It's a beautifully crafted piece of literature, and with complex characters whom the audience cannot help but want to explore. The Lord of the Rings teaches that while there is much darkness in the world, there is still good worth fighting for.
What happens when you fight for that good only to fail? What happens when all of your efforts to save lend themselves to destruction? What happens when a perfect world has been infected with anger and sorrow and imperfection?
Is it a crime to need saving?
