Severus Snape thought he must be extremely unlucky to be the only faculty member at the school who had a muggle landline phone at his summer residence…unlucky, but also so very thankful. Because after countless shocking, concerning, and frankly bizarre calls from one of his students’ guardians each summer, a Dean Winchester, well, Severus’s life was taking on a completely new and welcome direction.

This brings Dean and Sam to the town to find out more but what's revealed to them will lead them to a shock that this isn't just a monster hunt but something else entirely that they've faced before but they know nothing about who's doing this and what is the reason on why the mystery person is attacking and taking people. But, what they find out will lead to a lost that will leave them questioning the whereabouts.

The fact that Sam subscribed to podcasts about various folklores was unusual—since Dean didn't believe his brother needed explanations from some geek group—but still helpful.
And if it entertained Sam on long car rides, then Dean was happy for him.
The fact that Sam had also added his research on human serial killers... well, that made Dean a little less happy and a lot more worried.
