He was reviewing the League reports, with his children hovering in the cave, when the motion sensor on the Batcave ceiling activated.
There was no time to react. A small figure, wrapped in light, fell directly on top of him.
A golden chain flashed between her wrists and his.
And just as he was about to speak, another flash appeared.
"You again!" the second girl yelled.
And then they both launched themselves at each other.
Bruce sighed.
It was official: the night had just gotten worse.
Or, in other words, how Marinette and Lila discovered they were sisters, daughters of Batman, and that fate was a bitch.

During the daytime, Marinette is a lonely, shy girl who struggles in making friends. When the moon rises, that's when she becomes Ladybug: A confident superhero ready to face her fears to protect Paris.
Felix is a rude, reserved, quiet boy, with girls always clamoring for his attention. When darkness falls, he transforms into Cat Noir: A cunning shadow of the night, cracking jokes, and chasing the girl he loves; Ladybug.However, Ladybug --and by extension, Marinette-- does not love Cat Noir. She's in love with Felix, unbeknownst to her that they are the same person.
Despite their differences, Ladybug and Cat Noir must work together to defeat Papillon and free Paris from evil.

They get to know each other in very different situations and have very different kinds of relationships with each other. Ladybug and Chat Noir take their time getting to know each other, yet they trust each other with their lives right from the beginning, as if something just clicks. And it does, it's the balance of fortune and misfortune. They're the balance of each other, and it takes time for them to realize that.

Hasta ahí casi todo iba en perfecto orden, al menos, según los propios estandares de Marinette.
Pero una visita a Gotham, algunos reporteros entrometidos, los Wayne (que parecen aparecer donde sea que ella este) y un aterrador Batman lograron que las cosas se pusiera patas para arriba y, como dijo Chat Noir, él ratón entró en la boca de la serpiente al hacer algo tan simple como ayudar a un desconocido.
El camino al infierno esta pavimentado de buenas intenciones, ¿no?
Y Marinette aprendió de la manera dificil lo que esa frase significaba.

The twelve Kwamis give the girl a choice: leave them alone, or accept to become their new Guardian.
Marinette accepts. Now the new Guardian of the Zodiac Miraculous, she must find proper Holders for her new companions while keeping the villainous Holder Hawk Moth from getting his hands on the Miraculous of Creation and Destruction, Held by the heroes Ladybug and Chat Noir.
