hear from my attorney.”
“Kaelyn,” Sven purred, trying to smooth the situation over.
“No,” she said as she felt her resolve starting to break. “Not this time. This time was once too many.”
“I love you,” Sven said, reaching out and placing a gentle hand on his young wifes arm.
“I can’t do this Sven. Not any more…”
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting. You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting. And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting. Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting…
“Please let me go,” Kaelyn cried, her head spinning and her ears ringing, blood pouring from the spot on her temple where her captor had checked her with the butt of his gun in an attempt to incapacitate her.
“My child,” Alexander purred. “Where ever will you go?”
“Away from here,” Kaelyn spat, her vision clearing as hate filled her once more.
“You belong to Sven,” the man before her growled. “Which means that you also belong to me.”
“I’m not your property,” Kaelyn hissed as she tested the restraints that held her.
“As my sons wife, and my daughter in law, what else would you be?” Alexander Ivchenko asked with a laugh.
“I am a person!” Kaelyn roared.
“Bought and paid for, Mrs. Ivchenko. Or did you forget just how much you mean to daddy dearest?”
“Screw him,” Kaelyn laughed, desperation setting in.
Never in a million years had she thought her husband would go this far.
“Where is that no good brother of yours?” Alexander purred.
“How should I know?” Kaelyn asked, inserting as much disgust as she could into the fallacy of a statement she had made.
“Cassandra didn’t seem to know where her husband was either,” Alexander said, sounding somewhat disappointed.
“Where is she?” Kaelyn asked, her blood suddenly running cold.
“Alive,” the monster before her stated, disinterest in his tone.
“Let her go,” Kaelyn breathed, her will to fight quickly slipping away.
“Where is he?” he asked again.
“Let Cassie and her daughter go and…I will tell you everything,” Kaelyn said, her eyes meeting the ones before her.
“How do I know you will not run away again?” Alexander teased, his finger tracing the line of Kaelyns jaw.
“Please…” Kaelyn begged, her eyes closing in revulsion. “I promise I won’t leave. I’ll…I’ll do everything you say…”
“Where is he, Kaelyn?” the head of the Ivchenko family asked. “Where is the traitor that is your brother?”
I hope you're not intending, To be so condescending it's as much as i can take. And you're so independent, You just refuse to bend so I keep bending till I break…
“I’m pregnant,” Kaelyn said, no joy in her tone as she placed the test on the desk before her. “Twelve weeks.”
“Does your husband know?” her father in law asked, not looking up from the paperwork before him.
“It…the baby…the baby isn’t his,” she said, her very soul breaking as she realized she had lost.
“Oh dear!” Alexander said as he finally looked up, a greasy smile on his face. “Do you realize what this means?”
“Please…” she said, desperately pleading with the monster before her once again.
“Did you learn to be a good little girl like your daddy told you to be?” Ivchenko asked, looking finally at the evidence before his eyes.
“Yes,” Kaelyn breathed as she bent just a little more.
“Yes, what, my kitten?”
“Yes daddy…”
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting. You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting. And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting. Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting…
“Please Mattie,” Kaelyn begged, screaming into the phone as pain ripped through her body. “Please come save me!”
“KaeKae… I can’t.”
“Mathan please!” she tried again, her heart ripping in two at the realization that the monsters of her nightmares were finally going to win.
“I can’t get tied up in your marital problems,” Mathan spat. “Give your husband time, let him spend a couple nights on the couch, and everything will turn out fine.”
“Mathan…” Kaelyn breathed. “I’m dying.”
“Quit being so overly dramatic. Your spoiled princess ass will be just fine.”
I've made a commitment. I'm willing to bleed for you. I needed fulfillment. I found what I need in you…
“It’s a boy,” the midwife announced as she wrapped the baby in a blanket, handing him off to her assistant to clean off and care for.
“A boy…” Kaelyn breathed, fire still pulsing through her body from the intense labor she had just experienced.
“5 pounds, 6 ounces, 17 inches long,” the midwifes nurse called out, washing the tiny thing before her off before wrapping him in a fresh warm blanket and placing him into the loving arms of his mother.
“He looks just like his father,” Kaelyn said as she held her newborn son just a little tighter.
She prayed that her husband would never know the truth.
“He called. They caught the first flight home. They should be home in just a few hours,” the lady at the door said softly.
“Thank you, Misha,” Kaelyn said, her smile kind, and her exhaustion showing.
“What shall I tell Master Sven?” Misha asked, sounding unsure.
“Tell him…tell them both…I have named my son Antares. After the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius. Antares Draconius Ivchenko.”
“Yes, My Lady,” the guard said with a gentle bow.
When everyone in the room had cleared, Kaelyn let her tears fall.
“I love you, sweet child,” she said softly, kissing her son on his wrinkled little head. “But I cannot keep you. Not here. Not to be raised like this.”
With a single phone call from a number she knew would never be traced Kaelyn made the hardest call she knew she would ever have to make.
“Take him away,” she whispered softly into the phone. “Take him somewhere he will be happy and loved. Somewhere far away from the evil of this land. Find my sweet boy a family that will love him loads. That will teach him…to have courage and…be kind. That will tuck him in when he sleeps, and hold him tight when monsters haunt his dreams. Send him somewhere the Ivchenkos will never think to look and…leave no clue of the nightmare you took him from. He has no name. No family that will come to claim him when you find him one to love. Tell whoever it is that they may keep him always. They’ll never have to fear me showing up to bring him home. It is the only chance I can give him to be happy, and healthy, and whole.”
Why can't you just forgive me? I don't want to relive all the mistakes I've made along the way. But I always find a way to keep you right here waiting. I always find the words to say to keep you right here waiting.
“Mathan Foley?” she growled into the phone. “I don’t know him.”
“Kaelyn,” Mathan tried, his jaw grinding in frustration. “It’s your brother!”
“I have no brother,” Kaelyn said with a humorless laugh. “All my family died a long, long, time ago.”
“I need your help,” Mathan tried again, desperation in his tone.
“You need me?’ she asked in disbelief. “I’ll pray for you. That vultures feast on your dead flesh and wild dogs chew on your putrid bones.”
“Kaelyn!”
“Where were you when I needed you!!!” she screamed, pain ripping through her chest and out of her mouth. “Where were you when I begged you to come and rescue us? Where were you when my innocence was stolen from me by a man our fathers age?”
“I didn’t know!” Mathan insisted, guilt washing over him once more.
“You mean you didn’t care,” Kaelyn said in return.
“I came as soon as I could!” the man on the other end insisted.
“You came when you were forced to come, and took all the credit for an escape you never helped make happen.”
“It took the heat off of you, did it not?”
“Goodbye, Mr. Foley,” Kaelyn said. “I’ll see you when I find myself in hell once more.”
But you always find a way, To keep me right here waiting. You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting. And if I chose to walk away would you be right here waiting. Searching for the things to say to keep me right here waiting…
“Goddamnit take the wheel!” Kaelyn screamed as she swerved once more to miss a tree in their path.
“I’m busy here!” Mathan roared, panic starting to set in.
“HE’S GOING TO DIE IF YOU DON’T TAKE THE WHEEL!”
“I can’t take the pressure off the wound!”
“I need something sharp,” Kaelyn said, slamming the van in park and jumping over bodies. “And something…a straw or something like it.”
“What are you going to do?” a timid voice asked from somewhere behind.
“I’m going to save his life…”
Photograph
"Loving can hurt. Loving can hurt sometimes. But it's the only thing that I know."
I remember the summer after your Junior year of high school quite well. That was the summer I came home from studying abroad to find my father in a blind rage over a photo that had ended up in the Society Pages of you and I. Kissing. Through all of the pain all I could think of was you. That one kiss had been worth it.
"Love hurts, my son," he had sneered. "No girl is worth that kind of pain."
"When it gets hard, You know it can get hard sometimes, But it's the only thing that makes us feel alive."
My friends would never understand. They didn't see you as I did. You were loving, and kind; the hateful, ice cold facade you wore was all for show. You could never be the uncaring man your father had raised you to be. At least not when you were with me.
When you were with me, you were happy...alive. You smiled and shared all of your silly plans to abandon your family, live in a quaint little neighborhood far from big city life, have cookouts with the neighbors, and give away your money like it would never run out.
I treasured that photo from those society pages, but in seeing it I wondered just how much you had suffered for it.
"We keep this love in a photograph. We made these memories for ourselves. Where our eyes are never closing, Hearts are never broken, And time's forever frozen still. So you can keep me, Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans. Holding me close until our eyes meet, You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home."
"Sven," I breathed when I opened the door.
You were a mess, and I knew my father would be coming from his study at any moment to see who had come knocking at the door.
"'Dorogoy," you breathed, "can I-"
"Cielo, what-" I began, but I didn't need an answer.
Seeing you standing there covered in blood and gasping for breath…the corner of that paper clipping sticking out of your pocket… I knew. Your father would never approve of you and I.
"Kaelyn,” my father drawled as he rounded the corner into our foyer. “Who is this, and what has happened?"
I immediately stood aside and helped you in the house. No matter what I said or how I lied…Dorian Foley wasn’t stupid. He would find out one way or another exactly who you were.
"Father…this is Sven. Mathan and he attended boarding school together…” I said, my eyes on the floor as I stiffened for whatever blow the man before us intended to have dealt.
“Sven?” my father inquired, one eyebrow raised in interest.
“Ivchenko,” I said softly, knowing our fathers hated each other for reasons we had never known.
“Did your father do this to you?” my father asked you, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
"No,” you said, smiling as sardonically as you could considering your rapidly swelling jaw. “Alexander Ivchenko has men to do his dirty work for him. He could never sully his hands to do so himself."
"Take him to my study,” my father instructed, his tone far too pleased to mean anything good. “I’ll give Dr. Jenkins a call. Have this poor young man checked out. Heaven forbid he die from something treatable. Internal bleeding or something of the like…”
"Father…” I tried to object.
“I should go,” you said, your expression sad. “My father will come looking for me. If I do not return to beg his indulgence…”
“You can’t!” I insisted. “I’ll… We’ll think of something. I can’t let that monster do this to you. It isn’t right…”
"My father is invincible, Cielo,” you said with a laugh and a wince. “No one can touch him. Everyone can be bought, and our bank accounts are lined in gold.”
"I won't let him hurt you!” I insisted, barely controlling my voice from turning into a scream. “This is wrong! It was a stupid picture. It could have meant anything!"
"No. It couldn't,” you said as you smiled at me, your uninjured hand coming up to rest along my cheek. “I don't just kiss random girls, and I don't let the papers have anything I don't want them to. I wanted them to see me kiss you. I wanted them to know that it was real. Eres mi cielo, Kaelyn. Now and forever. And I will be yours for as long as you will have me.”
"Loving can heal. Loving can mend your soul. And it's the only thing that I know, know."
With you I was free. Until the night that you came to my house. After that I had to hate you…to pretend that I abhorred the very ground you walked on just to keep you safe. That was the absolute worst.
I wanted to be a normal couple like Mathan and Cassandra, or Zephyr and Ben. I wanted to hold hands and kiss and go on weekend trips together to wherever our TomTom took us. Instead I was stuck stealing glances at you in the society pages and leaving odd messages with my brother to pass to you when he saw you on your outings.
"I don't want to do this anymore Sven!” I raged as I paced back and forth in the hotel room you had gotten. “I'm not ashamed! Or afraid! I can protect you from my father. And I'll stand up for myself against yours. I don't care what anybody thinks! I love you, and there is nothing…no one…that will ever change how I feel for you. You took on your father for me, Cielo. The least I can do is stand up to mine."
"I swear it will get easier. Remember that with every piece of you. Oh, And it's the only thing we take with us when we die."
"Kotenok, a war is coming. This... You and I... It isn't safe! Don't ever think that I'm ashamed of you! I'm just… trying to protect you. I love you, Kaelyn Grey. I would die without you."
"I can't do this anymore Sven! I need you beside me. Not running here and there trying to keep me hidden away somewhere!"
"What do you want me to do Kaelyn?” You asked in frustration. “Walk up to your father and ask him to put aside his feud with mine? Ask your brother to forget the fight we had and bless any union we might have? I'm not safe, love. My family isn't safe. The head of our clan has passed, and the elders are at odds with his last wishes for my father to become their new leader. I can't protect you right now. So please… stay where you are. Please hold on for just a while longer. I promise that everything will be settled soon. When my father is far away, wholly consumed with the council and their business…then we can be together like we want to be. This feud…the secrecy…all of it is just a phase, and we'll get through it, together, ok?"
"OK."
"We keep this love in this photograph. We made these memories for ourselves. Where our eyes are never closing. Hearts are never broken. Time's forever frozen still. So you can keep me, Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans. Holding me close until our eyes meet, You won't ever be alone."
Time didn't get easier. It got harder. And all we had was that one photo from the summer I turned fifteen. You kept it folded up in the pocket of your silly torn up jeans, and I kept it in the locket you bought me to celebrate my early acceptance to the University of my dreams.
I didn't see you again after that. That following year I saw Sven Ivchenko, heir to the Most Ancient and Noble House Ivchenko. Son of Alexander Ivchenko, head of the most powerful and dangerous crime family the world had ever seen. Business shark. Mafia hitmen’s newest recruit. Russian royalty.
Nowhere in your being was Sven Ivchenko, the man I loved. You were cold, unreachable. There was no love in you and so we slowly drifted apart until I was back to hating you. You made me hate you Sven. You made me turn away. No one was there to pick up the pieces, so what did you expect?
Mathan told me about the night you made your first kill and my heart was irreparably broken. You were lost forever to me then. I could never love a murderer, no matter the reason they chose to kill. Mathan did say that you had been forced to, and I begged you tell me why, but you just sneered at me and told me you wouldn't expect a 'silly little girl' to understand. I burned the photo and the locket that night and ejected you eternally from my heart.
"And if you hurt me, That's okay baby, only words bleed. Inside these pages you just hold me. I won't ever let you go. Wait for me to come home."
I didn't want to hurt you. I will admit that I meant to, because I had to keep you safe. The clan had already threatened my parents, what more could I do? If my father had died, well, that would have been a huge relief to me, but I could never sacrifice my mother. She did not choose the role life gave her.
She was the only daughter of a nearly extinct branch of nobility desperate to make ties to a new and powerful family. As such it was her job to be a good and dutiful wife no matter what path her husband chose. My father, ever the coward, refused to protect my mother, and so I was forced to protect her instead.
It took everything in me to keep my mother and I alive and seeing that I had pushed you to the safety of your brother, I pushed even harder to keep you there. It killed me inside.
I needed you, Kaelyn. More than you know. I needed your smile, and your intelligence, and your warmth. I needed someone to confess my sins to, and to share my plans with…someone to help me keep a level head when it all went wrong. I needed someone to go to when I had nowhere else to turn.
My heart bled when you spat your hatred at me.
I let you punch me just so I could feel.
The rejection I got from you was a pain worse than my father could ever have created. It was the pain of my heart being ripped from my body while I was still very much alive.
But I couldn't show you my hurt. You would have fought for me I know, and you would no longer have been safe. You may have burned all of your memories of me, but I still kept my memories of you, and every night before I went to bed, I would pull out the photo of us back in that summer and imagine that once again, sometime soon, our lives would be that way again.
"Wait for me to come home."
The war of the Ivchenko clans ended less than a year after it started, but my mother did not survive. My father was alive and well, but his overwhelming lust for power had driven him insane. In my arms was still a dangerous place for you to be.
I guess the coverage of our dispute displayed for all the world to see did not put your mind at ease. Even after I was recused of any wrong doing you did not acquiesce to my requests for you to speak to me.
How could you just abandon me so easily? Especially in a time when I was of greatest need. I almost forgot the promise we made. I almost allowed my misplaced hatred of you to consume me.
I didn’t hate you of course. I forgave you too easily for running from a monster like me.
“It will all be over soon and then we can be together like we want to be."
I waited for you to return to me, but I guess that promise meant nothing to you. The demon in a bottle almost took my life the night I realized you would not be returning to me. I almost gave myself over to my father’s cruel whims.
"Wait for me to come home."
I came to find you after my fathers’ trial and found you in the arms of another man. My brother no less. How was I to compare to that? Distinguished entrepreneur. Advocate of charity. Decorated member of the Russian Armed Forces.
