Summary
Dean and Cas have been camp counsellors at Camp Centennial for so long that Dean couldn't even keep track. It was just a part of his life, every year, that he would come back, and he would get to see Cas again.
He didn't have Cas' number, he didn't know Cas' parents names, but Dean knew, deep down, that Cas was probably Dean's favourite person, out of every single person in his entire life.
Dean hopes it never ends, and that they can just come back every year, for the rest of their lives, and Dean chooses to ignore all of the very real possibilities that that was not how the world worked.
“Dean, you sign up for this camp every year, knowing that being a camp counsellor is what you’re signing up for, and then you spend the entire time complaining about being a camp counsellor.” Cas says, his brows furrowing.
“It’s not nearly as much fun if I don’t complain, Cas.” Dean raises his eyebrows.
“You’re not the one who has to listen to you complaining about it.” Cas deadpans.
“Wah wah wah. You didn’t have a kid barf on you.”
“That happened four summers ago!” Cas exclaims.
“Three.” Dean crosses his arms.

One year and six months have passed since Sam, Dean and Jack defeated Chuck. Jack is the new God, the bunker is full of the new generation of hunters who are excited to learn from the best in the business, and Sam and Dean rarely work any cases these days. Everything is fine, but something's missing.
Someone is missing.
Dean still grieves the loss of everything he never got to have and Sam misses his best friend. The brothers have tried everything to bring Castiel back, but with Jack MIA all of their attempts were unsuccessful.
Until Sam figures out a way to get into the Empty.
Dean has prepared an entire speech, full of parallels such as "Good things do happen, Cas.", "I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition!" and most importantly "I love you."However, once in the Empty, Sam and Dean find out that Castiel escaped a long time ago.

Castiel, an overworked and underpaid sales rep for Sandover Bridge & Iron, is daily tortured by his cubicle-mate (read: mortal enemy), Dean. When Dean’s not actively making his life worse by using and abusing his office supplies, his picture at the top of the sales pyramid is taunting him. It’s a reminder to Cas of his own inadequacy always lurking in the corner of his eye that only further stokes the flames of his hatred for Dean, causing things to get a bit stabby.
When the two are tapped for a special project about building positive relationships in the workplace, they’re forced to figure out a way to become friends so they can sell it. Amidst all the praise they receive for their workshop, a potential promotion is put on the table between them, threatening the delicate balance they maintain as they teeter on the tightrope of societal expectations, and neither is sure if their budding relationship can survive the impact with the ground below.
The popularity of their workshop eventually sees the two men on a national stage and the more time they spend together, the closer they ultimately get until neither man can recognize the relationship they began with, and things once again get a bit stabby.
