It’s not like Hannibal didn’t know that Will was hiding something. It was after the third body drop a week ago that it became clear that Will had a secret that somehow involved the case, one he wasn’t willing to share yet, not even with Hannibal.
At 6:43 AM, Will had texted Hannibal that a fourth body had been found and that he was on his way to the scene with Jack.
At 8:06 PM, Will had stepped into Hannibal’s office, thirty-six minutes past his appointment time, and practically shouted “I used to be a stripper!” as loudly as his hoarse voice would allow him to.
Hannibal Lecter, though not phased by much in life, has never been entirely able to predict Will Graham, but this is just… getting out of control.

The girl stood still. There was a gentle tap-tap echoing in the air as she observed the room. Her fingers were wet, and her toes squished unconsciously into the puddle beneath her, an age-old habit from a childhood spent playing in the water. It was wildly inappropriate in the current situation, her mind helpfully pointed out.
Tap tap tap.
The noise mocked her. She inhaled a breath, disrupting the sound, and turned her eyes away from the tableau before her. Her fingers clenched into fists. Unhelpful, she couldn’t help but notice. The skinny little hands that sat at the end of her equally short arms were virtually useless. Tiny fingers unable to clench anything, palms to small to hold anything. Useless.
Tap tap tap.
The girl inhaled again, flexing bloody fingers into the cold air. She eyed the floor once more, or more accurately, the bloody mess that covered the floor. Her toes squished again.
OR: A girl is promptly horrified to learn that she has been reborn into Hannibal universe and is fairly certain of her impending death. She really shouldn't have gotten attached to the man that is now apparently her father.

The part of him that knew it would be a terrible idea for all sorts of obvious reasons was beginning to give ground to the part that would always want to run away with Hannibal – the part that was compelled by the monster, fascinated in spite of himself. His pulse leapt almost imperceptibly.
“An end to the chase.” Dr. Lecter’s deep maroon eyes held Will whole; he felt almost as paralyzed as he’d been under Cordell’s knife for a moment. Finally, he said,

Summary
A Season 2 AU in which Will Graham did not, at any point, accuse Hannibal of being the Chesapeake Ripper.
Will Graham is the smartest person most people will ever have the misfortune to meet. Hannibal Lecter has been no exception; he's brilliant, but his failing is that he assumes he's the mastermind in every situation. He still thinks Will didn't pick up on every weird joke, every coincidence, every threat disguised as a charming quip, every flashing neon sign that screams "Hannibal Lecter is the Chesapeake Ripper!"
Now, Will has to decide what he wants from Hannibal. For the first time in his life, it seems like there's a possibility that somebody might be close enough to his level for a real connection. Hannibal is an apex predator in a garish suit, blind to Will's superior camouflage, and the Ripper's obsession with Agent Graham is so obvious it's drawing attention from... undesirable sources. If Will can manipulate everything to his desired outcome, Hannibal could become the equal Will has always wanted.
If he wants to protect their fragile peace, it'll take a lot more than just Hannibal Lecter.
That's fine. After all, Will has never been able to stop himself at just one stray.

“That it wasn’t—” Will broke off, heat creeping up his neck. His skin still tingled where Hannibal’s thumb had rested, as though his pulse hadn’t yet stopped beating there. He gestured wildly, frustrated. “That it wasn’t what she thought.”
“And what did she think?” Hannibal asked, almost mildly.
Will stared at him.
“You know what she thought.”
Hannibal did not smile, not exactly, but his eyes held the faintest glimmer of amusement—or satisfaction. “Then it seems I should respect her interpretation.”
Or: 3 times Will pulled away from Hannibal’s touch + 1 time he didn’t.
