Summary
When Jack left the New York City PD to join the Amity Island Police Department in 1972, she thought she was walking away from bureaucracy-ridden chaos. Instead, she found a home — the steady rhythm of the sea, family close by, and a chance to finally prove herself as worthy of following in her uncle’s footsteps as a police officer.
But the summer of ’74 shatters that peace. A string of shark attacks rattles the community before the pique of the summer season, and Jack is pulled into the center of the storm — torn between protecting her young cousins, supporting her uncle — Police Chief Martin Brody, and confronting the doubts of a town that still struggles to take her and her uncle seriously.
As Amity spirals between denial and desperation, Jack’s path collides with three men: her overburdened uncle, a hard-bitten fisherman, and a sharp-tongued oceanographer who challenges her as much as he understands her.
