“I don’t need anyone, weretiger. Least of all …” He raised his head to bark at him some more and very clearly realized that he was way closer to Atsushi’s face than he thought, his eyes widening at the sight. “… you.”
His breath tickled Atsushi’s skin and the detective made another mental note how it didn’t really bother him at all. He smelled of liquor, but it wasn’t that off-putting.
“Yeah, okay. Want to sit down for a minute?”
[Set after saving the world from Amenogozen. Atsushi has trouble falling asleep; he goes out in the middle of the night to look for some snacks, and crashes into a drunk Akutagawa. They talk, they bond. Followed by tooth-rotting fluff (you’ve been warned).]

“I’ll be sure to pass that along to Kyouka,” Akutagawa continues with a sneer as he heads for the porch. His shirt shivers along the backs of his thighs. “Two worlds and you abandon her in both.”
The purring stops dead. Atsushi surges upright, coat flaring. “What the hell is your problem? I’m not abandoning anyone in any universe!”
“You are always my problem, weretiger, a trial I must endure no matter the reality.” The stupid dressy shirt swirls around him as he pivots. Ruffles engulf his fisted hands. “You and your fucking wish!”
“All of us prayed at that shrine, jackass, you can’t blame just me for this.”
A strange shrine and a mirrored yearning brings Atsushi and Akutagawa face to face with another version of themselves. In the attempt to return home, Atsushi decides the only way to grant their shared wishes, the only way to fix the heartache, is to do it himself—No matter what Akutagawa's problem is.

This is just a collection of drabbles that aren't long enough to be stand-alone fics -- mostly pieces I wrote on a whim on Tumblr that I figured I'd post here as well. There's no set schedule, I think it adds to the whimsy of it (I just have full pieces that I actually need to write and post out).

Atsushi’s parents are dead and he's lived in a group home for as long as he can remember. Because he hates being a bother, he’d been hiding it from everyone, but when he slips up and says something to his maths tutor on a Zoom call his cover is blown. His tutor convinced him to come to stay with him and his roommate, Katai, and finish his last two years of high school in their city. He’s 17 so he can legally leave the home. He then makes the journey to Yokohama and meets a certain eyebrowless boy and the rest of the mysterious Mori family, but are they as human as they seem? (of course not!) -

Akutagawa stared at him with those big, empty eyes, seemingly no emotion behind them. The closest thing Atsushi could link his expression to was indifference, laced with a little bit of contempt and some leftover hatred. Empty, and not in a comfortable way; not very welcoming, but not outright murderous anymore.

“Uh. You want to come to the arcade with me?”

Akutagawa can practically feel the rush of Atsushi’s lifeblood. It hums a beautiful tune of life and perseverance. In moments like these, when Akutagawa is so intimately close to Atsushi, she reflects on their time together. She’s been well acquainted with the younger woman’s blood throughout their relationship’s lifespan.
