Summary
A month after the Conclave, Vincent Benítez, now Pope Innocent XIV, gets stuck in an elevator. It's not the kind of event that should have the potential to derail his entire pontificate, but it has. When the demons from his past come bursting into the Apostolic Palace and shake up a lot of well-established routines and certainties, it falls to a very unlikely alliance of friends, both old and new, to mount the defence and drive them back out. In the process, Thomas Lawrence learns things about their new Pope that he would not have imagined in his wildest dreams, and he finally finds the courage to be more to him than just another faithful servant.

Summary
Vincent put his hands on Thomas’ like he had done in the Room of Tears, and spoke in almost a whisper. “I cannot do this without you, Thomas. This is not my place, these-” he gestured desperately at the air around him, hoping that Thomas would understand that he was referring to the Curia, “are not my people. I have faith in God’s plan for me, and if this is His will, I will carry this burden, but the inner-workings of the Vatican- the politics- I do not have the faintest idea of how to navigate.”
“I’ll stay.” Thomas said, “Not for the sake of the Church or the Curia. For you.”
Or: Thomas stays in the Vatican after the Conclave. Vincent learns how to be Pope. They navigate it all together.

Summary
Aldo's voice came from the kitchen.
Thomas analyzed the tone before looking up from his book. He didn't sound upset, which was a plus, but there was also no trace of joy or anything resembling it, which meant he wasn't exempt from some problem.

Summary

Summary
This isn’t his mind playing tricks on him. Not his age catching up. Not the early signs of dementia. He isn’t unraveling. He isn’t losing it. This— he didn’t know what this was. These notes. This letter. That damn file.
What is this?
And then it hit him.
Spread out before him wasn’t a collection of stray thoughts or forgotten paper trails.
It was evidence.

Summary
One night, Lawrence receives a phone call from Bellini. Someone (a crazy person with a lack of morals and honor both, Bellini insists) has published a pornographic story about him and Tedesco and provided him with a printed copy. The text is as filthy as it is accurate, peppered with details about the Conclave that few know.
This "thing", as they call it, is a work in progress, with updates promised every Tuesday and Friday. Chaos is guaranteed. So is love.—Or, in short: someone writes fanfic about them all.

Summary
“Vincent?”
Vincent’s eyes were twinkling with mirth. “Thomas Jacopo Lomeli Lawrence,” he begins, “might I have your attention?”
A little confused but definitely intrigued, Thomas clears his throat. “Yes?” He says, although it sounded more like a question. Careful, Vincent lets himself strum some of the nylon strings. “I wish…” Said the man, taking a steadying moment, “to serenade you. Please enjoy.”
OR: During a quick visit back to the Philippines to his mother’s home, Pope Innocent XIV, or well, Vincent lets Lawrence experience the joys of a Filipino piyesta, from handaan to perya. Vincent has one last surprise up his sleeve.

Summary
The silk is unlike anything she’s ever owned—rich as a sapphire, yet softer than water, flowing easily over her fingers when she lifts the hem. It has none of the stiff scratchiness of the lace bralettes she used to steal from her sister’s drawer as a teenager; instead, it seems to melt into her, as if it already knows the shape it’s meant to take.
Her skin is pale, almost milky white, against the deep sheen of the fabric, and Tommy trails a hand over the bodice-like top where it lies against her chest. Warm hands press into her back, startling her.
But it’s only Goffredo.

Summary
“You speak of me as though I were worth the trouble,” he’d said, a half-smile to soften the sting. “You should know better by now.”
She had stilled mid-motion, one hand resting on the rim of the platter, and looked at him in a way that made him suddenly aware of the weight behind his own words. Agnes never rushed to answer. When she did, it was with quiet certainty.
“You are wrong,” she said simply. “And I won’t have you speak of yourself like that.”
---OR---
Sister Agnes is tired of watching Thomas constantly degrade himself, so she decides to do something about that.

Summary
He pushes away from the door and reaches up to snatch his zucchetto away. Thomas balls the fabric tight in his fist, then tosses it aside with a huff.
The ache in his chest has returned in full force, and Thomas gasps for breath, pulling at the collar around his neck. He shrugs off his vestments with a sudden, almost frantic motion, and the layers, heavy with brocade and thread-of-gold, slide from his shoulders like a discarded skin. Chasuble, stole, alb—he pulls each one off with growing urgency, his breath catching in his throat, the collar still grazing his neck like a noose.
It’s too much.
Too hot.
The weight of it is unbearable
