“Why would that be weird?” Eridan asked and Sollux rolled his eyes.
“You really don’t find any of this weird? Or awkward?” Sollux asked and Eridan shook his head. The programmer goes silent and stares at Eridan for a long moment, so Eridan stares back.
Sollux exhales in disbelief then, shaking his head.
“Fuck you,” Sollux said, with no real heat, smiling down at his sandwich.

Eridan hates Sollux, he hates him and everything about him.
For all of a few months, because then soon after, Sollux becomes maybe the only person Eridan really trusts. And he's not sure what to do with that.

Eridan is lonely. He knows it's his own fault, he pushes anyone who could ever care about him away, but that doesn't stop it from making him even colder, even angrier. He's scared of himself, his own thoughts, and the actions he tries desperately to justify. Feferi avoids him, he's lost all his friends, and Eridan is lonely.
So lonely he'll do anything to stop it. Even allow his brother to do awful things to him. Even do awful things to himself, to others. Anything to feel a little less alone, even for a second.

Summary
There's always that one character that isn't really well-liked in a fandom. Because of their personality, choices, attitude, they weren't seen in a very favorable light. One such example was Eridan Ampora, from the webcomic Homestuck. It's been a while since he had read Homestuck but he never really hated Eridan, in fact he found him okay, so did a lot of fans.
That doesn't mean he was okay with being shoved into his body during his first molt! He was human, not a troll! The culture, the society of Alternia is fucking horrible and he clearly didn't belong here! Unfortunately he doesn't think he can do anything about it, he couldn't remember what happened to him, he can't even remember personal details of hisold life like his name.
Fuck it. If he was going to be Eridan Ampora, then fine. He'll take matters into his own hands, make his own choices, decisions and opinions. Canon can go fuck itself.
If only it were that easy… There's only so much one person can try to change, especially as Eridan Ampora. Or any other Ampora.

Summary
After being kicked out by his cousin and forced into therapy under a mandated court order, nineteen year-old college student Eridan Ampora is already sick of this whole "life" thing.
Whereas Eridan views his biggest struggles as lacking the funds he once had to fuel his expensive lifestyle and his more-than-inconvenient mood swings, childhood best friend Karkat Vantas struggles to get Eridan to see how devoid of meaning his life truly is. Rather than Eridan seeing his forced therapy sessions as an opportunity for betterment, he instead views them as unnecessary attacks on his character, nearly pushing Karkat to his breaking point.
However, Eridan finds his view on the world slowly shifting after running into Sollux Captor during a shared class period at their local community college. Immediately, Eridan is obsessively fascinated by the person that Sollux is, eventually forcing him into analyzing his own sexuality, gender identity, and backwards views on society.

Six sweeps ago Eridan Ampora graduated from the Naval Academy of the Alternian Empire and began a new chapter of his life. Leaving Alternia and his previous life behind he found himself lucky enough to be placed in direct command of a small patrol fleet. Stationed at the edge of Imperial territory, he considered himself thankful even if his new life was nothing more than empty patrols and writing official reports. With his crew and his ship, even if his place in the Empire was small and insignificant he was proud, and content if not somewhat bored.
Now though, everything is changing once again as mysterious orders are sent directly from the Empress. On the precipice of a new era in the Empire, Eridan finds himself sucked into the sort of mission he had always hoped for. With only his ingenuity and his fleet, he is thrust into strange new worlds and an adventure that will make him question everything about the life he's built for himself. The life the Empire had provided, and the life that was now in peril as he tries to balance serving the Empire and surviving.

They were an inseparable pair.
Two individuals from different universes incarnated into a third. Paradox Twins that may never have met otherwise, but learn to become better because of it.

A bit of a whataboutism.
Eridan happens across Feferi and Sollux out and about one day. Both are understandably wary, seeing as the last time he interrupted one of their dates he blinded one of them and killed the other, as well as dooming their species out of spite after the fact - but Eridan isn't here with an agenda this time.
After all, he's been trying what the humans call "therapy," and while he didn't appreciate being called entitled, eventually he did have to acknowledge that he was messed up in a lot of ways, and having a lot of his fears and upsets validated strangely helped. He never expected a human to understand or be able to help him, but strangely, they did.

Eridan Ampora is not the most well-liked troll out of the twelve, his attitude, choices, and personality in the series weren't very favorable but I found him alright and a lot of other fans did as well. March Eridan was also popular for the character of course.
How I got into his body after his first pupation molt is something I will probably never know, but living the life of Eridan Ampora is not all fine and dandy despite his high caste blood. Troll society and culture is very different compared to my old human one, I can't really remember it and my own old life so I guess I really am Eridan Ampora now huh?
If I was going to live as Eridan then I was going to live it my way, so say goodbye to Canon Eridan attitude and hello new world of choices and opinions! For one thing for sure, I wasn't going to fuss over the romances and do my own thing. Canon timeline be damned! Canon timeline be damned indeed... If only it were that easy...
But who knew the change of attitude of one character like Eridan could change so much? And yet, change so little? And apparently... He wasn't the only Ampora to change...
