Looking down, he's in clothes he doesn't recognize.
Except, he does.
And Steve figures it out before his hands pull off the bandana and tangle in long, matted hair.
He's Eddie.
Somehow.

Summary
He was a pretty thing, covered in moles as though he had been born with the galaxy at the tip of his fingers, holding the universe's secrets in his hands. A little star shone brightly in the darkness. Under the dim colorful lights, his hazel eyes looked like candies. Sweet. Tart. Flavorful.

Summary
Hooded eyes fell on Steve's bare form—fair, smooth, freckles and moles dotted, vulnerable—and something wild, heated unfolded in them.
Against Steve's volition, he squirmed beneath the shameless staring. He had nowhere to hide, feeling his nipples pebble while his stomach coiled with humiliation. Pointless as it might be, he still tried to squeeze his thighs together, hoping to soothe the longing ache down there.
Eddie smiled, wolfish.
"Caught ya."

Summary
That's when he sees the headlights. At first, he's sure it's a trick of the light. The mountains do that, sometimes. Ghost lights. Headlights that seem to be coming your way, but never arrive. Blinking out of existence like they were never there at all.
Eddie thinks that seems fitting. He kind of did the same thing. He feels like his past life was a mirage, all smoke and mirrors. A trick the universe played on him.
It's not until he hears the crunch of tires, slow, steady, equipped with chains at least, that he knows someone is actually approaching.

Summary
“Steve rested his head on Robin’s shoulder. Eddie banded his arms reassuringly around them both, while also petting Steve’s hair, which was quite an impressive talent. Steve regularly wondered how the hell he did it. Eddie’s arms shouldn’t be much longer than his, if at all. ”
Or, Steve isn’t a fan of scary movies, even on three-way-snuggle movie night with Robin and Eddie. Eddie hangs around to soothe Steve’s nerves (in the filthiest fashion) and accidently flashes more of himself than either of them were prepared for…

Summary
“You need to come inside before you pass out,” Eddie says from their porch. He was standing there fully covered in a long-sleeved shirt and pants that were longer than his legs. He pressed against the door to avoid direct sunlight, but with how loud Eddie talks, Steve could hear him from where he was standing.
“I’m almost done!” he yells back, “just a few more minutes and I’ll come inside,” he goes to start the lawn mower again, but loses his balance and almost stumbles to the floor.

Summary
“Do you need help?” Eddie asked before he even realized he had gotten up and made his way over to Steve’s table,” It looks like you’re struggling.”
Steve looked up at him,” I’m fine,” he said sternly before looking back down at his papers.
Eddie just sits down on the chair next to him. “It doesn’t seem like it, let me help you,” he says, grabbing Steve’s papers to see what he’s reading.

Summary
Steve’s head is swimming. He can barely fill his lungs with air between kisses, when their lips part for a second or two, only to clash much harder and needier than before.
They should probably stop, take a deep breath, and cool down, but that’s not what he wants. He’d rather suffocate than put an end to whatever it is they’re doing.
He doesn’t even remember how they ended up here. Again.
They were just hanging out, like they always do. Lying next to each other on Eddie’s living room floor in comfortable silence, listening to music, just existing side by side.
Now, here they are, suddenly so much closer than before. With Eddie propped up on his side, hovering over him, one hand in Steve’s hair, kissing him breathless.
And that’s- that’s strange, right? That’s not something they usually do. Not like that.
This feels different than last time. And the one before that.
Because this time, there’s nothing he can blame it on.

Summary
“Is there someone you would want to kiss?” Steve asks, hoping it doesn’t make what he wants too obvious because he desperately wants to kiss Eddie. He has wanted to kiss him for a while now.
Eddie turns to look at him, “There might be.” Steve watches him glance at his lips. They start leaning in. Steve feels his heart race like it’s his first kiss and not Eddie’s.

Summary
Tonight is a good night, and Eddie is in the mood – a little high, a little drunk, not yet ready to head home.
His friends have all left, made him promise not to do anything stupid, as if that has ever kept him from doing exactly that. Inanity might as well be his middle name, and Reckless his last, because there’s no fun in always playing by the rules, always doing what he’s supposed to. He wants to live while he can; life’s too short anyway, better make the best of the worst of it.
That’s how he gets stranded alone in a club full of strangers, no one there to keep a watchful eye on him, keep him in check, preventing the inevitable mess of whatever sticky situation he’ll get himself into.
He is free to do whatever, or whoever, if he’s lucky.
