Summary
Merlin isn't the first servant Arthur found a friend in. The daughter of one of his childhood nannies, Eira, has served as his maidservant her entire life. When Merlin is appointed as Arthur's permanent manservant, and the assignment goes well, Eira is reassigned - only no one asked for her to be reassigned.
Eira's life spirals out of control, the new knights start to take advantage of their station, Merlin decides he needs to protect her, and Arthur is determined to figure out what's happened to leave a bad taste in his mouth without knowing Eira's been reassigned. Featuring good!Uther (as good as Uther can get), protective!Morgana, and Arthur's morally ambiguous attempts to keep both his servants alive and safe with guest appearances by various Knights of the Round Table!
