An Éothíriel with an Austen twist. The King has called for the noble houses of his kingdom to unite through marriage. Éomer, Earl of an impoverished estate, again and again crosses paths with Lady Lothíriel, daughter of Duke Imrahil of Dol Amroth. Her haughty manners and self-important behaviour irk him most terribly, and she, too, seems to look down upon him and his men for - well, for being how they are. Certainly, the two of them form opinions about one another, while Éomer's sister Éowyn and Lothíriel's cousin Faramir gravitate closer and closer to one another in the meantime. Multichapter WIP

She glares up at him – he is soaked from the water she has been throwing at him, but his golden eyes are glaring right back at her, and there’s that sneering curl to his lip that makes her want to dump half the ocean on his head.
He leans down and she can feel the heat of his breath in her ear.
“Leaving so soon?” he hisses.

Summary
Éomer is what you might call a "Christmas decorating expert." Every year, people walk or drive by from all over town just to get a glimpse of the extravagant decorations at the Eorl house. But this year, everything seems to be going wrong. Éowyn has a new boyfriend and already has plans to spend the holidays with his family instead of at home. Then the lights won't turn on and Éomer is forced to hire an electrician to fix the problem. It's a bruise to his ego, but he has no other choice, because if he doesn't get the lights to work, then Éowyn won't come home for Christmas!
Gimli is an electrician who lost his Christmas spirit when the love of his life broke his heart. Ever since, he has spent the holiday season taking any job he can get, including one at a big old house owned by a guy who is way more handsome than he has any right to be. The over-the-top Christmas decorations are a bit of a turn-off, so Gimli is able to talk himself out of even considering it. But the season has a way of making miracles happen, including bringing two unlikely people together, helping a Scrooge rediscover his Christmas spirit, and revealing the true meaning of Christmas to those who may have lost sight of it along the way.

Summary
Ainslie, a young refugee, comes to Meduseld, passed off as a ward of Gríma Wormtongue. She makes a new and unexpected friend: Háma the doorward, whose fondest wish is to leave Edoras and see the beauties of Middle-earth for himself. One day, four strangers arrive at Meduseld, and Háma gets his wish. But when the men return, Ainslie cannot find him.
PREVIEW:
“Try bouncing the ball into the wind,” [the voice] said. She glanced in the direction from whence it came, and saw a pair of shrewd hazel eyes in the peep-hole of the helmet.Ainslie furrowed her brow, returning a skeptical look. But she tried what the man suggested, and it worked. The wind made the ball move straight up and down, and its path was easier to predict.
The control emboldened Ainslie, and when she tried again, she picked up four of the nuts. She threw a glance at the doorward that was one part triumphant, one part grateful.
“And what might your name be?” she asked by way of thanks. The man bowed stiffly at the waist, proffering a collected smile.