It was only natural that you chose him over me, a disgraced ex-mafia member with no money and no prospects. I turned around and left you then. I drank myself into a rage and destroyed everything within reach for a week. I told you we would be together when it was all over, but I realize that after everything I had done to you, it had been beyond foolish of me to expect that you would wait. With the realization that I had lost you to a far better man, I burned the photo and tried to move on with my life.
"You can fit me, Inside the necklace you got when you were sixteen, Next to your heartbeat where I should be. Keep it deep within your soul. And if you hurt me, Well, that's okay baby, only words bleed. Inside these pages you just hold me, And I won't ever let you go. When I'm away, I will remember how you kissed me, Under the lamppost back on Sixth street, Hearing you whisper through the phone, "Wait for me to come home."
"Kaelyn?" I breathed as I saw you on that busy street in London. I couldn't believe that it was you.
"S-Sven?" you asked, full of shock yourself. "What are you doing here?"
You were so beautiful. Your hair had streaks of gold through it and had been straightened into a high pony tail. The sundress you wore left very little to the imagination and in the 2 short years we had been away from one another you had filled out in places I could never have imagined.
"I live here, now. Moved here a few years ago actually, to be closer to my job."
"You? Sven Ivchenko? In a place like this?"
"Complete with a beat-up old car and a house in the suburbs,” I said with a smile.
You laughed, and my heart broke in two.
"What do you do now, Mr. Ivchenko?"
"I'm a partner in a small law firm on Sixth Street. Specialize in assisting victims of organized crime. “What about yourself?"
You smiled at that.
"I'm a make-up artist. I work in the burn ward of Saint Georges helping victims get their confidence back with make overs and make-up tips and such.”
"Sounds like you... What brings you here?"
"House hunting, I suppose. My brothers flat is a bit creepy. I think the neighbor’s upstairs are not the best of people. Figured it was time to venture out on my own."
"What? My brother not joining you?" I asked, a bit sharply.
"Why would he?" Confusion was etched upon your face. "He's got his boyfriend and they have a dog. They got a place in the Square. I haven’t stopped by in months.”
"So, you two aren't...I mean you're not-"
"What? Together? O- You thought? Gods no! Auggie is like a brother to me! Where ever did you get that idea?"
"I saw you together, after the trials. I just thought-"
"Is that why you left? Why you didn't come back?"
"Yeah-"
"Cielo-"
"Come home, Kaelyn. I miss you."
Perfect
I found a love for me. Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead. Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet. Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me.
“Kaelyn…what are you doing?” Sven asked, tilting his head to one side as he stared down at the girl in his arms.
“Mapping the stars,” she said with a smile as she traced patterns on her lover’s bare chest.
“Is my body the sky?” he queried, sounding amused.
“Mmm,” she said, continuing to draw her patterns. “You are my Cielo…and your body is my galaxy. I shall explore it until the end of time.”
“Are you promising me forever?” Sven asked, his breath hitching oddly at the thought that someone would willingly spend such an amount of time with him.
“Forever and a day,” she said in return.
“Forever…is an awfully long time, don’t you think?” he asked, sounding unsure.
“No,” Kaelyn said, looking Sven in the eye. “It is only forever if I cannot be with you.”
'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love, Not knowing what it was. I will not give you up this time. Darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own. And in your eyes, you're holding mine.
“Eighteen’s awful young there friend,” Mathan said, tipping back his beer and taking a swig as he considered his friends question.
“She’ll be nineteen by the time we are wed,” Sven said, downing his shot of whiskey.
“Nineteen’s still young.”
“Isn’t Cassie nineteen?” Sven countered.
“That’s different,” Mathan said, shutting down in the face of being caught.
“Mmmm,” Sven said with a smile.
“Kaelyn?” Mathan asked, looking at the man next to him in disbelief. “There’s like…really?”
“Really,” Sven said. “She’s perfect.”
“Aren’t you a little old? For her I mean?”
“You’re older than I, dear Mathan.”
“Hmpf.”
“Will you give us your blessing?”
“You hurt her one more time and I will kill you. I don’t care if she’s being stubborn and you say ‘no’. You make her so much as cry and I’ll hunt you down and tear you limb from limb.”
“I’ll never do that again. I think our time apart hurt me worse.”
“You got a ring?” Mathan asked, one eyebrow raised as he considered his closest friend.
“I’ve got Kaelyns dream ring,” Sven said with a bright smile as he pulled out a box and opened it for Mathan to see.
“It’s pink,” Mathan said in disgust.
“The teardrop was my mothers,” Sven said, a hint of sadness in his tone.
“It’s perfect,” Mathan said softly.
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms, Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song. When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath, But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight.
“What are we doing out here?” Kaelyn whispered, looking around in awe at how clear the sky was from the garden of Svens country home.
“We’re mapping the stars, Ms. Grey,” Sven said, a coy smile on his face.
“Isn’t a little cold?” Kaelyn asked, turning her face to look at the man before her.
“Is it?” Sven smiled, pulling Kaelyn close, wrapping his coat around them both and holding her tightly in his arms.
“No,” Kaelyn breathed, captivated by the beauty of the light reflected in her paramours’ eyes.
“What?’ Sven asked, momentarily caught off guard by the intensity of Kaelyns gaze.
Kaelyn just shook her head as she gave Sven a smile.
“I want to remember this,” she said softly. “Every moment of right now. I want to commit it to my memory so that when I have grown old, I’ll still remember what it feels like to be loved with everything someone had.”
“I’ll love you always,” Sven said, his heart giving a now familiar tug as he gathered his nerves to do the thing he knew needed to be done.
“What’s wrong?” Kaelyn asked, her brow pulling down in concern.
“Nothing,” Sven said, flashing the angel in his arms a brilliant smile. “It’s perfect. Everything is perfect now.”
Kaelyn smiled then gasped in awe as she saw the northern lights flashing across the sky.
Sven used that moment of distraction to let her go and fall to one knee, the ring held out before him as he waited for Kaelyn to get over her momentary awe.
“Cariño, what…” Kaelyn asked, confusion and disbelief coloring her tone as she turned to face Sven.
“Marry me,” Sven said, sure for the first time in his life that he was doing the right thing. “Be my forever and a day, and in return…I will be your always and forever. I promise you now…I will never love another.”
“Cielo…” Kaelyn breathed, tears forming in her eyes as her hands came up to cover her face.
“Please…” Sven exhaled, worried now that the girl before him really would say ‘no’ just as his father had said.
“Okay,” Kaelyn said softly, her smile bright enough to rival the stars.
Sven took a moment as he processed her words before gently sliding the ring on his future wife’s finger, standing slowly and pulling her to him as he claimed her lips in a soft and loving kiss.
Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know. She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home. I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets, To carry love, to carry children of our own.
“I can’t believe you really did it friend,” Mathan said as he came to stand beside his future brother in law at the engagement party that was being thrown for his sister and his friend.
“I can’t believe she really said yes,” Sven said with a smile, his eyes following his beautiful jewel as she moved around the room, laughing and sharing hugs as all of their family and friends wished them a warm and happy life together.
“Have you set a date?” Mathan asked as his gaze settled on his sister.
“May 17th,” Sven said. “Venice. Custom made dress. Kaelyn already has it planned.”
“Cost?’
“Once in a lifetime,” Sven said. “My father agreed to pay for the wedding. Apparently, Kaelyn said something to him that changed his mind on the union of his most disappointing son to some hick from America.”
“She’s a firecracker, that’s for sure.”
“I promise I will keep her safe,” Sven said, turning to the man beside him. “My father will never lay hands on her. I will kill him where he stands if he even tries. And she will be cared for. Kaelyn will want for naught. All she need do is ask.”
“What about loved?” Mathan asked, his eyes burning into Sven as he waited for the most important question to be answered.
“I love her with everything I am. I would lay down my life for her, even if it only gave her moments longer. And when the time comes for her to leave this world, I will leave it with her.”
We are still kids, but we're so in love, Fighting against all odds. I know we'll be alright this time. Darling, just hold my hand. Be my girl, I'll be your man. I see my future in your eyes.

“You sure you want to do this little sister?” Mathan asked, leaning against the door of Kaelyn’s dressing room where the stylists were putting the finishing touches on her look.
“Positive,” Kaelyn said, her eyes catching her brothers in the mirror she now sat in front of.
“Money isn’t everything,” Mathan said, testing his sister one final time.
“But love can give you wings, dear Mathan. You know this.”
Kaelyn stood once the stylists had finished and carefully approached her brother.
“I love him, Mathan. More than anything. And he is good to me. Good for me. And…no matter what… he loves me in return. Is that not more than I deserve?”
“You deserve the world, Kaelyn Grey,” Mathan said softly, his arms crossing over his chest as he took in the young woman before him.
“And he will give it to me, Mathan Foley. He isn’t like his father. Or ours. He cares for me. About me. He makes me feel things that…I’ll never feel with anyone else. He is the only one for me, and I for him. So please be happy. Walk me down the aisle, kiss me on the cheek, give your best friend a hug, and bless this union that he and I have decided to enter.”
“When did you get so old?’ Mathan asked, trying to joke as his heart gave a painful jolt.
“When did you get so debonair?”
“When my best girl asked me to walk her down the aisle,” Mathan said, reaching out and offering his arm as the doors opened and the attendant told them it was time.
~oooOooo~
Kaelyn was a vision in white as she came down the aisle, Mathan proudly at her side and everyone in attendance in awe of how grown this young woman now looked. She would be a Mrs. soon and somewhere in the dead of night she had gone from a silly little girl to a refined young lady ready to tend to all of her husband’s needs. Even the head of the Ivchenko clan was hard pressed to find any flaw within the woman his son had chosen to spend his life with. The young Ms. Grey had obviously been raised with different ideals than her father, and while she had a good head about her, Alexander Ivchenko saw just how easy it would be to break her to his will. He had even taken steps to ensure her father would not interfere in her life again to the tune of a 3-million-dollar payout to make himself Kaelyn’s legal guardian ahead of her union to his seemingly redeemable son.
Sven on the other hand was having a hard time remembering how to breathe and it was only his younger brothers’ hand on his shoulder that brought him back down from cloud nine where he had been so eagerly awaiting his happily ever after.
“Be good to her, you hear,” Mathan said, pulling Sven into a hug before placing his sisters’ hand in Svens, a bright smile on his face as he looked at the happy couple.
“I have to be,” Sven said back. “We’ll be brothers now after all.”
“Thank you, Mattie,” Kaelyn said, reaching up to kiss her brother on his cheek.
“You be good to him too Kaelyn,” Mathan said softly, kissing his sister on the cheek before taking his place next to Augustine.
~oooOooo~
The formalities of the traditional ceremony passed by in a blur; Kaelyn and Sven preforming required rites of passage, making promises to their families and to God to love, honor, and cherish one another, before finally getting to the vows they had written on their own.
“You are my every dream brought to life,” Kaelyn said, hands joined with Sven as she looked him in the eye. “With our hands pressed together I know that we will always find our way home. You are a gift to this world, a teacher of light, and a student of love. You radiate warmth in vibrant reds and deep orange hues, and I often find myself wondering what it would be like to see the world through your eyes, even after all the years we have spent together. Here is to a lifetime together, holding hands, strolling through the woods, still learning, still listening. For forever and a day, your partner I will be.”
“I never knew,” Sven began, his breath stolen once more, “that a love like this could ever exist. That there were such things as happily ever after’s, and dreams of growing old with the someone you love, or that at such a young age, I would find the one my heart calls home. But here we are, and looking back on it now, I wouldn’t trade one moment of the time I have had with you, for any amount of money in the world. You have taught me of laughter, and of light, and of love. To be proud of who I am, and to stand up for what I believe in. You have helped me to become the man I am today, and without you, I do not know where I would be. So, take my hand. Take my hand and follow me on this journey of our lives together, and I will dance with you every step of the way as we welcome children, and grandchildren, and leave our marks on this crazy world that only you and I can know. I will hold you close, and keep you warm, and when our time comes, I will join you among the stars. Pedazo de cielo que Dios me dió, te miro y te miro y al fin bendigo, bendigo la suerte de ser tu amor. Te amo.”
With vows said and rings exchanged, no objections to be made, the priest pronounced Kaelyn and Sven as husband and wife and when Mr. Ivchenko kissed his Mrs. for the first time it was not the slow, passionate, mouth on mouth kiss the audience had expected. Instead Sven pulled Kaelyn to him, his arms around her waist as her hands tangled in his suit, and with all of the care he had to offer, he sealed their union with a kiss to her forehead, telling her without words that he would respect her and protect her, love her as deeply as he could, until the very end of time.
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, With you between my arms. Barefoot on the grass, Listening to our favorite song. When I saw you in that dress, Looking so beautiful, I don't deserve this. Darling, you look perfect tonight.
“Regrets, Mrs. Ivchenko?” Sven asked as he looked at his bride, twirling her around the ballroom floor for all the guests to see.
“No,” she said with a smile. “You? My husband?”
“Never,” he said, his smile for once matching hers.
“A penny for your thoughts?” she asked, her hand coming up to rest on his cheek.
“I can’t believe you’re finally mine,” he breathed, once more taking in her perfection.
“I’ve always been yours,” she said, smiling at him shyly. “I was just waiting for you to ask me if you could keep me.”
"Can I?” he asked, his smile coy. “Keep you?”
“Forever and a day,” she said, standing on tip-toes to kiss her husband on the lips. “I love you.”
“And I you. For all the rest of my days. I’ll love you more than you will ever know.”
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms, Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song. I have faith in what I see, Now I know I have met an angel in person, And she looks perfect. I don't deserve this, You look perfect tonight.
Wedded Torture
I know I can't take one more step towards you, Cause all that's waiting is regret. Don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore, You lost the love I loved the most.
Mr. and Mrs. Sven Ivchenkos wedded bliss lasted exactly two months, twelve days, nine hours, thirty-nine minutes, and sixteen seconds. Not that anyone had counted. Now Kaelyn lived in fear of what her husband would tolerate next.
“I can’t do this anymore,” Kaelyn said, looking at Sven through the reflection in her vanity mirror as she tried to hide the bruise that covered the entire left side of her face. “I refuse to live with that monster you call a father.”
“Kaelyn,” Sven breathed, torn between obeying his father and protecting his wife.
“I won’t let him beat on me,” Kaelyn said. “I’m not his wife. I’m yours. And you promised to protect me.”
“What do you want me to do, kotenok?’ Sven asked in exasperation.
“Protect me!” Kaelyn said as she stood up and spun around. “Stand up to your father and let him know that this is not okay! He isn’t my father! He isn’t my husband. I don’t have to live here. We can go to your cottage in the country. You know he will not follow us there.”
“Dorogoy…”
“Don’t ‘darling’ me, Sven. You promised that you would keep me safe! And you haven’t. What am I supposed to say? Mathan wants me to come for a visit and I can’t because…”
“This isn’t my fault,” Sven said. “You know my father has a temper. You must watch what you say around him. This,” he said, gesturing to Kaelyns battered face, “this could have been so much worse.”
“I will not allow him to do it again,” Kaelyn said, her heart breaking in half as another piece of it slowly shriveled up and died.
“And how will you stop him?” Sven asked, the first tinge of anger rippling through him.
“I’m moving to your cottage home,” Kaelyn said. “My condition isn’t good, and I would hate for your image to be tarnished by a sickly wife.”
“Kaelyn,” Sven said, trying to object.
“I realize I cannot divorce you, Mr. Ivchenko. But that does not mean I have to live with you and subject myself to this.”
“Kae…”
“No,” Kaelyn said softly. “I won’t suffer any more regrets. Just…let me do this. Let me go.”
I learned to live, half alive, And now you want me one more time.
“Kaelyn!” Sven called as the woman before him stormed down the hall of the lavish home they shared.
“What?” she screamed as she spun around, tears streaming down her face, anger and betrayal burning her skin like acid.
“I’m sorry,” Sven said, his jaw grinding as he forced himself to say the unfamiliar words.
“For what?” Kaelyn asked, confusion and hurt coloring her tone. “Sorry that you cheated on me or sorry you got caught?”
“It wasn’t cheating!” Sven insisted.
“You were in the throes of passion, dear husband.”
