Summary
After battling off their khaos counterparts, Kenshi and Johnny are left exhausted. Kenshi revolves to stay over. Johnny held the door open to Kenshi’s own room, well aware of Kenshi’s penchant for solitude following a tiring fight. Johnny shot a tender glance towards the man he respected and admired so much, if Kenshi could, he’d return the gaze. But he stumbles into the room, limping with a sore and aching pain in his hip.
“I’ll.. uh, find you some clothes?” Johnny awkwardly smiles and drums at the door frame, Kenshi knows how anxious Johnny feels at the moment. Inadequacy bubbles in Johnny’s gut, Kenshi grunts affirmatively. Too exhausted to form words with his bruised lips from hits he couldn’t dodge in time.
He doesn’t bother to take off his shoes once he collapses fatiguedly, dozing off with his covered-toes brushed onto the floor. Kenshi groans from being hit by clothes, jolted awake. “Goodnight Kenny..” A worn-out Johnny yawns,”G’night..hmph.” Kenshi’s face thumps onto the plush and soft mattress, his lethargic hand drags the clothes discarded onto him. Getting a whiff of Johnny’s scent, familiarity rushes to Kenshi.
Kenshi discovers new things about himself, and his love for Johnny’s scent.

With Shinnok sealed, Johnny Cage lets himself believe his biggest problems are behind him. So much so, that he returns to the old reliable; another acting gig, a superhero film to take his mind off of the chaos the fights between the realms kept forcing him into.
But it seems luck is very unwilling to be on his side for once. Normalcy is clearly no longer on the table when events begin rapidly unfolding: portals, demons, familiar faces that he'd rather not need so soon, and a masked vigilante dressed in white so bright you'd think they want to be seen.
Forced into a classic mystery that needs to be solved, he has to figure out why the demonic resurgence has just started happening, who is to blame, and most importantly, what does his producer have to do with that weird hero wannabe anyways?
