Summary
Max and Bradley have come a long way since their collage days; Max a famous professional skateboarder and Bradley the CEO of his own brokage firm. Despite being content with their happily ever after both of them dream to expand their family but are faced with systematic barriers as two gay men trying to adopt in the early 2000's. When push comes to shove they have to decide what they're willing to do and sacrifices they'd make to make their dreams come true, even if it opens up a lot of old wounds they'd once thought healed.

Bradley Uppercrust III, or 'Brad', as Maximilian Goof calls him, is back at school after being out for three weeks following the X-Games. Tank slingshotting Bradley into the blimp has forced new fears and new feelings into Bradley's life. All he wants now is to get through his last two years at State and graduate. He's on thin ice with the school and his father, so he needs to not make another mess or spill too much in therapy. However, Max seems to have other ideas.

Max had hoped to never see Bradley again, ever, after the X-Games. So why was Bradley walking up to him and his friends? Was he actually being serious, or was this another scheme? Wait, does Brad actually have a heart?

Summary
Because every action has them, every choice, good or bad. Even winning. Max learns this first hand.
Bradley had thought he'd needed to win the X Games, not just because he wanted to. Now, he had no choice but to go back to his dark, bloody past to salvage even a small part of his future.
Together, the two of them are in a mess much worse than the X Games could have ever hoped to be— full of violence, dirty money, and raunchy clubs. Max just hopes he can get back before his sophomore year in once piece, but if everything else isn't the death of him, he's sure Bradley will be.

He turned around, and Max Goof was holding a snapped stick in his hands, a curious expression on his face. "It's a Friday night, pretty boy." He carefully stalked to the other side of the bench. The two were almost touching; Bradley hadn't prepared to share the space. He was worried it would look bad if he moved now.
"So, I've been told." His tone was snarky, not reflecting the loops his heart was doing.
"You beat me here," Max noted.
"I didn't think you were going to come."

Winning the previous year’s X Games had definitely given him a leg up when it came to socializing; friendly faces now followed him wherever he went from the quad to The Bean Scene. With his best friends by his side, nothing could possibly spoil his newfound sense of belonging at the University of Spoonerville.
Well, nothing except a summons letter from the school reminding him of an unavoidable decision, one that he was now condemned to make on a deadline tighter than a noose.

He had doused his relationship with the other Gammas in gasoline and burned it to ashes at the previous year’s X Games. Living under the Uppercrust family name demanded excellence: in academics, in athletics, and within social circles he was loath to participate. However, Bradley didn’t have time to dwell on his newfound status as a villain in the eyes of his peers. He only had to graduate.

His lawyer had listened to his long list of mitigating circumstances (whining) and the full context of his actions (excuses) but had dismissed all of it in favour of arguing the merits of restorative measures and how promising a candidate Bradley made “for a therapeutic and community oriented approach to meaningfully demonstrate his remorse and changed behaviour”. It was nothing short of humiliating and came only second to the absolute tongue lashing his father had given him.