“It was…a business transaction,” Sven said, his fingers coming up to pinch the bridge of his nose.
“Then what am I?’ Kaelyn asked with a humorless laugh.
“My wife,” Sven ground out, a headache slowly forming.
“Not anymore,” Kaelyn said. “Cheating works both ways in the agreement that we made.”
“What are you saying?’ Sven asked, his brain refusing to work.
“I want a divorce,” Kaelyn said as she reeled her emotions back in check.
“You can’t leave me!” Sven insisted, panic rising like bile in his throat.
“I’m going to Mathans,” Kaelyn said. “Call me when your transactions are over. I would hate to be in the way of business.”
“Kaelyn,” Sven said, trying to object.
“I’m going to see my brother for a few days, and there is nothing you can do to stop me. Mathan paid for the taxi to the airport and the plane ticket home. I packed only the clothes I brought with me in the duffle bag I already owned. I even left the jewelry you gave me.”
“Where are your rings,” Sven asked, noticing Kaelyns empty hands.
“I left them in the safe in your office,” Kaelyn said, malice in her tone. “I would hate to be accused of being an ungrateful, gold digging whore again.”
“Kaelyn…”
“I’ll be back in a few days,” she said, refusing to give in to her husband’s charms. “I would also hate for Alexander to think his son cannot control his own wife.”
“Kaelyn,” Sven tried again.
“I’m allowed to see my family, Sven,” she spat. “I’m not your pet to be kept in a gilded cage.”
“Father won’t be happy with you.”
“I’m not his dog either.”
“You know I cannot stop him.”
“I guess you have a problem then,” Kaelyn said, her tone finally sad. “When you find out who you are… you know where I will be.”
And who do you think you are? Running 'round leaving scars. Collecting your jar of hearts, And tearing love apart. You're gonna catch a cold, From the ice inside your soul. So don't come back for me, Who do you think you are?
Kaelyn did return after that, just like she said she would. And she was punished for her transgressions which was no less than what she had expected, but far more than she knew she deserved.
“Sven please,” Kaelyn whispered, tears trailing down her face as she looked her husband in the eye, begging him to save her from the monster she now faced.
“You did this to yourself, Kaelyn,” he whispered softly, standing in the corner where his father had placed him, instructing him to watch as Alexander taught his daughter in law a lesson she had yet been able to learn.
“You know this isn’t right,” she reasoned as the man before her started to undress. “This isn’t how you treat someone.”
“You shouldn’t have run away…”
“Why are you doing this to me?” Kaelyn asked, broken as her father in law approached her. “Why will you not protect me?”
“Because he knows you were a very naughty, very selfish, little girl,” Alexander purred, reaching up to caress Kaelyns jaw, his hand trailing down her throat, a sign that her nightmare had begun.
“Cielo…please…” Kaelyn begged, trying one last time to make her husband see reason. “Save me…”
With her back pressed firmly against the wall of this prison she called home, Kaelyn was powerless to shrink away, muscled arms planted firmly on either side of her body, steel bars barring her escape. She was caught in the jaws of this monster’s trap; no room at all for her to escape, nowhere to seek pardon from the warden of her nightmares. As she braced for the blow, once again sentenced to her same familiar hell, Kaelyn wondered just how much of herself she would be able to carry away. Flesh broken, and bones shattered, Kaelyn survived her nightmare with nothing more than her horribly mangled soul.
I hear you're asking all around, If I am anywhere to be found. But I have grown too strong, To ever fall back in your arms. I've learned to live, half alive, And now you want me one more time.
Eighteen months after her nightmare began Kaelyn fought her way out of the prison she was in, not caring who died with her as she chased the freedom she knew that she deserved.
Mathan had refused to come to her aide for reasons she did not know, and that had caused her damage beyond repair, but after so many days of running for her life she was finally free. Once she had been checked out at a hospital on the seedier side of London, she boarded yet another plane, destined for the one place no one would come and look. She had made a call to a friend she had in high school who had promised her a job and a place to stay until she got on her feet.
When she landed in Seoul, Kaelyn had to remind herself to breathe, her Hangugeo rusty from years of disuse. Hailing a kakaotaxi and managing to give the driver her friends address, Kaelyn found herself in the arms of a girl she hadn’t seen in years, crying over tea and begging her friend to hide her away from the monsters in her dreams.
Thankfully Somang understood such things, and so she did not judge Kaelyn when she woke at 4 a.m. begging someone to go away. She even woke with her and helped her settle down, assuring her she was safe in her new home, and promising her employment as soon as her wounds were healed.
Six months on, through the contacts that Kaelyn had kept, she discovered there was a bounty on her head. She was a wanted woman and her father in law seemed to be up in arms that his sons’ perfect jewel had disappeared in the dead of night from a supposedly heavily guarded room.
Three months after that she learned that her sister in law and niece were both dead and that Alexander Ivchenko had ordered the hit. While her heart mourned the loss of such young and beautiful souls, she thought that Mathan Foley had gotten no less than he deserved. If he had only helped her when she asked him to, his family would have been left alone.
~oooOooo~
“Mathan Foley?” she said, sounding surprised and confused. “I don’t know him.”
“Kaelyn,” Mathan tried, his jaw grinding in frustration. “It’s your brother!”
“My brother’s name is Colton,” Kaelyn said, sounding sympathetic. “I’m afraid you have the wrong number. Everyone else I knew died a long, long, time ago.”
“I need your help,” Mathan tried again, desperation in his tone.
“I’ll pray for you, Sir,” she said. “That peace and mercy find you on the day you will be judged, and that death greets you swiftly and kindly as though you were old friends.”
“Kaelyn!”
“Don’t call me here, Mathan Foley. I have nothing more to say to you. No further need for you. I’ve made peace with everything that has happened to me…because of me. Perhaps it is time for you to do the same.”
“He killed them over you,” Mathan tried. “Did you know?”
“Alexander killed your daughter and your wife because he wanted to. It had nothing to do with me,” Kaelyn spat.
“He’s still looking for you,” Mathan said.
“He won’t find me,” Kaelyn returned.
“I found you,” Mathan pointed out.
“I let myself be found by you. I assure you it was a mistake.”
“KaeKae…”
“Don’t call me that. Don’t call me at all. I have a life here. One that you are not a part of.”
“What will you do when they find out?” Mathan asked.
“They won’t,” Kaelyn said, sounding sure. “I told them my family died in an explosion. I came to where I am to seek top notch care and heal away from the painful reminders of home.”
“You lied.”
“I learned from you.”
“Kaelyn…”
“I have to go. Some of us have real jobs to do.”
“Kae…”
“Do not contact me again. Not ever. Or Colton finds out everything, and then where will you be?”
“Kaelyn…”
“Goodbye, Mr. Foley,” Kaelyn said. “I’ll see you when I find myself in hell once more.”
Dear, it took so long just to feel alright. Remember how to put back the light in my eyes. I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed, Cause you broke all your promises. And now you're back, You don't get to get me back.
“Are you okay, Noona?”
Kaelyn looked up from her supplies to the boy standing in front of her, taking in the concerned look on his face as he ducked to look her in the eyes.
“Ye,” she said softly, automatically looking back down and going back to organizing her supplies.
“Somang Noona says you haven’t been sleeping well. Are you sure everything is okay?”
“Ye,” Kaelyn said, her eyes sad as she considered the sweet boy before her. “Do not worry about me Jaebum-ssi. I’m okay.”
Kaelyn took careful steps to avoid conversation with her employers at all costs. She kept her head down and worked hard to do a good job, and at the end of the day she went to the small flat she had acquired when her best friend had moved in with her boyfriend.
~oooOooo~
“I brought you a coffee, Noona,” JB said, a bright smile on his face as he handed the girl before him the drink he had gotten her on the way to his schedule.
“Gomabseubnida, Jaebum-ssi,” Kaelyn said, slowly reaching out and taking the warm drink being offered to her.
“Why won’t you call me JB?” he asked as he sat down next to her.
“Because…” she said, chewing the side of her cheek as she considered his question. “That isn’t your name?”
“If you’re older than me, shouldn’t you call me cutely?’ JB asked, looking the stylist in the eye.
“’M not,” she said softly, looking at the cup in her hands. “I’m only 22. So, I should speak to you formally. And…I work for you so…”
“You…you’re 22?” JB asked, surprised by the fact that this girl was younger than him.
“Ye,” Kaelyn said.
“Doesn’t your family miss you?”
Kaelyn just shook her head as her eyebrows drew down. Her family was not a topic she wanted to discuss with the people she worked for.
“Oh,” JB said, looking at his hands as well.
“They died,” Kaelyn said, seemingly trying to fill the silence in the room. “Our house exploded.” It was such an easy lie to tell. So easy to believe. “Somang Unnie…”
“She’s great,” JB said.
“The best…”
~oooOooo~
“Kaelyn-ah,” JB called, walking into the dressing room and looking around for his favorite stylist.
“Ye?” Kaelyn called, emerging from the closet with an arm full of clothing and looking exhausted.
“What are you doing?’ JB asked, brought up short by the scene.
“Decluttering,” Kaelyn said as she threw the load in her arms into a pile on the floor. “PD-nim told us to go through your closets and throw out things you wouldn’t wear anymore.”
“That’s…” JB said, looking at the massive pile.
“Not even half of it,” Kaelyn said with a shrug. “Did you need something Jaebum-ssi?”
“For you to not call me Jaebum-ssi,” he said, giving her a mock glare.
“Then how should I call you?” Kaelyn asked, slightly confused.
“Oppa,” JB said. “Or JB Oppa. I’m really fine with either.”
“But you aren’t my oppa,” Kaelyn said. “I work for your company. Nothing more.”
“I could be your oppa,” JB said, toeing the floor.
“Are we really that close?’ Kaelyn asked, crossing her arms over her chest as a form of protection.
“I’d like to think we’re friends,” JB said, a pout forming on his lips.
“Fine,” Kaelyn conceded. “I will call you Jaebum oppa. If it makes you feel better.”
“It does,” he said, a brilliant smile on his beautiful face.
“What did you need…oppa?” Kaelyn asked, her soul softened by the presence of this man.
“For you to put those clothes away and go on a date with me,” JB said. “I’ll even help you so you finish quickly.”
“JB…” Kaelyn said, thinking she should protest to keep the both of them safe.
“Just one date. We’ll go to the noodle shop and talk about things other than work and if it really turns out that bad…I won’t ever bother you again.”
Kaelyn didn’t have the strength to tell the man before her ‘no’. She didn’t have the will to. Somewhere in this cold, cruel world, she deserved a little piece of happiness too.
“Fine,” she said with a small smile. “Let me put this pile in a box and we will go to dinner.”
Im Jaebum was definitely going to be the end of Kaelyn Grey. Or…the beginning…
And who do you think you are? Running around leaving scars. Collecting your jar of hearts, And tearing love apart. You're gonna catch a cold, From the ice inside your soul. So don't come back for me, Don't come back at all. Who do you think you are?
Chapter 8: Chibikurama (pt 2)/Army_4ever/Loveyouauthornim/pianoplayer22
Chapter Text
Chibikurama: In curious about the bad guys and Mathan xD (lowkey Mathan is my all time fave too bad Jin beat me to him ). And what's the backstory with Mathan too? Like how did his 'team' or band of misfits ended up splintering away but kept in touch (even though its hard to get a hold of them, Mathan must've spend hours or days perhaps even years maybe searching for certain members) and was Mathan a mercenary before he got into the offical bizz with his his shady father?
What became of Mathan's mother? Again I'm curious about the bad guy's backstory trying to get a bigger grasp on them. I feel like his mom may have a vital clue on Mathan's influence and why he ended up wanting to help the boys, and its not from money or lust. None of that. At this point Mathan is even willing to turn himself in or sacrifice his own life making sure the boys escape.
Kaelyngrey: I have included a little backstory here for Mathan, and I hope it is satisfactory.
Mathan’s team got too deep in to a mission and were betrayed. Some of them were killed, some of them are in prison for the rest of their lives, and some of them had enough money to stay comfortably hidden til they die.
Like any good soldier, Mathan never lost track of where his crew went. He has visited every unmarked grave, sent anonymous packages to every prison cell, and satellite tracked every living member, some who will later be revealed and I hope will surprise you.
Mathan started out a solider, then became a mercenary, and now this. He never wanted to be this.
Mathan’s mother died when he was very young, no older than 6. Kaelyn was brand new then. Mathan’s mother had a rare lung disease that stole her breath and ultimately her life, and with it, his father’s sanity.
Mathan’s mother, was a truly amazing person. She was bright, and caring, and loving, and kind. Kaelyn and Mathan are so very much like their mother. Even now she heavily influences Mathan’s decisions and we will see that evidenced later on.
I hope this explanation is enough for now, but if it isn’t please let me know!
Loveyouauthornim: Hello! I would love to see more of Mathan and Seokjinnie's relationship, because I miss them being cute and in love ㅠㅠ also protective Mathan is!!!!!!!! So good!!!!!!!! Thank you for all your investment, I love this story and I'm always looking forward to it <3
pianoplayer22: ooh yes i would love a backstory about mathan and his team!!
Army_4ever: Oh yes i so badly want to see how mathan and seokjin would act if they got to stay together after all this ends, like how they treat each other and how their relationship develops and all the sweet stuff.
"One"
Mathan woke from another nightmare, looking around his room in fear before realizing where he was. This wasn’t hell, it was home, and the angel that he loved so dearly was sleeping peacefully in the next room over where Mathan had tucked him in hours before.
It had been months since Mathan had been released from prison (decades early); but he woke in fear every night of being returned to his tiny cell, Jin smirking at him cruelly before telling him that since the monsters were finally dead, and his purpose fulfilled, he was no longer needed and thus would be returned to the hell he deserved where he would remain until he died.
Flicking on the lamp by his bed Mathan scrubbed his face before looking around again, deciding a shower was in his best interests; his clothes and bedding dripping with sweat from the nightmare he had had.
flashback
Mathan had just completed a mission to some backwater region of Denmark and had made his way to Copenhagen to celebrate what should have been the success of his very last mission. The only problem was that he had been too successful in his career and the higher ups that he reported to were not so willing to let him go.
The cock of the gun rang loudly in his ear as the barrel pressed into his back and he slowly rose to lead the faceless soul in the direction he was being pushed. As soon as he got outside, he knew this might possibly be the very last fight of his life.
“Beorn,” a gruff voice said.
“Dean,” Mathan returned, his posture rigid and his face blank.
“Heard you’re bailing out on us,” the older man said as he examined the brass knuckles on his hand.
“I…wouldn’t look at it like that,” Mathan said.
“Where ya going?” the man asked.
Mathan just shrugged.
“The old man is getting up there in age. Someone needs to go keep his senile ass in check don’t you think?”
“How is your dear old dad?” Dean asked, a certain kind of glimmer in his eye.
“Conniving as ever,” Mathan smirked back.
“Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree does it?” Dean asked, his gaze predatory.
“Life of a crook, yeah?” Mathan said, seeing how this would go.
He didn’t even have a chance to brace for the pipe that hit him from behind. When he came back to, it was with a painful groan. He belatedly realized where he was, closing his eyes again and hoping against hope he would never get to open them again. He knew what they had planned for him now and he didn’t like it…not one bit. The last several days flashed painfully before his eyes, causing him to choke back a sob as he remembered everything they had done to him. Beating, dunking, tazzing…every form of torture they could think of they executed with cruelty. At the end of every session he had wanted to die…begged for death to take him already…but the monsters in charge only laughed, bringing him back to life again and again.
“She died because of you,” the cruel voice had said. “If only you had played along, your family might still be alive…”
Without her…
end flashback
Mathan didn’t fight them any more after that. He didn’t have a reason to… Every hope and dream he ever had…was gone. Murdered in the middle of the night, no chance to fight back or run.
The distraction made him sloppy. It cost a lot of lives…made him lots of enemies. No one wanted to team up with such a nube.
The first time Mathan was arrested was in Spain. He had had every intention of getting caught; was willing to spill every nasty detail of every nasty plan he had ever carried out. He would go down swinging and take those monsters with him if he could.
Sirens and police signals surrounded him in a heartbeat. Somewhere in the distance a dozen guitars were playing the same sad tune. Cassie had told him music was the only medicine strong enough to heal the soul, and in that moment, Mathan prayed for it to fill his heart. He felt his blood drenching his clothing as a cough from the man beside him splattered more blood across his face…
They were dying. Here in this godforsaken back alley in some region of Spain they were dying like the low life vermin that they were.
