Summary
Alan Wake wrote and wrote. He wrote until the skin from his fingers would peel off and his back would crack. Then he got something. A story. He remembered from his early days as a writer. Night Springs. That show he did scripts for. He plucked out small details. He poured every bit of memory he had of the show. Enthralled in the flurry of emotions and pained limbs, he put together something you'd call a total clusterfuck. It was all over the place, but he couldn't stop. His hands moved on his own. He just went on and wrote as much as he could. Until he'd forgotten. Until he was enveloped tightly inside this falsehood he brought upon himself.
Alan Wake wasn't the Alan Wake he knew. He was now a resident of.. Bright Springs? Night Fall? Something like that. He was a famous author still, but everything had been shuffled around. Now, Scratch, his evil doppelganger, was his brother. Thomas Zane, the poet or the filmmaker, was his cousin. Other people from Bright Falls were now assets in his story. There were new people he had never met before, but somehow wrote in.
And he didn't remember he was part of a story.
