Dick ran through the halls, nausea bubbling and threatening to burst through him. He threw the door open, breathing heavily. The Batcave medbay was quiet, secluded. There, in the bed, was Elowyn, her dark hair spilling over the pillow. Alfred stood, dressing an injury on her head. Jason sat by the bed, holding her hand, even though her eyes were closed. Was she awake?
God, he hoped she wasn't.

Peter seems to remember who he is, his name, his losses, his responsibility as the 'friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man', but everything that led to this moment? That led to being stranded in this foreign place? Half-remembered and hastily stitched together.
Gotham is colder than New York, the faces are unfamiliar, the skyline jagged and grim, and the heroes... strange and foreign.
He is haunted by visions of a dour, inescapable green; his memories muddled and vague. He knows he needs to get his narrative in order, needs to remember it properly, but now Peter has garnered the unwanted attention of Gotham's idolised protectors. Jason has a feeling this kid doesn’t remember quite as much of his experience in the pit as Jason did himself. With a sudden jolt, Jason realizes this kid might not know he’s dead.

Dick takes Tim to visit the Kent farm for the weekend to meet Kon and Jon.

Flying is so cool, the cold wind whipping against his face, his cape flapping behind him. Kon has Tim and Jon help steady using what Kon had explained as tactile telekinesis, occasionally letting Jon go so he can glide.
They fly over snow covered fields, with the odd spare forested area between. Tim wishes he’d brought his camera, the scenery was beautiful, and nothing like he’d see in Gotham.
“Where are we going?” Tim has to shout to be heard over the wind.
“There’s a really big field, it’s not too much farther, no one ever goes there, so me and Jon build a fort there if we get enough snow!” Kon explains. “We just got a snow storm, so we should have enough to build a really big one this year!”
“Yeah! Then we could have a snowball fight! Or make snowmen!” Jon adds excitedly, letting go of Kon’s hand a shakily flying for a bit, then grabbing Kon when he starts to fall. “We should have grabbed a hat!”

He'd seen in Elowyn how much each interaction set in stone her future mentality and emotional regulation. It frightened him, knowing every conversation he had with her might be the reason things go wrong- and it hurt him to know he'd been failed by his parents, abandoned when he needed them.

She was wearing one of his shirts, which practically swallowed her whole, and she had her head tilted slightly as she looked at him. Her eyes were sleepy and blearily just like his were and he noticed she was looking pale.
