Summary
Avians are very particular in which individuals deserve high places in their hierarchy, those with admirable and respectable wings being near the top of it all. The better you can preen your feathers and the longer your wingspan, the more respect your peers give to you.
However, some are unfortunate enough to be born with the disability known as Avis Vitium Disorder, or AVD. Causing small, discoloured, patchy or immovable wings, this disorder curses those who have it to likely never gain their place in society.
And since getting his AVD diagnosis at fourteen, Tom Watson has been shunned by society and his own friends, and caused his family to be disgraced, due to their refusal to disown the bloodline's youngest son. Feeling distraught, Tommy starts off on a journey to his city's capital to argue with their king, after four years of misery, in hopes that the outcome will make life better for his family.
