Summary
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan may have had a rocky beginning as teacher and student, but now they share one of the strongest master-padawan bonds in recent memory. They remain side by side through every assignment and trial, admired by their fellow Jedi and deeply in tune with each other.
Then Obi-Wan's visions return, and Qui-Gon is struck down by an assassin's poisoned blade.
“I saw him kill you.” The younger Jedi’s words were falsely steady, his brave attempt at stoicism undercut by the unbroken thread of concern now thrumming from his side of their connection. “You were dead.”
Curse these blasted visions. Why couldn’t the Force give Obi-Wan a few relaxing, happy futures to look at on occasion, was what Qui-Gon wanted to know.
“As you said, the Force reveals only potential futures,” he noted soothingly. “Not concrete ones.”
Obi-Wan’s eyes searched his, their perception disturbingly clear as usual.
“But this one felt real.”

Order 66 is in effect. Epsilon, Red, and Krayt Squads are broken beyond repair. The Republic they once fought for, and the Jedi Order they defended, now ashes beneath the Emperor's grip. The Jedi, their Mandalorian partners and friends hide in a hole on Coruscant's notorious Level 1313 while a Fascist Galaxy rises above them. They have only one goal: get off Coruscant, stay hidden, keep everyone -- including the Younglings that made it out of the Temple -- alive. Naat Reath, already having faced down a Dark Acolyte of the Sith, lost two Masters, and is now pregnant with a father who fights for the Empire, barely holds it together. On the other side of the Galaxy, Arya Wooy's Master, known across the Outer Rim as "Jedi Bob" searches for his Padawan, in a Galaxy that was once his playground, now turned dark and hostile. Still others, including the Nelvaanian Akime Sen and the wounded, discharged clone trooper CT-0916, have to navigate a civilian's life in this new, darker, Galaxy. A Galaxy where nothing: not safety, not life, not victory, and not even the Force, are guaranteed. The Clone Wars are over. The peace that follows, everyone now finds, is much worse.

But I wondered what would happen if the reader was a Star Wars nerd who had been trying her whole life to be a Jedi and she actually was Force sensitive? How would the Jedi Council reconcile the existence of a Force-sensitive who appears to know all the Jedi Lore and teachings but isn’t in any of their records? How would their lives be changed by that?

Even when Obi-Wan’s alone on Tatooine, Ani is still there for him.
“Oh, light, please protect him,” whispers Obi-Wan Kenobi, “and show me. Show him to me.”
Anakin has been exceptionally cooperative lately, especially with his attention during lessons and opening up with the other younglings. They admire him: a student their own age who is already leagues more adept despite only discovering his abilities months ago. Anakin is unbreakably proud, so he basks in that attention even though he’s still painfully shy in his new home. It was comforting to see him getting along, Obi-Wan thinks, comforting to see him treating himself as less of an outsider. A certain level of detachment is essential, but so is companionship that might help fill the spaces left by the little Rodian and the human boy he speaks of often but is slowly learning to let go. Anakin seemed to be doing so well, but now he’s gone.
