Too much tension with his parents, with his father specifically. They never yelled, but the air would get thick and Mick would find himself staring at his own feet to avoid snapping at his father. It wasn’t good for anyone to talk back, it would only make everyone angry for longer. That tension, the anger he would bottle up in the moment, the sadness it would churn up when it felt that his father wasn’t proud of him.

So after finding a mysterious doll-like robot with both biological and mechanical characteristics near a polluted river, he fixes her up and presents the short little robot, named Artificer of Illusions, or "Artie," to Sniper as a gift. But as Sniper slowly starts finding himself opening up to the short little robot, and more and more things are revealed... It soon becomes clear that this robot was not originally from here.
