Lucifer stood in his workshop, staring at the rubber duck he had just finished crafting. It was a perfect replica of Alastor, complete with a toothy grin and those creepy red eyes. Lucifer couldn't help but feel a sense of hesitancy wash over him as he examined the duck. (‘Why did I even make this monstrosity? What possessed me to create something so…’) He shuddered, unable to find the right words to describe his conflicting emotions.

Summary
Dating with an age gap can be difficult. Some date far too young, and complain when their partner acts immature. Some don’t realize their different goals for life until far too late. Some take it too far, spanning multi-generational gaps and, therefore, interests and ideology. Sometimes, everything works out: developed brains, similar priorities, healthy power balance, etc. That doesn’t mean that the difference in years can’t be startlingly apparent at times.

“They’re going crazy! They act like I picked you up from a high school. I thought it was bad when I was dating Pepper. They’re going like four times as hard about you.”
“Yes, well, you know I’m four years younger than her, right?”
The reminder gives him goosebumps. He turns his attention to the thirty-year-old, sitting curled up on the couch and barely paying attention. Instead, he’s mostly focused on a Stark tablet– one that is sure to have the doctor’s neurological cases lined up to peruse.
“Shut up. I forget about that.”
“Mmm,” he agrees, “Age does affect memory.”---
