These parts are sorted, parting with the pieces they used to share a brain with, then carved into a new person's brain, recycled, merged with parts of other humans to create something wholly new.
On occasion, a humans' brain will split before death. It's not common in any way, but it's not unheard of. Oftentimes, it causes no issue; the brain is just already split before returning to the afterlife. In many cases, the human has no clue it even happened.