Mathan hadn’t been home in three-hundred forty-seven days. He had briefly snuck in to the country to visit their graves before having to leave again. Even his dreams betrayed him these days. No matter how much he hoped and prayed he never saw his family’s faces again. The worn-out picture he had in his wallet was the only physical thing he had to remember them by and even it was an older memory than the time when they had died. Mavi Grace had only been three days old when the picture was taken…
For those few short months Mathans life had been a dream, and back then he guessed it was more of a dream than he had ever deserved. Now he knew that he never deserved such a small piece of Heaven at all. He didn’t even deserve the one he had now. Cassie and Mathan…Mathan and Seokjin…they were never meant to be…
Climbing out of the shower Mathan dried off and put on a fresh set of clothes, dumping the dirty ones in the hamper and hanging his towel on the rack before changing out his bedding and crossing the hall to check on the angel sleeping there. Satisfied that all was well Mathan went back to his room and sat on his bed, opening the drawer in the nightstand and pulling out a stack of letters from all his months in hell.
Mathan had written one letter for every day of his punishment but only one of them had reached the man they were intended for. It had taken Seokjin several weeks to track them down, but he still had not managed to read them and honestly Mathan hoped beyond hope that his angel had forgotten that they even existed. The words that he had written had been intended to make Seokjin angry…to make him wish to never see or hear from Mathan again…
Mathan had clung to that letter like a lifeline. It was the only response he had ever gotten from his angel and it had given him more hope than anyone knew. He had promised then and there that if he ever made it out of Hell alive he would never leave Seokjins side again.
Sometimes though the promise was hard to keep. BTS had faced a lot of prejudices since their return, and more often than not, the bulk of those comments were targeted at Seokjin. Mathan had thought on several occasions that if leaving his angel would make life easier for the man then he would; yet here he still was, hiding behind a company, and a group, and a complicated web of lies.
“You can’t hold him in limbo forever, Mathan,” the voice on the other end of the line had said. “He’s at that age. He’ll want to marry soon and…who are you to keep him from that? All his friends are getting married and settling down. You need to decide if you want a lover or a friend at night. Until then I cannot help you…”
“Photograph”
“Love hurts, Mathan,” Dorian Foley had sneered. “No one is worth that kind of pain no matter who you think they are to you…”
“Remember my child,” his mother had whispered, her breaths becoming labored. “Love…is patient…and kind. Brave. Be…brave…”
“One must simply have courage, and be kind, dear brother,” Kaelyn said softly late one night, the adopted siblings separated by thousands of miles of loneliness. “Love makes you brave. So…do not be afraid. Just go towards your dreams courageously and honorably and respectfully and…no one will ever be able to tell you ‘no’…”
Mathan had gone to put away the letters when a photo fell from of one of the envelopes. Bending over to pick it up Mathan stilled, all the air gone from his lungs as his eyes processed what he was seeing. He had not laid eyes on this picture in over a year…
flashback
“I need you!” Cassandra said, her tone pleading. “I don’t care about the details. I only need you. Need is stronger than love and…I’ll love you forever but…I can not live without you…”
“Cassie!” Mathan said, his eyes closing as he tried to make the girl see reason. “It isn’t safe here. You… won’t be safe. I could never live with myself if something happened to you. I won’t risk it. So just… leave. Forget you ever knew me. Forget everything we had and…move some place far far away from here. Start over. Find someone new. Be happy. Live well.”
“I love you,” she had said, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“And I can’t live in a world where your beauty doesn’t exist,” Mathan said softly, wiping away the tears with his thumbs as he looked his love in the eyes. “Please…”
Mathans baby blues were almost impossible to ignore but Cassandra was headstrong, and she fought for what she believed in.
“We can keep it secret,” she whispered. “I’ll go somewhere and…you can hide me away and…I’ll wait until you’re free. We can grow old together then. Please???”
end flashback
Mathan remembered so clearly the day he swallowed his nerves and asked the girl who had been with him through it all to be his beautiful bride. He had stayed up all night on a video chat with Kaelyn to make sure everything was perfect. She teased him for his speech and asked when he became so soft but the smile on her face had said it all, she was happy for him.
“Take care of my girl there, brother,” she had said with a devious grin. “She’s a wildcat for sure…”
The wedding had been a simple affair and the vows had been homemade, but it was everything Mathan could have asked for and in that moment, he had foolishly thought that they were safe…
Cassandra had borrowed her vows from Kiersten White’s ‘The Chaos of Stars’ and Mathan had cheesily pulled an Edward Cullen but the words could not have been truer or more personal had they written them on their own.
"I never thought…that in all my years…I would meet someone that I could bear my entire soul to. Someone who would love me and accept me for the person that I am. The person I have been… Today is such an extraordinary moment and…I can’t believe that I am blessed enough to share it with someone as amazing and beautiful as my sweet Cassie. I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. I can’t even remember a time when she did not exist…I don’t want to… So, I promise to honor and to cherish her, until the day I die.”
Cassie had cried when she heard the words that Mathan had to say. He had had such a hard time expressing himself in front of others and to hear these words spoken in front of their family and friends was something Cassie would never forget.
"I didn't fall in love with you,” she said. “I walked into love with you, eyes wide open, choosing to take every step along the way. I do believe in fate and destiny, but I also believe we are only fated to do the things that we'd choose anyway. And I'd choose you. In a hundred lifetimes. In a hundred worlds. In any version of reality, I would find you and I would choose you."
Their wedded bliss had lasted sixteen hours before Mathan was called away on another mission. He would not see his new bride for ninety-seven days.
None of his team understood why he had done it but they followed him as always, agreeing to take his secret to the grave and sadly enough, most of them had. They had seen both sides of Mathan, so they knew he had the compassion within him, but they could not grasp the stupidity that had obviously overcome him to make him put an innocent life in danger. Cassandra would never know 100% the evils that Mathan faced. For all the evil she had seen in Mathan, she had also seen the side of him that was loving and kind like his mother had encouraged him to be, and she knew that the hateful, ice cold facade he wore was all for show. He had not yet been able to be the uncaring machine that his father had tried to force him to be.
Mathan had barely escaped with his life the night the Ivchenkos learned of his betrayal. Thankfully some old contacts had already gotten to Cassie and quietly moved her to a safe house miles away from harm.
“Baby!” she shrieked when she opened the door to find Mathan a broken, bloody mess.
“Cas…” he breathed as he doubled over against the pain.
“Mathan what- “
She didn’t need an answer though. She already knew.
“How…how did they find out?” she asked, wrapping her arms around herself protectively.
“Dunno,” Mathan groaned as he fell into the house, his insides on fire as he felt several of his ribs shift.
“What will we do?” Cassie whispered, dropping to her knees next to him.
“I need you to hide…”
Six months later Mathan was by Cassies’ side welcoming their new bundle of joy into the world. Mavi Grace came in to their lives at 7:23pm August 1st, 2012 weighing 5 pounds, 9 ounces and measuring 17 inches long. Her daddy was sure that he would break her. The picture he stared at now had captured the happiness and pride he had felt deep within his soul. His family was complete, his heart was full, and his days as a mercenary were almost to an end. If only he had known…
Flashback
“Was she worth it?” Alexander Ivchenko purred as he looked at the broken man before him.
“I dunno what you’re talking about,” Mathan managed to say, looking the mafia boss in the eye.
“Cassandra,” the man said with a greasy smile. “Was she worth all this pain?”
“Where is she?” Mathan breathed, his heart seizing in his chest.
“Where is my daughter in law?” Alexander hissed, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
“How would I know?” Mathan spat.
“Because you are the one who took her!” the man yelled, spit flying from his mouth.
“She’s somewhere far away from you and your pathetic excuse for a son,” Mathan returned, straightening the best he could.
“My son…loves his wife very much, and he commands that you return her to her home where she belongs.”
“I wasn’t aware your kind knew how to love,” Mathan said with a smirk.
“WHERE IS SHE???” the older man shouted, grabbing Mathan by the neck and squeezing as hard as he could.
“Really father,” came a velveteen voice from the door. “You must watch out for your health. It does no good to get worked up over such trivial things.”
Sven Ivchenko stood at the door to Mathans room, a smirk on his face as he leaned against the door frame and crossed his arms over his chest.
Mathan immediately pulled at his restraints as he attempted to get to the man in front of him.
“WHERE IS SHE?” he roared, looking Sven in the eye as he took in the mans’ posture.
“A jewel, for a jewel, dear brother in law,” Sven purred, an evil smirk on his face.
“I swear to God if you have hurt one hair on her head I will KILL you!” Mathan growled.
Sven laughed as he pushed himself off the doorframe and straightened his suit jacket.
“I’m shaking!” he said in a mock frightened tone.
Alexander smirked at the cruel turn his son had taken since his wife had disappeared. Maybe he would not be so useless after all.
“I think I’ll just leave you boys to it then,” he said, a hint of pride coloring his tone as he regarded his son.
“Certainly, father,” Sven said with a polite nod and shallow bow.
When the man had exited the room and the door slammed closed behind them Svens face changed.
“Where is she?” he whispered, looking slightly frantic.
“Safe,” Mathan said after a moment.
“I swear to God I had nothing to do with Cassandra,” Sven said.
“Please tell me they are safe,” Mathan whispered, the pain he felt in his chest reflected in his eyes.
“They?” Sven asked in confusion.
“My daughter and my wife!” Mathan said, feeling the panic set in. “Where are my daughter and my wife?”
“I…assume they are…being held until Kaelyn is returned…” Sven said, sounding unsure.
“You know that will never happen,” Mathan said. “Not after everything that has happened. Not after…”
A darkness crossed both of their faces.
“You know I cannot stop him,” Sven said softly.
“You know it takes everything in me not to beat you to death for what happened to my sister,” Mathan growled.
“If I find them…will you get a message to her?” Sven had asked, trying not to sound hopeful.
“You better pray they are alive,” Mathan said, his eyes deadly once again as they burned a hole through the younger man.
For three days Mathan was pushed to the threshold of oblivion only to be brought back into the light time and time again. For three days he bit his tongue and withstood the pain, his only anchor being the people he had thought he safely left behind. On the fourth day however, his reality was shattered, and his soul lost to the wind.
“I’m so sorry,” the man before him breathed. “I did everything I could but…”
“What do you mean you’re sorry?” Mathan asked, unable to process the words as he fell to the ground from his freshly released restraints.
“I failed them,” Sven said, coming to stand before the man who had once been his friend.
“Where is Cassie and Mavi Grace?” Mathan growled, unable to look up at the man who stood before him.
“I don’t know where they hid the bodies…” Sven said softly.
Bodies.
He didn’t know…where.
“I’ll fucking KILL YOU!” Mathan roared as he came up off the floor and pinned the man before him to the wall, feet dangling several inches off the floor. “YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP THE SAFE!”
Sven clawed at the hand around his throat as his oxygen was cut off, eyes wide in horror.
“You’ll never see Kaelyn again. And if you EVER attempt to contact her, I will kill you myself.”
Throwing the young Russian to the floor Mathan stalked out, terminating six guards along the way before entering the elder Ivchenkos office and shooting him at point blank range, killing him instantly. Of course, he paid dearly for his transgressions, and for the next year and a half he was under the new head of the Ivchenko family, doing everything that was asked of him as he desperately tried to keep his only living family safe.
“Never contact me again,” his sister had said the last time he called. “All of my family is dead. I don’t know a Mathan Foley.”
How many years now had Mathan carried this picture in the folds of his wallet? Probably too many to count. Definitely more than his heart wanted to admit to. Mavi Grace would be almost five now.
“Mathan-ah?” Jin spoke from the door, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “Is something wrong?”
Mathans head shot up and his eyes got wide as he gathered up all the letters and shoved them in his drawer once again missing the picture that had fallen on the floor but caught his angels attention.
Crossing the room Jin bent and picked it up, his brow furrowing as he took in the scene.
“Jagiya…” he said, staring harder at the picture. “Who is this?”
Mathan froze as he realized what was in Seokjins hand, and as much as he wanted to feign innocence, he knew that he was caught.
“It isn’t…it isn’t what you think,” Mathan said softly, digging his grave quicker than he meant to.
Seokjin hadn’t really thought anything. Not until Mathan had put it in such a way.
“Is there something you aren’t telling me?” he asked, trying not to sound hurt as all the worst ideas flooded through his mind.
“Seokjin-ah…” Mathan said slowly.
“Who is she?” Seokjin asked again.
“She’s no one,” Mathan said. “Just…someone from my past but…she doesn’t matter anymore so…”
Why couldn’t Mathan bring himself to tell? It wasn’t like Cassie was with him anymore. It wasn’t like he could still smell her sweet perfume or…the lilac shampoo that she used or…the gentle ivory soap she would give Mavi Grace a bath in…
“Why do you have her picture still?”
“I didn’t realize it was still there…” Mathan said softly.
“You look like you love her very much here…” Seokjin said sadly, giving Mathan a broken smile.
“I did…a long time ago…”
We keep this love in a photograph
We made these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
Times forever frozen still
So, you can keep me
Inside the pocket
Of your ripped jeans
Holdin' me closer
'Til our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone
Wait for me to come home…
“There Is No Happily Ever After Anymore”
Jin found himself staring at the picture, unable to pull his eyes from it. Had he ever seen Mathan look that carefree, that happy with him? The ease of Mathans smile in the picture, the love on his face as he gazed up at the camera; it was a love born in the light of day.
What he and Mathan shared had been born in darkness, fed by shared fear and pain. How could it stand in the face of such pure beauty?
Handing the photograph back to Mathan, he felt like his heart was shattering into a million pieces. What Jin saw in that photograph was a man happy, a man at peace, a man with a family. A man whose heart Jin could not touch because it did not belong to him…it belonged to the woman and child in the photograph. As much as he wanted to, Jin could not stop the tears that filled his eyes and rolled down his cheeks.
“They mean something to you, otherwise you would not have carried it around all this time, Mathan-ah. Why have you never spoken of them to me?”
Mathan felt his heart break in that moment as he saw his angel cry. A part of him wanted to comfort Jin physically but a larger part wondered if that comfort would even be accepted.
“I guess…” he said as he looked at the picture, trying not to get lost again. “The part of me that isn’t so great… has a really hard time trusting people and… I wanted…to tell you. I even…I wrote you a letter but…you never got it and…now we’re both here so…”
Wondering if he was strong enough to hear Mathan speak of loving someone else, Jin berated himself for being so weak. He knew that this man had a past, things he still had not shared, but Jin was starting to fear that secrets between them would shatter any hope for the future.
“I know that there has been pain and anger between us, Jagiya…but have I ever betrayed your trust? Have I ever said or done something that made you believe you couldn’t share any part of yourself with me?”
Mathan shook his head as he bit his cheek.
“Do you know how they died?” he asked, not looking at Jin. “I told a man who had been my closest friend for years…the same man I allowed to take my sisters hand in marriage…that they existed, and he had them killed out of hatred and jealousy when plans he had made did not go his way.”
Jin suddenly felt like he had taken a hit to the gut; his mind flashing back to a night when Sven had him pulled from their cage to drunkenly taunt him about not knowing the real Mathan Foley.
“Sven….”
Mathan looked up at Jin wide eyed. He had never told anyone about his past friendship with Sven. No one outside of the family even knew that Mathan and Sven had been associated in any way, and they had both known for a fact no living soul would ever have called them friends.
“How…” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“One night he had his guard come for me…the others were all asleep. It was before him…” Jin couldn’t bring himself to talk or think of that particular monster at the moment.
“He was drunk…Jimin was curled up in a recliner; he wouldn’t even look at me. But I could see that he was holding an ice pack to his face. Sven started going on about how I was in love with a man who wasn’t real. That I didn’t know the real you and he did. He kept saying that he knew all your secrets and that he should do me a favor and tell me so I would know who Mathan Foley really was.”
Mathan nodded at that.
“What…did he tell you about me?” he asked slowly, his tone somehow hollow. “Besides I was a monster?”
Jin laughed helplessly as he curled arms around himself, fingernails scratching up and down his arms.
