When the teleportation rune landed them in an unknown territory, Sam was prepared to improvise. He’d come too far, after all, to let Eret slip from his grasp before he got the answers for which he’d been so desperately searching. It didn’t matter all that much anyway, all he had to do was buy enough time for Lindsay and Marquess Manifold’s workers to track them down to the new location.
Except things seem to go off the rails almost immediately, and returning home wasn't as easy a task as simply activating the correct teleportation rune.
For better or worse, he and Eret were stuck, leaving Sam with limited options on how to move forward. He wasn’t sure if it helped that they were now surrounded by genius outcasts as they tried to find their way home, but whatever happened, he would protect his family.

Grian choked back a sob, he was never going to be human again, never himself again. He needed to do something, anything to connect to his roots. Otherwise this was not going to end.
Tears blurring his vision, Grian scoured the area around him for something to help, and then resorted to his inventory. His eyes flitted over all of the items he was carrying, stopping on his sword.

Grian knew that relapsing was wrong, but sometimes it's the only way to cope with other things.
After a rather harsh reminder that he is always going to be a Watcher, Grian develops a less than savoury habit. That is, until, his friends find out.

Summary
Mumbo has been missing since the end of Season 8. When Season 10 began, Grian had begun to lose hope of ever finding Mumbo again. Even his Watcher powers couldn't find the man. Until the day a message appeared in chat, and a supposedly secret worldeater spawned into the world.
Mumbo has no memory of who he is, except that he is a worldeater, and he is supposed to destroy the server he spawned into. Worldeaters, the natural enemies of the Watchers who protect servers, had no purpose except to take nurtured and loved worlds, and destroy them. He is determined to keep everyone from finding out what he was and why he was on the server. The only problem was that everyone already knew, and they didn't let Mumbo in on the fact.
Grian doesn't know how to explain his past to Mumbo. Sure, he was a Watcher, and Mumbo was a worldeater, but they had been engaged before he'd disappeared. And now, Mumbo had no idea. Can he rekindle his relationship with the man? Or will the server be destroyed before Grian can save it and the players he loves? -

Grian opened his eyes and scanned them across the desolate plane that is the end. His eyes flashed up and he saw the ender dragon circling across all of the black obsidian pillars. He studied the end on both of his sides. Nothing. He looked behind him. Nobody. Where is everyone? He was alone. Alone in the end. He glanced around once more. Still no sign of anybody. Was he sure everyone jumped in? Yes. He swore he saw their feet touch the end portal at the same time as his. Was there a glitch? He sure hoped it wasn’t. Grian thought, for a moment, that there was a figure to the right of him. He quickly turned and found… Nothing. He was alone, and the only way to get back to the others was by killing the ender dragon. He sighed. I guess I'm killing it all by myself. He thought. This better be some kind of joke.
OR
Grian is kidnapped by the Watchers, and Pearl wants to get him back.
This is going to be a long fic! Strap your seat belts and hold on, because it's all downhill from here.

The Watchers control Grian when he falls asleep, Scar is living his best life as a small time villain and sometimes hero, and Mumbo, though he has yet to dip his toes into the hero/villain scene other than sharing an apartment with Grian, has more than one secret.
Scar decides it's time to introduce Poultryman, his friend/the vigilante he annoys when he's bored, to some of his other friends, and they all become involved when the watchers start kidnapping people out of the blue.
In other words I know I'm not the only one who wants more hermitcraft superheroes AUs, so I decided to write one.

Jimmy stepped closer, to see what was it that had caused the crater, what was capturing Pearl’s attention.
When he stepped next to her, he spotted a big black something, possibly charred from its tumble through the atmosphere. It had a spiky texture, something that looked like feathers, if it wasn’t for the fact that they wouldn’t have survived the friction of such a long fall. Not to speak of the immense velocity and altitude a hypothetical feathered creature would have to reach to burn up and cause such an impact. Besides, no creature would have shattered upon impact like this thing did, with lavender light seeping through the cracks.
OR:
When Jimmy and Pearl are out in the forest, they find Grian who fell from the sky and forgot who he is. Grian watches. That’s what he’s supposed to do. And the only times he allows himself to be seen is when he runs around at night with Hotguy.

There he gets bought by a charming assassin who tells (asks) him to come on a mission with him. All he has to do is pretend to be the man's boyfriend for a little while, once it's all over he'll get back to his normal life.
Grian, not seeing any other option, agrees to this plan.
