Apparently, Solar’s Sun was not dead, in fact he was stuck with Dark Sun. Eclipse had spent day and night trying to figure out how to get back to Solar’s old dimension to no avail. Nothing was working and Eclipse was giving up hope, until a dimensional code picked up on a certain animatronic instead of the collapsed universe.

What if Ruin from the Sun and Moon Show had been given a personality more like that of his game counterpart? What if he wasn't the violent, bloodthirsty killer who made games of death, what if he wasn't the cunning, manipulative deceiver who was determined to end trillions of innocent lives for the "greater good?"
In this story, you'll find the answer to those questions. One day, when the New Moon is going about business as usual, the portal opens and out comes a mysterious, broken animatronic who isn't looking for a fight. Unfortunately for him, the New Moon isn't looking to show hospitality to a ruined refugee.
(For clarification, I'm not saying my version is better or that SAMS' version is at all a bad character. This is just my fun little AU to showcase my take on Ruin! As I explained in the tags, he's a hybrid between the game and the show, but his personality leans more towards the game version.)

He stood up and stared into the darkness for a moment, looking left and right before he heard a small scratching sound, broken sobs cutting through the air after a moment, ones he didn’t recognize.
“Hello?” he called into the darkness, wincing as he heard a panicked shriek and metal casing slamming into the floor.
"Ruin?!"

Sun had only wanted a quick spray job, his paint peeling and old. And he was going to, right up until he had run into Ruin.
And that’s how Sun found himself in the remains of his old room with the amalgam, who was adamant on helping Sun with this seeing as he ‘was clearly not willing to give it the time to do it properly himself’.
(Regardless, Sun didn’t mind Ruin’s company. Especially after the past few days, where everyone but him seemed so busy. And Sun knew Solar was the smarter (better) choice for dealing with Eclipse, but that still didn’t make something curl unhappily inside him.)
