Summary
"That’s not how you hold it," Sirius said, from behind him.
Remus didn’t turn around. "You don’t even know what I’m drawing."
"Doesn’t matter. You’ve got the grip wrong. You’re choking it to death."
"And you’re watching me?"
"Unfortunately."
* * *
Remus Lupin has spent most of his teenage years learning how to disappear. Between a mother who’s been unwell for years, a father who’s barely keeping it together, and a rotating cast of relatives’ spare bedrooms, he’s learned how to lie low, keep his head down, and leave before people ask too many questions.
When he’s sent to Foxbridge College—after his last school didn’t exactly work out—Remus is prepared to do the same thing all over again.
But Foxbridge has other ideas.
The boys in his dorm are loud and difficult and brighter than he wants them to be. The girls are sharper than he’s used to. The teachers seem to expect things from him he’s not sure he can give. And Sirius Black… Sirius Black is a storm with a laugh in it.
This is a slow burn.
There is no magical revelation.
Just people.
And maybe a few of them are brilliant.