“He didn’t say much beyond that. Just that there were truths that you and he shared and if I knew them, then I would know who you really were. He suddenly started talking about someone named Beorn, his most trusted friend who betrayed him and took everything away from him. After that he passed out and I spent the next hour curled up in the recliner crying with Jimin. “
Tears ran down Jin’s cheeks faster and the scratching became harder.
“It was Jimin who had to call the guard to take me back to the others and the next time I saw Sven, it was like he didn’t remember.”
“Seokjin,” Mathan said, his tone firm. “Stop. You’re hurting yourself.”
Reaching out slowly Mathan took the man in his arms and pulled him to him like a child.
“I…am Beorn. That was my code name for…things I did that I will probably never tell you because…I have always been a god-forsaken devil. Soulless and without remorse but… Sven let his father betray him and…I should have never let him have my sister. Even when I saved her it was still too late and… that’s why she won’t acknowledge me when I see her in public. Because now that you are safe and home I am dead to her once more…”
Jin wrapped his arms tight around Mathan letting the man’s scent and strength anchor him.
“Will you tell me about her?” he asked. “About both of them? I know there are dark places inside of you that you are afraid to share with me. I pray that someday that will change but for right now…will you share those light places in your soul with me? Let me cry with you for them, Jagiya…”
Mathan just held his angel as he thought, slowly rocking back and forth as he considered if there was really anything he wanted to say.
“I don’t…” he started. “I can’t cry over them because…I don’t know where they are. Sven never told me and…I killed his father when I found out…everything. They were the only two who knew…”
Pulling back from Mathan Jin looked into his love’s blue eyes and the raw burning pain there almost sent him to his knees. It reminded him of the same pain he had seen in his parent’s eyes when they talked of when they thought him dead. Of not knowing where his body was and not having something physical they could grieve over.
“I can’t give you that, Jagiya, but let me help you put them to rest.”
Taking Mathan’s hand, the one holding the picture, Jin led him back to the bed. Crawling onto it and laying down he pulled the larger man into his arms cradling Mathan’s head on his chest.
“I want you to close your eyes and see a green hill…standing there is Cassie with your baby girl. I want you to walk up to them, introduce me to them, tell me about them…let me love them with you.”
With that Jin began to sing as he held tight to the man he loved more than his own life.
So far away, if I have a dream
If I have a dream that flies away
Don’t fall away, yea, if I have a dream
If I have a dream that flies away, oh, oh, oh
Mathan closed his eyes as he was told, but for the life of him he could not find the words. How did he encompass so much into so little? He had never been good at vocalizing his emotions or sharing personal thoughts, and the things he was being asked to share were his deepest, darkest secrets.
“Cassie… Cassie smelled like ivory soap. All the time. And lilacs. She was Kaelyns friend… So annoying but… She had the prettiest green eyes and…she laughed a lot…all the time and…God she was so damn stubborn when she wanted something,” Mathan said softly. “I begged her not to be with me. To… run as far away as she could and…never look back. I don’t have the strength to ask that of you and…I’m sorry…”
“She loved you,” Jin said softly. “Just as I do. Nothing and no one, not even you, could make me leave you. Mathan…jagiya…to walk away from you is to walk away without my soul. And I am sure that she felt the same way.”
Jin took the hand holding the picture and held it up so they both could look at it.
“I see in her eyes what I feel in my heart. I wish that evil had not taken them from you and if I could give them back to you, I would. Because to see the man in this picture…that would be my greatest joy.”
Mathan shifted his head to look up at Seokjin.
“If it came down to it… I pushed you away once… To keep you safe I would do it again, and I would need you to trust me,” he said softly. “I won’t survive losing you again. Promise me…if I ever tell you to run…you will run away and not look back. Not ever.”
As much as Jin now wanted to protest, one look into Mathans eyes and he knew he had to give him this bit of peace.
“I want to say no, that I will never leave your side, but I see now how much losing her hurt you. I don’t ever want to be the cause of that kind of pain for you. So, as much as it will hurt me…I will make that promise to you and I will keep it.”
The sobs that shook Jins body at that thought had him scooting down Mathans body to bury his face in his beloveds’ chest.
Mathan pulled Jin close, burying his face in the younger mans hair and inhaling deeply.
“Please don’t think I don’t love you with every piece of me,” he said softly. “Because I love you with everything that I have.” Mathan closed his eyes against the pain he was causing the other man. “I never meant to hurt you like this,” he said softly. “I just…I wanted to protect you and…obviously I have failed…”
Jin shook his head violently against Mathan’s chest.
“No, it isn’t that…it is the thought of being apart from you. I know it must smother you sometimes…this need that I have but…after everything that has happened...”
He couldn’t go on. Jin hated being weak, especially in front of Mathan who had been so strong for them through all the hell they had gone through.
How could he explain this fear that he woke up with every day that someone would come and take the man he loved away? The fear sometimes was so bad that he couldn’t catch his breath and with it came an overwhelming need to cling to Mathan with all his strength.
“I’m sorry, Jagiya…”
Mathan took Jins chin in his hand, forcing the man to look at him.
“Being with you is a lot easier than you seem to think it is,” he said softly. “And while it is one of the most overwhelming and unimaginable things I have ever experienced…it will never be smothering. So don’t you ever apologize, do you hear me?”
Slowly leaning in Mathan claimed Jins lips in a soft kiss before pulling away.
“I know I’m…standoffish and cold hearted, but it doesn’t mean that I do not care for you…or…anyone that you care for by extension. I’m just…epically awesome when it comes to sucking at showing my emotions. It’s my biggest character flaw but…it is what it is…”
“To me you are perfect, Mathan-ah. I don’t want to change who you are…I just want to make you happy.”
Laying his head back on Mathan’s chest he silently counted heartbeats, each one soothing and relaxing to him.
“You make me the happiest I have ever been,” Mathan said softly as he carded his fingers through Jin’s hair. “But why are you awake? It’s like...4am...”
Jin started, his mind immediately flooded with memories of the nightmare that awakened him in a cold sweat and sent him searching for Mathan.
Tangling tight fingers in Mathan’s shirt, Jin whispered, “The doctor…”
Mathan closed his eyes as well. Yet another time he had failed his angel.
“I promise…that you are safe here,” he said softly. “Never again will someone hurt you. I’m here now, and until you send me away I will protect you. All of you. Even if it is the last thing I ever do. And if that sick freak ever shows his face again…”
Mathan had ordered the remaining members of Svens crew be hunted like dogs. He had sent contacts to the ends of the earth and back but so far it was to no avail.
“He will be killed before he even knows he is being hunted…”
There was a part of Jin that welcomed that news. He wanted…no, he needed that monster dead, but at the same time he felt shame that he wanted another human being gone. It was his sin to bear, and he wished he didn’t have to lay it at Mathans feet.
“I didn’t dream about the doctor…not of ‘that’ night. It is always the same. The guards pull me into a room and you are chained to a wall and the doctor is holding the branding iron. And no matter how I beg or scream or offer myself to him…he just keeps laying it against your skin over and over again. When I wake I am sure that no matter how hard I look you won’t be anywhere to be found.”
Mathan breathed in deep and let it go slow.
“A thousands times over…better me than you,” he said. “And…if you remember correctly…the only one who can send me away is you so…unless you wish to relinquish your guardianship of me to the South Korean government, I’m not going anywhere my love.”
Jin let the memories of the nightmare fade away as he smiled against Mathans chest. He began tracing patterns over the cloth covered flesh of his lover’s stomach. A small laugh escaped as he realized he was outlining his name on Mathans body.
“Does that mean you belong to me and have to do whatever I tell you?” he asked as he tilted his head back and gave the man a naughty grin.
Mathan smirked at the man, glad that his fears seemed to be leaving him for now.
“No, brat,” he teased. “I may belong to you but I’m still older so you have to do what I say.”
Cupping his chin in his hand and bracing himself on Mathans chest, Jin asked, “Just what do you tell me to do, jagiya?”
Mathan considered the man before him, wondering how he had gotten so lucky.
“Sleep lots,” he said softly, reaching out a hand and stroking Jins cheek. “Eat well. Be happy. Stay healthy.”
The look of love and adoration on Mathans face was almost enough to make Seokjin burst.
“As long as I can be in your arms, jagiya…all of those things will be as you say.”
Jin laid his head back on Mathans chest closing his eyes and counting heartbeats.
Mathan smiled at that, his own eyes closing as he traced his fingers up and down Jins spine, trailing them over the fabric of the mans shirt, humming a soft tune as his mind started to relax.
Snuggling closer to Mathan, the song he was humming drifting through Jin’s head, pushed him into sleep as his thoughts turned from nightmares to brighter dreams.

JParkTKimJJeon3: Hi there! I think it might be nice to know what happened with TaeHyung and Jungkook. Excellent work so far!
Kaelyngrey: Thank you so much! More of their relationship does come out in part 2, but I think I can put something together to showcase what they were pre-taegi and how all of that came to be if you would like?
JParkTKimJJeon3: Yes, I think that would be fantastic! It feels like there is still something there, something that is different from the other relationships between the guys. I can't wait to see what you do with it! Thanks for the quick reply!
Kaelyngrey: Any time! I'm actually really excited to explore this so thank you so much for suggesting it!!!!

Kiss Her
“Hyung,” Taehyung said softly as he approached his favorite brother who was currently sitting at the kitchen table scribbling out lyrics for a song he wanted to produce. “Can I ask you…”
Hoseok looked at the boy before him, tilting his head to one side as he considered his favorite dongsaeng.
“How…do I tell someone…I like them?” he finished shyly.
“Actions speak louder than words you know,” Hoseok said, giving the shy boy before him a bright smile. “So if you like someone…show them.”
“How?” Taehyung asked, his head tilted in confusion.
“Kiss her?” Hoseok said, his tone unsure as a cute little pout graced his features.
No one in the group had been aware that Taehyung had those kinds of feelings towards someone.
“What is the person like?” Yoongi asked, entering the kitchen and taking a seat next to his fellow rapper.
Taehyung just shrugged, unsure of how to describe him, and unwilling to give such intimate details away to someone he worried might not approve of his choices.
“Kiss her,” Yoongi said simply. “Slowly. Take your time. Show her that there is no place you’d rather be. Kiss her, but don’t make it seem like you are waiting for something else…something better. Trail your hands beneath her shirt, tangle them in her hemline, make her feel overwhelmed by your affections. Kiss her like you’ve forgotten any other mouth that your mouth has ever touched. Kiss her with a curious, childish delight. Laugh into her mouth, inhale her sighs. Kiss her until she moans. Kiss her with her face in your hands. Or your hands in her hair. Pull her closer at the waist. Kiss her like you want to take her dancing. Like you want to spin her into an open arena and watch her look at you like you’re the brightest thing she’s ever seen. Kiss her like she’s the brightest thing you’ve ever seen. Take your time. Kiss her like the first and only piece of chocolate you’re ever going to taste. Kiss her until she forgets how to count. Kiss her stupid. Kiss her silent. Come away, ask her what 2+2 is, and listen to her say your name in answer.”
Taehyung nodded at that and smiled, wondering if it would work for the opposite sex.
“Taehyungie,” Hoseok said softly, a knowing smirk on her face. “What are you waiting for? Permission? It’s a little too late for that, don’t you think? Grab him! Grab him hard! Harder! More confidently. Pull him in and push him against the wall. Take him by the back of the neck and kiss him like you might fucking die without the right amount of passion. That's it. Stop searching for the right words, or timing, and take him to his limit. Because that feeling, in that moment…that's poetry, and no words can do that justice."
“H-him?” Taehyung asked, feeling his heart seize.
“Jungkookah feels the same way. He’s just waiting for you to make a move and tell him that it’s right.”
I Know
For the last three years Taehyung had been living a dream he had never thought possible. He had gained millions of fans, five brothers, and...someone who he would do anything for, even if the other didn't feel the same. Now as Bangtan Sonyeondan was preparing for KCon NY, their Third Festa, and buckling down to work on a new album, Taehyung, better known a V, wondered just how great their life was about to get. Years from now he would see that anything his heart desired would be made possible through the work of not only himself, but BTS and ARMY as a whole. And maybe, just maybe, one bright eyed, beautiful boy who held Taehyungs heart.
Taehyung woke when it was still dark to a soft knocking on his door.
"Hyung?" he heard a soft voice call.
Taehyung groaned as he rolled over turning on his bedroom lamp and rubbing his eyes, hearing the soft knock come again. Heaving a sigh he stumbled out of his bed to open the door where he found a distraught looking Kookie holding a pillow and trying to wipe tear tracks from his face.
"Jungkookah?" Taehyung asked in quiet alarm. "What's wrong?"
The boy before him shook his head and tried to smile, trying to convince himself now that his hyung was up that he was being stupid and that he should have just rolled over and gone back to sleep.
"Kookie?" Taehyung asked again, crouching to catch his friends eye.
"Nightmare..." Jungkook mumbled, now feeling ashamed. "I had...a nightmare..."
Taehyung let out the breath he hadn't known he was holding as he closed his eyes in relief, reaching out and pulling the younger boy to him, wrapping him in a warm hug and patting his head.
"Come lay down," he said to the boy, pulling him with him and into his bed, pulling Kookie close and covering them both up.
"Tell hyung about your nightmare," Tae said as he closed his eyes, secretly lost in the scent of the boy before him, but wanting to comfort his dongsaeng who he cared for.
"It's stupid..." Jungkook mumbled.
"Tell me anyway," Taehyung said, looking into the boys eyes with sincerity.
"What if...K-Con goes bad?" Kookie asked, sounding small.
"It won't," Tae said firmly. "ARMY will be there. That is all that matters. Just one ARMY will make it okay, hmm?"
Jungkook sniffed and nodded at that.
"What...if our new album is no good?" he asked instead.
"You are on it so it will be amazing," Tae said simply, holding his maknae a little closer.
"Hyung..." Kookie started.
"You should sleep Jungkookie," Taehyung said. "Our flight leaves tomorrow and you know you can't sleep on the plane."
Kookie nodded at that.
"Can I..." he started.
Taehyung smiled softly at the boy before him, pulling him flush against him, his chin on the younger boys head as he rubbed his back and sang him to sleep.
The next morning Taehyung woke and made sure he had everything packed, throwing on his clothes for the day and going and gathering all of Kookies items, packing little things here and there that he knew the boy had forgotten before picking out one of Kookies favorite outfits for him and going to the kitchen to help Seokjin with breakfast, taking special care with Jungkook's plate.
"He in your room?" Jin asked, a knowing smirk on his face.
"Nightmare," Taehyung said, giving his hyung a dead ass look.
"You gonna tell him?" Jin asked.
"No," Taehyung said softly.
"Don't wait forever just to have your heart broken, or to start living the kind of life you really want to live," Jin said.
"He isn't like that..."
"I think you would be surprised," Jin said as he handed his dongsaeng two plates and gave him a soft smile.
Giving his brother a nod Taehyung turned and walked back to his room, sitting the plates on his desk and getting his maknae up, telling him to go was his face and come eat before brushing his teeth and changing, giving his trademark boxy smile when Kookie smacked his face and started whining about how puffy it was.
"Jungkookah is always perfect," Taehyung said, shooting his brother finger hearts.
Kookie just laughed and disappeared into the bathroom.
The next few days past by in a blur, and then the Festa was going on, and the members were in and out of the studio and Tae barely saw Jungkook, and when he did, the both of them were drop dead exhausted.
Soon three more months had past and the boys were preparing for tour and Taehyungs heart was physically causing him pain which had not gone unnoticed by his members. Worried for his health they insisted he see the doctor but he kindly refused, knowing exactly the reason for the pain in his chest. A few days later he pulled Jungkook aside and to a private room he knew no one else would enter.
"What is it, hyung?" Jungkook asked, looking at Taehyung in concern.
Tae was covered in sweat, his complexion pale, and his forehead crinkled in worry. He had never been so nervous in his entire life.
"I..." he started, immediately losing his bravery.
Jungkook just looked at him expectantly.
"I....uh..." Taehyung tried again, all words failing him as his palms started to sweat.
"Hyung?" Jungkook asked in question, his tone slightly concerned.
Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath Taehyung did the only thing he knew to do. Leaning in slowly he placed his lips upon the youngers in a soft kiss before pulling back, looking Jungkook in the eye.
