A light drizzle fell as the small dapple grey horse and its rider wrapped in a strange cloak crossed the River Semath and caught sight of the castle walls and its massive towers of honey-coloured stone. Araluen.
In his pocket, the rider – a Ranger – carried a crumpled letter from, well, an old friend. He reread it more than once, and not just because the hand that'd written it had trembled so much the final phrases were almost illegible.You would undoubtedly find it melodramatic, old friend, but the ink stains on my hands seemingly last longer than the decisions I make. The days blur together; it's funny, sometimes I forget which season we're in.

Erak is already an Oberjarl and has recently established new laws for slaves to improve their lives. Despite everything, the village Will goes to does not seem to follow these laws. Will the boy survive until help arrives? Will help arrive at all? In the country of Araluen, things are also different than we know them. Based on the 3rd and 4th books by John Flanagan, but it is a changed story. Because why not?

Erak już jest oberjarlem i jakiś czas temu ustanowił nowe prawa dla niewolników, by polepszyć ich życie. Mimo wszystko wioska, do której trafia Will wydaje się tych praw nie przestrzegać. Czy chłopak zdoła przeżyć nim przybędzie pomoc? Czy pomoc w ogóle przybędzie? W państwie Araluen sprawy też toczą się inaczej, niż to znamy.
Na podstawie 3 i 4 książki Johna Flanagana, ale to zmieniona historia. Bo czemu by nie? -
