“Haven’t touched ‘em since you went off to unpack.” Price said with a quirked brow.
Soap ran a hand down his face, groaning. “My sister just called. She sent the wrong batch of brownies.”
Gaz, who had been zoning out in front of the TV this entire time with his mouth slightly agape, finally turned to Soap as he blinked a few times. “Wh…what do you mean ‘wrong batch’?” The expression on his face seemed like he already had an idea on what Soap was about to say next.
Soap shifted uncomfortably, swallowing once before wincing. “The uh… the brownies had weed in ‘em, I fear.”

John had started his pace back to his room, expecting it how he left it. A mess for the lack of better words, most of his clothes where organised but his floor was mattered between ammo casing, food package, and cigarettes. He needed to relax after he’d finally debriefed his previous mission that had lead one to many bruises on him then he or really anyone in the 141 would have preferred.
So entering to his room to find it cleaned up in only a way that signature a certain man with a skull mask, was one thing that had been unexpected but to find said man on his back on johns lounge almost lazily staring at a wall with a plate sat on the floor directly next to him on the arm rest, small bits and crumbs with wasted on the ceramic the infamous mask thrown on the coffee table like it was just another ornament meant to decorate johns room. Fuckin Jesus.

Ghost had known that he'd gotten far too close to Soap for quite some time. He hadn't however, fully admitted to himself just how infatuated he'd been with him until he'd begun coughing up little white petals, evidence of Hanahaki disease growing in his lungs. Since the disease could only be brought on by unrequited feelings from the object of intense love, Ghost knew he couldn't lie to himself any longer.
Along with the revelation came another, far more unfortunate one-- Soap could never love a man like Simon Riley. Why would someone so pure ever want someone as tainted and ruined as Ghost? The answer was simple: he wouldn't.
The only question that remained, then, was why would Ghost ever bother telling Soap, when obviously, the endeavor would be pointless?

“You’re safe,” Ghost says. There is a gun in his pocket, and he wonders how many people have died from it. There is a knife wound in his side and he wonders if this will make up for all the blood on his hands that he never quite washed off.
Soap blinks. “We’re safe, Lt. The both of us.”
Ghost does not want to lie. He is old enough to stop pretending, even as it rips his own heart from his chest. Soap deserves better than the easy lies that leave his mouth; he deserves better than the shaky fragment of love that Ghost could try to give him.
The blood dripping down his side is searing in its honesty. This is it. He paid his last respects; did what he was meant to do. If only one of them can survive, he would rather it be Soap. Eventually, Soap will move on—maybe, if Ghost is lucky, he’ll keep a picture, a lasting memory of a Ghost that will stop haunting him after death. Soap will move on.