Kookie just stood there eyes wide in shock trying to process everything that had happened; his mind refusing to catch up with his heart. It was probably that momentary pause that had given his hyung the wrong idea, making Taehyung flee from the room as quickly as he could. When Jungkook finally did come to his senses he brushed his lips with his fingers as a small smile appeared. He was suddenly warm, his heart finally full as he thought about what had just happened. Running from the room he searched for Taehyung everywhere but the boy was nowhere to be found.
"Namjoon hyung," Jungkook said, running up to his leader, stopping for a moment to catch his breath. "Hyung, I need a favor," he said, his eyes bright with excitement.
Namjoon just looked at the maknae in confusion until Jungkook leaned in and whispered in his ear.
Eyes wide Namjoon looked at the boy, a smile splitting his face at the joy he too now felt.
"Of course," Namjoon agreed, pulling the boy into a congratulatory hug.
That night at the concert Taehyung seemed very standoffish towards Jungkook, spending most of his time clinging to his Yoongi hyung and while Kookie told himself it was all a misunderstanding that would be cleared up soon, it did not ease the hurt he now felt in his heart. He had not meant for his hyung to take his silence the wrong way. He had just been caught so off guard with it all that it had taken him a moment to figure out how to properly react. Everyone knew where Taehyungs feelings went in terms of what he preferred, but Jungkook had not even began to explore his. He had only been sure once Taehyung had claimed his lips in a soft, sweet kiss. His first kiss. He would remember the burn for the rest of his life. It had set all of him on fire.
As the solo stages came Jungkook waited for Taehyung to come off from his, a nervous smile on his face. When Taehyung came down Jungkook grabbed his hand, noticing a slight resistance but not letting it bother him.
"Hyung," Jungkook said softly. "I...want you to watch me. I...Namjoon hyung and I...we wrote something and..." Jungkook didn't know what else to say. "Please?" he asked, giving Taehyung the best puppy dog eyes he had.
Sighing as he dropped his head, Taehyung agreed and Jungkook let out a soft shout of excitement as he ran on stage with his hyung, his smile a million watts bright.
The lights dropped low as Jungkook took his spot on stage, right where he could see Taehyung in the wings and suddenly his stomach was filled with butterflies. He was about to make the biggest confession he ever would in front of 30,000 fans. He didn't even labor under the delusion they wouldn't figure it out.
As the music started, Jungkook opened his eyes, looked right at his hyung, and began to sing.
"Know you love me boy,
So that I love you.
Know you love me boy,
So that I love you.
For 3 years,
Thank you so much,
for being by my side.
Know you love me boy,
So that I love you.
Know you love me boy,
So that I love you,
Always,
I’ll be there for you,
by your side,
Don’t worry bout a thing,
My love...
Taehyung listened to the song, his heart filled with a million different emotions; hope, fear, trepidation, wonder. Jungkook was beautiful on stage that night, and for reasons he could not explain (and thoughts he refused to entertain) he felt as though he was alone with the boy he loved in the sold out arena. It was amazing.
So caught in his emotions, and so lost in his thoughts Taehyung was, he did not notice when the song ended and Namjoon and Jungkook exited the stage, his maknae stopping in front of him and clearing his throat to get his attention.
"That was..." Tae started, stopping to lick his lips as he thought.
Jungkook gave the boy a shy bunny smile and looked at his hands as he tried to calm his nerves.
"I just..." he started, laughing softly and shuffling his feet.
"It's okay," Taehyung said, "if you don't..."
Jungkook snapped his head up, his eyes wide.
"No!" he said, holding his hands up in front of him and shaking his head. "It isn't..." Blushing slightly Jungkook moved his hands to cover his face. "I'd never been kissed before..." he said softly.
"Ever?" Taehyung asked in surprise.
Jungkook just shyly nodded.
"I'm sorry," Taehyung said, sounding ashamed.
"Don't be," Jungkook said, looking at him with a smile. "It was...nice..."
Taehyung looked up at the boy, a slow smile spreading across his lips.
"Really?" he asked, sounding hopeful.
Jungkook smiled a little wider and nodded.
"Maybe...we could..."
This time Kookie took the lead, leaning in slowly, his hand resting on the back of Taehyungs neck as he claimed the older boys lips in a soft kiss, relishing in the slow burn that spread through his body and out of his fingers and toes, the world floating away as this one kiss anchored him to the only reality he wanted to know.
The moment was broken by a series of catcalls as their brothers ran past them laughing and slapping the boys on the back telling them they had missed costume change and they had five minutes to get the right clothes on as the older members stalled. Breaking apart and blushing before giving one another smiles the two ran down the stairs shedding clothes in the middle of the backstage area, helping one another pull on outfits, zipping and buttoning one another into clothing before running back towards the stage Kookie picking Tae up piggy back style and sitting him down where the rest of the group was waiting, the two dissolving in to giggles at their own little inside joke.
After the concert that night the two took turns showering in the hotel room they shared before ordering room service. Once everything was in order and they had been fed and returned the dishes, Taehyung laid sideways on his bed looking at the boy who held his heart.
"You okay?" he asked softly as he considered the boy.
Jungkook nodded without hesitation.
"You?" he asked.
Taehyung just shrugged. 'Okay' wasn't a word he would have used but he didn't want to be too optimistic.
"What?" Jungkook asked as he scooted closer to the edge of his own bed.
"I'm sorry for how I acted," the older boy said, sounding ashamed.
"Don't be," Kookie said. "I was just..."
"I didn't know..."
"I know. But it's still okay. And...now that I know..."
"Will anything change?" Taehyung asked as he sat up.
"No," Jungkook said easily. "You've been my person for three years. Maybe...maybe the only thing that will change is now I am your person too."
Taehyung smiled at that and nodded as Kookies stomach filled with butterflies.
"We will only be each-others, call?" Jungkook asked.
"Only if you let me use you as a pillow," Taehyung said with a smirk.
"Call," Jungkook said with a laugh getting up and crawling onto his hyungs bed.
"Call," Taehyung said, laying down with his head in the others lap.
When It's Over
Our story ends, or begins, the day Kim Taehyung forgot Jeon Jungkook. 'How?' you may ask. That is yet to be determined.
Act one opens to a young boy with pretty blonde hair and striking blue eyes, tears streaming down his face as he begs a beautiful brown haired angel not to go.
"Did you kiss him?" the soft voice asks as the brown haired angel tries to keep all traces of hurt and betrayal from his tone.
"Jungkookah..." the blonde haired boy breathes, his voice calming and deep.
"Did you?" the brown haired angel we now know as Jungkook asks as he wheels around, eyes angry as tears stream silver down his face.
"I didn't..."
"Don't lie."
"It was...we were drinking and..."
"Did you screw him?" Jungkook asked, diverting his gaze as he braces for the truth.
"I'm sorry," the other says, hanging his head in shame.
"I'm done," Jungkook says, jerking his hand from the boys grasp. "I'm done with you. I'm done with Min Yoongi. I'm done with all of this!"
"Jungkookah!" the boy exclaims.
"Don't!" he growls. "Do not sit there and talk to me like we are close. I don't even know you any more Taehyung. Maybe I didn't know you at all..."
"What about the others?" Taehyung asks.
"What about them?" Jungkook returns.
"You can't leave," Taehyung says softly.
"I'm not leaving," Jungkook replies. "But you are never to speak to me again. Ever."
"Jungkookah..."
"My name is Jeon Jungkook," the boy says harshly. "You will address me as Jungkook-ssi and I shall address you with the same formality Taehyung-ssi. We are not so close as to speak to one another otherwise."
"It was an accident!" Taehyung exclaims in horror at what is happening, the lie slipping so easily from his lips..
"And that’s supposed to what?” Jungkook asks, drowning in the sea of emotions he has fallen in to. “Make it…okay?” He can’t believe he even asked that question.
"What must I do to make you forgive me?" Taehyung asks, holding on to every hope he had that he could fix this.
"Forget about me," Jungkook says. "And I will do the same for you."
"Jungkookah..."
"Goodbye Kim Taehyung-ssi..."
At first the group thinks the two have had a lovers quarrel that will resolve itself in a few days, and right now they are more worried about Min Yoongi and the fall-out he has had with his parents. Mr. Min called his son just three days prior telling him he has had long enough to prance around in his dream but that now it was time to come home and settle down, join the family business and make an honest living with his life. The Min’s noodle shop was about to go bankrupt and Yoongi didn’t have the money to keep his parents shop afloat. Dangerously teetering on the edge of acquiescence, Yoongi has locked himself in his studio and drank himself into a stupor, only letting Taehyung in when the boy insisted he wasn't leaving til his hyung came out. Neither of them spoke about what had happened that night and as Namjoon sat and thought about everything he realized that was the night that the maknae line had had a falling out as well.
"Jin hyung," he says softly. "What...do you think happened at the studio?"
The eldest member of BTS turns around to look at his leader, his head tilted in confusion.
"Kookie and Taehyung...I think...they really aren't together. Jungkookie won't speak to Taehyung at all."
"Taetae wouldn't do that to Jungkookie," Seokjin says confidently. "They really care for each other."
"Yoongi hyung was drinking..." Namjoon starts.
"He would not take advantage of his dongsaeng," Jin insists.
Namjoon just looks at his brother and nods his head, still unsure of the uneasy feeling he has.
A few days later Namjoon is doing weekly phone checks and notices all of the selfies Jungkook had of himself and Taehyung have been deleted from his phone, as well as all of the messages, and that he has changed his lovers name from 'Squishy Tae' to 'Kim Taehyung-ssi'. All calls from his boyfriend are being immediately redirected to Jungkooks voicemail, and all messaging capabilities between the two numbers have been disabled.
Frowning Namjoon checks Taehyungs phone next.
The selfies of the two are still there, but message after message is Taehyung apologizing to their maknae and begging for forgiveness for something that had happened. Knowing it was overstepping his boundaries, but having no idea how to help his brothers, Namjoon digs a bit farther than he knows he should.
Namjoon shakes his head as the picture starts to form there, locking Taehyungs phone back and picking up Yoongis, slightly terrified of what he might find.
"I deleted all the messages, Namjoonah," Yoongi says as he leans against the door frame of his leaders studio. "It was a stupid mistake. I was drunk that night and...I wish it had never happened. It shouldn't have happened."
"You're right," Namjoon says. "And now our Jungkookie is suffering, and the guilt is eating Taehyungie alive.'
“I know,” Yoongi says, his tone carefully blank. "I can't..."
“Neither of them deserve this, hyung,” Namjoon says softly.
"I know,” Yoongi says, now feeling some small amount of remorse.
Yoongi sits on the balcony of their dorm, a cigarette burning between his fingers as his mind replays everything that has happened. He tries to think on if he regrets any of it and honestly, the answer is mostly no. Obviously he never meant to hurt Kookie but…he was not as drunk as everyone thinks he was, and Taehyung had been completely sober.
Thinking back to that night, Yoongi is determined to figure out exactly where everything went wrong.
Perhaps it started with the kiss...
"Hyung," Taehyung had said into the intercom. "Please let me in, hyung. I promise it's just me. Just Taetae. Hyuuuuuuuuunnnnnngggggg!!!!"
"Go *hic* go away," Yoongi had drawled from his desk where he was currently slumped over wallowing in his own self pity and cheap alcohol.
"I won't," Taehyung said, his voice bright. "I will stay right here until you come out."
"Please go away," Yoongi groaned, a headache already starting.
"At least let me see you are okay hyung," Taehyung said, frowning into the camera.
"I hate you," Yoongi said as he pushed the button, letting his dongsaeng in.
Taehyung's soft laugh carried through the room as he slipped into his hyungs studio, making sure to pull the door shut behind him before walking up to Yoongi and hugging him from behind.
"What happened, hyung?" Taehyung asked softly, genuine concern in his voice.
"My parents *hic* My parents disowned…me.” Yoongi said, trying to push the pain that statement caused away.
"What?" Taehyung asked, confused.
"They told me to chose,” Yoongi said. "This family or *hic* that one. So I did…"
"I'm sorry, hyung," Taehyung had said sincerely before cheekily telling Yoongi that he loved him.
"Why?" Yoongi asked, turning his head to look at his dongsaeng. "Why do you love me."
Taehyung had pulled back in surprise at the question as he thought of an answer.
"I love you because you are a hyung who treats me well," he said. "And because you take care of your hyungjaes without expecting anything in return. You are a hyung I look up to a lot, Yoongi hyung."
Yoongi had snorted at the generic answer even though he could sense Taehyungs sincerity.
"I promise I'm okay Tae-ah," Yoongi said softly. "Go back home. Kookie is waiting for you I am sure."
Taehyung had looked at his hands and nodded, temporarily lost in thought.
"Hyung?" Taehyung asked softly.
"Taeah?" Yoongi prompted.
"How..." Taehyung chewed his lip as he thought about exactly what he wanted to say. "How…"
"Taehyung-ssi," Yoongi prompted, knowing something was bothering the younger man.
"What... How do you know…when someone is ‘the one’?” Taehyung asked, blushing slightly at the question.
"What is this about?" Yoongi asked, reading past the question.
"Why...does Kookie-ah like me so much?" the boy asked instead.
"What do you mean?" Yoongi asked.
"What..." Taehyung chewed his lip. "What if...there is someone else..."
"Someone else?" Yoongi asked, sitting up and giving the man his undivided attention.
"Jungkookah..." Taehyung furrowed his brow. "He's never..."
"He's still young," Yoongi said.
"What if..."
"He loves you, Taehyungah," Yoongi said firmly.
"He doesn't know anything else," Taehyung said. "What if...he finds someone...one day..."
"People break up, Taehyungah," Yoongi said. "It happens to the best of us," he tried to joke, giving his dongsaeng a cheeky smile.
"What if I don't love him?" Taehyung asked, looking his hyung right in the eye.
The question caused Yoongi to sober up just a bit as he sat up more, motioning Taehyung to come closer.
"Who do you love?" he asked. "What is causing you to have these thoughts?"
Taehyung just shrugged.
"Tae-ah," Yoongi scolded.
"I've..." Taehyung chewed his lip. "I've never been with anyone else either..." he finally said.
"So are you unsure about Kookie, or are you unsure about yourself?" Yoongi asked wisely.
"Both," Taehyung admitted.
"That isn't fair to either one of you," Yoongi pointed out. "How do you intend to resolve it?"
Taehyung shrugged and scuffed his foot on the floor.
"I love him," he said.
"Is it that you love him, have love for him, or are in love with him?" Yoongi asked.
Taehyung was silent for a moment as he thought.
"How do I tell the difference?" he finally asked.
"Loving someone means that you respect their decisions and support them no matter your relationship with them. Having love for someone means that you want them to do well but you have no romantic interest in them. I have all the love in the world for Nam dongsaeng," he said, referring to their leader, " but I am not in love with him. Being in love with someone means you want to be their beginning and their end from now until forever. It means that you would do anything, or be anyone, just to see them happy," Yoongi said.
Taehyung nodded at that logic as he let it process.
"What if I can't tell the difference between 'love for' and 'in love'?"
Yoongi sighed and raked his hands down his face as he stood and pulled the younger boy to him.
"Either this bothers you, or it doesn't," he said, pulling Taehyung to him and crushing his lips in a dominate kiss, nipping the younger boys bottom lip before pulling back.
At first Taehyung was shocked, his whole body tense. He had never kissed anyone except for Kookie, and certainly never this way, but as his brain kicked back in, he thought maybe he liked it.
Touching his lips he slowly looked up at his hyung, his eyes wide in shock.
"Hy..."
"Either you like it or you don't," Yoongi said, completely un-phased by the kiss he had just given.
"Can...kiss me again?" Taehyung asked shyly.
Yoongi smirked and pushed the boy down on the couch, climbing on top of him and straddling his hips before bracing himself against the wall behind them and leaning in to kiss the boy passionately, a slow fire emanating from his lips and burning Taehyung.
Before he could think, Taehyung had his hands tangled in Yoongis shirt, holding him there as he arched up into the kiss, gasping at the heat he felt. Yoongi smirked into the kiss, using the chance to run his tongue along the younger mans lips, seeking silent permission to further the kiss, which he was automatically granted. Yoongi took his time exploring Taehyungs mouth, his hands moving to tangle in his hair, pulling slightly as his body ground down against the boy beneath him, purposely trying to elicit a response and smirking when Taehyung let out a low moan.
