Summary
Marc never understood it before. He could never quite get the concept of loving someone or something, and he was fine with it, because he didn't need to understand. He's an angel after all. There was never a need for emotions like that.
Until someone like Steven Grant comes and causes one angel, Jake Lockley, to fall from Heaven and straight into hell just to chase after the little minx of an incubus. He said he never regretted it, and the only regret Jake had was that he should've done it sooner.
But Steven's their enemy. An abomination like those demons. The very things that Heaven has fought against since the fall of Eden and the devil. Steven's no better than them, always looking for a victim to play around with until he gets bored. And the world would be all the better if they would just get rid of him. That's what Marc thinks.
Until Marc Spector sees him and finally understands the burning passion of wanting Steven so badly that he's desperate to damn himself and turn his back away from Heaven.
Perhaps Jake was right about one thing after all. Marc should've abandoned Heaven a lot sooner rather than later.
