Summary
Danny's parents are very skilled monster hunters. They settled down a little as they raised their children and work on inventing new weapons and defenses. What was supposed to be a power generator got mixed up with some magic from a grimoire Sam had found which granted Danny his powers.
Upon getting a tip about one of the few monsters that had escaped them, the Fentons decided Danny and Jazz are ready to join them in an active hunt. Too bad it was all a trap.

Dick knew certain cases weren't supposed to be tackled alone. Extraterrestrials kidnapping meta kids? That definitely required back-up. In hindsight this should have been handled with the assistance of the JL, but hindsight was always a bitch and as Dick sat wondering how he was going to get out of the thick metal cuffs digging into his wrists he could feel the ship rise. On one hand this was a shitty situation but maybe it could lead him to the center of this new crime ring. He was Nightwing, the Original Boy Wonder, he could get out of this, couldn't he? He just had to play along until they lead him to their leader and by that time the JL or his family will have sent a rescue team.

It got easier as Red Hood locked down most of the gangs of crime alley, limited the flow of drugs, and stopped protection racket payments for Isolde Zervas' family's business. It allowed just enough breathing room for them to run a bodega that expanded to include her mother's baking. With all the pressure an eldest daughter of first generation Americans carries, is it any wonder she might use her bus commutes and nights tucked safely away from the streets to indulge in writing fan fiction based on the gray hero whose actions allowed to even set a goal of attending Gotham University, let alone making dean's list for the first two years.
She only wonders how disappointed her new boyfriend might be to find it, or how disappointed her parents will be when they find out he's Bruce Wayne's son. With her dating track record, and the way she likes trading things back and forth that make each other laugh, she supposes he might just be worth the trouble. At least, she hopes so.
