“Where do you belong?” II asks, looking up at him through long, dark lashes.
Vessel shrugs, “Haven’t figured it out yet.”
“Me neither,” II whispers.
“We’ll find out,” Vessel eventually mutters. “I’m sure we will.”
“I believe you,” II nods quickly. “Together?” and he turns hopeful eyes on Vessel.
Vessel smiles and nods, leaning down to press his forehead to II’s. The other boy’s breath hitches, but he doesn’t move away from Vessel, curling a hand into his hoodie instead, holding him close. Vessel doesn’t mind this at all; in fact, he likes it.
“Together,” Vessel promises.
