Tartaglia falls into the abyss again and loses consciousness, waking up in Khaenri'ah five hundred years ago, meeting Thrain and also seeing their leader in his youth. Both will seek to help Ajax return to the future in exchange for him giving them information about the destruction of Khaenri'ah so they can prevent it.
And no matter how much he tries to deny or repress it, Ajax ends up falling in love with the man who gave him shelter, food, and companionship during his stay in the past.
