The Doctor appears in Pete’s world and is reunited with Rogue and the Metacrisis Doctor, but this world is all wrong, or, actually, the world the Doctor had come from was all wrong, because why else would both he and Rogue remember a time that Mavity was called Gravity?

Not that any of them would know it at the time. In fact, the Doctor does not know Rose is even in the Universe until the Impossible Astronaut. Rose has been building the Doctor a Pack that he can call family. Those she considers worthy. Even putting her jealousy aside for some unlikely people. After all who said that those she ties to the Doctor as lovers cannot have ones they want too? After all she has John and Jake. So, it is only fair. She gives them a choice when she gifts them a life that matches the Doctor’s. They would be the Companions of Time . . .
