“Hello? Who’s this?” He asked, voice low. He didn’t want to worry any of his classmates, so he decided to stay at least a little silent before hanging up on the person if this was some kind of prank.
The man laughed, it wasn’t mocking or anything, but it still sent a shiver down Izuku’s spine. As if his body remembered, but his mind didn’t. “It’s me, my son.”
Time stopped, Izuku’s breath hitched.

He’s clad in nothing but a large shirt and shorts, an outfit that makes him feel decidedly small, in a much different way than it does with his father around. As he looks at his ankles, he can almost see the chains that hold him down, drilled into his bones.