“Either you love him, or you don’t,” Yoongi said as he pulled back, a serious look now on his face.
“Hyung,” Taehyung said, his pupils blown wide, and Yoongi understood every unspoken word in that statement.
Leaning back in Yoongi grabbed Tae’s hair again, pulling his head to the side as he attacked the pulse point on Taehyungs neck, careful not to leave a lasting mark, but sucking hard enough to elicit a guttural moan from the boy and smirking as he kissed his way down, biting Taehyungs collarbone before kissing his way back up the mans neck to claim his mouth in another kiss as his fingertips trailed down the younger boys front to rest on the waistband of his pants, silently teasing him.
“Hy…hyung…” Tae breathed, his hands coming to rest on Yoongi’s hips, trying to grind up to show the man the effect that he was having on him. He had honestly never been more turned on in all his life.
“Yes, Tae-ah,” Yoongi asked, his breath ghosting across the boys neck, causing him to shudder.
“Please,” he begged.
“Please…what?” he asked as he attacked Taehyungs neck once more.
All Taehyung could do was moan, causing Yoongi to laugh as he pulled back, his fingers tangling in the hem of the boys shirt.
“Tell me what you want,” he asked, looking Taehyung directly in the eye.
“I want you,” Taehyung said, no hint of a regret in his response.
Yoongi nodded at that, his face set as he pulled Taehyungs shirt up and over his head, leaning back in to claim the boys lips in a kiss as he sat up on his knees, his hands undoing Taehyungs belt and pants button before pausing for a moment.
“One last chance to leave,” he said, almost growled, to the boy.
“Hyung…”
“You have on too many clothes,” Yoongi whispered, for once thankful that his studio was completely soundproof.
Taehyung bit his lips as he undid the button on his pants, lifting up into the other boy as he shimmied the fabric off of his hips, kicking them off and relaxing back on to the couch, now only clad in his tented boxer briefs, causing Yoongi to smirk.
“So lovely,” Yoongi said, sounding like a predator. The low and dangerous tone sent a shiver down Taehyungs spine as Yoongi stood up off of the couch, instead kneeling in front of him on the floor, the smirk still on his face as he trailed his palms up Taehyungs thighs, spreading his legs slowly as he licked his lips, his eyes going to the bulge in the younger mans boxers.
Taehyung licked his lips at the sight of his hyung between his legs. Jungkook was always very soft and shy which lead to Taehyung taking control most of the time and they had certainly never gotten father than a quick hand job in the shower.
“Does this turn you on?” Yoongi asked, his hand moving to rest over the bulge as he gently squeezed, causing Taes head to fall back against the couch as his eyes closed in pleasure.
“Yes.” he answered breathlessly as he felt Yoongi apply more pressure to the area while trailing kisses along his inner thigh pausing here and there to suck or occasionally bite, a warm tongue shooting out to soothe the areas before continuing upwards.
Taehyung was now painfully hard, his cock leaking beads of precum in anticipation of what his hyung was about to do.
Suddenly Yoongi stopped his ministrations to stand, looking down at Taehyung as he undid his own belt.
“Touch yourself, Tae-ah,” Yoongi growled. “Show hyung how you like it done.”
Taehyung would never admit how turned on he had been in that moment. Yoongi’s dominate attitude had Taehyung ready to cum even before anything had happened.
Slowly reaching down Taehyung removed his boxer briefs and haltingly wrapped his hand around his erect cock, leaving it there for a moment as he watched Yoongi remove his own clothes which caused Taehyung to start slowly pumping his shaft.
Hyung,” he moaned. “I…I can’t. I’m gonna…”
Yoongi dropped to his knees once more, grabbing Taehyungs hand, a fierce look in his eyes.
“Not until I say you can,” he said, his voice low, sending another shudder through Taehyung.
“Hyu…hyung,” he breathed, his eyes pleading.
“No, Taehyungah. Control yourself,” Yoongi said, removing Taehyungs hand and replacing it with his own as he slowly started stroking Taehyungs long shaft in a teasing manner as his other hand firmly held the younger mans hip.
“P…pl…ugnnnnnnn….”
Yoongi laughed softly as he leaned in and slowly took Taehyungs cock in his mouth, swirling his tongue around the head before licking up the underside of his shaft, careful to keep one hand firmly at the base of Taehyungs member to keep him from cumming. He was going to make this good.
“Yoo…”
Taehyung was incoherent with pleasure. He was going to die at any moment and had no idea how he would explain said sudden death.
“Puu…don…ahh…t…te..ee…mmmmmmmm,” Taehyung tried to say, moaning when he felt Yoongi envelope him in the warmth of his mouth, sucking and licking before taking his entire length in, bobbing up and down at a moderate pace.
The pressure in Taehyungs abdomen was almost painful now and he felt as though he would never recover.
“Hyung…” he breathed.
Yoongi smirked at the reactions coming from the young man and, knowing what he needed, released his hold on the base of Taehyungs dick, causing the boy to cum instantly. Swallowing everything that Taehyung had, Yoongi licked his lips as he rocked back, standing to claim the boys lips in a harsh kiss, biting his lower lip and exploring his mouth, allowing the boy to taste himself as he ground down against him, his own erection rubbing against Taehyungs quickly growing one.
Taehyung moaned into the kiss, unsure how to feel about being turned on at tasting himself in his hyungs mouth. Reaching out to touch the man he was surprised when his hand was smacked away.
“This is about you,” Yoongi hissed in his ear before biting the mans neck and pushing him to lay flat on the couch, straddling him once again.
“Hyung,” Taehyung breathed.
“Either you love him or you don’t,” Yoongi said, his way of telling Taehyung he could tell him to stop and he would.
“I…” Taehyung was slightly embarrassed at the thought that went through his head. “I’ve never…”
“Then tell me to stop,” Yoongi commanded.
“Please don’t,” Taehyung begged. “I need…” he said, almost in tears.
“It hurts,” Yoongi said, his tone a bit more gentle than it had been before.
“I trust you,” Taehyung said.
With a simple nod Yoongi grabbed something from behind him before leaning in and kissing Taehyung softly, using his mouth to distract the boy from what was about to happen. As he kissed and licked his way down the younger boys torso he smeared lube from the jar he had grabbed onto his fingers, tracing Taehyungs rim, pausing when the boy tensed slightly and only continuing when the boy nodded.
“I’m sorry Taehyungah,” Yoongi said, claiming the boys mouth in a rough kiss once again as he gently slid one finger into the boys hole, letting it sit knuckle deep as Taehyung adjusted to the feeling.
Taehyung gasped at the pain, his whole body tensing before relaxing, his eyes staring right into his hyungs as he tried to remember how to breathe.
“You okay?” Yoongi asked, genuine concern in his eyes.
Taehyung could only nod and signal for the man to continue.
Yoongi took things slow, working his finger in and out of Taehyungs opening, kissing and petting him with his other hand before biting on his collarbone as he added a second finger, slowly stretching Taehyung.
Taehyung however, was on fire of another kind. Through the pain there was a newfound level of pleasure that he had not realized he was missing. Everything was amazing and new and as he felt his hyung work his fingers in and out it was everything he could do not to grind against them.
“Do you like that Tae-ah,” Yoongi asked, a smirk in his tone.
“Oh my gawd,” Taehyung breathed, his eyes rolling back in his head as Yoogi hit his prostate, causing him to almost cum right there.
“Do you want more?” Yoongi asked as he started scissoring his fingers.
“Gnnnnnn…pl…I need…you…”
Taehyung was a puddle of goo. His brain was fried, and his body was on fire, and he didn’t even have the ability to form words.
Yoongi added a third finger, careful not to hit Taehyungs sweet spot, and working him until he thought he was sufficiently prepared.
“Do you still want me?” he asked as he removed his fingers, watching Taehyungs sweet little hole clench around nothing.
“Yessss….” Taehyung hissed.
Yoongi smirked at that as he slid on a condom, taking Tae and flipping him over, propping him up on his knees before slamming into the boy all the way to the hilt, stilling so that his lover for the night could get used to the feel.
“Fuuuucccccc…” Tae hissed as his mind was overloaded with pleasure and pain.
“Do you like that Tae-ah?” Yoongi asked in his ear, pulling out just a bit before slamming back in.
“Yeee….. Fuck. Fuck me. Hyung, please.”
Yoongi himself was trying to accommodate himself to the feel. Taehyung was so tight that he felt himself on the edge of orgasm when he hadn’t even started.
“Fuck,” Yoongi growled. “You’re so damn tight. It feels amazing.”
Taehyung closed his eyes as he concentrated on the feeling of being full. It was amazing.
“Hyung…” Taehyung moaned right as Yoongi pulled almost all the way out before slamming back in to Taehyungs virgin hole, causing the man to make an obscene noise.
Yoongi had never been a gentle lover and he had no intentions of being one now.
Taehyung let out a muffled cry with every harsh thrust into him, Yoongi just barely brushing against his prostate.
“Hyung pleeeease..” Taehyung moaned out as he tried to angle his hips for the right position.
“Please, what?” Yoongi asked, grabbing Taehyung by the hair and pulling his head back to bite his neck, enjoying the little noises his dongsaeng was making.
Taehyung began to squirm and rock himself back and forth but Yoongi kept a bruising grip on his hips to stop him.
“Please…” Taehyung begged, almost in tears once again.
“Please, hyung,” Yoongi said, his tone teasing as he started to move slowly, barely thrusting his hips.
“Please,” Taehyung begged. “I need to….ughnnnnnn…I need…”
Tae didn’t even have the chance to finish his sentence before Yoongi was pounding in to him at an impossible speed, hitting his prostate with every thrust. The room was filled with the sound of skin hitting skin and Taehyungs incoherent babbling as Yoongi reached around, wrapping his hand around Taehyungs cock, his strokes matching his thrusts.
Taehyung could feel the tension building up within him with every movement.
“Taehyungah,” Yoongi said, his voice sickly sweet. “Cum for hyung. Now.”
Taehyung let out a long, low moan as the coil inside him snapped and he came all over Yoongi’s hand and the couch below.
Yoongi felt Taehyung’s ass clench around his cock as the boys orgasm wrecked him, and bit down harshly on the back of Taehyungs neck as his own orgasm slammed into him like lightning up his spine.
“Fuck,” Yoongi breathed as he closed his eyes, stars bursting in his vision.
Sliding out of Taehyung Yoongi collapsed onto the couch as he smacked the boys ass, watching his cum leak out of the puckered hole as it spasmed from the absence of Yoongis cock.
Taehyung stayed on his knees for several moments as he tried to remember which way was up before finally collapsing onto the couch, catching his breath from the ride of his life.
Three days later Taehyung was walking into their dorm when he noticed Jungkook in the kitchen. The two of them had not spoken in almost two weeks and it was slowly killing the boy.
"Jungkookah," Taehyung said, his voice low.
Jungkook ignored him.
"Jungkookah," the boy tried again, still without response.
“Jeon Jungkook!” Taehyung shouted. “Acknowledge your hyung!”
Jungkook slowly turned and looked at Taehyung like he was an alien.
“I don’t see a hyung here, Kim Taehyung,” he ground out.
As much as Taehyungs heart broke so did his temper and before Jungkook could react Taehyung had him pinned against the wall by his throat, Taehyungs knee forcing its way between Jungkooks legs.
“You will show me respect,” Taehyung growled, trying not to lose himself in the wide brown eyes that looked at him in fear.
“Tae…” the boy managed to get out.
“Don’t speak,” Taehyung said.
If his former lover didn’t want to speak to him, he didn’t have to, but he would hear Taehyung out.
“I’m sorry, Kookieah,” Taehyung said softly, relaxing his grip on the boys throat so as not to choke him. “I’m sorry that I doubted myself and hurt you so. I’m sorry that I thought I wasn’t good enough for you. I’m sorry that I pushed you away.”
“Let me go,” Kookie breathed, sounding close to tears.
“I cannot,” Taehyung said. “Please forgive me. I love you, Jeon Jungkook. I can't ever let you go.”
Leaning in slowly Taehyung claimed Jungkooks lips in a slow burning kiss, only stepping away when he acknowledged the sharp sting of the slap the other had landed on his cheek, Jungkook pushing him away and running to his room, slamming the door and locking it behind him.
Taehyung punched the wall and cursed.
~oooOooo~
That night when the others went out to the studio for some practice Taehyung faked ill and stayed home alone to wallow in his own self-pity. He almost jumped out of his skin when his door opened and the man who held his heart sheepishly stepped in.
“Hyung,” Jungkook said softly, looking at the floor. “I’m sorry, hyung. I should not have struck you.”
Taehyung sat up slowly, wondering if all of this was a dream.
“Don’t,” he said softly. “I shouldn’t have kissed you like that…”
“Did you want to?” Jungkook asked, looking up at the boy.
“More than ever,” Taehyung said as his heart clenched painfully.
“Yoongi hyung?’ Kookie asked, tears in his eyes.
“I wish it had never happened but…I learned a lot about myself and…”
“Do you love me?” Kookie asked, insecurity coloring his tone.
“Do you want me to?” Taehyung asked as he held his breath.
After a moment of silence Kookie looked at the boy before him, the only person he had ever loved like that, and slowly shook his head, looking at the floor as tears streamed down his face.
Min Yoongi had finally won. Kim Taehyung would never belong to Jeon Jungkook again.

Chapter Text
“Nothing Like Us"
Lately I've been thinkin', Thinkin' 'bout what we had. I know it was hard, It was all that we knew…
“Taehyung-ah…”
“It’s Jungkookie…”
“I know you’re in there.”
“Please come out?”
“Sarangheyo…chagiyah…”
Have you been drinkin', To take all the pain away? I wish that I could give you what you deserve…
Taehyung could hear his friend outside his bedroom door, but no matter how much…how hard…Jungkook begged, Taehyung didn’t have the gumption to let him in. To risk Jeon Jungkook rubbing it in Kim Taehyungs face that the man he had left Kookie for…had left him for someone else.
It wasn’t a betrayal Taehyung thought he could weather.
It was exactly the kind of betrayal he deserved.
‘An eye for an eye’.
Taehyung took one look at the empty soju bottle in his hand, feeling betrayed once more, and flung it across the room, satisfaction filling his empty soul at the sound of the bottle breaking just like his shattered heart.
'Cause nothing can ever, Ever replace you. Nothing can make me feel like you do. You know there's no one, I can relate to, And know we won't find a love that's so true…
“I miss you,” Kookie said, his fingers carding through Taehyung’s hair as they laid in the silence of Jungkook’s room, trying with all they had to block out the sounds of sex coming from the room next door.
“No you don’t,” Taehyung whispered, closing his eyes as he tried to match his heart with the one beating in his ear, never once realizing they had always beat in tune.
“I miss the way you made me feel,” Kookie said, the kiss he placed on Taehyungs temple as natural to him as breathing air.
“Used?” Taehyung asked, sounding ashamed.
“Loved…” Jungkook answered in return.
There's nothing like us. There's nothing like you and me, Together through the storm. There's nothing like us. There's nothing like you and me…Together.
“Tell me you love me,” Jungkook begged, tears streaming down his face as he stood on the rooftop, ready to end all his pain.
“Always,” Taehyung breathed, his hand automatically extending to pull the boy before him back in.
“Forever?’ Jungkook asked, his eyes closing against the pain.
“Until I die,” Taehyung said. “Even after then. I’ll love you until the world no longer remembers who you are.”
“Who am I?’ Jungkook asked, his eyes boring in to Taehyungs soul.
“My everything,” Taehyung whispered, his answer almost lost to the wind. “My…my entire world.”
“Did you really ever love me?” Jungkook asked, sounding lost.
“I love you present tense.”
“Just like that?” Jungkook asked, sounding unsure.
“Just like that,” Taehyung said, grabbing hold of Jungkooks hand and pulling him close.
“I’ll love you til I die and I’ll love you even then. I’ll love you in the next lifetime we have and…I will love you until…no…I will love you even when we get no more infinities together. I will be a part of your galaxy until it is no more.”
“Why doesn’t he love me?” Jungkook sobbed, falling to his knees in Taehyungs arms.
“Because you were never made for him,” Taehyung said, holding Jungkook as tight as he could.
