On Max's last day in the other universe, her and Chloe get into a bad argument. Max realizes that she isn't coping well with her leaving. She then meets with her Chloe from across the transect, and she suggests that the other Chloe is dealing with unresolved feelings for Max that she's never reconciled.
Chloe then comes up with an idea against her better judgement and her envy:
She decides to give Max permission to spend her final night in the other universe with the other Chloe, as well as Rachel, however they so choose.
*This loosely takes place at the end of the comics.

There, printed in black and white, was a missing persons poster. Max felt the air get sucked out of her lungs as her eyes followed the lines of details printed along the side of the page. She felt the ground beneath her begin to shift as she forced herself to look at the photo that stared back at her. The photo showed the steely eyes of someone that made Max’s stomach turn. She looked older now, her hair short, her features angular and set with the attitude of a sharp knife. Although she looked way different than Max remembered, there was no mistaking who it was.
