"Are you afraid of dying?" She asked the boy weakly, biting hard on her lip as she looked down and hugged her knees to her chest.
He eyed her warily before offering her the smallest of smiles, letting his arm come in contact with hers as he relaxed onto the wall behind them. "No." He placed the rifle on the ground by his side then surveyed the their area, not noticing how the girl's lips parted slightly at his answer.
Her brows furrowed as she sent him a side glance, shaking her head in avoidance every time their eyes would meet by chance. His answer was not at all what she'd expected, yet oddly, she wasn't as surprised as she thought she'd be. She had asked quite a few people the same question already, and admittedly, he had the same answer as most of them did.
Really, the only thing that set him apart from the others was that he meant it.
