Summary
The world fell apart when the sea opened up and monsters started emerging from it's depths. Things changed, monster attacks became the normal, giant robots fought with heroes who slowly became villains. When the Wall of Life failed to hold up to the promises it was contracted to uphold, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps lets Marshal Pentecost make one last stand with the Jaegers he has. With the limited time, it'll be hard. It has to be enough.
Though, for a pair of Jaeger pilots thought lost, marked KIA in every sense of the word, they remain standing. They follow the steps they stated before they were pulled into the Jaeger program, to take the spots of family lost to war. Their squad, their shatterdome, thought lost to the violent waves of the sea and the Kaiju it bears, are not as washed away as the world might believe. It's not until the world thought them forgotten, that they make their sonic boom.

And Raleigh hated the idea. Of course he did, Chuck could hardly expect differently. He himself was pissed, actually, because he didn’t want Raleigh in his head. Chuck might, possibly, be in love with Raleigh Becket, but that didn’t mean he had to like him. And he didn’t. Raleigh was an entitled, self-absorbed ass. Chuck did not want to do this. “Evening, deputy. Care for a drink? Or are you still on duty?” Raleigh asks smoothly as he comes up in front of Chuck, drying a glass with a bar cloth.
Chuck takes in his appearance for a moment before shrugging a shoulder and looking around the bar. “Was looking for Mako actually,” he mumbles to Raleigh, looking unsure about the whole place. He sure doesn’t look comfortable. It’s the first time Raleigh has seen him without a hat and he can’t help but notice the reddish tint to what he’d thought was thick blond hair. “You’re working for Mako now?”
There’s something in his tone that suggests he’s under the impression Raleigh is one of her ‘workers’. Raleigh feels his cheeks flush red and is about to open his mouth when Mako slides over beside him and throws an arm around his waist, smiling at Chuck.
“He’s not for sale."
