Summary
Little Ratonhnhaké꞉ton despairs as the flames lick higher.
His mother is dying and there's nothing his small body can do.
Then suddenly out of the smoke, like some great spirit, a man in wolf pelts and black face paint obliterates the wood from the inside, bursting out like a demon made of fire and flesh. And in his arms, cradle carefully is his mother, safe and alive.
