~ It seems we're getting to know the new kid. ~ Hannibal answers in a resigned tone.
"Lecter, this is Will Graham. Will, this is Hannibal Lecter. He will be your roommate, if you need anything, feel free to ask him. Hannibal is one of our best students, I'm sure he will be able to answer all your questions." As the teacher says these things, he steps away from Hannibal's line of site.

Summary
After very publicly (some would argue theatrically) losing his mind and murdering three young women in an unconscious state, FBI consultant Will Graham is sentenced to serve three consecutive life sentences in the notorious Shawshank State Prison. Upon arrival, he is unsettled to find himself in a cell neighboring that of infamous serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who is 12 years into his own life sentences and amuses himself dealing in fine contraband.
When Will approaches Lecter with an unusual request, the two strike up a friendship which, over the years, develops into a powerful infatuation that will change them both irreversibly. Crawford dropped his head into his hands and exhaled audibly. “I have secured a post for you in Fairbow. You are to be employed at Morthall Manor by a Dr. Hannibal Lecter, one of Sulwell’s most generous benefactors, as private tutor to his twelve-year-old daughter."

Conflict has arisen among two great kingdoms. To the north lies the House of Lecter, led by a man circulated by whispered rumors and frightened respect. Below him to the south, King Verger rose to power through nefarious means, though none would dare contest his rule for fear of his displeasure. Will Graham had been held captive by King Verger even before he'd stolen the crown, kept for the man's own sick amusement, tortured and alone. As a boy, he'd resolved to kill the man the second an opportunity arose; after so many years enduring King Verger, he wasn't sure if he'd last long enough to see his vow through.

A Season 2 AU in which Will Graham did not, at any point, accuse Hannibal of being the Chesapeake Ripper.
Will Graham is the smartest person most people will ever have the misfortune to meet. Hannibal Lecter has been no exception; he's brilliant, but his failing is that he assumes he's the mastermind in every situation. He still thinks Will didn't pick up on every weird joke, every coincidence, every threat disguised as a charming quip, every flashing neon sign that screams "Hannibal Lecter is the Chesapeake Ripper!"
Now, Will has to decide what he wants from Hannibal. For the first time in his life, it seems like there's a possibility that somebody might be close enough to his level for a real connection. Hannibal is an apex predator in a garish suit, blind to Will's superior camouflage, and the Ripper's obsession with Agent Graham is so obvious it's drawing attention from... undesirable sources. If Will can manipulate everything to his desired outcome, Hannibal could become the equal Will has always wanted.
If he wants to protect their fragile peace, it'll take a lot more than just Hannibal Lecter.
That's fine. After all, Will has never been able to stop himself at just one stray.

Plagued by nightmares, Will flips on the TV to a weird antenna public access channel, just to have something to help him fall asleep. In the twilight between unconsciousness and waking, he sees a strange commercial that must have been a dream. The next morning, determined to investigate, he discovers a strip mall that, unbeknownst to him, is owned by Hannibal Lecter and features businesses such as Stammets Mushroom Boutique and Queen Bee Acupuncture. But the strangest establishment by far is owned by Mr. Jones -- a restaurant flanked by dancing mascots called Jones Good Ass Barbecue, where each customer gets a foot massage from Georgia with any purchase.
But Hannibal recognizes Will from Tattlecrime.com. Is our intrepid profiler in danger? Or only in danger of getting the best foot massage of his life?
