Summary
Danny wakes up in a strange place, gets almost buried in an avalanche of decomposing books, and then meets a catperson, in that order.

"Hey, uh…" The person began, their voice sounding like they'd swallowed sandpaper. "You, uh, okay over there? I know that's a silly question."
Danny coughed and, yes, impolitely did not answer because he preferred to hack out his lungs.
"I felt that was a better opener than 'you look like shit', or 'damn, how long have you been decomposing up there?'. Don't speak ill of the dead and all that."