“Who was I made for then?”
“Me…”
I gave you everything, baby, Well, everything I had to give. Boy, why would you push me away? Lost in confusion, Like an illusion, You know I'm used to making your day.
“Why did you push me away that day?” Jungkook asked, some time days later when they were back in his rooms, trying to drowned out the sounds of next door.
“Because I thought you were just settling for me,” Taehyung said. “I thought…that you deserved better… than me…you still do.”
“There isn’t anything better than you…”
“Jiminie,” Taehyung said softly.
“Jimin-hyung doesn’t love me like you do tho,” Jungkook answered. “He has love for me but…he isn’t in love with me. He never has been.”
But that is the past now. We didn't last now. I guess that this is meant to be. Tell me, was it worth it?
We were so perfect. But, baby, I just want you to see…
Taehyung no longer cared if this thing he shared was right or wrong, real or just a dream. Jeon Jungkook was standing here in the doorway of the room they had once shared asking Taehyung to love him, and love him is exactly what Taehyung was going to do. Jumping out of his bed and crossing the room Taehyung pulled the younger boy into his arms, telling him a thousand times over that he loved him before pulling back and taking Jungkook by the jaw, lifting his face to look into his eyes.
“I love you, Jungkookah. Until my dying breath I will love you. I will love you when eternity comes, and I will pray I get to spend my next life with you by my side just so the universe knows how much Kim Taehyung loves Jeon Jungkook."
“What about…” Jungkook tried.
“They have eachother now,” Taehyung said, his tone firm, yet understanding.
Kookie bit his lip, trying to draw the courage to say what he wanted to say.
“Show me…” he whispered. “That…”
Taehyung didn’t even have to ask what he meant.
“Are you…are you sure?” he asked, looking at Kookie in concern. “We don’t…I don’t love you because of that…”
“Please?” Kookie asked as the tears continued to fall.
“Chagiyah,” Taehyung breathed as he wiped the tears from Jungkooks face. “Saranghae, Kookieah.”
Leaning in slowly, Taehyung kissed Jungkook with a burning passion, putting all of his words in to that one kiss so that Jungkook would never again question Taehyungs love for him.
“Taehyung.” Jungkook whispered against his lovers lips. “Yoongi hyung told me everything…about… about that day… I’m sorry. I should…I shouldn’t have…”
“He…what?” Taehyung asked, pulling back in shock that Min Yoongi had shared the secret of what had happened all those years ago.
“I should have let you explain,” Jungkook said, sounding ashamed. “But…I’ll never want anyone else so…don’t worry about me. I’m happy where I am.”
“I’m sorry Kookieah,” Taehyung said, regret heavy in his tone.
Jungkook just shook his head, his hands wrapping around Taehyungs neck as he pulled the older boy in for another kiss.
Picking Jungkook up and wrapping his legs around him, Taehyung closed and locked the door before carrying his forever over to the bed they would forever share, laying him down, and loving him as he deserved.
There's nothing like us. There's nothing like you and me, Together through the storm. There's nothing like us. There's nothing like you and me…Together
Chapter 11: Missing
Summary:
A tale of what might have happened had Kim Taehyung died so that his brothers would live.
Notes:
This bit is inspired by twitter user @intj_klmnop who actually wrote a prompt of this and sent it to me, which I in turn begged to be allowed to use for our story. I think what she imaged was so beautifully written and I hope that I have been able to do it justice as it is adapted for this world. I must also thank her for listening to my incessant rambling and for brainstorming with me and giving me such evil, angst-y ideas these past many days.

Chapter Text
As Taehyung looked around their abandoned surroundings he started to wonder how his life had come to this; how any of their lives had come to this. Less than one year ago they were quickly soaring to the top of the world. Now, they were fighting just to stay in it.
Jimin was unconscious from whatever Mathan had used to knock him out. Jungkook, Seokjin, and Namjoon had left to try and find help, and Mathan was still outside on what Taehyung assumed was his ‘com’. Hoseok had finally drifted off to a land where Taehyung hoped their nightmares would leave him alone, and for the moment, Yoongi was still alive.
Now that he was left to fend for himself and watch over his brothers, Taehyung sensed that a new danger was near. When he saw the glint of the blade in their attacker’s hand, Taehyung knew he had to act. He loved his brothers with all that remained of his shattered soul and he’d be damned if he let a single one of them be hurt worse than they already had been, regardless of how they felt about him anymore.
The hope of forgiveness…the need to protect…the overwhelming anger and desire to rip this monster limb from limb set Taehyung into motion as the attacker threw himself forward, ready to strike.
Taehyung knew that Carl had come to finish the job, and he was obviously looking for retaliation for having his plans thwarted. Moving carefully, but quickly from underneath Yoongi, Taehyung shot forward, blocking the injured man’s path to his hyung. With a scream of rage Carl lunged forward and before he knew what had happened, Taehyung inhaled a sharp breath of white-hot agony as the blade of the knife sunk home, buried to the hilt in Taehyungs sternum.
~oooOooo~
He had felt the pain of death long before the impact of Carl’s knife came. He felt it in the carnal scream of rage that Carl let lose as he crossed the room to exact his revenge. He felt it in the violent jerk of his body as he slammed into the man to stop him in his tracks. He felt it in his soul as Carl whispered something Taehyung could not hear before driving his weapon home.
In those precious few minutes his life flashed before his eyes as he realized he was powerless to stop these events from happening. He had been powerless to keep the seven of them alive since the moment he began to try.
Did he really think his members would do such a thing for him? Lay down their life without a second thought or regret? Would it even matter that he had done just that for them?
Had he told his members he loved them before they had departed to look for help?
Told Jimin he was already forgiven for the choices he had made to try and keep everyone else alive?
Did Yoongi know that Taehyung would love him until the end of all time? That he would wait for him until their new lives could begin?
Could Namjoon see that he was still the very best leader and hyung Tae had ever known?
Did Mathan understand how eternally grateful Taehyung was for all that he had done to help his brothers?
Had Hoseok realized just how much his last words to Tae had meant to him? It was absolutely the only apology he had needed to ease his conflicted mind.
And Jungkookie…his sweet, sweet Jungkookie. He prayed with everything in him that Jeon Jungkook would be able to find happiness once he was away from this hell. He hoped with everything in him that Jimin would keep him safe and warm until the end of time.
Taehyungs only regret in this life was that he would never know the answers to the questions he had asked. Without a second thought he had placed himself on the sacrificial pyre to ensure that his brothers and his lover would live.
Notes:
In this spin-off realm this story is dedicated to @intj_klmnop because originally she intended for Kim Taehyung to die, but then we realized together that would not have actually worked.
Chapter 12: Remember When
Summary:
KaeTae is ALL @intj_klmnop's fault. She MADE me do this. (And it H U R T S ! ! !)
Chapter Text
Remember when, I was young and so were you, And time stood still and love was all we knew. You were the first, so was I, We made love and then you cried, Remember when…
“We don’t have to do this,” Kaelyn said, holding Taehyungs hands as they stood in the alleyway by BigHits studios. “You don’t…you don’t have to do this…”
“I do,” Taehyung said softly, trying to see the girl through the rain that was threatening to wash the both of them away.
“You can’t just leave them like this, Taehyung-ah. They…your brothers need you…”
“Bangtan Sonyeondan is over,” Taehyung said softly, the verbal acknowledgement hurting his heart.
“You can still go on as six,” Kaelyn tried, desperate to keep the pieces of her family whole. “Yoongi-ssi…”
“I can’t trust them anymore…”
“They didn’t…”
“I know…”
Remember when, We vowed the vows and walked the walk, Gave our hearts, made the start, and it was hard. We lived and learned life threw curves, There was joy, there was hurt, Remember when…
“Namjoon-ssi called today,” Kaelyn said as she walked into Taehyungs studio. “He…he wants you to come home…”
“I am home,” Taehyung said, turning around and giving his wife a smile.
“Jungkookie…”
“Kaelyn…” Taehyung breathed, his heart giving another painful jolt. “I can’t…”
“He needs you,” Kaelyn said softly. “I’ll be fine here alone for a couple of days.”
“Kae…”
Kaelyn just shakes her head and gives her husband a smile and tries to remember when it came to this. It hadn’t really been all that long ago.
“You loved him first,” Kaelyn said. “You love him still. Who am I to stand in your way?”
“Chagiyah…”
“Go,” Kaelyn urges. “Say your goodbyes and…lay your brother to rest and…I will be here waiting for you when you come home…”
Remember when, Old ones died and new were born, And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged. We came together, fell apart, And broke each other’s hearts, Remember when…
“I can’t do this anymore!” Taehyung says, his heart in pieces as he looks from the family he once knew to the one he had now. “I can’t keep being forced to choose between my future and my past. One of you has to let me go…”
~oooOooo~
“I’m pregnant,” Kaelyn says, tears falling from her eyes as she hides her face in shame, yet another shackle she has added to Taehyungs chains.
She knew he never meant to love her that way, that the one time they had gone that far had been a drunken, hurting mistake of trying to heal in whatever way they could.
~oooOooo~
“I’m leaving,” Taehyung says, his face now hid in shame from the woman he had destroyed. “I don’t…I probably won’t come back again…”
~oooOooo~
“Areum is here,” Kaelyn wrote, debating for hours on if she should send the text or not. Taehyung didn’t need more chains, and the papers of divorce had arrived in her mail only that morning, the stress of it all throwing her in to labor. “She’s perfect…”
Remember when, The sound of little feet was the music. We danced to week to week, Brought back the love, we found trust, Vowed we'd never give it up, Remember when…
“Are you sure you want to do this again?” Kaelyn asks with a laugh, her stomach already swollen with the new life growing inside her.
“Isn’t it a little late for that, chagiyah?” Taehyung asks, a bright boxy smile on his face as he chases his daughter around her room.
“Appa! Story!” his daughter calls, her eyes shining as brightly as his, and in this moment Taehyung has never been more whole.
“Once upon a time…” Taehyung begins, the little girl in his arms already drifting off to sleep.
Remember when, Thirty seemed so old now lookin’ back, It’s just a steppin’ stone, To where we are, where we’ve been, Said we’d do it all again, Remember when…
“Jaewhan’s graduation is in an hour, Kim Taehyung,” Kaelyn says from the other side of her husbands studio door. “I expect you to be paint free and presentable at your sons special day!”
“I won’t miss it for the world!” Taehyung calls from inside, putting the finishing touches on the present he had painted for his son.
~oooOooo~
“Do you hear that?’ Kaelyn asks later that night when their youngest child has finally moved away, eager to start a life of his own.
“Silence?’ Taehyung asks, his head on his wifes shoulder as he soaks in her presence.
“Why didn’t we have more of them?” Kaelyn wonders out loud.
“Because we were thirty and old when Jaewhan was born,” Taehyung says with his same bright, boxy smile.
“If thirty was old, what are we now?” Kaelyn laughs.
“In our prime,” Taehyung says, giving his wife a gentle look.
“Regrets?” Kaelyn asks, the one thing she had always wondered finally a question she could ask.
“Not one…”
Remember when, We said when we turned gray, When the children grow up and move away, We won’t be sad, we’ll be glad, For all the life we’ve had, And we’ll remember when…
Kaelyn sat by her husbands bed, his hand in hers as he slowly faded away. Not once in all her years had she pictured a day without him in it. It turns out she had needed him more than anyone else would ever know.
“Smile,” Taehyung says, his eyes growing dim, and his voice going soft. “We’ve had a good life…”
Kaelyn can’t help but acknowledge that. Things had been rough in the beginning but they had seemed to make it work, and after fifty-odd years of marriage, Kaelyn Grey loved Kim Taehyung just as much as she had all those years ago standing in the pouring rain.
“Jaewhan will be here soon,” she says. “Areum…she said she would bring the twins…”
“Mmmm,” Taehyung says, nodding slowly as his body starts to give.
Eighty-nine was sixty something years longer than he thought he should have been given. He had be blessed so many times since then, he simply did not know if his heart could take any more joy.
“Lay down with me?” he says, patting the bed next to him gently.
“Chagiyah…”
“I don’t want to sleep alone,” Taehyung said. “I need someone to cuddle with…”
“Then I shall lay down with you and we shall fall asleep together…”
Remember when…
Chapter 13: ANONYMOUS
Chapter Text
ANONYMOUS: also i was wondering if you guys are taking suggestions or maybe small ideas something like that because i thought of something (basically another form of torture) that would hurt tae more than he alr is physically omg why do i always hurt the ones i love TT but yea i basically thought yall could use yoongi against him to hurt him more (even tho this is alr bad enough) maybe like probably sven finding out what yoongi did and is very unhappy w it and sort of gives yoongi a taste of his own medicine, either he have his way with him or making a bunch of other do it idk but making yoongi relive back the torments and torture he had gone through in the beginning, all the while thinking abt how he had done the same to tae and feeling this deep rooted guilt and self hatred thinking he deserves all this after what he's done. and tae has to just witness all this helplessly adding to his pain. so it'll b like the final destruction before this ends. omg
Kaelyngrey: While I do take (and LOVE) suggestions, unfortunately even in a spin-off this scenario wouldn’t work. The premise for this would have to be something incredibly violent and graphic, and in accordance with the Universe we have created, would serve no actual plot or character purpose. Yoongi is so far gone in his mental anguish and battle with his inner demons that violence such as this is not going to snap his out of what he did, and may even actually cause him to lash out on a grander scale. Right now Yoongi thinks it best to lose Taehyung and he will do whatever he deems necessary to push him away, even if it means hurting him, just so he can’t hurt him any worse than what he already has. Yoongi has a long battle ahead of him to come back into himself, but this just would not serve to further his character arc, and it also wouldn't add to Taehyung's. Sven is punishing his property for his misbehavior and Taehyung would make sure that his masters attention was focused solely on him and not on any of his brothers. I hope this reply answered some of your questions! I will still hold on to this idea to see if any pieces of it can be added into the main AU at a later date and time.
Chapter 14: Jiminbirch_1
Chapter Text
Jiminbirch_1: I really would like to know what would have happened if it didn’t snow the day sven tried to take Jimin to his one of his many homes. Like would Jimin have lost his innocence to Sven? Would sven have actually manage to sneak Bangtan to Russia? Would Carl come back with them and try for Jungkook? Would Jimin end up actually and completely broken by Sven and manage to be happy in the house and have a future with Sven? I just really want to see how far would they have gone or get in life if that snow storm wouldn’t have came. By the way love what u are doing with the book. Also wouldn’t mind seeing a intimate scene with Jimin and Sven but then again your the writer and I love this book!! I’ve read it about 10 times over and over again seriously!!
~oooOooo~
KaelynGrey: It has been a long time since this request was made! Over a year! I am SO sorry it has taken this long for me to get to it, but so much has happened :( Unfortunately at this time, with the new version of 'Kidnapped' that has been created, this particular 'spin-off' isn't possible to imagine because so much of it has already happened.
Jiminbirch_1: Hey Kaelyn! Hope you're doing well :) If it's okay, i have a spin-off request. I was thinking how damaged Kookie and Tae would get if, in the long run of their kidnapping, jimin were to die. (I'm sorry for being a devil) The cause of death could be anything from him succeeding to kill himself, to maybe being so broken his heart just stops beating. And how would that affect Sven? Again, i'm sorry if this request is too gruesome/too much. Have a nice day
~oooOooo~
KaelynGrey: This one also now seems impossible to write as it is a similar idea to where the alternate ending of 'Kidnapped' goes, only involving different characters. I apologize for that also.
ANONYMOUS: also i was wondering if you guys are taking suggestions or maybe small ideas something like that because i thought of something (basically another form of torture) that would hurt tae more than he alr is physically omg why do i always hurt the ones i love TT but yea i basically thought yall could use yoongi against him to hurt him more (even tho this is alr bad enough) maybe like probably sven finding out what yoongi did and is very unhappy w it and sort of gives yoongi a taste of his own medicine, either he have his way with him or making a bunch of other do it idk but making yoongi relive back the torments and torture he had gone through in the beginning, all the while thinking abt how he had done the same to tae and feeling this deep rooted guilt and self hatred thinking he deserves all this after what he's done. and tae has to just witness all this helplessly adding to his pain. so it'll b like the final destruction before this ends. omg
